These switches are amazing. Really simple to setup, installation is a breeze, and work perfect with my hue bridge. Best part, no batteries to worry about like everything else on the market.
If your browsing this product and understand the purpose, buy it... You won't be disappointed.
Sometimes there is a short lag but it doesnt happen often, and I think it's expected as it is still wireless tech. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to control multiple lamps at once, given yo have the hue bulbs, and do not want to rewire the room, which can be costly and dangerous. Definitely worth the investment.
The only improvement would be by adding two more 3M stickers per switch to prevent a wobbly mounting (not a problem if you use screws ofcourse).
PROS:
- Simple, intuitive setup - add and program in Hue App (fully supported as ‘Friend of Hue’ product)
- NO wires or batteries to replace
- Mounts on wall or in single or multi-gang box using standard wall plates
- Pressing up or down allows you to set or change scenes, +/- dim level or turn off.
- Each press (up or down) can:
— Control up to 3 groups/rooms of lights
— Each room can set its own scene
— Turn on one group and others off
— Long press access separate function (limited to: +/- dim, lights off, or do nothing).
- Looks great (see pictures)
CONS:
- If controlled by Homekit, long press loses dimming capability, but gains ability to control Homekit devices
- Not yet supported in iConnect app (at date of review)
- Good range, but occasionally I’ve have to press button twice (more common when quickly changing scenes - allow command to process).
- Sticks out 17mm or 3/4” when attaching directly to wall. (More than Hue switch - mount in box looks best (see photo)
- Long press does not allow turning lights on or setting scenes
Lack of switch options has hampered Hue light integration for lots of people. Automation is great, but it’s often faster and more convenient to flip a switch. Very true for friends and family who just want light - they don’t want to learn your smart home naming structures.
This switch gives you convenience and the increased feature set offered by smart devices.

It has also failed to activate very occasionally, if that persists I'll probably need to find another switch to get reliable control, but so far just once has this been an issue. I'd rather replace batteries than have it occasionally fail to control the lights.
I had a lot of trouble installing it. With a pretty standard switch box in the wall I couldn't mount this without the surface mount plate, which leaves a pretty significant gap behind it, whereas any other regular light switch has fit just fine. I think this is due to a particular electrical box design where the mounting screws are a single strip covering left to right and blocking the space where the cover plate's comparably long clips would fit. Make sure there is open space to the left and right of the screws where the existing switch is mounted before buying this. I also couldn't mount the surface bracket directly, due to the metal electrical box, so screwing through it as a spacer into the center top and center bottom screws was pretty fiddly but did work.
Setup on the Hue side is very easy and worked well. Just make sure you do the setup before replacing the dual rockers with the single rocker if you are planning on using that.

Not as intuitive to use as the aurora dial but works flawlessly so far. It’s been a great solution for hue switches in an old house without neutral wires. Just bought three more.
Top reviews from other countries
-doesnt require maintenance (no batteries)
-completely replaces existing lightswitches rather than being in addition to (because nobody other than me understands how my lights work)
ive tried many different solutions and finally decided to try one of these, in my opinion, this is the only product that offers an acceptable solution. i can hardwire all the lights to always be on, and replace all my switches with something that looks like a regular switch, no more confused guests.
my biggest complaint is that only one action can be performed at a time, if you use the dual rocker and press both sides in an attempt to turn on two different light groups, it will do nothing.
my second complaint would be the click loudness, but based on how they work, im not sure thats avoidable and its totally acceptable.
during setup, you are only given the option of assigning a single light group per rocker (IE: up and down both have to control kitchen lights for example, cant have up control kitchen and down control hallway), however, you can change this afterwards in the hue app (IE: could do press = on, hold = off). additionally, if you use hue essentials, you can have conditional operations for all 4 buttons, so if your lights were off, up could turn them on, but if the lights were already on, pressing the same button would turn them off, effectively allowing you to control 4 light groups on/off functionality with a single dual rocker switch.
