A great fantasy world! So, I will be the first to admit that I am not usually a fantasy reader. However, I had the awesome opportunity to start reading this series, and I love K.A. Linde, so I thought I'd give it a try. I am so happy I was able to, this series has blown me out of the water. I gobbled up the first three, and The Society was no different. It picks up right after The Consort left off, and yes, you must read these in order. The Society finds Cyrene and her friends in search of the dragons, however, no one has seen a dragon in many years. Along the way, they find adventure, danger, and more allies and adversaries. The stunning conclusion makes you thirsty for more. I loved the world that Ms. Linde has created, it's both dark and light, good and evil, and the characters come to life. The magic is all encompassing, and I can't wait for the conclusion!

A Dragon Tournament? Interesting, I suppose, but not fleshed out all that well considering all of the gaps in time, as well as, the fact that the competition was supposed to be for months but only 3 of the rounds were even described. Vera and Mathilde being Benetta and Malysa was a nice twist but it came at the final few pages along with the announcement of another year to wait for the sequel. These books are rather short in length, but with time skips, random relationship drama, and small problems they have the appearance of a lengthy read. At least in this book the author finally realized that Cyrene is not the ancestor of the 2000 year long dead Sera. That bugged me to no end in the last book.

I’m a huge fan of K.A. Linde and this is my absolute favorite series of hers. I’ve been following Cyrene’s story and couldn’t wait for this baby to come out! I definitely was not disappointed. New characters, a new world, and a whole new Cyrene who has grown and developed beautifully. I can’t wait to see how the rest of her story unfolds!!
