I hope we get to see or hear of Cyrene. Ugh. My emotions!!!!!! Just the absolute build up book after book, everything tying together, amazing.

***ARC received in exchange of an honest opinion***

The Domina is the conclusion to the Ascension series. K.A. Linde has been writing this series for 7 years and reading the books, we can see how she matured as a writer.

I liked some books more than others and this conclusion was the culmination of everything that happened since the first book. The story changed a lot throughout the seven books and overall I liked those changes. Some of them were too different though, almost like there were different stories and plotines going on. But in the end it all worked.

I do feel like it took a lot of time (and books) for this conclusion and I had forgotten a few things mentioned in the most recent books and had to come back to the previous ones.

In The Domina we can see how much Cyrene, our heroine, has grown and matured. But I missed the connection I felt with her in the most earlier books. I couldn't relate to her as much as I did in the past, but maybe it's because I had to revisit the other books to understand some things.

I missed a bit more about Cyrene and Dean in the end of the story. I would have liked a bit more of it. Specially after everything they've been through.

I feel that K.A. Linde did a good job with this series and it was sad to see some of these characters go. I would have minded a bit more of some of them.

KA Linde has done it again. She transported me to a world of grace, elegance, corruption and all around female bada$$-ery. I absolutely loved all the characters in this book and the entire series. The dynamics among them are fluid and intense. It's like reading about a forbidden dance among those who rule and those that shouldn't. Linde's background in politics comes through in this story in a unique way that while there is nothing political about the book, everything is political. The Domina and the entire Ascension series is an intricate tapestry of deceit, faith and love.
Even if you are not a fantasy genre reader, you should most definitely delve into this series. I'm certain you would find yourself a blossoming love of these fantastical characters and their journey.

I have been waiting on this book and did not disappoint. The Ascension series is the first fantasy series I have read and really enjoyed. K.A. Linde has a way with words and telling a story. The conclusion to this phenomenal series was worth the wait.

The Domina wrapped everything up from the very beginning. Cyrene has come a far way since we first met her. I loved picking up this book and diving back into Cyrene’s story and seeing all the characters again.

So much happens in this book and I don’t want to give anything away. If you haven’t started this series yet you need to! Fantasy was never a genre I would pick up but I couldn’t put these books down once I started. Must read series.

I am going to make this short and sweet because if you are reading this review of this than you better have read the rest of this series.

This book was amazing. It was magical and thrilling and the perfect culmination of this series. I would love to have tons and tons of books in this series.

This is the final book in this series and it was perfection. This was the perfect ending to a beautifully crafted epic fantasy. Linde pulled out all the stops and you are left breathless.

The Domina by K.A. Linde is such a beautiful adventure that you’ll be glad you were a part of. I’ve been absolutely dying to get my hands on this last book in the series and let me tell you Kyla does not disappoint. I devoured every last page.

In The Domina the fate of the world falls to Cyrene and all her friends she's made along the way, as well as a few new ones. You'll be in awe of the new journeys Cyrene must make and all those who choose to follow her. I loved watching her grow and understand who she truly was. Every new place she visits is magical. I just love how Kyla can transform you into the book. I can so easily imagine these beautiful places and ruins, it's so enchanting and I love becoming a part of the story. You always feel like you're right in the middle of the chaos.

So prepare yourself for a mystical, mind-blowing conclusion that you'll never see coming.

I give The Domina by K.A. Linde 5 out of 5 STARS!

I am a big ball of emotion after reading this book. This is my first fantasy series and after reading the first book in this series I was hooked. Cyrene is my all time favorite character and this book couldn’t have been a better ending to her story. I’m so sad that it’s over, but so glad it got me out of my comfort zone. K.A. Linde, these books are everything. Thank you taking us on this journey.

This book was all that and more. So so worth the wait for it. KA Linde wraps up this battle against the darkness of Malysia wonderfully and yet leaves a door open for us to see more of these characters in other books.

The story picks up where the Society left us and it is just as dangerous for Dean, Cyrene and her allies as it was before. Cyrene is going on a journey that is beyond what I thought would occur. How she gained the insight and power to fight Malysia is seen her as is her diplomacy and desire to stop the hate, anger, vengeance and killing as we see at the end. She realizes that killng someone because of what they did doesn’t make them any better than Malysia. Her story into who Vera is and how this all came about was so well written and intertwined into the crux of the battle that you just suck it up like a thirsty horse at water in a desert. We watch Cyrene show mercy, love and loyalty to her friends and the people she is fighting for and see her grow in her powers and in her capacity to love and as a person. She realizes where she belongs and who she wants along side her. She finds her calling in a different way than she thought it was. Watching her go find allies with Dean by her side was intriguing but how she interacted with others and her strategies and how her mind worked was fascinating.

Dean has gone through so much to be by Cyrene’s side you just love the man. MOre so in this book as she shows Cyrene she is not alone and he is there for her in whatever capacity she needs but especially to protect her as she goes to battle with Malysia. His love for Cyrene shines through in everything he does. He is so calming and amazing. His trust, support, and love for Cyrene knows no bounds and it is beautiful to see especially with all he has gone through. Watching them fight side by side is beautiful and these two belong together and belong by one another’s side to support, love and be there for one another in the next adventure they are sure to go on.

ahlvie loved watching his struggle. How he drew from Cyrene’s strength to overcome his fear and help turn the tides. Watching everyone band together to fight for each otehr no matter their differences was wonderful to see. We see people fighting for a better world and a better tomorrow. We see differences be set aside for a common goal We see battles within fought and won and we see the attles on the outside bring people closer. We watch Cyrene journey to find her way and find a way to bring an end to the darkness in her world.

KA linde has topped herself in her writing prose and style. She brings us beyond this world and into others with great world building and interlinks the worlds so seamlessly. She has a storyline that draws you into the fold and just has you on the edge of your seat as you root for Cyrene and Dean but also you hope that those that are under the thrall of Malysia are set free and get a chance to live again. To be free of the hold she had on them and find a lightness within and get a new leash on life. You cannot put down this book for you are in the fight with these characters and cannot let go. Ms. Linde was written a world that you become a part of and cannot leave until the last page not wanting to leave the world until you know those you are rooting for and fighting for are okay and their world is safe. A amazing ending to a wonderful series and a story to last through the ages and books to pass down to others to read and enjoy.

This is the final book in the Ascension series by K.A. Linde and what an incredible journey she has taken us on since we met Cyrene in The Affiliate. This was a bittersweet read for me because I have been waiting rather impatiently for this book but at the same time, I was just so unprepared for it all to come to an end. I was not ready to say goodbye to the amazing and complex characters this author gave us or to the sometimes cruel but also beautiful world she pulled us into between the pages. This series is one of those diamonds in the rough and I loved every book just as much as the one before. What an amazing end to by far one of my favorite series ever.

“That’s what you have to find out, isn’t it? If you’re truly ready to not just lead but to rule?”

The Domina picked up right where The Society left us off, Cyrene’s world is still at war and the Goddess of Darkness is stopping at nothing to destroy the lands and all the magic users within it. But what Malysa sets out to destroy, Cyrene is determined to save. After all it is her destiny, she is the chosen one but is enough to save her world?

“The Heir of Light meeting the Heir of Darkness on the battlefield.”

So much happened in this book and the action and suspense just kept coming. Alliances were made and broken. Love and loyalty were put to the test and there were several times the author threw in twists and turns that I just did not see coming. I laughed and swooned and cheered on characters while hoping others would fail. I had become so invested in so many of these characters throughout this journey that I was celebrating their victories along with them and mourning the loss of some friends along the way. The author did an amazing job connecting you to these amazing characters.

“You are the reason for it all. You were my starlight in a dark world. My beacon home.”

I loved how brave and determined Cyrene was as she continued to work to fulfill her destiny and how she embraced who she truly was. I loved Dean and his love and devotion to her. I loved Avoca and Rhea and Sarielle and Ahlvie and the bonds they all shared and how they all fought and sacrificed for a better world. A world without darkness. There were just so many characters I grew to love along with several I hated throughout this journey. I had a love/hate relationship with Kael and wanted him and Cyrene to be together at times, but it ended for him the way it was meant to as it did for so many others.

“One by one, they swore allegiance to her. One by one…they chose her.”

Domina was a brilliant end to an amazing series and if you’re in the mood for a fantasy series you definitely don’t want to pass this one by. I can’t wait to read House of Dragons!

“This ends where it all began.”

A mesmerizing conclusion to the most epic Fantasy Series EVER!!!

While I am not an avid reader of the Fantasy genre, K.A. Linde has turned me into one with the Ascension series over the past few years. With each new book comes more adventure, discovery and exhilaration for Cyrene and her friends. Since 2015, every fall has become one I anticipate the arrival of the next chapter in Cyrene’s story, and every fall I fall in love with this series all over again. As I rediscover the passion I have for this voyage some of my favorite characters ever written continue, I am again filled with so much anticipation and nervousness, angst and discovery, as I watch their stories continue to be unfolded. This series has done something to me as a reader and I won’t ever come back from it. This series has taught me how to envision everything the author describes and bring it all together in the clearest visuals in my mind I have ever seen. It brought out feelings within me that I never knew were put there to feel for words on paper. With every new chapter, in each book of this series, I have been given passageway into the mind of one of my favorite authors I have ever discovered.

There is not much that can be said about the details of this book without giving it all away, but this conclusion is EVERYTHING I wanted it to be. It tied the entire saga up and gave me more than I ever bargained for. Cyrene has become such a strong leader, and with her friends who are more like her family now, by her side, she is unstoppable! Her drive and spunk in this final book were truly something to behold. As we follow her to her ultimate end game, we discover so much about all the characters we’ve come to love over the past 5 years. To say an author utterly delivered on the finale, is something I say about Kyla over and over again. But this series, she knocked it out of the park and all the way into another world! Bravo on the best ending to a series I’ve ever had the honor of discovering.

The Domina starts with Cyrene’s allies in shambles after a bitter defeat, and she has to find a way to bring them back together to stop the dark goddess.

I personally, have been waiting for the release of The Domina for some time. While it’s not the best YA fantasy written, it does scratch that itch you may have to be enthralled in another world where the impossible does in fact exists. I hate not knowing how the story ends, which is why I had to listen to the final installment in the Ascension series.

I must admit that I was curious as to how Linde would make a full book of the conclusion given how The Society ended. I was pleased that she was able to add some unexpected twists, given that we know that there are certain things that must happen. Cyrene must become the Domina, there is going to be a war and some key characters are going to die. Given that we know these things upfront, Linde does a good job of building up to the climax and engaging the reader. There were some unnecessary bits, that I believe were supposed to be filler and the writing was okay, just as the previous books. Overall, it was good. With all of that said, I do think it’s worth the read, the ending may not be exactly what you expect and if nothing else it’s a nice indulgence.

And now we face the final moments of K A Linde’s sweeping fantasy series, Ascension.

Over the previous four books, we followed Cyrene as she struggled to save her world, her friends, her family, and herself. While I anxiously awaited this last installment, I also didn’t want to read it because it meant saying goodbye to Cyrene and Kael and other characters I’ve come to adore. (Not that K A Linde didn’t make me say goodbye to favorites before now, as is her wont to do.)

A LOT happens in this book. Some scenes make you feel as if you’re going to break apart with anxiety, and others make you feel as if you’re going to squee with joy. The romance is, as you’d expect, difficult because K A Linde makes NOTHING easy for her characters, even ones who have suffered as Cyrene has.

I don’t–I can’t–say a whole lot because I don’t want to spoil anything. I’m also still processing that I turned the last page on this series, and I’m not sure I was ready to do that. It’s bittersweet. On the one hand, it’s time, but on the other, I need more.

Please let me know what you think of the Ascension series and this wonderful conclusion. I’m not typically a fantasy fan, but I was hooked.

Wow what a ride. This was the payoff to the entire build up that we have seen over the last 4 books. I will say though, I'm not really sure that I had thought about what might happen, or tried to figure out how it might end....but, I definitely did not imagine things happening in the direction that they did.

In the end, there was a satisfying conclusion that for the most part wrapped everything up. I did have a couple of occasions where I was somewhat pulled out of the story because of something that shocked me (no spoilers, but the final disposition of a certain second son threw me for a loop). We get to see the core group of characters experience quite a bit of maturity and growth and KA Linde does a wonderful job of pulling everyone together from the last 4 books to be a part of this final conflict.

Having already read the first book in her new series, it was interesting to read about the characters from that world in a different context. I will admit that this series kept me up at night, wanting to keep going and I am really satisfied with the way everything ended up. It was an adventure filled with non stop action, moments of craziness and times when my eyes watered. We lost a few important people (some more important to me than others) but all in all it was a great journey. I was entertained, worried, then content. Honestly, you really can't ask for too much more than that.

This is the final book in the ascension series and picks up right where we left off in the previous book..

Cyrene and her people are up against the Goddess of Darkness to save their world.. Malysa, the Goddess of Darkness wants to wipe the world off magic and destroy all those working against her..
Cyrene has to bring together the people and armies from different parts of Emporia for this final battle against Malysa in order to accomplish her dream for a free world and equality between normal people and magic users.
A lot happens in this book.. I dont wanna go into detail as it might end up being a spoiler.
Domina is the perfect end to the incredible journey of Cyrene - from an affiliate in Byern to becoming an incredible leader, who stops at nothing to save her world and her people..
As much as I was waiting for this finale, it was bittersweet to say goodbye to this world and my favorite characters.
This book was totally brilliant!!! I loved the pace of the story .. And as always K.A. Linde had me at the edge with so many twists and turns.. I love the angst in her books and the way she shapes up her characters.. She is one author who can make me hate a character and fall in love with the same by the end with so much conviction..
The Ascension series is easily one of my favorite fantasy series ever and I cant wait to read her next fantasy series - House of Dragons..

Note: This review contains NO spoilers

What an epic conclusion to this series! K.A. Linde has written a mystically, adventurous world, and now, it has come down to this amazingly action and emotionally-packed ending to an arduous and perilous journey. All the previous books have all led to this "moment" for Cyrene and her friends. So, with that said, reading the Ascension series in order is HIGHLY recommended. Besides, it IS said to read the books in order...Haha!

All in all, The Domina is the "perfect" ending to a wonderful series that totally whisked me away to another world. Just like the previous titles, K.A. Linde has written a complicated, yet intriguing, story filled with twists that revealed various "secrets" that tied to each other one way or another with its "prophesies" and "stories." Throughout the series, character growth is evident, especially with Cyrene as she completes her precarious journey. Although it took me a while to get into it (probably by the third book, The Consort), I believe fans of epic fantasies will definitely enjoy "escaping" to this world K.A. Linde created in this YA fantasy series.

This is the conclusion to the Ascension Series and what an ending it is. I'm not usually into the fantasy genre, but I'm so glad I took a chance on this series because it was EPIC!!!

Each book in the series is quite lengthy, but you would never know it while reading because you just get sucked into this world and, for me at least, I could barely stop myself from reading. I had to know what was happening, so the pages flew by.

Cyrene has really come into her own in the this book. She's strong and determined and driven, despite the chaos surrounding her. Watching her grow and adapt throughout the series was beautiful.

This cast of characters is the best and I was a little teary as I turned the last page, knowing that was the end of their journey together. But wow! Just wow. It was a perfect ending.

If you're unsure of whether you'll like this series, just give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I LOVED it. K.A. Linde is a fantastic storyteller and she has crafted such an incredible storyline. It's written with so much depth and passion. It has opened my eyes to a new genre that I may not have ever taken a chance on.

5 huge stars for - The Domina - the fifth and final book in the Ascension series by K.A. Linde. This series must be read in order as the storyline is a masterpiece that flowed from the very first page to the final chapter. I have been enthralled with this series for years and it has held me in its grips until the very end, never once lagging or slowing down so I obviously can’t recommend it enough! There is truly something for everyone in this series - mystery, danger and suspense collide with beautiful imagery, laughter and a bit of romance too that flows effortlessly from all the characters you meet along the way. Even if you aren’t a fan of fantasy I urge you to give this one a try as it’s fantastic reading and some of Linde’s best work to date!
We pick up right where we left off with Cyrene in a even more dire situation than before and she will need to call on every ounce of her training and magic to fight the darkness. Everyone must choose between light and dark in this final epic battle. Lives will be lost and others will be saved but it was the best reading I’ve done in a long time!

“And the light will always drive out the darkness.”

Where do I even start?? I’ve waited so long for this book, for the culmination of this series....it was worth it!!

I’ll be honest when I first started reading this series I was hesitant. It took me a while to get enthralled by it. I had never read anything like it before. I fell in love with this story, these magical places and the people they behold.

In the final installment of this series, The Domina, we get all the answers we have been anxiously awaiting. There were many parts where I had to just stop and process. Stop and let my imagination take me inside this journey. I’ve never thought about flying on a dragon but now, sign me up!!!

I encourage you to give this series a shot. I know it’s not the “norm” but I PROMISE you if you give this a shot...it will become a part of you!

I have followed KA Linde for a number of years, I have to say, this book (and series) is her best writing. Ever. She keeps improving and I can’t wait to see what comes out next!! Enjoy your journey!!

It’s been a little over four years since The Affiliate, the first book in the Ascension series, was published, and I can’t believe it’s come to an end. While bittersweet, I am happy and satisfied with how the series came to a conclusion.

Like with the previous books, The Domina picks up right where the last one left off. There’s plenty of action, and the book honestly didn’t feel super long to me because it was fast-paced and kept me interested the entire time.

Two things I have enjoyed throughout the entire series are Cyrene’s character growth and the side characters. It’s SO fulfilling to see how events in the book shape each character, and I’m proud of the leader Cyrene has become. YOU GO, GIRL!

I don’t want to give away spoilers since I feel these books should be read, but if you want a fantasy series rich with character development, magic, action, and some romance, the Ascension series is worth a read.

Can we just take a moment to give massive kudos to KA Linde for bringing us this beyond epic series? Then a massive cry because it is over? I mean, I am huge on fantasy stories, but this series that Linde created was something that is so awe inspiring and magical. The Domina, the final installment of the Ascension series, blows your mind and takes you on a journey like no other.
As we delve into this installment, you are thrust right back into the world that Linde created. The twisty moments. The highs and lows as we follow Cyrene. All leading up to these final moments. The moments that make you clutch your ereader to the angsty moments with the romance aspect of this story. You get everything you need and then some with this final book. You feel very fulfilled by the end of it.
Overall, I am so sad to see this series come to an end. However, with everything that Linde has given us through this series, you are completely spellbound by each and every page. Between the character build of each an every character involved with this epic tale, to the descriptive nature that she gives us in each book. I bow to Linde for writing something that is one for the ages! If you haven’t started this series. Now is the time. All of the books are now out and you can devour them like they deserve to be!

The Domina is the 5th and final installment of the Ascension series and what a conclusion!

First, that cover. Oh. My. Goodness. GORGEOUS! Second, I am going to try my best to keep this review totally spoiler free, so here we go!

We dive into The Domina to continue Cyrene’s journey to defeat the Malysa. So much was happening in this book. Characters were lost, characters were saved, characters were changed. The plot was very well paced, and I never felt bored with the story line. There was so much happening and so many story lines to wrap up in this conclusion, yet it didn’t feel rushed. Kyla did a great job writing a conclusion that left me happy and satisfied.

I will miss Cyrene, but I am looking forward to Kerrigan's story!

When I originally started this series I was not a reader of fantasy. I took a chance on this series and man am I ever glad that I started The Affiliate all those years ago. What an amazing wild ride it’s been! We have been waiting on this finale since we first met Cyrene and her friends. I was simultaneously excited and dreading this book. In so many ways this book was everything I wanted. Linde adds her flair of angst and adventure into every page of this book. Every time I thought I knew where it was going and how it was going to end it changed into something completely different. There were definitely some tears shed throughout this story. All I can say is thank you for making me believe in a genre that was out of my comfort zone. I’m sad to see it go! Can’t wait to see what else you have up your sleeves!
