So when the game came the initial installation and updates were quick and easy to install. Took about 30 minutes in total. And I was ready to go.
The actual game has a few modes. You can multi player, exhibition and some sort of career mode.
The game is fun and light hearted and in no terms is it meant to be taken serious, in my opinion. The options for the cars are limited to begin with (I'm not advanced very far in the fame so cannot tell you how far it foes) however like I said I brought this as a light hearted game to play with friends.
The actual multiplayer gameplay is fun. It's split screen. And when you play you play with other cars. The games got a good balance for difficulty. You mainly win if you make no mistakes but its pretty easy to come last as well if you keep making mistakes.
The gameplay is fun. The cars don't have damage. Aren't to hard to control nor are they to easy. It has an arcade feel to it.
Tldr: A light hearted game that is fun unlike other modern gaming these days. Was difficult to find the two player mode. But got there in the end.

Single player is great with levels not feeling too repetitive. The levelling system is enjoyable, with hundreds of races to play through!
Multiplayer is great fun, if you manage to find a game. It is quite glitchy, with matchmaking taking longer than playing a race.
Overall if you want a fun single player racing game that shows off the PS5’s UHD capabilities then this is a good choice! If you’re looking for a primarily online game, this probably won’t hit the spot!
Update May 2021** : An update to the game that has now improved server connections & added cross play has made the online a much better experience. Lobbies are more full and matchmaking doesn’t take longer than a minute
The graphics are honestly beautiful and the controls feel realistic and responsive throughout, with the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers allowing you to really feel the engine throughout each race and terrain. The addition of the "Playgrounds" mode allows the community to create some of the most entertaining, wackiest tracks I have raced on in such a realistic racer. The wide variety of cars and the variable grading based on the track and car category allows for each car to feel unique, and throughout the lengthy campaign, you will unlock many outstanding cars to feed your opponents dust with. The "Throwdowns" within the campaign provide some high-octane duels, which are always a delight to play, and the various race types keep things feeling fresh throughout.
The only criticism I have is that I would have maybe liked to see a few more tracks as opposed to the "Reverse" ones, which would have really helped keep things fresher for those like me who want to get the Platinum trophy and 100% the game.
Overall, I would recommend this game to anybody... seriously. It's THAT good.
With the controls I found the game easy enough to get to grips with and was soon drifting cars (pretty fun on ice), although the cars do tend to stick to the walls if you hit them rather than bounce away. On a side note, the Sprint level in the career mode is practically unusable. You can't speed up without the game forcing you to spin out and the AI smashes into you constantly (there's a few threads on Reddit about this part of the game).
The game takes advantage of the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers. If you're wheel-spinning on ice then you'll feel it on your throttle. I personally like it, others don't and the game allows you to set the intensity or just turn it off altogether. Winner for both.
The game will be one that I casually play when I have an hour spare. It's a typical arcade racer with a career/online mode. It does what it says on the box.
**I did experience issues with split-screen mode. I kept trying to press the touchpad button on the second controller to join but the game refused to let me. A quick restart of the game sorted this. This is a common issue**
