I was so happy to revisit my favorite rockstar and (reformed) manwhore, Grant McDermott. And his woman, an amazing heroine who is strong and feisty, Aribel. I love this couple. I love how different they are, how many obstacles they have to overcome, but how they just work together. I love that they both love and accept each other for who they are.

 photo 056a9efa-5bbd-4d48-8b25-579a38021898_zps755b6e4f.jpg

There were different hurdles they had to get through in this book. Ari’s family. Grant’s label. Grant’s dad. But thats life. With the good comes the bad. But they have each other through it all.

 photo 5e5d8fc1-9e74-4277-9bd7-15db530257ac_zpsc73c2fcd.jpg

The first half was a bit angsty, but it’s a K.A. Linde book. It just wouldn’t be right if there was no angst. The angst that is there is real. It’s something that you would expect in a relationship of people their age in their situations. And I love that no matter what, the characters stayed true to themselves.

 photo 0b83f1f6-b8a5-4a95-b28a-aef218b74f7b_zps2db31c75.jpg

Grant may be a devoted boyfriend, but he’s still himself… and he’s not immune to the fact that he’s a musician. There are women around and easily available, he just knows he can’t act on it. And Ari is still that smart woman who doesn’t take crap. Especially Grant’s. But no matter what they go through, Ari is there for Grant. She is what grounds him. She is what keeps him together.

 photo b8f69d09-1fc1-4e8d-9efa-a40b92e06202_zps1ef95000.jpg

There are many things I love about this sequel- can I just say one thing… PHONE SEX. Okay. That is a highlight of the book for me ;) These two are just crazy hot together. And Grant is the perfect combination of sexy dirty talker and swoony man!

 photo d9bc7372-2442-4678-947d-88a9c9cb8f03_zps1d488217.jpg

But in all seriousness, I adore these characters. I’ve loved watching their relationship grow and I appreciate the fact that the author stayed true to them and their story and added in the perfect amount of angst without any crazy and unnecessary drama. Take Me with You gets a full 5 stars from me!

Take me with you was the continuation of Take Me for Granted. I want to start by saying that I wish this was a stand alone. Sadly I didn't enjoy Take me with you, as much as I had enjoyed the first one.

"I'm your arrow, and you're my arrow"

Aribel is still a student at Princeton and she's still in an exclusive relationship with Grant. They have their up and down moments throughout the book. She also has to face her own demons, when it concerns her family and her friends.

Grant is ready to go on a tour and discussing to sign with a well known label. It's his first relationship ever and it's going to be a long-distance relationship, with numerous fans throwing themselves on him in the meanwhile. At the same time he learns shocking news about his father, that can change everything.

I think that the book had a lot of potential, but it didn't work well on this part. I felt like a couple of parts were dragged, there was unnecessary drama that could be avoided faster and there were parts that really made my rage boil. (I'll get back on that.)

There is character development, the plot and situation isn't like the first one. (Although, I also felt like we had a better knowledge of the side characters on the first one. I felt like they were really aside this time. Not forgotten, just not important perhaps.)

Facts that really annoyed me. I better add them on a spoiler section, since I don't want to spoil people who want to read them.

I didn't know how to rate this one, because I don't like leaving books unfinished [or DNF as it's known around here], but I honestly struggled to finish this one. The fact that I lost my interest on the MCs, I didn't enjoy this time the side characters and the pet peeves that I mentioned above, make me give this rating. And for me, who loved the first book so much, feels actually low and I'm sorry for that, but honestly I felt disappointed. On the other hand, I loved Grant's smartass comments and his dirty mouth.

This book had me wanting to pull my hair out almost the entire time. Aribel is TSTL and Grant is a douche. The constant back and forth got old fast.

The fact that everyone in this book is a giant whore only amplified my annoyance. Do I really need to hear that Sydney blows multiple guys every time she leaves the house? And that she jokes around about it with her cousin? Am I the only one who thinks that's weird? Or the fact that anytime a reasonably attractive female is around Grant thinks about how hot she is IN DETAIL and how he could totally fuck her... you know, if he wasn't dating the lovely Aribel. Ugh. And don't get me started on the weird jumble of all of their friends and how they just sleep around and its all good. Do these girls have any self respect like at all? I mean, I get that its college and its time to have fun. But that's no reason to just jump on the crazy rock star groupie bandwagon.

The whole storyline with Grant and his dad was also just weird. There was so much going on that I guess this was just another thing to add to the drama.

All that aside, I felt like the writing was very juvenile. I've enjoyed many of K.A Linde's books and her writing, but it seems like she dumbed herself down for this series.

Would I recommend this series to anyone? Not personally, but I do know many people who've enjoyed it so read at your own risk ;)

~Sigh~ I just don't know where to begin. I was really looking forward to more Grant and Ari but Grant made me crazy with his immature and obsessive manwhorish ways!

Seriously, I almost DNF'd but I was just hoping Grant would get better...I mean I could only take hearing about him wanting every good looking girl so much. And it wasn't even that he noticed them...it was what he wanted to do with them if not for Ari.

description

I kept trying to figure out the reason for that. Yes, I expected him to still look...that was a given but it was just made out to be so much more and it really took away from his feelings for Ari.

But there is progress and I think as they worked their way through things, their love only got stronger.

description

Again, still the Kellan Kyle vibe going on but a little too strongly for me especially being such a huge Kellan fan! And all the drama with her family and his Dad...it was a bit over the top even if it did add some needed depth.

My favorite part was the songs he wrote for Ari and about the two of them. Now those really added to the story! And I loved getting Grant's POV about them. The tattoos were really sweet as well.

Overall, not a bad story but not great either. Maybe a bit too NA for me but I was happy with how everything worked out.

Grant. Swoon.

Grant’s and Ari’s story continues in the sequel to Take Me for Granted. They’ve overcome the misunderstandings but still haven’t quite dealt with it.

Screenshot_15

As Ari struggles to find a place in Grant’s life, and a place for him in hers – Grant has some hard choices to make when it comes to his future and the future of ContraBand.

Screenshot_4

Music has always been his life, it was everything he needed, until Ari stole his heart. Grant and Ari were in love. The life of a rock star on the road, lurking in the background. But it isn’t the road that is the threat.

Screenshot_2

Grant has unresolved issues in his past that have to be faced. A past that he’s used to dealing with in ways that just won’t work for him any longer if he wants to keep Ari.

The angst in this was lower than expected but that is sort of a good thing. Cause for those who have read KA’s prior books, the angst is always strong and can often be the leading cause for damaged kindles and excessive drinking. With TMWY, we do get drama but I was surprised with the direction it came from. I looked back at my review for TMFG and had written something along the lines, that the author took a theme for a book and kept it original, and given that – she held true to that with the follow up. This story could have been filled with cliché rock n’ roll moments but it wasn’t.

I loved Grant and how realistic he was. Although I wanted to smack him upside his head a time or two, I loved that Kyla kept him honest as a guy. He might have been a reformed man-whore, but he still had eyes.

Screenshot_5

I loved that he was in love with Ari, but didn’t become a pussy the instant he fell. Even if it caused me to get a little pissy at him a time or two.

When I started this I really felt like I had a solid idea as to the direction of the story, but I was 100% wrong. I loved that. I love that after reading so many books with a similar theme, that I wasn’t just reading the same book with new characters. And these characters, well... I sort of love them all, well maybe not Vin... still a d-bag.

Screenshot_6

Grant & Ari’s love story is not perfect. They aren’t perfect. They will have struggles to overcome and challenges that will be set before them. They are the type of characters you cheer on as they encounter these things. You fell in love with each of them as they discovered each other – and you want a HEA for them so badly you can taste it.

This is so hard to explain because the writing is fantastic but this is a total case of it's me and not the book. As much of an angst whore that I am there's a type of angst that just doesn't work for me. I was iffy after finishing the first book but since I enjoyed Linde's writing I wanted to give this one more shot. Sadly all it did was reaffirm that this series is not for me.

While I was super curious to see where this book would take the couple and what will happen with Grant's father, there were two things that just irked me too much to continue.

These are not big plot spoilers, but I'll spoiler tag just in case.

1.

2.

I just couldn't. But keep in mind I'm a super picky reader and I'm almost positive this book would work for most. KA Linde is a very talented author and she definitely writes some angsty as hell angst, but sometimes a book just isn't for you. Not because there's anything necessarily wrong with it, but just not for you. So give it a shot, and see for yourself ;)

After:

Grant is mine bitches!!! Loved it.

It's no surprise that I go into Linde's book hoping it won't kill me and this one was no exception. Even more so because Grant is my FAV Linde man ever. I do believe that he loves Ari and that nothing would tear them apart.

This one took me all over the place. I laughed, I got pissed, I got teary but most of all I loved. I loved that their relationship was where I wanted it to be. Not saying there weren't mountains to overcome. There were. They were totally committed to making it work however.

Add in some hot as fuck sex and Kyla once again has an amazing book on her hands.

Take the plunge! It's worth it.

GAH!!! I sooo needed that! Angst queen strikes again!!

After reading For The Record, I thought K.A. was going a little soft. Brady was just so sweet, and K.A.'s H are usually assholey-sweet. <-----hehe. Well guess what? SHE'S BACK! This entire book my heart was in knots with anticipation of what was to come with Grant and Ari.

These are the books I love to read. I need that thrill of my heart racing, the pain in my heart, and the joy when all ends well. There was plenty of angst....come on if you've read K.A. before you knew that was coming. She isn't known as the Angst Queen for nothing.

K.A. Linde is an auto 1-click author for me. I've read every book she's ever written and plan on continuing that. I look forward to each new release because I know I will get good quality writing and fan-fucking-tactic characters. Her writing always blows me away. So go grab this one and settle in for a ride of your life with Grant McDermont.

I couldn't help but think of the Thoughtless series by S.C. Stephens while I was reading the book, I found a strong resemblance between the couple and their friends.

As I was progressing with the book I grew to like Ari more and more, but I still remember the quote that pissed me off and won't make her one of the nicest heroines on my list.

Grant hadn’t tried to stop me or come after me, so what did it matter if someone else got me back to my hotel?

I don't think that Take me with you will be the last book in the series for many reasons. Some parts of the story were left half finished and I don't believe that the author would end the series without a proper epilogue and not even a little hint on what is going to happen next. And I want to see Grant proposing to Ari.

If I exclude a couple of fights in the beginning, I could say that things went smoothly between Ari and Grant. I could see how great their relationship was. As long as they don't fight all the time I wouldn't mind seeing them more.

Here is what I didn't like:

-Aaron (much). He is judging Grant while we all know what he did on New Year's and he has probably done the same as Grant did..
- Donovan and Hollis. If you have read the first book you don't need an explanation. If you haven't I am just going to say that a few non friendly words can describe them.
- The mess Syd, Milles, McAvoy and all of Ari's friends have gotten into. Someone needs to untangle this mess and soon. I am not sure how everyone feels and at this point I am too afraid to ask.

I wanted to end this review with some lyrics of one of Grant's songs.

I'm and arrow
Aiming straight for your heart
Pierce the skin, take you in
It's tearing me apart

Love struck, dumbstruck
Can't think without you close
Can't even dream
Give me another dose.

So baby, I'll take you with me
Wherever I go
Just promise you'll take me with you
Wherever you go

I'll take you with me
Wherever I go
If you take me with you
Wherever you go

As profound as the attraction and feelings between them obviously are, Ari and Grant can't ignore just how different their paths may be. Take Me With You opens up with Grant and Aribel struggling to negotiate the next phase of their relationship after reconciling. On paper, things are great, but underneath the surface, things feel off. There's so much hurtling toward Aribel and Grant at once in this book and the sense of foreboding is a tangible thing. It's not a matter of if things will boil over, but when. But despite all that drama, Linde ensures this story never feels overly dramatic or too over the top to be believed. It feels fluid and real and I was completely consumed by it all. The couple hits roadblock after roadblock, the course of their relationship never running smoothly. The two feel like they're rarely on the same page, and even when they are, some external obstacle threatens their happily ever after. In typical K.A. Linde fashion, Aribel and Grant are on an unpredictable road of uncertainty and angst.

K.A. Linde captures the almost unhealthy obsessive type of love typical in college-age romances. The volatile, tumultuous kind of romance that exists between two people who feel so much and don't quite know how to deal with those emotions. The expectations, the confusion, the insecurity that exists in young love, but exponentially more unpredictable when juxtaposed with the debauchery of the rocker lifestyle. K.A. Linde writes angst so well, drawing the reader in to her tenuous relationships, and twisting the reader up just as much as the misguided characters are. There's such a realism to her characters, their flaws and their mistakes make for a layered, consuming story. Young love is irrational. It's explosive. I love that the author stayed true to the age and the circumstances of these characters. Linde writes real characters in real, but somewhat extraordinary, situations but maintains their believability. Their dialogue, their behavior and mannerisms and personalities, no matter how erratic and fiery they may be, all remain conceivable.

I especially appreciate the consistency in this series, the character fluidity between installments. Grant is still Grant through and through. Despite his relationship with Ari, despite the fact that he's determined to commit to her, he's still the rocker bad boy he was before he met her. So often in fiction, the bad boy is tamed, and suddenly he's a completely different character altogether. Grant's brain still recognizes the ease of snatching up readily available groupies, the draw to alcohol and drugs and sex, his innate knee-jerk instinct to bolt. It's easy to create a character who's done a complete 180, a bad boy rocker who's changed his life for the good girl he's come to love. But it's no easy task to change the trajectory of a bad boy's life and sill maintain the integrity of who he is beneath the surface. K.A. Linde does precisely that here in Take Me With You, and again, I'm thoroughly impressed.

Grant's proclivity for reckless behavior when trying to avoid facing his problems is a huge driving force in this plot. In fact, both Ari and Grant avoid. Miscommunication, fear, immaturity and insecurity put these two through a whole gamut of turmoil that they could probably have avoided if they would just face things head on. They are fearful, fearful of losing the other, afraid of losing themselves, afraid of behind left behind while the other strives to make their own dreams and aspirations come true. Ari and Grant are terrified that they don't fit in the other's world, that where the love of their life is going, they won't be able to follow.

Take Me With You is a question of whether love really can conquer all. K.A. Linde is known for running her characters through the mill, breaking hearts and exciting readers with her angsty storylines. Take Me With You is the perfect follow up to Take Me For Granted, delivering precisely the resolution these characters were meant to have...never perfect, never easy, never wrapped in a neat box, but right and true to these characters.

Omg do you know how long I've waited to read this book? Like forever! So it reeeeeeally gutts me to give such a low rating for this book! I loved take me for granted.. Ari and her bad ass take no bull shit attitude and smart mouth and grant.. Well he's hot and a rockstar what's there not to love? Lol.. And the fact that their total opposites just made me love them more.. So I was really excited to read take me with you, it started out good but then kind of went down hill coming towards the middle of the book.. Here's what I hated.. They fought too damn much, they were always yelling at each other and here's the number one reason of my low rating.. The part that irked me the most and had me wanting to pull my damn hair out.. Why oh why that when ever an attractive female came in sight that grant was always eye fucking her? He's in a committed relationship yet every time he spotted a hot chick his thoughts would go into DETAIL of how hot her body was from her tits to her ass to what they would be good at if he hooked up with them, like how the hell is that okay? I didn't think much of it when I read the first of his thoughts but then it just kept coming up throughout the book and the sad thing about it was that not much effort was put into his thoughts with Ari all she got was 'my hot little blonde' no fine details at all like really? I think the author put way too much effort in him appreciating the groupies appearances and not enough with Ari, it wasn't even like that in book one yet they had just started dating so the way things were put together in this book had me so confused..This book just really made me dislike grant (ok just a tad, he's still hot lol) just so gutted about this book coz I really loved his character in book one but in here? Ugh so frustrating .. I feel real bad giving such a bad review I mean I was so excited for the release of this book that I read take me for granted multiple times waiting for this book to come out lol.. Any way I still enjoyed most parts of the book and hopefully gabi and Mcavoy get their own book?.. I can only hope haha x

This story took me for a ride! I felt so many different emotions and found myself holding my breath at times. There were a lot of loose ends from Take Me for Granted to tie up and they were all resolved in this book. Grant and Aribel both grew tremendously in this story. There were plenty of OMG and WTF moments during this ride! My stomach was in my throat a lot because you never knew what the next page would bring! K.A. Linde is on my list of auto one click authors. Her writing style is addictive and so was this story!

I love K.A. Linde's writing but this series was never my favorite. Grant is NO Brady Maxwell- that's for sure. It felt like more of the same in this book, just a few different circumstances. I hope this was the last book because I can't imagine what another one would hold.

The plot picks up where we left off and Grant and Ari are all loved up, but trying to ignore issues bubbling under the surface of their relationship. This final part of their story is angst with a capital A and I loved it!

What I enjoyed most about this book was seeing both Grant and Ari grow as people. They are young, but the author manages to convey their development in such a mature way. Ari and Grant are strong and determined and stay true to themselves with the belief that they can mutually overcome any of life's obstacles together. If only life was that simple!

Grant's total devotion to Ari is both sweet and sincere. He tells a few lies of omission along the way simply to protect her from someone he sees as a threat. Of course, that isn't the right thing to do, but us readers know he did what he thought was best at the time. Only hindsight tells us differently. Ari's influence just brings out the best qualities in Grant. He's become focused and determined to lead ContraBand into nationwide stardom when really a wannabe rock superstar should be raising hell?

Aribel is such a strong young woman, but we witness that even she isn't immune to feelings of doubt and uncertainty, which is endearing and relatable. After all she's in a relationship with a guy her family doesn't approve of and he's surrounded by screaming groupies waiting for his come on. Little wonder that insecurity can seep in just a little. However her love and will take her way beyond any misgivings because at the end of the day she knows what she wants -Grant

I was a little apprehensive when I began reading this continuation of Grant and Ari's relationship. The first book, whilst I liked it lacked the little extra that makes it shine. K.A. Linde has definitely made up for that in this sequel and completely wowed me and proved me wrong. This is a fantastic finale to their story and their overwhelming desire for neither of them to compromise each others goals in life is sublime.

I enjoy K.A. Linde books...always! She always gives me what I love most..angst filled stories, amazing characters that make me fall in love and stories that take me on a roller coaster of a journey.

Rockstars are some of my fave male characters and Grant, a former manwhore now turned good boyfriend puts a smile on my face. Grant is trying to be more of the man that Ari deserves. Their connection both physically and emotionally is as strong as ever.

Take Me With You is the next phase in this couple's relationship - watching them grow as Grant is embarking on his musical career and Ari is the one that stabilizes him and keeps him focused on what's truly important in life - their relationship and each other. Ari is still as feisty as ever and puts Grant in his place and I love their relationship, their bantering and the push and pull that comes in a relationship.

This story was a light and fun version of what I normally come to expect from Ms. Linde. But I enjoyed it nonetheless. Ms. Linde has written such a wide array of stories that truly shows how well rounded she is as an author and I am always excited for what she has in store for us next.

Oh and one thing I forgot to mention was that I did enjoy the mystery surrounding Grant's dad in this book. I wasn't sure what to expect when we came face to face with his father but I was pleasantly surprised and it added to the warmth I already felt in my heart for this cast of characters.

P.S. HOT PHONE SEX! That is all!!!! ;) Read it! Kyla writes AWESOME sex scenes!

K.A. Linde is one of my go-to, one-click authors and she did not disappoint with this book. It picks back up after the events of Take Me For Granted with Grant and Ari back together, but things aren't perfect. There are no problems in the bed room, but she's still hiding something from him and he hasn't completely let her back in.

They struggle as they navigate their relationship--her with not telling her parents about him and him with worries over his father's release from prison. Throw in a recording contract that could take him away from Ari for a great deal of time and the angst just flows.

Ari is a great heroine --- she is not a doormat and she stands up for what she believes in and what she believes in is Grant. Grant is more than what he portrays---he's not just the badboy rocker.

This book will take you on quite the emotional rollercoaster (something you can always expect from KA Linde books). Great story with great supporting characters--- I want to get more of Miller and Sydney's story!

Captivating! Book #2: Ari and Grant's worlds collide. Ari's rich family disparage and embarrass Grant at a family dinner. Then Grant's jailbird father stalks them both until bullets and tempers are flying! Will Grant and Ari fight their way back to each other or give up and walk away?

Grant and Ari are the same mismatched couple we fell in love with in Take Me For Granted. This book picks up where the last book ended and follows Grant and Ari through the next stage of their relationship. They've figured out that they are "it" for each other. Now, they just have to figure out how to make it work as Grant's music career takes off, and for the first time Ari's perfect GPA is in trouble. In their journey to do so comes plenty of mistakes, a pinch of insecurity, and a whole lot of drama. This relationship is full of ups and downs that will keep you turning the page to find out how they are going to be able to make it all work.

One of the most refreshing things about the book is the characters. While they are still a little immature at times, there is also alot of growth to them without losing who they are. The rockstar bad boy meets good girl has been done to death (which I LOVE, and am fine with), but often times you start with a couple and end with a different couple who have changed so much they don't even resemble the people we fell in love with, especially the hero. This is not the case with Ari and Grant. Ari is still the snarky girl with a backbone who cares about her grades and future, and Grant is still the flawed, lose tempered, reformed manwhore. I loved that he never seemed to be ashamed of his past. He owned who he was, but recognized that Ari was someone he wanted in his life and he was willing to do what he needed to be the boyfriend she deserved without losing himself in the process. Their relationship wasn't one-sided. There was a lot of push and pull that I enjoyed.

The added and unexpected bonus of this book was the suspense. Grants dad makes more of an appearance in this book adding to the already healthy dose of drama provided. I enjoyed this intense aspect of the book.

Overall, I think this was a good follow up to Take Me To Granted. I don't think that this will be the last we see of Grant and Ari and I look forward to more from them. I also like alot of the secondary characters, and wouldn't like getting more from them. If you loved Take Me For Granted then you will enjoy this book too! This book could possibly be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading Take Me For Granted first to fully connect... plus you would miss out on all the angsty, swoony, fun of Take Me For Granted.

"I'll take you with me wherever I go"

And another romance book leaves me breathless! What is it with these great NA authors?, they can just write one hell of a book. And this was surely the work of a great author.

K.A. writes very different and maybe gets her point across too well. But the way I see it, she leaves you remembering the book because of it's unique style and portray of the characters. In the first book it did quite bother me that the f word was used so commonly, and it did continue on in the second book but I think it felt right by the end of the story. The characters evolved but they still maintained roots, and that use of that word described perfectly that those characters were changed yet the same. And after awhile (a long time) you see that the writing used of swearing is more character than author. But you have to read enough of the story to see this otherwise you will critique Linde on the grammar.

My favorite thing about this novel was how the characters drastically became more mature and wise. They got past the petty high school crap despite them being 21-ish and became a strong couple. I was a little worried considering the ending of the first book that Ari and Grant would not last in the long run. But that's the difference between the first book and the second. The second leaves you feeling assured about the main characters relationship. Also can I talk about Ari here?. She. Was. Fantastic. I always assumed she would be the adult business type girl but she became more free, especially with Grant and it was fun to see the evolution in her.

This novel is bloody brilliant, I must say in my best Ron Weasly accent.

5 glorious stars :)

Wow! Take Me With You made me laugh, cry, curse, and smile. This second book in the Take Me series by KA Linde is a bit of an emotional rock star roller coaster, and I loved the ride! It's raw and the words grab your soul just like Grant's songs written for Ari. Take Me with You will rock your world, rip your heart out a bit, and put it back together.

Grant and Aribelle's (Ari) story continues as they realize that despite their differences, they are made for each other. Their backgrounds could not be more different, trust is a little murky, and their relationship is sometimes a struggle...but they love and need each other like the air they breathe...and that is what matters though it's easier said than done.

"I just needed to trust Ari. Yet all I could see was the anger in her eyes and the blinding madness she drove me to. How did we make something like that work?"

I have a sweet spot for rock stars. Brown-haired, sapphired-eyed, tattooed, hot alpha hunk of ContraBand, Grant McDermott, won my heart as he did Ari's in the story. Grant changed Ari as much as she changed him. Somewhere these polar opposites work--they bring out the best in each other with chemistry that is off the charts hot!
Also, I love that beautiful blonde and blue-eyed Ari may look like a princess, Cinderella, but she's a spit-fire who won't take crap from anyone.

"A few months ago I never would have been this comfortable in my own skin, but how could I not when Grant was staring up at me as if I were a real life princess? One he had properly deflowered and was ready to make into his own sex goddess. It was enough of a boost of confidence to make me forget about my own apprehensions."

Self doubt, trust issues, a pesky and painful past, and more threaten Grant and Aril's relationship.

"I didn't need someone else for my personal validation. Then Grant McDermott walked into my life. He loved everything about me that intimidated other guys. He pushed back when I tried to pull away. He fought for me and sacrificed for me and...loved me."

Will love be enough, and will they find the life raft they need to survive?

"She still didn't realize she was the only person who mattered. She was my life raft. She saved me from a downward spiral I'd fallen so far into that I couldn't even see light through the darkness. I wasn't going to lose her because of this."

5 soul-wrenching and sexy stars!!!

A continuation of Grant and Aribel's story

How do you say no to someone who was all wrong for you based on what you were made to believe? How do you turn your back on a self-confessed manwhore who changed his ways for you? How do you forget someone who was totally different from you yet made you feel like no one else ever did?

You don't.

That was exactly what Aribel did. She embraced and welcomed the possible repercussions of being with Grant. The groupies, his growing popularity, her parents' disapproval, her preconceived notion of what a perfect boyfriend should be.. she put them all aside. Because the man was well worth it. He wasn't perfect. He still made mistakes, he still had his flaws, and being with him still had challenges. But he made her happy. He made allowances and swallowed his pride to prove himself. He tried to be a better person to fit into her world, just as she tried to fit into his. He never made it a secret that she was his world. The manwhore rock star learned how to be romantic and cheesy for her. He treated her like a princess he always called her.

Grant soon realized she didn't need all of that. She wanted him, just him. She grew up in a priviledged life, but she never wanted Grant to change to fit into that world. She wanted to fit into their own world, where opposite lifestyles melded, two different personalities merged, contrasting backgrounds fused. They fought to find their middle ground. They persevered to make two pieces from different worlds fit together.

I loved how the author made Grant's character realistic. He didn't morph into a new person by falling in love with Aribel. He was still the same guy who got attracted to hot girls, he still had dirty thoughts when a girl threw herself at him. But he never acted on it, because he knew he loved Ari, and he never wanted anyone but her. He practiced the "look but no touch" policy because he got everything he ever wanted. It was refreshing to see that this book didn't take the usual rockstar route. There were challenges, but none of the customary problems we've read about musicians on the cusp of huge stardom.

He may be a rockstar and she might be a Princeton princess, and they might have gone through challenges like everyone else, but not only did they survived, they flourished.

I was excited to read Take Me With You, the follow up to Take Me for Granted by KA Linde, which I loved. I’m a sucker for a good rock star story. This book picked up where the first book left off, seamlessly. It was a quick read, with just the right amount of angst and steam to keep the reader engaged. It is written in dual POV, which I love. When done well, I think this is the best way to get to know the characters and get inside their head. Ms. Linde does a great job showing us both sides. Thus, allowing the reader to understand more than the characters do, because we are privy to both of their inner thoughts that they haven’t shared with each other yet.

“No matter where we were or what we were doing I would always hold his heart…and he would always hold mine.” ~ Ari

The story paints portrait of two young people in love, trying to find their way while discovering themselves. They face many obstacles that are typical of new relationship, add in him being in a rock band, groupies, overbearing, snobby parents and there’s plenty of drama to go around. I like that Aribel was strong in knowing what she wanted, even when she feared things may not go the way she hopes. Grant, I loved. The man whore trying to be faithful while admitting there was temptation all around. He is hot, sexy, and flawed enough to be the perfect book boyfriend. Did I mention he’s also an up and coming rock star who writes his own lyrics? SWOON!! Ms. Linde wrote likeable, relatable characters in the way they deal with a new relationship and stressors around them. There were times I wanted to smack them both but I like that in my books. The secondary plot was fantastic as well. So much of who Grant is was because of his past. The author weaves that story within the novel effortlessly.

“I can’t have you in danger. If I have to confront him and all my demons to make sure you’re safe, then I’ll do it. I’d do it for you.” ~ Grant

Fans of KA Linde will love this book, as will those who enjoy a good romance with an unlikely couple.
