A sexy enemies-to-lovers romance set in the world of the Wrights about Hollin & Piper from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde…

No one on this planet pushes my buttons like Hollin Abbey.

I don’t know if it’s the rugged, sexy cowboy look or the Harley Davidson motorcycle or the cocky swagger. Or just him.

I just have to take out my Wright rival.

We all love a reformed bad boy, don't we? I know I do. Hollin Abbey has always been a bit of a player, a bit of a bad boy, but Piper might just be the one who can turn that around. I love a good enemies to lovers story and this one is fantastic.

Piper and Hollin aren't just enemies, they're rivals. Both work at/manage separate vineyards and there is a competition they're both entering. Both want to win, of course, but along the way their rivalry turns into so much more.

Piper had a lot of ideas about Hollin and some were completely valid and others were the Hollin he used to be, not the Hollin he is now. I loved watching Hollin break down the barriers between them and show Piper who he really is. Because who he really is is pretty wonderful.

Piper was strong and spunky and didn't give in or give up. I loved that about her. Hollin drives a Harley and has tattoos, but he's a sweet guy and when he cares about someone he really cares. I adored these two together and when they explored what was going on between them... it was straight fire.

Wright Rival is another standalone set in the 'Wright' world, but I must say... this entire series is great. You can't go wrong with any of them. I love these books and I really hope that we get a book about Hollin's siblings! If you're looking for an enemies to lovers romance with a bit of angst, a lot of fun, and some definite steam, pick up Wright Rival!

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Wright Rival by K. A Linde is the tenth standalone romance novel in the Wright series. From the moment of my introduction to Hollin Abbey and Piper Medina, I eagerly awaited their story. Linde did not disappoint. She delivered a fun and passionate, enemies to lovers romance, with enough steamy moments to set your reading device on fire. It was a pleasure revisiting Lubbock, Texas, where the Wrights are considered royalty. Humor, sexy times, romance and drama will keep you entertained from start to finish.

Hollin Abbey is a master of two things, making wine and breaking hearts. None of the women he dated held his interest beyond the third date, which led to a string of broken hearts. Piper Medina, a fellow wine maker and business rival, is the only one who gets under his skin. The relationship between these two bordered on hostility. They knew how to push each other’s buttons and not necessarily in a good way, which amused their family and friends. However, beneath all this hostility lay a latent sexual attraction.

Hollin and Piper antagonistic behavior towards each other, while trying to deny the attraction brewing between them, amused me. Although sometimes their actions bordered on immaturity. It didn’t take long for them to give into their attraction and talk about hot. This, however, did not prevent Piper from harboring doubts about Hollin, and his reputation did not win him any favors. Convincing Piper he wanted more than a hook up would prove to be his biggest challenge.

Hollin and Piper made great rivals, but even better lovers. It was a delight watching Hollin win over Piper. He sure knew how to turn up the charm. Throughout the progression of the story, we see how much he cared for her. Although, he made few mistakes here and there, one of which almost damaged his relationship with Piper. He redeemed himself in the end. I especially loved how he came through for Piper, helping her to fulfil her dreams.

The story provided background information as to the reason behind Hollin’s three date rule. A measure he put in place to guard his heart from further emotional upheaval.

I admired Pipers’ determination and her dedication to her job and her family. What I didn’t like was her rush to judgment of Hollin, based on his past, when he showed his interest in getting to know her better. However, she showed her maturity when she gave him a chance to prove he had changed.

Characters from the previous book made an appearance. I had fun catching up with them. Family and friendships played a big role in the story.

Wright Rival was a delightful story, which will hook you from the start. It’s a story of love, healing and pursuing dreams and perfect for fans of the enemies to lovers trope. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

4 stars.

I will never get tired of reading this series. Honestly. I think Hollin was probably one of my favorites MC's and I loved Piper. She was sassy, wasn't scared to fight back and I couldn't love that more

Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite tropes and it was done fantastically well here. I loved seeing the whole 'breaking down the walls' to get to know each other. And the two together are just hot.

I would definitely recommend this if you're a fan of the series and the author. Although this can be read as a standalone, I would say to read the rest of the books too, because there's a lot of faces in this book and it will get overwhelming!

This is the first book I have read of this series and the number of characters and couples it had sort of overwhelmed me 🤣 This author has always been one of my favorites when it came to contemporary romance and I just love her!

This one was more of a comedy enemies to lovers and I liked it as a light read. The characters are fine and so is the ok it. There are no major plot twists or angsty moments but the funny part and whole big family vibe it had was good. I loved this one as a funky one time contemporary read that made me smile and would definitely be recommending it to all the contemporary romance loving people out there!

This was a first time author by us, and we have to say we really enjoyed our first read by them. This was one fun and hot, sexy read. The characters had major chemistry. We also like when they were bating one another, we felt when it was happening the chemistry between them just imploded.

We have to say we enjoyed all the characters and the plot was engaging and there were some very hot and sexy scenes between Hollin and Piper that were definitely fan worthy,

I have to say Hollin was our favorite, just something about his personality that just drew us right to him, no wonder Piper could not resist him.

A fun and flirty tale we thoroughly enjoyed, and we loved that we were surprised when it came to Hollin and what we learned about him and as they say the shoe was on the other foot in his situation, and we were glad he was able to admit that talking to someone might help him moved on from the fast and embrace his future.

High drama enemies to lovers…

The Wrights were back! I was so excited about Hollin and Piper’s story – enemies to lovers, wine. All the wine! Yeah, this was going to be good….

And it was - their journey was so much fun. Wine, wine, all the time did not hurt a bit as their vineyards, their work there, was a focal point of the story and their ongoing feud. Ahem, relationship… Never mean-spirited, their interactions were snarky with lots of snappy comebacks, angry laughter and lots of soul-searching. Was it hate? Was it love? What were they really? How they figured it all out was a treat for the reader (me!).

I’m always happy to revisit the Wright-verse. Laughter, family, high drama that is always so entertaining, I finish a story and immediately start thinking about the next… ~Diane, 4.5 stars

5 star Review of Wright Rival (Wright #10) by K.A. Linde
Having read the previous books in the Wright Brothers series I was excited when I learnt that there was going to be a new addition. It was great to be back in Lubbock, Texas for Hollin Abbey and Piper Medina ’s story, the good girl and the bad boy she reforms.
Of course it wouldn’t be a K.A. Linde book without some angst and there were times that I wanted to yell at the miss communication between Hollin and Piper. However it was entertaining to watch this feisty couple come together and eventually work through the past and in doing so find a love that would last.
A heart warming, romantic, passionate love story that was well written and the added bonus were some familiar faces making an appearance which added an additional layer to the story.

Piper's biggest rival is also the guy she hates the most - Hollin Abbey. They both work at rival vineyards and are now up for the same award. Then a night changes everything between them. Will the badboy be tamed by the sassy good girl? Or will Hollin's playboy ways come back to haunt them?

Hollin's got rules about the opposite sex, and they don't involve commitment and love. But when his biggest rival and the woman who hates him the most, turns his world upside down, he has to decide if he can give her the forever she deserves.

I always love being back the world of the Wrights. They're one of my favorite families in all of romantic fiction and it's because of stories like this with lovable characters with big hearts, passionate chemistry, and witty, zingy banter.

Wright Rival is a book that is part of wright where throughout the previous books we see the members of this family falling in love and now it's the turn of Hollis and Pipper who, as the book's title reveals, has a relationship of enmity at first, which throughout the pages we see it turn into a sweet love story.

I really liked this book, I think the author here managed to bring a romantic and sexy story at the same time. Pipper and Hollis are fantastic characters and it was cool to see the dynamic between these two, both letting their guard down when it comes to love. I think the author here inserted a light drama that I thought was unnecessary and poorly explained, but apart from that this book was a pleasant surprise and kept me entertained until the end.

Hollin and Piper are explosive together!! They love to hate each other and Hollin knows how to press her buttons….
I really enjoyed this story and I LOVE the Wright family.
It was funny sexy and unputdownable! When Hollin and Piper find out that they entered the same wine competition, it’s game on!!
I have to say I was rooted for Hollin since the very first page. Their battle of wits is tremendously fun and sexy and filled with tension!!! The chemistry between them is SMOKIN HOT!!
There’s a fine line between love and hate but are they both willing to cross it?

Wright Rival is a fabulous ennemies to lovers story!

You ever hear people said when a boy pulled your hair, it means he likes you or just want your attention? I can definitely see it in Hollin and Piper.

Hollin just loves getting a rise from Piper, and because they work for their own families' winery, they treat each other as rivals. However, Piper didn't realise her feelings for him is actually the opposite and Hollin just wants her attention. You gotta love the banter between them. Their back and forth is kind of foreplay because they realised it, they're hot together. But also kind of swoony because Hollin never is a relationship kind of guy. But somehow he wants that with Piper and he's so good at it. He treats her right, so damn right!

This book was such a fun read, I absolutely loved it!

Another swoony visit to the world world and all their antics in Texas- this time with the story of badboy Hollin and the headstrong Piper Medina. Our playboy hero Hollin’s long term ambitions of owning his own winery has finally come to fruition, an achievement that puts him in competition with Piper and her family’s winery. Only Piper already isn’t a fan of the notorious town “three date only” playboy thanks to a past incident. But as their paths cross, their attraction and chemistry is undeniable. And soon their spiteful banter and rivalry tension spirals into something else thanks to one unexpected night.

I always love catching up with the Wright family, though you can read it as a standalone, and Piper and Hollin have more of a lighter enemies to lover type story- some tension and a smidge of drama, but mostly light hearted, sweet, and swoony. They’ve got lots of spark with their witty banter and the steamy times are great- and even when they frustrated me at times, they are also so well matched. And the swoony times are the swooniest. Another great addition to the Wright world!

Hollin Abbey is at least for me the perfect book boyfriend. He could be cocky at times, but he has a heart the size of Texas. He loves with all he has, just don't make him angry, you don't want to be on his bad list.
I also think pairing him with Piper was genius. You could tell that they really loved pushing each other's buttons. BUT when the gloves were off they were like fire crackers...

I love my visits to Lubbock, Texas and I was excited for another catch up with the family I love and let me just say Wright Rival was the perfect addition to this wonderful series. This is bad boy Hollin Abbey and good girl Piper Medina’s story so will the headstrong girl turn the bad boy around.
Hollin and Piper may be attracted to each other but he has a three date rule and she wants forever so will this enemies to lovers give them forever or will a series of mis communications and a sizzling rivalry ruin the future before it even begins ……..
This is an entertaining read with all the feels, there was time I wanted to bang this couples heads together but there was also times I swooned and sighed as I watched this sassy, feisty couple realise love was in the air. Wright Rival a well written story with adorable characters and as you would expect with this series, no visit to Lubbock is complete without an appearance from some old familiar faces. Can’t wait to see where Ms Linde takes us next with The Wrights.

Wright Rival is the 10th installment of the Wright series. While I do believe it possible to read as a standalone, it wouldn't be without confusion. An entire series of plots, cameos by past narrators, and a large presence of the entire cast of characters always on scene would make for a confusing standalone if you had never dipped a toe into the Wright series.

While I wouldn't truly classify this as an enemies-to-lovers situation, rivals is a nail on the head for their interactions with one another. It's a cute, push-pull, head-to-head every single time they share a page together. Not particularly angsty or laden with drama, more comedic romance than enemies-to-lovers.

Piper and Hollin run competing wineries, rivals and combatants for a wine award. What a tasty treat of a plot, right?

Truly a good person, kindhearted and amusing, misunderstood by many... Hollin pushes Piper's buttons, more levity than antagonism, attempting to see what makes Piper tick. He likes her, and she would never give him the time of day, because she was judging who she thought him to be not who he truly was. To be honest, this judgy business made me dislike Piper when I was inside Hollin's narration, then I liked her again during hers.

Piper has built up who Hollin is in her mind, seeing only what she wants to see. The tats, the Harley, and the string of women. Cliché bad boy, right? She is a strong main character, a good friend and family member. She cares deeply. But I felt her dislike for Hollin was immature, which I felt was at odds with her personality.

Every interaction was slightly combative but also filled with zany repartee that I felt was super forced, to be quite honest. It didn't quite jive. Once the barriers were down and Piper saw Hollin for who he was, I enjoyed the story more.

While I was thrilled to see how all the Wright characters were doing as they came onto the scene, I also felt it took away from Hollin and Piper. Scene-stealers. Too many characters in a scene making for a chaotic feel. Overwhelming at times, where I had to skim to lessen the stress to get to a scene where there were three or fewer people conversing.

Every early interaction between Piper and Hollin was gone over and over again with the rest of the Wright characters- and there is a lot of them. 10 books' worth. "You were flirting with her!" "Was not!" "You were flirting with him!" "No, I wasn't." This felt a lot like filler, a little bit too middle school, especially hearing it from both perspectives, one right after the other, after we just read it in the previous POV. While cutesy, warm and fuzzy, it became a bit too much for this cynic.

I liked Piper and Hollin together, but was turned off by how forceful the "romance" was displayed. The love-hate didn't quite compute. The constant need to make sure the reader knew both of them felt the other was hot and annoying. Every time the narration switched and they caught sight of one another, another rundown of how much they wanted the other but didn't like them was monologued.

SHOW me. Stopping TELLING me. Because what was shown was at odds with what I was being told.

I do believe fans of the Wright series and Linde will enjoy Wright Rival, devour it in a single sitting while hankering for another helping. Hearts will warm from seeing their favorite characters. Definitely recommend to fans.

My rating and reading enjoyment is possibly due to my mood, where something that wouldn't ordinarily rub me did. One bit rubbed me wrong...

Not part of the review but a little rant of mine.

I will say, there was a short scene in the beginning during the year celebratory party that took me aback. Emily refusing to take no for an answer, hoping if she kept asking in varying ways that no would turn to yes, when Hollin's body language and verbal language said no. Full stop.

Everyone gave Hollin crap for not being a gentleman for saying no. Hollin even attempted to defend himself to them with a very logical argument (which I'm expanding on), and they were dismissive about it. As if Hollin wasn't the ultimate decider in whether or not he didn't want to be with someone.

No, Hollin does NOT need to let a woman down gently. Outright saying "no thanks" was too harsh? He doesn't need to go out with her. Consent works both ways. If he isn't into her, he shouldn't have to go out with her, no differently than Piper dropping her long-term boyfriend because she just was not into him anymore.

I didn't like the narrative that a guy should say yes as to not hurt a woman's feelings. I'm not entirely sure how there is a better way than saying no thanks. Tactful? There is literally no way to tell someone you don't want them without hurting their feelings, and their feelings are their responsibility.

I felt Hollin did the best he could in the situation, especially when he was the one being harassed. This showed the judgmental side to Piper that I didn't enjoy, how she saw him in her mind. I'd say telling someone no thanks is the opposite of a playboy. Taking the offer of a woman you don't want would be treating her as if she were disposable.

On a much grander scale, couldn't the same be said on how Piper didn't let her boyfriend of nearly a decade down gently? to be honest, Piper was a bit cruel and apathetic in their interactions, like she just couldn't be bothered by him, but Hollin was mean for saying no thanks when being harassed by a one night stand from forever ago. Sure.

2022 is starting off really strong with some amazing reads.

I've been waiting and waiting for Hollin and Piper's story as we met and fell in love with all the others attached to the Wright Winery.

Ms. Linde did not hold anything back in this story. As with all of her books, this one can be read as a standalone, however if you've read a Wright book here or there, you would have run into Hollin and Piper in the background. These two are anything but "quiet" characters. They push each other's buttons for all the wrong reasons, until they realize they want to push them for the right ones.

In this story, the Wright Vineyards that Julian, Jordan, and Hollin have opened has finally reached their one year anniversary. Their first harvest is in and they have a new wine that Hollin is betting will be a winner in the Texas wine competition.

Piper is still comfortably settled in her role at Sinclair Cellars and working her own magic with the grapes over in her vineyard. She's feeling good, but unsettled. There's a crawling feeling of discontent and discord in her that she can't quite place. Some of it is watching all of her friends and family finding their people and settling into love and their lives. She's also not entirely happy with working under a company that is owned by her family yet bears the name of another family. One who has admittedly created a lot of heartache and turmoil for almost everyone in her inner circle.

This sets the plot up for the perfect enemies to lovers story. Which is exactly where we start. I have to say this is one of the deeper and twister books I've read by Ms. Linde in awhile and I really enjoyed seeing some of the darker sides of people she can write show up here in Lubbock. I was also really pleased with the amount of depth she gifted both Piper and Hollin with.

These characters could have been written as they seem in the blurb, smart woman trying to settle her life in her late 20s so she can head into her 30s with a plan and a path. Watching her friends settle in and find happiness and contentment. Strong support system and a great family structure. Living in the hometown and enjoying a little light rivalry with friends. Hollin comes across as the overly extroverted never going to settle down, pushing all the limits and the boundaries personality. The one who could pack it all up tomorrow, find a new path and take life as it comes. Settled into his life here in his hometown, engaged in a passion project and having some fun pushing the smart girl's buttons for a rise and a chuckle in their friend group.

Ms. Linde is much better story teller than that though. I expected at least one of these two be have layers and scars. The story she gave these two individuals though absolutely blew my mind. Some of the twists and turns this book takes are darker than our town of Lubbock has seen in the past. It reminded me of Ms. Linde's "Cruel" series in parts. Added in to this story are dashes of life outside of Lubbock with Campbell and Cosmere popping in and out of the story with the rock star life, the partying, and the craziness that can go along with their level of fame.

Life in the Medina house isn't as picture perfect as it has appeared either. Piper grapples with being the "baby" of the family as well as being an employee to her father who has an older generational look at the world and at business. This runs headlong into how Piper herself looks at and interacts with the world. All told, Hollin and Piper turn out to be much more alike than either one of them realizes.

Some of the plot twists were utterly unexpected and left both the characters and myself reeling. At one point, I felt for Hollin. For all of his mass, his strength, his personality; it doesn't protect him from those who are out to hurt him, his family or his life. It's hard to see the damage for what it is when the person responsible for it seems to be the least threatening as well.

Each new piece of this book brought new revelations and new obstacles to overcome. Just as it seemed that Hollin and Piper may be on a stable path, something would shake it up and the plot would turn sideways again.

It's not a Wright book without some Sinclair drama and there IS! It's icing on the cake though. Almost as a "No No No. We told you to stay in that corner. Go back there now." sort of drama way.

I think this book has to be my favorite of the Wright family thus far. That is saying quite a bit given this family's history. This story held a little bit of everything from suspense, to anger, to greed, to manipulation, to heartache, to impeding sense of great loss all leading up to an amazing realistic ending. I loved the way Ms. Linde wrote the close of our time with Piper and Hollin. It was real, it was true to life, and it honored all the battles they had gone through to reach that stage of their relationship.

I am now, like all the other Wright family fans, desperately awaiting the next Wright book. Honestly, I'm really excited that Campbell will be getting a book - but I'm really MORE intrigued with the Seattle Wrights coming into Lubbock.

I love a great love story between two rivals who just are at each other's throats every chance they get that everyone around them will strangle them if they don't strangle each other first. Maybe the Wrights, Medina, and Abbeys are not as violent, but I bet they're thinking it when Hollins Abbey and Piper Medina start bickering.

Hollins is a cousin and vineyard partner to Jordan and Julian Wright. He oversees the business aspect of the vineyard, which puts him at odds with Piper who is counterpart at Sinclair Winery. The Medina Family has been the owners of the Sinclair vineyard, and Piper is its business and R&D genius. Their constant banter is pretty much an entertaining sideshow for their mutual friends, but with the two vineyards entering a prestigious contest, the tension has been ramped up a few notches.

It does not help that Piper has finally broken up with her boyfriend, with whom she had very little chemistry. How could he compete when the room practically sizzles with Piper and Hollins in close vicinity?

Poor Hollins is clearly misunderstood. Everyone, including his family and friends, has pegged him to be a playboy when he apparently has unresolved issues. He is hardly a villain. Sure, he is cocky and sometimes aggravating to Piper more so than others, but he is also a charming people person and has a kind heart. I love that Piper is the key to uncovering his many layers.

Their connection was sizzling from the get-go with the borrowed shirt. Light touches, uttered words could easily have easily set my Kindle aflame.

This book is part of a series about the Wright Vineyard and an even more robust series about the Wrights. This is my first Wright book, so I can speak to how well this book can stand by itself. K.A. Linde does a great job in introducing the Wrights from previous books without being overwhelming.

If you love enemies-to-lovers or rivals-to-lovers with lots of spice, this is a great book to pick up.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the tenth book in the series - and I was so happy that Piper got her story, and that it involved Hollin Abbey was a big bonus! I would highly recommend that you read back a bit in earlier books to get the full goodness, but Linde gives a good reminder of backstories where needed too.

The antagonistic banter between Hollin and Piper has been evident in recent installments, and there was a hint that there was a love is close to hate kind of vibe. However, Piper was on and off with her rather wet and weak boyfriend, Bradley. When we learn why that relationship is properly over, all bets are off.

I love that we meet up with all the gang, and enjoy the preparations for Peyton's wedding, as well as getting hints of future love interests for the single members of the group. I really think that you should pick up your own copy and enjoy the ride. There is plenty of wit, drama, sadness and fun along with a delicious realisation by two lovely people that just maybe there is something between them which is worth believing in and enjoying.

“I want all of your dates. Every single one of them.”

Oh my … sweet sigh. I’m still breathless from another heart-fluttering Wright—a sweet and steamy sensation that made me smolder and swoon—and it’s all K.A. Linde’s fault! The Wright series just ages like a fine wine, as it continues to wow me many books later. Wright Rival is another gem! Linde’s voice is fresh and fun, and the romance between Hollin and Piper is both sizzling hot and heartwarming.

Linde transports readers into the vividly drawn and alluring town of Lubbock, Texas where the Wright family rules, catching all in their charismatic and charming web of seduction and sweetness. Readers get to meet the broody and brazen-mouthed cowboy and the smart and sassy stunner who keeps him on his toes in Wright Rival. She brings out his calm.
He brings out her wild.

Like moths to a flame, this hero and heroine are constantly drawn to each other with combustible chemistry and a deep, connection, soulmates who are perfection together. I just loved Piper and Hollin’s story … the push and the pull … the fire and ice. I felt them so much.

Wright Rival makes you believe in the power of love in this romance that oozes sensuality, swoon, and signature K.A. Linde angst—equally explosive and enchanting. Simply irresistible! Full of charm, compelling characters, and combustible heat, I fell in love with Wright Rival, a romance that kept me turning the pages. I was drunk on this book. A heart-hitting love story that’s oh so Wright.

Another amazing book in the Wright series! This one has a good enemy-to-lovers vibe. I've been intrigued by Hollin and Piper's story. They've been fighting it out for the last couple of books.

Hollin is definitely the bad boy that's been misunderstood. It was hard not to really like him. When it all comes down to it, he is very devoted to his family, winery, and anyone he cares for. Right from the beginning, he starts to feel jealous and protective over Piper.

Piper has some spunk. We've seen her go back and forth with being in/out of a relationship with Bradly. She's always seen Hollin as hot and sexy, but never let it get any further than that. The banter these two have back and forth is great.

These two really are great for each other. While they may be opposites in some regards, they are the perfect balance and compliment to one another.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Wright Rival is an enemies to lovers story with intriguing characters that I really liked!

Hollin and Piper have this push and pull between them that makes reading their moments really interesting. It’s like you don’t know if things will go good or take a turn and become explosive. The chemistry they have though is EVERYTHING. Especially in the moments where they bicker. I enjoyed reading from both point of views and getting to understand the feelings they have.

This is actually the first book I read of this series but the secondary characters seem so fun and I’m definitely going to read their stories as well. Overall this is an easy read if you’re looking for some enemies to lovers, fiery female character, and a bit of second chance vibes! I can’t wait to read the upcoming stories.

Wright Rival is book 10 in the Wright Family Series but can be read completely as a standalone. The book does spend time reintroducing you to characters from previous books while also setting up the next book in the series I liked this book and have been a longtime fan of this series. The author has a way of creating a story that fully encapsulates you into the world. The stories are rich in character development with character arcs that make sense. These are romantic stories with just the right amount of heat.

3.5 stars! Hollin and Piper’s rivalry was teased throughout the last couple of books. And we finally get the whole story! And maybe they have more in common than they think. They have always been so focused on riling each other up that they don’t see what’s behind all the arguments. I love the Wright series and getting these new couples while also seeing how the past couples are doing! Next up is Campbell and Blaire and that should be an exciting story!

Wright Rival is the tenth book in the Wright world written by K. A. Linde.

This story is about Hollin & Piper and they are literally one of my favorites! The banter between them is everything. Hollin and his cockiness brings Piper on the palm but it was so much fun to read about it. They have known each other for a long time and you just feel how they are attracted to each other but Piper can’t stand him plus she has a boyfriend in the beginning but she breaks it off with him.

They both have vineyards and enter a competition and fight a lot. But they see that they have a lot in common and they can’t fight their attraction forever. And they are fire together and you just want more of them!

This book is an enemy to lovers' romance and is a standalone but would highly recommend picking up the other books in this series! Definitely a 5 star read for me!

This was an enemies to lovers romance. Hollin Abbey wasn't my favorite character when I started this read. I love the Wrights, but this one was a little bit of a struggle for me. There's great chemistry between Piper and Hollin despite Piper's great dislike of him. They are from neighboring and competing wineries and when they enter a competition together all bets are off. There's great dialogue, serious tension (of the steamy sort), and interactions with all the Wrights you know and love. I liked it, but I didn't love it. I look forward to more Wrights in this series, though! 4 stars

Hollin Abbey was the absolute best thing about this book. He was cocky but kind-hearted, smirky yet sweet, loyal to his family and those he cared about and passionate about his business. He never really saw Piper Medina as his enemy; she was more of the girl whose buttons he enjoyed pushing because she was as reactive as she was every single time. Think of this as an older version of the boy pulling the pigtails of the girl he liked. Now, as far as Piper is concerned, well, I didn't really click with her right away. It took a good, long while for me to not find her as irritating as I did for a big chunk of the book. She made assumptions about Hollin and probably stuck to those assumptions because she didn't want to admit she was attracted to him. The rivalry between their wineries was interesting, and I enjoyed seeing the previous couples as well. All in all, it took a while for me to fully immerse myself in the story and the couple, but Wright Rival was still a 3.5-starred read.

This is the tenth book in the series – and I was so happy that Piper got her story, and that it involved Hollin Abbey was a big bonus! I would highly recommend that you read back a bit in earlier books to get the full goodness, but Linde gives a good reminder of backstories where needed too.

The antagonistic banter between Hollin and Piper has been evident in recent installments, and there was a hint that there was a “love is close to hate” kind of vibe.

There is plenty of wit, drama, sadness, and fun, along with a delicious realisation by two lovely people that just maybe there is something between them which is worth believing in and enjoying.

WRIGHT RIVAL is the tenth installment of the Wright series.

Every early interaction between Piper and Hollin was gone over and over again with the rest of the Wright characters – and there are a lot of them. Ten books' worth. "You were flirting with her!" "Was not!" "You were flirting with him!" "No, I wasn't." This felt a lot like filler, a little bit too middle school, especially hearing it from both perspectives, one right after the other, after we just read it in the previous point of view.
