Alexsys Thompson may well be the Eckhart Tolle of executive coaching. Like it or not—and those clinging to old-paradigm beliefs surely won’t—the old ways are dying and a New Earth is emerging. What this means for organizations is that the new model of a productive workforce will be one of cooperation fueled by encouragement; no longer of competition fueled by fear.

Thompson’s basic tenets are both timeless and timely. These are eternal principles that we as a culture have been ignoring for far too long. And they’re timely because we’ve dug such a deep hole for ourselves that there is nowhere to look now but upwards, toward a better, more aligned way of being and doing and, for those who are meant to lead, of leading.

About halfway through the book, I realized this is not just for people in or aiming toward leadership roles. This profound blueprint is for anyone, even those who have no desire to lead. On some deep level, everyone on earth has a desire to let go of angst and step smoothly into the natural Flow of Life. Here is a guidebook for accessing the flow that will carry us into an easier, more peaceful future.

This is a beautifully written book, destined to be a bestseller. If you don’t read it and heed it, you’ll find yourself behind the curve...way behind, and wondering where and how you lost your way. "The Power of a Graceful Leader" is at the top of the bell curve for our emerging culture and the organizations that will give it structure.

WOW! Alexsys Thompson has without a doubt demonstrated not just her knowledge and expertise about the power of a graceful leader, but she also demonstrates her own power as a graceful leader throughout her new book! I have a very deep personal spiritual practice and I would even go so far as to say that this book overlaps with spirituality in so many ways. If you want to become powerful, compassionate, graceful, a graceful leader, an integrated whole, one with the universe, more accepting of what is, more present in the moment, then this book will help you along your path. If you want to create change, integrate your mind, body and soul, find your purpose, create your vision statement, experience positive shifts, establish or design a better or more structured gratitude practice and find purpose, meaning, fulfillment and happiness in your life, Alexsys Thompson’s book includes many practical applications, tools and resources to start you on your path and to help take you much deeper into your journey. Alexsys and her book are truly an inspiration and provide the much needed guidance to transform yourself, which in turn, transforms your organization, your community and ultimately, the world! As she mentions in her book, we need each other to co-create and to make the world a much better place. Making the world a better place starts with you, with an internal journey of self-discovery.

This book is like having a life coach at your fingertips. For sure it will help leaders show up as a better reflection of who they really are, and lots more ... but the lessons in this book apply no matter where you sit in an organization, and apply in every aspect of your life. I have had access to some great coaches and this book is for those of you who want access to one of the worlds top coaches at any time of the day. I really like how you can open to any page, read a paragraph, and gain something special - it is to the point and easy to read. My favorite takeaway is the authors comment about a do-over. She talks about people often thinking that once something is done (normally related to something you regret), there’s no going back ... and she coaches that this is not true. You CAN go back and acknowledge a mistake was made, and you can clean up and learn a better way for next time. Such great advice ... although no do-over is needed for this book. I think the author knocked it out of the park. Looking forward to the next book!

Awareness. Flow. Purpose. Alignment. Power. GRACE. The Power of a Graceful Leader by Alexsys Thompson shows how all of these things contribute to grace in leadership. And it's not the grace of soft, etherial passiveness. But a grace that is intentional and powerful when executed with an eye towards service to self and others. The book thoughtfully explores the challenges of leadership in corporate environments and puts them in context as they relate the leaders themselves. What is masterful, is that she does so in a way that is not accusatory, but rather a compassionate "post mortem" of situations that were impacted by a lack of grace and redeemed by a focus on giving and receiving grace. She easily moves the reader through these situations enabling an absorption, recognition of self, and possibility of redirection that is positive and uplifting in its focus on possibilities. Whether you are an experienced leader or someone who has their sights on leadership as a career option, The Power of a Graceful Leader needs to become a dog-eared reference guide, front and center on your bookshelf.

The Power of a Graceful Leader demonstrates that the traditional leadership role is NOT the only option. I found myself reading and re-reading, thinking and re-thinking as I progressed through the book. I gleaned from the author's transparency, watching as she's grown while navigating her leadership growth through her career. The Power of a Graceful Leader shows that becoming a leader, a graceful leader that others want to follow, is a journey not a destination.
