Using adorable animals, each book explores common emotions like anger, sadness, and worry, and suggests ways that kids can make themselves feel better.

When I Care About Others

When I Miss You

When I Feel Jealous

In today's society, perhaps more than ever, young children need to develop empathy. In this simple book, the author begins by helping children see that when they are sick, hurt, or unhappy, others care about them.

A bear cub describes situations that make her jealous: when someone has something she wants, when someone is good at something she wants to be good at, and when someone else gets all the attention. "Jealousy is a prickly, hot, horrible feeling.

When I Feel Scared

When I Feel Angry

A bear cub is afraid of bad dreams and tall slides. Sometimes, he feels frightened and doesn't know why! In the end, he discovers that there are things he can do to find calm in scary situations.

When I Feel Angry is an excellent book to share with young children to help them deal with feelings of anger. It begins with a cute little bunny character who is experiencing all kinds of bad situations - she is being made fun of, her drawing doesn't turn out the way she likes it, the weather doesn't cooperate with her outdoor plans. She's mad! She wants to yell and hit, but realizes that doing those things will get her in trouble. So she thinks about other things she can do to help manage her anger.

The story is written in such a way that young children will be able to understand and relate to the bunny character. The illustrations are also colorful and kid-appealing. I like that the suggestions are about what to do and not so much about what not to do.

This is a perfect book for kids ages 3-7 who are having some trouble dealing with anger. I highly recommend it.

All the books we have from this series have been so great for our kids. My favorite parts of the books are that the emotions are acknowledged as real and something that everyone big and small feels sometimes. I also appreciate the physical description of the emotions that are very accurate. I have three kids five and under and these have sparked some very beneficial conversation and given much needed vocabulary to little kids with big and oftentimes scary emotions. Have bought most of the series and read them repeatedly by request to my kids!

I really like the content of this book and how it gives some tips on what to do when you're angry. I bought it for my toddler and it's a bit too advanced for her at this time. I'm keeping it for when she gets a little older!

Bought this to help my almost 4 yo nephew who lives with me work out his angry feelings. After reviewing a range of books dealing with anger, I ordered this because it offers appropriate ideas on what to do when you are mad vs just talking about being mad like many of the other books. In particular, we tell him (and ourselves!) to take a deep breath when feeling angry or overwhelmed and that option is suggested in the book. His father and I have read the book to him a number of times and the first time I read it to him he was very surprised that this stuff would be in a book. Emotions are so big when you are that little so he didn't realize that we all feel that way sometimes. Overall nice little book talking about anger. My only wish is that there was a little more of a story to it--it's written more like a "how to." If it had nearly the same content/message but wove in more of a story about the bunny it would have more longevity as a stand-alone book.

I got this for my pre-school aged granddaughter to help her learn to deal with everyday anger. It gently models ideas that children can use to calm down - deep breaths, counting, going to a quiet place etc. It is very helpful and we enjoyed reading it together

I bought this for my 4 year old to help facilitate discussion about appropriate ways to handle anger and it's really helped. I love that this books goes through triggers (hurt feelings, disappointment, frustration), the things you want to do when you're angry (yell, hit, say something mean), and then gives good alternatives (leave the situation, deep breaths and blow them out, exercise, doing something fun, rest, cry, time alone, ask for help, talking and listening). It's a very cute book and I think my son could really relate and has gotten better about talking about his feelings instead of just throwing tantrums. It's also helped me to remind him in the moment of better ways to handle his feelings. Sometimes it is so apparent how overwhelming feelings can be at this age and it's nice to feel like I have something to offer him to help him deal with them.

Purchased these for a friend. She said she read it once with her son and saw an immediate difference in the way he coped with his anger. This book is written well for children. It teaches them to identify their anger and find healthy ways to deal with it.

this is a lovely book, lots of cute retro american 00s style illustration, lovely little characters, good length of story, lots of scenarios and advice for kids on what to do when they feel angry. i bought this for my nearly 7 year old and she enjoyed it, we then re-told it to suit our situations better. its great but i think most beneficial for 4/5 or 5/6 age groups. still lovely and worth buying for us.

I bought this book for my 4 yo girl who is struggling right now to deal with her anger and she likes it. There are easy examples of what can make someone angry like being laughed at or striving to do something without success and gives some advice on how to cool down including talking to figure out how we feel. She can easily relate with the examples and it gives us some hints for discussion. pictures are nice too
