Publisher's summary

New York Times best-selling author K. Bromberg is back with a new Kincade sister and a swoon-worthy football player in an all new stand-alone romance that will make you believe in first crushes and true love.

I’ve signed numerous players to my family’s agency - I assumed winning over my next client would be just as easy.

The last thing I expected was to run into the boy who took my first kiss and broke my heart: only now Drew Bowman is all grown up.

Sexy. Scandal-tainted. Second-string. The crush I never got over.

I tell myself work is the reason I can’t get him out of my head. I tell him his talent far outweighs his position, and I know I can help. I lie and lie, because admitting that I want a second chance at my first love is impossible.

Some lines cannot be crossed, and ours was drawn in the sand years ago.

***

I’m supposed to hate her.

I’ve been told so time and again for 10 years - her father ruined our family, smeared my name before my career even began.

But that’s not what I’m feeling now.

Brexton Kincade just strode out of my memories and onto my field.

Driven. Determined. Grown up. The Capulet to my Montague.

Being with her would be an unforgivable sin against my father, but I can’t resist the pull between us. Even if it means hiding what we have. Even if it means confronting the secrets I’ve always feared were lies.

Great Read!

I loved so many things about this book. I loved the history between the two main characters. I loved how they fought to overcome their obstacles. I loved the outcome. And what’s not to love about a football romance with a sexy QB as the hero?!! I just wish Drew would have gotten his head out of his a$$ a little sooner. Brex had the patience of a saint! And...the helmet initials...my favorite part ❤️ Superb narration. Credit worthy. Enjoy!!

Great Childhood Friends to Lovers Story

“I want to be his safe place. The place he can turn to when he needs solace from it all. The arms that will hold him when uncertainty owns him. The heart that will love him above all else.” Review: This is Book 3 in the Play Hard series. It focuses on Brexton, who is the 2nd oldest Kincade sister. Brexton is a sports agent working for her fathers agency. Drew is the New York Raptors 2nd string quarterback. Brexton and Drew's families grew up spending time together. Bratty Brex and Dreadful Drew. Brexton always had a crush on Drew, but it seemed to be one sided. Due to a fallout, their families severed ties, but no one really knows why. Years later they run into each other and there is a pull to each other. The same pull they felt as teenagers. They continue to run into each other as if the universe is trying to tell them something. But how can Drew be drawn again to the one woman in a family that destroyed his. Drew is amazing and absolute book boyfriend material. With a heart of gold caring for his family and doing what he can to help them. Brexton believes in Drew and sees his potential, unlike his own father seems to. These two were so perfect for each other. The chemistry, the sparks, second chances and hope. I absolutely loved their story. I love childhood friends to lovers, it's basically tied with my favorite trope. I love the update we got on Dekker and Hunter as well as Lennox and Rush. I just love seeing how their lives continue to evolve. I am excited for the youngest sister Chase in the next book! I listened to the audiobook by Joe Arden an Maxine Mitchell. They both did a great job and I really enjoyed it! Don't miss this one!

Great sports romance.

I always enjoy anything narrated by Joe Arden and this book is another win. This is my first first book by Maxine and I was very impressed with her. I think she captured the character of Brexton beautifully.

This one definitely scored!

When Brexton Kincade crosses paths with Drew Bowman, her whole past comes back. She's a grown woman, a successful sports agent and she shouldn't feel so flustered by running into Drew... but he was her first kiss and their families were inseparable until they became enemies. She's basically Juliet and he is Romeo in this scenario, and still her heart beats so much faster at the sight of him. She also can't understand why he's being delegated to bench warming when he's an incredibly talented QB and that irks her.
Drew is supposed to stay away from Brexton. Her father ruined his father's career, destroying their lives. But there she is, all grown up and irresistible and he'll have to face the secrets that he's always feared were lies if he wants a future with her.
Oh my word! This is my favorite in the series so far! Drew is that kind of tortured hero that you want to hug and bake cookies for and you can't not root for Brexton, who's finally realizing she never forgot the boy from her past. I was rooting for them so much! This second chance romance is absolutely sweet (but spicy!). I loved seeing their backstory and how they found their way back to each other.
Narration: narrated by the power duo Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell - a delight for fans!

Suspense, forbidden love and an outstanding narration!

Still swooning over this sweet childhood friends to lovers story between Braxton Kincaid and Drew Bowman. My heart completely melted when they used the nicknames from childhood, “Bratty Brenton and Dreadful Drew” throughout the whole story! It’s a plot that is so enticing as their paths cross again now he’s in the NFL and she’s a sports agent for her family company, but yet also so many unknowns into their past that have kept them apart. “Two kids whose parents were best friends, who vacationed together and then acted like the other didn’t exist after scandal hit.” The suspense of the past and the forbidden love of Drew and Brexton will have you completely captivated on every page! Also, be prepared for so many incredible moments that will make your heart flutter!

LOVED Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell for the narration of this book! Their performance had me completely immersed in the story and feeling every bit of it! Their voices mesh so well together and help the story come to life! A phenomenal performance!

Superb Narration for a Sweet Romance

Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden are perfection personified. Love them so and they were the right duo to voice Brexton and Drew who are so adorable. I loved that this was a romance between childhood friends. Maxine does a great job voicing the sweet, caring, balls busting Brexton with Joe Arden being the perfect match for Drew who is conflicted about the love he's always had for Brexton and the possibility that her family ruined his and that love would be a betrayal.

Highly recommend.

5 Dreamy Drew Stars!

5 Dreamy Drew Stars! Another fantastic listen by K. Bromberg. This series gets better with each one. Scorching hot chemistry, witty banter and all the feels. Drew is absolutely swoon worthy but has the weight of the world on his shoulders. Brexton is feisty and strong and perfect in many ways for Drew. Throw in a second chance type storyline and it’s PERFECTION. ABSOLUTELY one click this AMAZING story. Narration is fantastic!

good listen

Great listen. A couple of mildly spicy scenes and the story line was great. The last 1/3 of the book or so, I couldn't stop listening. Needed to know what was going to happen next. I listened in the car, on lunch walks, folding laundry and even in shower!
