About this ebook

Doctor Heidi Morgan is off limits. She’s the definition of forbidden and I hate that I want her anyway.

I may be forced to see my new resident each day at the hospital where we work, but I won’t be forced into feeling something for the woman who is an unwelcome reminder of the worst day of my life.

Heidi gets under my skin, testing the limits of my patience and my control. WIth our past, it should be easy to push her away; to convince myself not to trust her. It definitely should not be so hard to resist the attraction I’ve ignored for so long, especially since I’m her boss.

Only restraint is never easy.

Her brilliant mind, compassionate heart and seductively sweet smile that keep me up at night with thoughts I really shouldn’t be having about someone who works for me, let alone someone I have every reason to hate.

Yet with every word we exchange, every touch we share, the fire she’s ignited in me is shifting from frustration into something else. Something far more risky.

It’s starting to feel like a matter of time before I lose control and let her into my heart. I just have to find a way not to lose myself at the same time.

Hate To Want You is perfect for fans of enemies to lovers, medical settings - with only one bed, forbidden romance, strong willed heroines and heroes who know when to admit they’re wrong. If you love steamy small town romance centered around a big family who love to get in each other’s business, spice and swoon and a guaranteed HEA, this is the book for you. It is a standalone, and the second full length novel in the Donnellys of  Dogwood Cove series.

Please note this book does contain scenes involving pediatric illness and death in a hospital setting.

Hate To Want you by Julia Jarrett is a workplace, enemies-to-lovers romance that got me all in my feels. Both MCs have been through a lot but work hard to overcome their issues to get their HEA. I loved Max, but sometimes I wanted to shake him and tell him to get it together. I liked that he went to therapy because we should normalize it. I enjoyed seeing Max with his brothers and family. Falling in love with him wasn't easy, but once he showed his softer side and how he worshipped Heide, I fell hard. Heidi was badass! She was a nurse before she studied to be a pediatrician. These two had fantastic chemistry, even when Max was mean to Heidi, it was palpable. I loved how much they respected each other and saw each other for who (s)he was. My only issue was with how quickly they got over their issue. One day Max hated Heidi, and the next, they were secretly dating. In my opinion, it would have been better if there had been a short time when they didn't know how to act towards each other and for Heidi to be expecting Max to lash out. It didn't have to be super long, just a few days. This was a realistic story, not only Heidi and Max's love story but also the issues like grief health care workers have to deal with. It only made me respect them more. If you love series like Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice, you will love everything about Hate To Want You!

4.5 Stars I really enjoyed this story. Max and Heidi both have trauma in their past that has left scars. I liked how they communicated with each other to navigate their journey.

Julia Jarrett's Hate To Want You is a special kind of escapism for me. This new to me author caught me by the heartstrings on the first page! I could not figure out why Max decides in the very first paragraph that Heidi is someone he can hate, but it didn't seem to matter as Heidi was leaving and Max would still be there. When Heidi comes back and Max still hates her it was pretty easy to make up my mind that he was just a jerk, until he starts reliving the past with Heidi's boyfriend in it. Only is Heidi still attached to Thad or is Max just making assumptions in the way some men do? Heidi is so attracted to Max, but she has already made up her mind she'll never let another man control her again. So when Max (Dr. Donnelly) starts questioning her choices in front of patients, Heidi stands up for herself knowing she's made the right call each and every time. When Max finally finds out Thad is no longer around, and even more Heidi had nothing to do with the reason Max hates Thad so m
