The Wright Boss

Landon Wright is a professional golfer and, in a very revel way that I admire, refuses to be part of his family’s business. Throughout the story there’s several puns of the main character’s last name that I constantly found hilarious. Landon’s life, on the other hand, was far from perfect. Due to an injury, he’s unable to play golf for a while and eventually has to work in the company he rather not be, his family’s. In his personal life he was unhappily married to a complete monster, one that was constantly manipulating him into staying together, until he finally realizes their marriage isn’t worth his time and effort. While he is still married Landon finds comfort on an old acquaintance, Heidi Martin. She is a very strong and independent woman that happenes to fall in love with a very complicated man. As they both know they should, they stay as far as possible from each other. Or rather until Landon seeks her out when he leaves his wife, but Heidi doesn’t believe him for a second. It takes real effort from Landon to convince her that he divorcing for once and for all. Since the beginning their attraction is palpable. K.A. Linde makes it easy for the reader to feel their conflicted emotions. Suddenly Landon is appointed as the person in charge of Heidi’s department and he becomes The Wright Boss. She has a very strict policy of not dating the boss, but when Landon becomes her boss we can’t blame her for bending the rules. Unfortunately that policy doesn’t only apply to Heidi’s life, but to the Wright company. Landon and she make the sensible thing and try to keep their relationship platonic... try being the key word of the statement. There’s several scenes that I love about the story. I personally admire how sure Landon was of his feelings toward Heidi, specially since he just came out of a very nasty relationship. Heidi on her part struggles with the relationship. Landon is her best friend’s (and roommate's) high school boyfriend, which was forever ago. I respect that Heidi is concerned for her friend’s feelings, more so because apparently their relationship didn’t end in the best therms. But what readers learn in The Wright Brother is that her friend actually falls in love and starts dating Landon’s brother. The Wright’s family dynamics is very interesting. I kept wondering what happened in the previous book since Landon’s brother and ex-girlfriend are an important part of the plot. I have to clarify that I didn’t need the information from the precious book to understand or enjoy this one, but since I’m super curious (and by that I mean nosy) I’d like to read the previous book to have all the information about this interesting family. Overall The Wright Boss is a story that’s sexy, funny and easy to read. I enjoyed it from beginning to end. There were some part of the book that had me really mortified, I kept expecting someone to find them out in their amorous escapades and I did and didn’t want to turn the page to learn if they were going to get caught. I know I’ll be reading the rest of the series soon and encourage anyone to read it too. Totally recommended!

***4.5 ‘Limitless and Inevitable’ Stars*** This book and these characters drove me batshit crazy, admittedly I knew they would considering the situations they were in, but dear lord I spent half the booking yelling (in my head) “Do it. Just doi it already!” and the other half yelling “Don’t do it. Don’t. You’ll regret it...and you did *big, heavy, sigh*”. I did, but it kept me turning the pages because no matter how frustrated I got, I couldn’t put it down. This book pulled out all the feels as Landon and Heidi got under my skin and I had to see them get their HEA. I swear these two put me through the ringer. I must admit that I wasn’t a fan of Landon’s in the beginning, and by beginning I mean The Wright Brother. Some of his decisions had me wanting to gut him with a spoon, harsh? Yes, but true. But as we finally get to see who he is, it was hard not to fall into adoration with him because he is that good of a man. I loved Heidi’s sass and determination. She’s worked so hard for all that she has and deserves all the accolades for it. She has a huge heart, quick wit and can play a mean round of pool. Landon and Heidi journey is filled with so many bumps it’s an amazing thing that they made it out alive in the end, but they did and thank heavens for it because they really were perfect for each other. The chemistry between them was intense and I loved how comfortable they were with each other, part of that does have to do with their shared past, but it’s evolved into more and that more was what had me rooting for them to work past all the crazy and get to the HEA they deserved. I know I sound like a broken record, but this one was a doozy. A fun one, but still a doozy. It can be read as a standalone and Ms. Linde does a great job at getting you up to speed with everything, but I do highly recommend that you find the time to read The Wright Brother to get the full meal deal feel of the Wright siblings. I’m definitely looking forward to the next Wright siblings book, but I’m also a little scared because I already know that it’s going to out do this one on the batshit crazy scale, but I still want it, so I will mentally prepare for the crazy goodness to come! ~ Copy provided by InkSlinger PR & voluntarily reviewed ~

even though I knew it was going to happen because I had read prior books I still went and bought it I enjoyed the writing and the reading
