The H could have literally slept with anyone else, but he chose to fuck the h's tormentor and nemesis that bullied the h as a teenager, when she had cancer. Then as if that wasn't bad enough, he gets the ow pregnant and permanently involves her in their lives forever. I honestly cannot understand why authors continuously create and write about unfaithful MC's and decide to call the book "romance." Newsflash, it's not, the very foundation of romance demands fidelity and faithfulness and reading about a dick H that shares a child with one woman while being in love with another, fucking pisses me off. Books like this one are why I'm seriously contemplating a break from reading so-called romance novels. Constantly feeling this much rage toward fictional characters, cannot be healthy for a person.

Hotshot is a hot mess. Although there weren't drastic grammatical or syntactical errors, like in most books I only give one star, it has so many things I hate that it was shedding stars by the second.
First of all, the hero is a controlling prick. And I quote Bizzy, chapter 30: "Because Shaw won't let me". He physically overpowers her during a hugely emotional fight, "pinning her arms above her head and her lower body between (his) knees". He emotionally manipulates her, saying he can't give her space because he needs her. "You making choices that would take you away from me without giving me a say... you don't get to do that." He has fucking temper tantrums when she travels for work to get some space (despite constantly travelling for work himself) and - behind her back - makes sure she gets accommodation in a place that is his and he has potentially constant access to. He also, again behind her back, provides her with a driver, a cleaner, a food service... which might sound innocent but to me sounds like he has eyes watching her.
Secondly, how the hero talks about pisses me off big time. I hate it when romance novelists have their protagonists hate on people they've been with before. I get it. She's highly strung, a snob and won't get the message that he doesn't want more. He describes her as "a spoiled bitch, used to getting what she wants." Here's the thing though: he chose to have sex with her. He knew what she was like. So if she's a spoiled bitch, what does that make him? Trashy at the very least. If you can't respect someone, you shouldn't be having sex with them. And then he starts going on about his rights to decide whether or not she . No man has the right to tell a woman that. FUCK OFF.
Thirdly, the ramped up angst. When I read the phrase "paediatric oncology" in the prologue, I figured I was in for an angsty ride, but seriously! The cancer, the bullying, the threat of fertility issues, the hero consistently hurting the heroine... but the one that really takes the biscuit for me is the premature birth. As far as I can tell, this was added in just to give a dramatic finale. But guess what? My latest great niece was born today. 31 weeks. Less than three pounds. Here she is:

"I can't remember a time when he wasn't everything I ever wanted."
Hotshot was my introduction to Ahren Sanders. I didn't know what to expect, but the synopsis intrigued me. And well, yeah, the cover caught my attention too. It was a real nice image to keep in my head as I got to know Shaw. And I really did get to know him. I enjoyed the dual POV that allowed me to know what he was thinking and feeling. I must say the author did a great job of writing the characters in a way that I was able to connect with them very early in the story.
Bizzy describes herself as, I'm blunt and spicy. It makes for more fun." She captured my heart and kept it throughout. She shared her secrets with me, letting me know how she felt about Shaw early on. Very early, since she was only 14 when she met him. She had a serious crush on him, but I kept her secret. Holding it close to my heart as I mentally encouraged her to not give up on him. I'm a sucker for a good friends-to-lovers romance and I knew he would eventually wake up, and he did. He "Finally opened his eyes and noticed the woman of his dreams was right in front of him." And she was, since she was best friends with his brother, Nick. She was like part of the family. Like his little sister... until those feelings were no longer brotherly.
The family dynamic is very entertaining between Bizzy and the three Bennett brothers. The boys are very protective of her, and she has them wrapped around her little finger. There's nothing that they wouldn't do for her. But that doesn't stop them from teasing her and each other. They all have a very close relationship that makes it pretty damn hard to hide the chemistry between Shaw & Bizzy when they allow what's been simmering to finally heat up. They have what they call a MDN, which is a monthly dinner night, where they all gather to catch up and spend time together. I found it amusing to spend time with them, giggling at their witty banter as I waited for it to finally happen. For the lingering looks to be witnessed, or for the sparks to ignite and give them away. I was amazed at how long they kept their feelings to themselves before acting on them. It was delicious anticipation filled with sexual tension, just the way I like it.
And then...just when it was almost perfect... BAM! All the dreams that had almost come true for them were threatened. The past came rushing in to steal their happiness. Will they be able to withstand the pain and make it back to the passion? Will the secrets and lies keep them from each other? Which will win, the love or the loathing?

This was so bad. Ow drama all thru the book. I can't believe the heroine stayed with him but she kinda didn't have a choice he was controlling and manipulative. This is one of my biggest pet peeves in books is another woman. Real life offer this all the time we don't need it in books. 😆

I literally had goosebumps reading about the ow and H (which is most of the book).
Not the good kind of goosebumps. The bloodcurdling kind. The itchy evil kind.
The ow is a hideous revolting piece of work. Heinous.
Why is she even breathing?
The hero is a eunuch. Totally vacant. Nothing goes on upstairs nor downstairs.
Obviously the Hxh's relationship was going to be tested.
I didn't expect a cutesy sweet romance with no punch.
I just didn't expect the hero to destroy them.
It's made all the worse because he adored her so much.
She was his world.
Until she wasn't.

How is this a romance when the H or aka zero is having a baby with other woman? And not just any other woman, a b!+@$ that tormented the h for years. So the zero decides it’s a good idea to have sex with ow because ???? He honestly never redeemed himself to me. I just hated him

Sometimes you think a book will be about one thing and then bam...it completely turns on you. At first glance I thought this would be a friends turned to lovers romance. That would be like saying a tsunami has a few strong waves. This one is so much more and the angst is enough to make me reach for my Tums. Repeatedly.
Lizbeth "Bizzy" Hastings first met Crenshaw "Shaw" Bennett when he was at the same chemo session as she was to support his 14 year old little brother Nicky, who was getting treatments. Lizzy was battling cancer herself but in spite of being sick, she literally lights up the room with her personality. She isn't the least bit intimated by this older (he's a junior in college) gorgeous guy. She had an instant rapport with Nicky and once they recognized they are both in the same school, with so much in common, things just clicked. Lizzy brings out Nicky's protective nature. But she looks at him like a brother, now the way she looks at Shaw...
"My friends and family call me Ren."
She squints her eyes and shakes her head. "Nah, I think I like Shaw better. It doesn't remind me of a little shaved Chihuahua."
"Shaw?"
"It's sexy too. So there you go. New nickname."
Lizzy's born the brunt of a group of mean girls led by one particular bitch for the last few years. Because the other girl's ex asked her out to a dance, that was cause enough to make her life hell. Her cancer has changed her appearance, she's lost her hair and the steroids make her face blow up. Lots of material for this girl to humiliate her in front of everyone else. Nick vows he's going to change all of that. He may be missing out on most of his freshman year, but he's always been popular and once he gets back to school he's going to make sure that no one messes with her.
Shaw may think he has his future all planned out, but it's Lizzy who actually sets Shaw on the road to his future.
"You should do the fancy law school thing, but afterwards come out and be a sports agent with the legal knowledge. You can manage Nicky's career when he goes pro after college."
Shaw comes up with Lizzy's nickname.
Without a beat, it comes to me "Bizzy. You'll be Bizzy."
She nods and closer her eyes. Nick gives a small smile. "I like Bizzy. She'll be our Bizzy, forever.
Fast forward ten years-Bizzy is a pediatric oncology nurse, Shaw is a hotshot sports agent, Nick is one of the top quarterbacks in the league. Nicky, Shaw and their brother Mathis are more than a little protective of Bizzy. She is Nick's best friend and the three of them check out each and every one of her dates. She's never gotten over her feelings for Shaw but she knows he thinks of her as a little sister.
Shaw's life is great. He earns more than he could ever spend, he is close to his family and he has a dream job representing the best players in the county. But where women are concerned, he hasn't always made the right decisions.
I should have been more aware, knowing she was a bad idea, but I let my liquor and my dick make my decisions. Now, I have to live with them.
He spends a lot of time with Bizzy and suddenly realizes that his feelings for her have changed from thinking of her as family to wanting a lot more with her. Does she feel the same way? Yeah she does and Finally...these two get together.
I've always loved her in some way, but those feelings exploded into a new raw need the second her lips touched mine. Suddenly, I was seeing the sweet, little Bizzy as more.
Smooth sailing right? WRONG. Enter both of their pasts. Little did they know that they have a common denominator in their life. Once that evil comes roaring their way their lives will never be the same. I started this book shortly before midnight. I thought I would get halfway through and pick it up the next day. Nope, not going to happen. I said just one more chapter, but then my heart would break for Bizzy and I couldn't leave her raw and hurting.
The gravity of the situation starts to hit.
I break out in a cold sweat, imagining the look on Bizzy's face and the devastation in her eyes.
Just one more chapter. But then Shaw was so tormented I couldn't leave him in that much pain. Just one more chapter. I keep reading; the love that Shaw has for Bizzy is solid and swoon worthy and so beautiful. He will do anything to keep her in his life.
"A better man would let you go, keep you away from the drama and heartache, but I'm not that man."
If I had been Bizzy could I have stood by Shaw? I'm not so sure I wouldn't have cut and run. But Shaw's love is worth staying for-until about 75% into the book. I wanted to run Shaw Bennett's ass over with my car, back it up and run him over again. I had such a sick feeling in my stomach that I wanted to shut off my Kindle and make him go away. Just one more chapter....
There's a part of me that hopes I showered her with enough love and devotion to get us through this. I never expected this to happen, to find myself in the position of destroying the relationship with the best thing that's ever happened to me.
Life is messy, sometimes story lines don't go the way you want them to, sometimes the words just hurt your heart. So many hurts in this book. But keep reading, because in the end Shaw will win you back (although I'm not sure I have forgiven Everything) and through all the hell, he and Bizzy will get that HEA. They just have to fight like hell to get it.

He spends a lot of time with Bizzy and suddenly realizes that his feelings for her have changed from thinking of her as family to wanting a lot more with her. Does she feel the same way? Yeah she does and Finally...these two get together.
I've always loved her in some way, but those feelings exploded into a new raw need the second her lips touched mine. Suddenly, I was seeing the sweet, little Bizzy as more.
Smooth sailing right? WRONG. Enter both of their pasts. Little did they know that they have a common denominator in their life. Once that evil comes roaring their way their lives will never be the same. I started this book shortly before midnight. I thought I would get halfway through and pick it up the next day. Nope, not going to happen. I said just one more chapter, but then my heart would break for Bizzy and I couldn't leave her raw and hurting.
The gravity of the situation starts to hit.
I break out in a cold sweat, imagining the look on Bizzy's face and the devastation in her eyes.
Just one more chapter. But then Shaw was so tormented I couldn't leave him in that much pain. Just one more chapter. I keep reading; the love that Shaw has for Bizzy is solid and swoon worthy and so beautiful. He will do anything to keep her in his life.
"A better man would let you go, keep you away from the drama and heartache, but I'm not that man."
If I had been Bizzy could I have stood by Shaw? I'm not so sure I wouldn't have cut and run. But Shaw's love is worth staying for-until about 75% into the book. I wanted to run Shaw Bennett's ass over with my car, back it up and run him over again. I had such a sick feeling in my stomach that I wanted to shut off my Kindle and make him go away. Just one more chapter....
There's a part of me that hopes I showered her with enough love and devotion to get us through this. I never expected this to happen, to find myself in the position of destroying the relationship with the best thing that's ever happened to me.
Life is messy, sometimes story lines don't go the way you want them to, sometimes the words just hurt your heart. So many hurts in this book. But keep reading, because in the end Shaw will win you back (although I'm not sure I have forgiven Everything) and through all the hell, he and Bizzy will get that HEA. They just have to fight like hell to get it.

Have you ever read a synopsis/blurb regarding a book and thought, “Oh wow this is going to be cool read.” Then to start it and see that it’s going to take on a different approach?
Hotshot did this to me. I was like this is going to be fun filled and sexy friends to lovers romance but it was OOOOOHHHHH SO MUCH MORE!!! This story was absolutely incredible.
It is a very emotional book that will touch your heart in a way like no other. This story has rawness, passion, camaraderie, vulnerability, deceit, betrayal, awakenings, truths…to name just a few.
One things for sure: Lizbeth “Bizzy” Hastings has left an imprint on my heart.
Well said, Shaw. But one important thing you failed to notice is not only did she leave an imprint on your heart but you all left on mine.
Lizbeth “Bizzy” Hastings has been in love with Crenshaw Bennett for 10 years. She fell in love with him during one of the hardest times in her life and has fallen in love with him more and more as time as gone on. She went through a very hard time in her life and has had to endure a lot of heartache. She works in pediatric oncology and absolutely loves her job. She never thought things would change between her and the guys. She always felt like they where a family but soon realizes she wasn’t the only one feeling things.
Crenshaw “Shaw” Bennett is a sports agent/attorney. After what happened to his little brother he vowed to make a difference and help people fulfill their dreams. He is a very well known and arrogant attorney but is damn good at his job…the best there is and he will let everyone know it real quick. He is a type of guy who goes after what he wants. He doesn’t ask just does. He has everything he thought he could ever want. A great job. Friends who will do anything for him until one kiss changes everything.
“One kiss, one moan, and I am fucking goner. Never in my life, ever, have I felt the way I do when you’re in my arms. If you can control me with just one kiss, God knows what will happen when…..” He stops himself, and I wait hanging on his words.”
These two….OMG their passion and chemistry is off the charts. I had chills when reading parts of these scenes where they just kiss and cuddle, due to the passion they both put off. They have a different chemistry than most couples. It’s hard to explain. I think a lot of it has to do with what they all went through 10 years prior and how they both endured some of the hardest moments in their lives… it made their connection all the more strong. Made them connect in a different way and then when everything came to surface…it all exploded (in a good way that is lol ).
His eyes dance with humor as he tries to keep a straight face. “Listen to me. I do know you, better than I do myself sometimes. What you’re not realizing is this isn’t a normal relationship and I’m f***ing ecstatic it isn’t. We have 10 years of history. Some of it sad, some of it scary, but most of it beautiful. We’re not two people meeting for the first time, feeling this out, getting to know each other and pussyfooting around. This is as real as it gets.”
Ahren is one of the most talented writers I know. There isn’t a story by her that I haven’t loved. Every one touches me in some way. Some leave an imprint on your heart like this one and some cause the characters to steal your heart but they all are beautifully written. I enjoyed Hotshot immensely and enjoyed the twist that comes with this book that is different than some of her other books.
This is a book I highly recommend to everyone. It’s raw like I said before and some parts may bring tears to your eyes ( did me) and sometimes you may want to throw your kindle at the wall but nevertheless it is worth reading.

Okay, a few points but overall it was alright, just so frustrating. I hated that they had to deal with Sasha. She was horrible. And why did Bizzy not press charges at the end??? I hate that it was Sasha, the girl who bothered her and really made Bizzy's life hell for years that Shaw slept with and got pregnant. I know he didn't know the history but still. I don't know how Bizzy got past it. All the drama and Shaw pulling the disappearing act for a month?! No way. It was too much to ask of her to go through. He stepped up but Bizzy once again has to take the brunt of everything while being selfless. She just rolled over on everything. I hated that. I realize that Shaw was really in a hard place, pulled in so many directions, but he made that bed. Bizzy had to be hurt and pay for his mistakes and that just pissed me off. She was constantly hurt and sad, all the while trying to make Shaw feel better. I really like Claire, she was a real friend. I love the 2 other brothers and Bizzy's relationship with them. I hope they get books too.

But the ONS lead to pregnancy and drama and angst ensues….
The ow bullied the h, when she had cancer! 🤬🤬🤬
If I read this I know it’s gonna be a rage read.

This is a couple that is put through the proverbial ringer yet still manages to find a way to stick together.
Bizzy's been in love with Shaw since the moment she walked into his little brother's hospital room when she was 15 years old. He's always been the other rock in her life. But one innocent kiss changes everything for them.
I always enjoy a falling for the older brother romance. This one was a little different since Bizzy had a very strong connection to all three brothers. From the moment Shaw meets Bizzy in Nick's hospital room, you could see the connection between the two of them. I'm not really sure why it took ten years and this particular innocent kiss to change the way Shaw saw Bizzy, but once his blinders were lifted the man was all in. He took the characteristics that made him an awesome agent and used that to put the full course press on Bizzy when it came to their relationship. Good thing she was all too willing to follow him.
The relationship between Bizzy and Shaw worked on many levels and it was easy to see how these two could go from being friends to lovers. And with everything this couple went through, it was easy to see why even when Shaw was at his worst, it was easy for Bizzy to forgive him.
My only issue with the book came with the villainous, Sasha. She was over-the-top evil and it never made sense to me how she twisted things into what she did. She was good for throwing a wrench into the works for Bizzy and Shaw, but in the end, I think there could have been a better way to use this situation to show the strength of Bizzy and Shaw's relationship without Sasha's borderline crazy antics.

I didn't catch this one when it was first published -- but caught it last week and was intrigued. So glad -- a really good story with two really impressive characters. Shaw is a bit of a dirt bag at times and Bizzy has a problem not standing up for herself. Yet, I still found myself smiling when they were on the same page. Lots of angst! But lots of heat, too! And enough laughs to keep you wanting more.
I've read more than a few reviews that state that Shaw, the high-powered sports agent and lawyer was a cheater. Nope -- he wasn't. He never cheated on Bizzy. His bad boy ways got him in trouble BEFORE he committed himself to her. The outcome wasn't good -- and he paid dearly for his bad choices. And so did Bizzy! Shaw put her through some touch and go moments. And there were times I was ranting and raving at him. Some communication between them might have alleviated some of the angst and problems. But there was no cheating between the our two main characters.
I was a little disappointed in the ending. Felt like readers didn't get full closure. I wanted to see a little more future between them.
All in all, this was a pretty solid read for me. And I'm on to the second bro, Nick's story. And hoping there will be one for the doc and third bro, Mathis, as well.

Even before I pick up a book by Ahren Sanders I know that not only will it be a hot & steamy read but chances are that I will have another book boyfriend to add to my list, lets just say that Crenshaw Bennett, aka Shaw, may have slightly pushed Finn out of that number one spot he has been coveting for a while. Not only that but Bizzy has just started a new list for me....book girlfriends ;) Bizzy has not had it easy at all and the way she handles everything that is thrown in her direction is rather remarkable, she is one hell of a strong female character!
I do not want to give any spoilers so I will be rather vague of the plot review, just know that there is a lot going on and it will have you on an emotional roller-coaster ride, one minute you will be loving everything and then the next you will want to back-smack some one. I loved each and every word of this 366 page novel and I really do hope that there will be more books about the Bennett brothers because while Shaw maybe totally delectable I would love to know more about Dr. Mathis Bennett and Nick Bennett the youngest of the three brothers and the most charming (if you ask him)

I’m not too sure of how to rate this one. The story had so much back and forth. Truths were hidden. All trying to protect individuals. The heroine was “A Number One”. It was the hero, though, that had me constantly scratching my head. I’m sure that I’m in the minority here, but it seemed to me that he wanted pity and understanding for something that he did and had to take responsibility for. At times he was elusive and closed-off, even when he was the one at fault. And, the person that suffered the most was his amazing girlfriend. She was the one that moved the story along. She was spunky and funny. She just made everyone smile. The prologue in the beginning was cute and entertaining. A little sad, and the book from what I first was thinking, went into a whole other direction. While I was expecting sadness, I got a whole other take on what was going to occur. I was really not prepared for the main storyline. It was tedious. Like I said, a lot of back and forth with feelings and unsure choices made. The villainous of the story was spot-on. Nasty. Vicious. Not a care in the world for anyone but herself. And, in the long run, she gets her just desserts. No sympathy from me. This is the first time in awhile that I am rating a book lower than it should be mainly because of the hero. I loved his family, however! His two brothers and parents. So supportive and loyal. It was just him that I had an issue with. The ending is fitting. And, everyone is more than happy!

This was the first book I’ve read by Ahren Sanders, and I was totally taken by surprise by it. I’m not sure what exactly I was expecting when I read the Hotshot blurb after my blogger boss, Miranda, told me about this assignment. But I can tell you that I was absolutely not expecting to feel the level of emotion that I felt while reading this book. From white-hot, furious anger to gut-wrenching heartbreak, I felt every single emotion that this couple went through. Oh yes, Hotshot drew me in from the first page.
I was immediately thrown into Bizzy and Nick’s story, struck by the bond these two teens forged through something that was unfathomable and how brave and strong they were in the face of all that they were dealing with. It was during this time, when an awkward and ill young Bizzy meets Shaw, Nick’s older brother and, for her, it was love at first sight. The friendship that grew between Bizzy and Nick was special and rare, shaped through a shared experience that cannot be comprehended unless you’ve been there yourself. The – strictly platonic – love between the two of them was beautiful and genuine. She is drawn into the tight circle of the Bennett family, much as her family embraces them.
As if the cards that Bizzy was dealt weren’t bad enough, this young woman is targeted by a mean girl when she is finally well enough to return to school. Bizzy’s pain, humiliation and hurt radiated through the author’s words as she dealt with the never-ending episodes of this other girl’s cruelty. The bright spot in all of it was her friendship with Nick, the handsome high school star quarterback, who rallied behind her and forced her to live her life as a normal teen despite the torment that plagued her at every step. I truly loved how incredibly resilient Bizzy was. While not unscathed, she managed to come through the torture of her teens with the core of her kind, gentle and generous spirit still intact. She selflessly pursued a career that would make a difference in the lives of children waging the same battle that she had while also repeatedly taking her back to that time in her own life. While she loved all the Bennetts, the day she met Shaw, her life was changed, and on top of the all heartache she already carried, Bizzy had to accept that he’d never see her as more than a sister.

There’s not an Ahren Sanders’ book that doesn’t emotionally tear me apart and then ever so slowly put me back together again, making the heartache worth it in the end because the hero and heroine showed they had what it takes to be together.
But I have to admit that the angst in Hotshot KILLED me; I'm not sure if it's the mood I'm in with my overactive emotions due to real life issues, but, I didn't know if I could handle all of the ups and downs of Shaw and Bizzy’s relationship. With that being said - it was an emotional situation and that is definitely conveyed through everything that happens to the couple. Shaw was going to mess up and need time to figure everything out, and Bizzy, due to her past, was going to need to figure out how to react and deal with the string of events that turn her life upside down.
Lizabeth “Bizzy” Hastings is incredibly easy to love; she’s a sassy girl who knows how to hold her own despite all that she’s had to endure since she was young. She loves with every piece of herself, and she gives all of herself to everyone who becomes a member of her family and friends. But there’s also a softer side to Bizzy; a part of her that can be irreparably damaged if care is not taken, and this part of her is exposed and made vulnerable when she finally gets the man she’s always wanted and then has to share him with circumstances that are out of her control.
Readers are definitely going to have issues with Shaw; he makes decisions and acts without much thought, which leads to monumental obstacles for him and Bizzy. But what readers need to remember is that his choices before Bizzy had nothing to do with her, so in terms of what started all of the chaos that is brought into his and Bizzy’s relationship, there isn’t anything to forgive him for because it was done before he pursued his heart. His actions during the maelstrom that Sasha brings into his life with Bizzy will have readers hesitant to forgive him, but Ahren Sanders does a great job of exploring all of Shaw’s fears and concerns through his internal and external dialogue, which is what helped me see past those times when my frustrations towards Shaw made me want to throttle him.
One of the best aspects of Hotshot is the family dynamics between the Bennett brothers and Bizzy. Bizzy’s bond with Nicky is where it all began, and their friendship has grown into something that is everlasting. But all of the brothers share a special bond with her and they all would fight for her in a heartbeat and that idea is clearly shown time and time again as Bizzy has to deal with her past colliding with her present and the fallout of what that means for all of them.
Hotshot is another great read by Ahren Sanders. It’s a story with a whole lot of heart, steam, and drama that is realistically portrayed in order to show the true meaning of love at its many levels, and I’m hoping Sanders will continue with the Bennett brothers because I would love to read Nick’s story!

Let me first clarify myself…I liked the story. I loved the “cut-to-the-chase” characteristics of the both the H (Crenshaw) & h (Lisbeth “Bizzy”).
I loved that they first met when he was twenty and she fourteen, getting treatment for cancer alongside his baby brother, Nick.
I loved that they all remained so close that ten years later, they were the best of friends to the point of practically being family.
I roared when Shaw was ready to finally admit his feelings for Bizzy and proclaim his feelings for her.
I adored Bizzy and Shaw’s relationship…loved her friendship with Nick…
Was so ecstatic this all happened within the first couple chapters of the book.
What I was not ready for was the shit-show parade of Shaw’s alcoholic mistake named Sasha.
Jesus Christmas…this whirlpool of drama had me practically ready to pull my hair out!!!
Bizzy is a saint in my eyes for the crap she dealt with and going the ol’ Hilary Clinton route and sticking by her man.
Granted, Shaw was not having it with Sasha, the life changing news that shook both his and Bizzy’s world would’ve had me running for the hills (I admit it, sue me).
But alas, despite the craziness…despite the heartbreaks…despite the feeling of me wanting to gut Sasha myself…this story was true form of how love can persevere all. If you want it to work, you can make it work – drama be damned.

Ahren Sanders’ latest novel, Hotshot, is an emotional rollercoaster of epic proportions. Shaw and Bizzy have long fought their attraction to each other with their age differences, but now as adults those difference no longer matter. Shaw’s controlling nature is enthralling against Bizzy’s sweet and reserved nature. These characters are so unlike each other that they work perfectly. Each balances out the other’s faults, well, some of them. Shaw’s past discretions come back to haunt their newly formed relationship and as a reader, you will spend most of your time plotting a certain character’s fictional death.
Hotshot’s plot lines and characters are richly complex and will engage readers from the very first page. As I mentioned before, this story is an emotionally charged one and you might want to grab a box of Kleenexes before you start your binge read. The twist and turns of the plot will leave you frustrated and emotionally damaged until the very last page. At times, I found myself mumbling under my breath at Shaw’s stupidity when it comes to the big plot twist I will not mention. If I could have reached inside my kindle and fictionally slapped the crap out of it, I probably would have.
All in all, this is another amazing addition to Sander’s rich writing library. From her series novels to the standalones, Sander’s knows how to write the kind of books that you can’t help, but love. I greatly look forward to her future books!

I am going to keep this short and sweet because pleased don’t think I don’t have a bucket load that I could say …I do but I would lose you along the way, so I will just say that I have been truly spoilt this week I have read some fabulous stories and this is at the top of the pile!
The story spans a decade, Shaw and Bizzy may have in painful circumstances, when they were both touched in different ways by the pain that cancer brings. And try as he might Shaw would have had to have been deaf and blind to have been able to ignore this beautiful young woman as she found her way into not only his brother Nick’s life but also his.
Bizzy may have known how she felt about Shaw but he was in college and she knew that what she felt was going nowhere but a decade later her opportunity arises, Bizzy is ready to ensure that Shaw knows exactly how she feels about him.
Shaw wasn’t expecting to feel what he did when he broke his kiss with Bizzy, I don’t think he actually knew until they broke their kiss that this sharp young woman was going to be so important to him.
You would think that after 10 years the path to being together would be fairly straight forward…not a chance. There are a few twists and turns to be overcome first, last of all an enemy that has more than able to put a spanner in the wheels of their happiness.
The story was lovely; it was easy going with just enough attitude. It had characters that I absolutely adored but also one that I would have liked to have found slumped in an alley!

Received for an honest opinion.
I'm so confused with this book. I love Shaw and Bizzy as a couple, I think they're great together but what happens with Sasha is so infuriating. I have never hated a character more than Sasha, which I suppose is a testimony to great writing, but I don't understand why someone would put their characters what Shaw and Bizzy go through. I hate Sasha so much I wanted horrible things to happen, which makes me feel awful. I think it also makes Bizzy seem weak when she's really not. I also think there were a little too many sex scenes, which isn't normally a bad thing, but I think they're used to avoid the conversations Shaw and Bizzy need to have but never really do. I love some of Ahren's previous books but this isn't one of my favourites, sorry.

My rating: 3 1/2 stars
What I liked: I really liked how Bizzy(h) stood up to Sasha(ow), I also really liked the side characters.
What I didn’t like: Shaw(H) really annoyed me. He finds out he is having a son and then proceeds to not go back to Bizzy but to play nice with ow. His excuse was dumb and I wanted Bizzy to make him work for her forgiveness.
How hot was it: 3 out 5
Triggers: Ow drama. H gets ow pregnant (before he is with the h). This ow was a bully to the h and caused a lot of problems. H basically ghosts the h for a month when he finds out he is having a boy so he can play nice with the ow.
Final thoughts: I would have liked this book a lot more if the h would have made the H suffer after he leaves her and doesn’t come back when he said he would. I just didn’t get it when he went back to treating the ow the same.....so what was the point of it all.
