4.5 stars--ONE CRUEL NIGHT is the introductory novella in K.A. Linde’s contemporary, adult CRUEL erotic, romance series focusing on Penn Kensington, and Natalie Bishop. Told from dual first person perspectives (Penn and Natalie) ONE CRUEL NIGHT reveals some of the history and background wherein our heroine Natalie Bishop will meet Penn Kensington, on her last night in Paris, France. Following a whirlwind night of romance and $ex, our heroine wakes up to an empty bed, and an empty apartment, having lost her virginity to the ‘perfect’ stranger. Fast forward six years at which point, wanna-be author Natalie struggles to find a place in the world. ONE CRUEL NIGHT sets the tone for K.A.Linde’s contemporary, adult CRUEL romance series that follows the rekindling relationship between our leading couple. The premise is inviting; the characters are colorful and magnetic; the romance is a one-night seduction of our heroine’s heart.

Giving it three stars because it had just started to pickup before the cliffhanger decided to end the book. On to Cruel Money.

K.A. Linde is the USA Today bestselling author of the Avoiding Series, Wrights, and more than thirty other novels. She has a Masters degree in political science from the University of Georgia, was the head campaign worker for the 2012 presidential campaign at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and served as the head coach of the Duke University dance team. She loves reading fantasy novels, binge-watching Supernatural, traveling, and dancing in her spare time.
