Wright #2

The Wright Boss

Rate this book
A new stand alone office romance from USA Today bestselling author K.A. Linde...

I’ve always had one rule:

Don’t mix business and pleasure.

But then Landon Wright comes home to his family’s construction company with a broken back and a beaten heart and ends up as my new sexy boss. As the office gets heated, I’m thinking about throwing the rulebook out the window.

If only there weren’t a million reasons this could never work.

We may have shared a single perfect kiss, but I can’t let our intense connection cloud my judgment. Not with everything I’ve worked for on the line.

Dating your boss is so very, very wrong…even if he feels so Wright.

The Wright Boss is the second book in the Wright Brother's series. If you've read the first book, you know all about Landon Wright and his evil wife, Miranda. When I saw his book was next, I wondered how this was going to work out... One thing I knew for sure, it was going to have it's typical Linde angst. And I was so glad to be right. The angst was perfect in this forbidden/workplace romance.

No matter how attractive he is to her, Landon is forbidden to Heidi in every sense of the word. #1- Landon is married. He's going through a divorce, but he's still married. #2- Landon used to date Heidi's best friend. Yes, it was in high school and her best friend is now dating Landon's brother, but it still would be breaking girl code, right? And #3- Landon is her boss. If there is one thing Heidi takes seriously it's her job. She's worked hard and jumped through many hurdles to get to where she is today. She has no intention of messing that up. But Landon has a way of getting under her skin and getting her to do things she knows she shouldn't...
I’d tried to forget him. I’d tried to stay away from him. I’d tried not to look at him. All I did was fail.

I loved watching things build between Heidi and Landon. They both took risks being with one another and their chemistry was off the charts. Heidi was a great heroine. I liked her in the first book as Emery's best friend, but I loved her in this one. She's a strong and independent woman who's been through a lot and always wants to pave her own way. I can respect her for that.  Landon was pretty fantastic as well! The poor guy had been through so much with his career and the whole Miranda thing, I just wanted him to get the happiness he deserved. Now Miranda... she was so terrible, there is no way I would call this a story  love triangle (initially I thought it might be). I never once rooted for her or felt any kind of sympathy for her over their marriage ending and I doubt many readers will.

The Wright Boss is the perfect work place romance. It's sexy, angsty, forbidden, and has it's sweet and light moments that balances it out perfectly. I loved Landon and Heidi together and I especially loved the build up for the next book... OMG Austin Wright you hot mess, you! I can't wait for more of these Wright Brother's! I'm just sad there is only one left!
“I’ll risk everything for you.”

Here, we were together. Here, the rest of the world didn’t exist. Here, he wasn’t my boss. We were just two people taking what we could get—to hell with the consequences.

 photo teaser2 2_zpsedcs0exv.jpg

The main theme of this story is forbidden romance. We met Landon and Heidi in book one. Landon is Jensen’s younger brother, who also happens to be Emery’s High School sweetheart. He broke up with her after their senior year and it nearly destroyed Emery. Heidi is Emery’s best friend. She was friends with Landon as well and was there to help pick up the pieces when he left. Not only is Landon, Heidi’s best friend’s ex but he also happens to be married, and soon enough he becomes her boss at Wright Construction when his professional golf career is put on hold due to a back injury. To say that a romance between these two is ”forbidden”, is an understatement!

Landon and Heidi shared an intimate moment at one of their favorite hangouts. It was only a kiss, but that moment hasn’t left either of their minds for months. Now Landon is back in town, and his marriage is practically over. He’s finally opened his eyes to his wife’s deception and his family couldn’t be happier that he’s ending that marriage. Landon and Heidi run into each other at a high school reunion and they instantly feel that attraction that they’ve tried so hard to deny. But there are too many doubts embedded in Heidi’s mind about their relationship. She’s not willing to risk her heart over a man who just has too many things stacked against him. When he ends up being her boss it only causes further complications for the couple especially since there is a strict “no fraternization” rule between managers and their subordinates.

 photo teaser4_zpscvuhjnlt.jpg

Heidi’s stubbornness is no match for Landon’s perseverance and once these two give in to their passion for each other, I guarantee readers are going to be panting for more. But can this couple overcome all of the tremendous obstacles that lay ahead of them?

THE WRIGHT BOSS releases on May 16th.

descriptionThis cover is OK in a generic cover sort of way. The technicalities are all there. It has great composition. The typography is eye catching, and the neon green makes the title POP. It is similar to book one so nice consistency through the series so far. It is just a little bland. It doesn't really represent the story found within. It is a cover that could be used for a million other romance books with no problem.description

descriptionI actually ended up enjoying this one. It had one issue that stopped it from getting a higher rating, and I will get into that is a second, but it was better than book one for me. The drama in this one was a lot less Jerry Springer like. I found it to be well-written and nicely paced. I was never bored or felt the need to skim. Both main characters were fairly likable. It had a nice array of secondary characters. It had angst. It had OW drama. It had some hot sex scenes. All wrapped up with a fairly decent epilogue.

description

My major issue with this one and why it doesn't get a higher rating is the timeline in which the whole book took place. I would have REALLY preferred the hero to have been recently divorced and not just separated. The entire book takes place while he is still married. Right at the start, we learn Landon had an argument with his wife (Miranda) and flew home. Mere hours later he is making out with the heroine and making plans to make her his. Miranda shows up the next day, and Landon decides to give their marriage one last chance. Ummm...OK, with that decision he just became a cheater IMO. Now to be fair the reconciliation only lasts the plane ride home, then he puts the wheels in motion for the divorce. We then skip one month into the future, and he is now back home and the heroine's boss. So begins their romance. He also says to Miranda on a couple of occasions "I never cheated on you" Well that's not really true, is it? Along with the aforementioned make-out sesh, he and the heroine almost slept together months previously when he was still VERY married. So at the very least, he was emotionally cheating on his wife already back then. The whole scenario with him still being married just didn't sit right with me.

The next book in the series is Austin's, and I am straddling the fence about reading it. Austin is a raging alcoholic and an asshole. EVERY time we see him in book one and two he is drunk. On top of that, his family doesn't seem too interested in helping him as they always talk about it like it's no biggie. I mean in this book he was drunk AT WORK and no one seemed to care! We get a small excerpt from his book at the end of this one, and he is STILL drunk and going after his heroine. I honestly have NO desire to read a whole book about an alcoholic hero. Nor do I wish to read a whole book with a hero going through recovery. But curiously killed the cat..so which side of the fence I fall on is yet to be decided.description

Wright Boss by K.A. Linde is a sweet sentimental love story that reunites two friends who can’t help their attraction to one another as they try to overcome several misunderstandings and a meddlesome ex. There is a Wright and wrong way and I am here to steer you in the right direction and that happens to be Landon Wright.

photo 728841eae74302f00f408dab43554b_zpsqzskxexm.gif I tasted her like a luxurious delicacy and then devoured her as if I could never have enough. Fuck everything else in my life. This was the moment when I made Heidi Martin mine.”

In this second installment that can most definitely be read as a standalone, Landon Wright is at a crossroad in his life. His marriage is an epic disaster. There is no love for his wife and the feeling is mutual. His professional career in the PGA has reached a dead end after a back injury prevents him from making a comeback. And so when he returns back home to Lubbock, Texas, Landon is yet at another crossroad with his life, family, and the woman who has consumed his mind.

#TheWrightBoss

Heidi Martin has always been that girl who was just the friend that is until she finally realized that she has fallen for Landon Wright. Fallen hard for the man who is now her new boss. Heidi tried so hard to deny her feelings and attraction for him since she always felt it was wrong. Wrong to have feelings for her best friend’s ex. Wrong that he is still legally married. Wrong that he is her boss. But how could something so wrong feels so right?

photo 728841eae74302f00f408dab43554b_zpsqzskxexm.gif I wish it hadn’t felt so good to see him. God, that suit. That face. And it wasn’t purely physical. Seeing him had felt… right. Like a piece of the puzzle had been missing, and he fit in perfectly.”

As Landon constantly reminds Heidi that his divorce with Miranda is in the works, Heidi is still hesitant to have their relationship out in public. So as these two begin their secret relationship, deep feelings of love begins to strengthen their bond to one another. But what happens when Landon’s soon to be ex-wife doesn’t seem to get the message that the marriage is over? And what happens when their co-workers begins to suspect of their secret affair?

#TheWrightBoss1

Landon and Heidi’s relationship was palpable from the start. I loved their connection. It was a symphony of angst, drama, friendship, love, and passion all roll into one. As a reader you can’t helped but be consumed by their want and need to be together. With Heidi by his side, Landon Wright was no longer lost. He found his home. His purpose. His happiness. His love. His Heidi.

photo 728841eae74302f00f408dab43554b_zpsqzskxexm.gif You can’t forget me, Heidi. No matter how far you try to push me away or come up with reasons that we can’t be together, we will always end up right here.” I pointed at the pavement between us. “Because I am yours, and you are mine. And we are not just a finite point on a line; we are limitless.”

So if you are looking for a love story where drama meets passion, then this love story is for you. Discover why many readers like myself can’t help but be consumed with the Wright siblings. And as far as the next installment, I seriously can’t wait for Austin’s story.

The Wright Boss is one of those books for me that I wouldn't expect myself to like and but I did. It had a lot of things in it that would usually drive me completely bonkers yet in the end I really enjoyed reading about Landon and Heidi.

Landon Wright is the brother that got out of town as fast as possible and tried to make a life for himself separate from the Wright name. But now he's getting divorced, not sure if he'll be a pro-golfer for much longer, and trying really hard to keep from breaking down. Enter Heidi, who he has an instant attraction to and whom he wants to break all the rules for. Heidi, though, fights him at every turn because she doesn't want to become the "other woman" in the middle of his divorce, and she definitely doesn't want to be the girl that sleeps with her boss.

I'll get my issues out of the way first before moving on to what I liked. In the end I did very much enjoy this book but it doesn't stop the fact that I was a little annoyed at Landon's marital issues. His wife/ex-wife just showed up a little too much for my liking and I just wanted to see a lot more of Landon and Heidi without that drama.

Moving on, even with the few issues I had I still loved seeing the attraction that Heidi and Landon had. It was like this magnetic connection that they couldn't fight even though they tried, and seeing them be together despite all the reasons they shouldn't be was amazing. I just really liked them as a couple and that they were so perfect together.

Overall, I did have my issues but they didn't make me hate the characters at all and I definitely recommend reading this book.

When golf Pro Landon Wright comes back home to be with his family and take time off to recover from a back injury once again he is drawn to his long time friend Heidi. The only problem is not only does he have to deal with his crazy ex wife stalking him and trying to get him back, but he's also become Heidi's new boss, and she never mixes business with pleasure. I am normally a big fan of K.A Linde but this book took me so long to get through, the characters were weak and unlikable, the story line was predictable and quite boring and so was the sex. This was a disappointing read for me I'm sorry to say.

If you're looking for a SCORCHING HOT office romance that will set your kindle ablaze, look no further. It's Landon Wright's turn to set your heart aflame! As much as THE WRIGHT BOSS brings the heat, it also brings the emotion and sweetness along with it, rounding this romance out to make it absolutely unputdownable!

"Stay. Stay right here."

"Why?"
... "Because this only ends one way, Landon."

"Hopefully, with you in my fucking bed, Heidi."

THE WRIGHT BOSS is the second installment, but it can be read as a complete standalone. I, for one, haven't read THE WRIGHT BROTHER, which is the first book, and I navigated smoothly through the entire thing. The thing is...I really really REALLY want to dive in to that first book now! I know it's crazy, but this is my VERY FIRST READ from Ms. Linde and I seriously couldn't put it down. Her writing is like silk and her characters rub me in all the right ways.

"Take me," I pleaded. "Own me."

"You're not the kind of woman who can be owned,"
he told me as he did a damn good job of owning my body.

"Prove me wrong," I groaned.

Oh you guys! This book was so mouth-watering! It had sweet moments, sexy moments, passionate moments, and just downright dirty moments. For being my first read from this author, she made a DAMN good impression with me. I can't wait to pick up more of her books! And believe me, we've only hit the tip of the iceberg with this family. I cannot wait to see what K.A. Linde dishes out next!

This is Landon & Heidi's story

This series show cases a family through thick and thin, high & low, will always have your back. You can truly feel the family Dynamic that is the Wright Family.

This is Heidi and Landon's book, you meet them in book one, but nothing can truly prepare you for what they put you up against. Passion, fiery cannot have passion, friends, love, heartache. These too truly brought down the pages of my kindle. I was glued to it, I couldn't get enough of the DRAMA, but also the FUN. You find out what's been brewing between these to in the past, and you also catch up with the rest of the gang.

I seriously love the rest of the gang.

There is so much about them you learn.

There pasts, there presents, regrets, lessons learned.

I honest to god LOVE this series. These have been my first books by this author and I haven't been able to put them down.

“What are you doing?” she asked.

I simply adore the covers for each book in this series, so I decided to binge read Books 1 & 2 in preparation for the upcoming release of book 3.

It was a really good listen. Great narration and interesting plot. I enjoyed the family dynamic and most of the angst in this one, but I have to admit Miranda was a bit much for me. I was so sick of her by the middle of this book! Ugh! The OW drama was a tad OTT.

What stood out most for me was Landon. He said some of the most romantic and sweet things! Once he finally got himself together and decided to pursue the relationship with Heidi, I enjoyed the book a lot more. The forbidden office romance trope worked a lot better than the put upon separated married man storyline.

I also really enjoyed the glimpses of Landon and can't wait to read his book. I think it's going to amazing. The woman who sobers him up and gets him on the straight and narrow will be amazing. I can't wait to meet her!

Overall, this a great book for angst lovers and readers who don't mind OW drama.

I finished The Wright Boss by Kyla Linde with tears streaming down my face, a fusion of sadness with happy and sappy tears. This friends-to-lovers and employee-boss love story is ALL OF THE THINGS: forbidden, frustrating, fire-hot, and oh-so-feel-worthy.I'm still riding this roller coaster of a romance!!! Just WOW!!!

From beginning to end, The Wright Boss CAPTIVATED and CONSUMED me.. I was unequivocally CLAIMED by this tale that took over my head, wrapping itself around my heart, where I was ALL IN. The Wright Boss is an ALL-OUT ANGST and ADRENALINE HIGH! There is pure excitement in friends that morph into lovers...friendship on fire. Add that friendship to the forbidden of employee-boss relationship and you have one FURIOUS RUSH of a romance!

Ever since meeting Heidi, Emery's best friend, in The Wright Boss, I knew I would want this female firecracker as my friend! I share the same sarcasm, quick wit, flirty, and fun personality as this warrior woman. Heidi is my spirit animal, and I ADORED HER! A blonde Barbie on the outside, inside, this Engineer is smart, sassy, and one powerful force.

One shared kiss many months ago between friends who are now employee and boss makes for one big complication. Her childhood friend, Landon Wright, is now her boss.

I tried to forget him. I'd tried to stay away from him. I'd tried not to look at him. All I did was fail.

That kiss they shared many months ago can never happen again. Ever.

She wanted this, no matter what she said or how she stalked what felt inevitable. Because Heidi and I were inevitable.

I knew Landon would be my favorite Wright, and oh was he PURE ALPHA PERFECTION! He is dominant...so delicious! Tall, dark, handsome, muscular, sweet, sporty, and sexy...can this man be any better?!? Landon is JUST RIGHT.

The chemistry between Landon and Heidi is combustible, fire that burned through the pages...friendship on fire. Oh did I feel the beautiful BURN!!!

"Take me," I pleaded. "Own me."

"You're not the kind of woman who can be owned."

"Prove me wrong."

The forbidden was fire, breathing danger into the story. The push and pull was a high, a rush coursing through my body. The tension was so thick, you could cut it with a knife. You can't mix business with pleasure without someone getting burned...or can you?

The Wright Boss is sweetness, swoon, and sorrow woven into one angst-bleeding, beautiful love story, the best by K.A. Linde yet!!! This book BUZZED with a thrill I felt everywhere! I felt the ANGST bleed through me, and it was one hell of a HIGH!!! This book made me BREATHLESS. No one writes angst like K.A. Linde...ADDICTING ANGST...no one.

I did not expect so many feels.
I did not expect my heart to beat out of its chest.
I did not expect my heart to both shatter and soar...equally.
I did not expect this to be my favorite K.A. Linde book...EVER.

I'm so UTTERLY IN LOVE with The Wright Boss, a heart-hitting and soul-soaring story of love against the odds. SWEET SIGH. I still can't stop smiling and swooning. Feels flew high from the drug I devoured called The Wright Boss. This story held and still holds my heart...owning it...OWNING every ounce of me. I'm so OWNED and it's feels so WRIGHT.

4 Firecracker Stars!

We met Heidi & Landon in the first book. Heidi is Emery’s best friend and she is a hoot. We get a lot more of Heidi’s story now and she unfortunately didn’t always have such a great childhood. Landon Wright is one of Jensen’s younger brother’s and is married to the beatch Miranda which you will absolutely remember from the first book.

Landon is dreamy!!!! I don’t know any other way to describe him.

This story is up & down and back & forth. It has funny times, sexy times, frustrating times and plenty of angst.

Sometimes there's simply nothing better than a cute and sweet story that gives you a bunch of feels. It had kindness and heart, swooniness and wit, drama and angst. All together, it created the perfect blend of a romance novel to make what is The Wright Boss. You can't tell me that you don't want to read about old friends who realize they have a spark and want to explore it. That's the stuff we are suckered into always wanting! At times my cheeks hurt from these two, they're simply awesome.

“In the meantime, you are not alone. Emery might be tried and true, but I’m not going anywhere. You don’t have to want a family like that when we’re standing right in front of you, accepting you into the fold. It might take some getting used to. I know we’re an…interesting bunch. But you never have to search for family again when you have mine right in front of you.”

I always liked Heidi, though she didn't have a few immature moments. It was Landon in the other hand though who stole the show. At the beginning, I really wasn't sure what was going on with him. He made some questionable decisions and I wasn't sure if he would be able to come back strong enough to wind over Heidi's (and my) affection. So of course, he had to prove me wrong and do it tenfold. Overall, they were two likeable characters who just got stuck with some difficult decisions. Sure, they could've been handled better, but it's going through these processes that really made the couple stronger.

"You couldn’t be with me. And I wanted to forget you.”
“You can’t forget me, Heidi. No matter how far you try to push me away or come up with reasons that we can’t be together, we will always end up right here.” I pointed at the pavement between us. “Because I am yours, and you are mine. And we are not just a finite point on a line; we are limitless.”

This is only my second book by Ms. Linde, but I'm extremely impressed with her writing abilities and I will definitely be picking up more. This book alone was well paced and descriptive, but without being overwhelming or heavy handed. I think this is a serious skill and the current book world needs a lot more of this! Sure it comes with experience too, but LA Linde writes like a seasoned pro which makes her books even that much more enjoyable to read.

Sometimes, love cracked your heart open to show you what really mattered.
Her. Only her.

I would like to point out that while this was cute and engrossing, it was also fairly predictable. But in this case, that isn't always a bad thing! I'd rather have an author that can execute a story well and do justice to her characters rather than one that will throw readers for a loop just because. I actually really enjoyed the plot and small twists from time to time and loved these two together.

I like how comfortable the characters each were with the other. Granted, this comes from years of being friends beforehand but their feelings seemed to progress so easily and naturally from friendship into love and affection. Then there's the fact that they were each upfront and acted upon these feelings instead of hiding or denying them. Definitely bonus points for maturity here. There's no confusion, no beating around the bush. Sure at times everyone is entitled to a few misunderstandings but everything gets worked out fairly quickly.

All in all, a successful book two in the Wright Brothers series. Keep in mind, they can all be read as standalone. Next up is Austin's book and I feel like that one will be explosive. Can't wait!

GAHHH this book!! I loved it so much.

It was pretty much the perfect book package for me.

Steam (soo hot)
Swoon (Landon had a filthy mouth but then could make my heart melt the next sentence)
Low-ish angst (nothing I couldn't deal with)
The supporting cast was amazing (Morgan is me)
Cover (lickable)

Seriously loving this series!

I am just throwing it out there that I will be in the minority on this book. And I believe it's more of a "it's me, not you" thing. So please take my review for what it is - just my opinion.

I read the first book in this series and wasn't really wow'd by it but thought it was ok. I wanted to read this book because Landon's story felt like it was going to be more intense and angst-filled. But I felt a bit letdown with how everything played out.

Landon and Heidi have known each other for a very long time. Landon dated Heidi's best friend back in high school. They were mutual friends. Fast forward many years later, Landon is in a miserable marriage and yet he can't fight the attraction he feels toward Heidi. Heidi feels it too but refuses to be that woman until she knew he was truly leaving his wife.

There is one issue that prevents them from being together publicly - he's her boss now. So they have to not only tiptoe around his family but they can't be seen together in public either. And then add in that his wife refuses to sign the divorce papers. Sounds exciting - but it felt like it all dragged out way too long with very little excitement happening.

Again, this is where it's more of this book just wasn't for me or just bad timing. I felt myself skimming, ALOT. I got bored with their interactions and them learning more about each other. And that is not good. I felt nothing for either of these characters, which sucks. I sped through the last half of this book, knowing how things would end, but hoping to maybe come across something more exciting. To my dismay, that did not happen.

As I said, I am in minority on this book. I just couldn't connect to any of the characters, nor get behind their story. I wanted more - hell, I was hoping Miranda (Landon's crazy wife) would have caused more of scene than she did to at least spice things up. But no dice.

I'm not trying to bash the book because it is written well. It just wasn't for me and/or bad timing too. If you enjoy a nice contemporary romance with not alot of angst and drama, this is a good read for you.

I actually like this one so much better than The Wright Brother! Although it still felt like it took forever, I enjoyed where Landon and Heidi's story took me. I loved the balance of strengths and weaknesses that surfaced throughout their journey of finding and fighting for each other. They certainly brought me along with them for the ride. There were so many ups and downs that it almost felt real. And you just won't be able to help but beg for them to get their happily ever after already after everything they went through. Because seriously, it was a shit storm. Once you've met Landon's ex-wife, Miranda, you'd totally understand.

Landon Wright's life fell apart the moment he broke his back and was told that he had to take an indefinite break from playing golf, which was his first and utter love. Then it continued to get upended when he finally saw his marriage for what it truly was. Landon became broken and lost that I felt so bad and sad for him. I felt even worse when he realized that he wasted a chunk of his life on a marriage that was doomed to fail right from the very start. And all he wanted was to live up to his family's name.

Heidi Martin is the kind of woman you'd think who has it all and is living the life. She's so vibrant and strong willed that you'd never guess that she was going through huge rough patches herself. You'd never know that she has her own family issues she's dealing with with how well she hides them. You'd never know in a glimpse at how vulnerable and broken she was. How she's also hanging on by a thread, going through something so deep and personal that she kept from everyone, except when she finally let Landon in.

I liked the way Heidi held herself and tried her best to be strong and be her own person, even if it wasn't healthy especially in the long run. She truly needed a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to and who'd just support her through everything. And Landon was just the perfect guy to do so. They just complemented each other so well and the more you get into the story, the more you see and feel it.

There were also a number of lines here from Landon that were crazy borderline cheesy, but they made my heart flutter with how well it worked coming from him. I don't know if it was because of how vulnerable he is or how marshmallow-y his heart was, but it worked. And I liked it. It gave Landon Wright a softer side to his alpha self that will melt your heart away. I mean, he'll already incinerate your vaj and panties with his filthy words anyway. So what's one more organ to obliterate, right?

Landon and Heidi has also been friends for years even before they started working together at Wright Construction, so I loved how well they knew each other. There was already that build up of chemistry and tension right off the bat. And I think it made the story so much more than just a regular office romance. It takes you on a deeper, more detailed glimpse on their lives as individuals, as a couple and as a family. The whole perspective was vastly highlighted with the way K.A. Linde wrote this.

The Wright Boss is a sexy slow burn office romance that will definitely take you on a whirlwind of a journey between two broken souls who find solace and the kind of love that's entirely blinding and life changing with one another. There was also so much that happened in this book that you'll end up feeling like you've been with these characters for a long time, and not just a span of one book. If you enjoy slow burn romances with a forbidden feel to it, I think this book is for you.

And if you read until the very end, you'll also get a chapter from the next Wright book, The Wright Mistake, which will be about Austin and Julia and hooooo boy, I absolutely cannot wait for that one! It was only one chapter and I already want so much more.

Emotional, sassy and sexy!

This is a passionate friends-to-more story involving Langdon, Jensen's younger brother, who returns home to escape a loveless marriage and recover from a potentially career-ending injury and Heidi, the intelligent, successful engineer who finds herself falling in love with the one man who unfortunately is not only her high school crush and best friend's ex but now her new boss.

The writing is descriptive, clear and fluid. The characters, including the supporting characters, are charming, flawed and fun. And the plot is an enchanting, slightly angsty tale filled with scrumptious chemistry, smouldering tension, fervour, heartache and familial drama.

This is the second title in the Wright series and once again Linde has written an entertaining, engaging novel that has remarkable characterization and a storyline that has everything we look for and love in contemporary romance.

Thank you to InkSlingerPR and K.A. Linde for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.

Heidi and Landon. I really, really enjoyed this story. I wasn't really sure from book 1 what the deal was with these two but K. A. Linde gives us a spectacular romance with these two.

Heidi and Landon have known each other forever. They have a history and despite getting close to one another a few months ago, Heidi shies away from Landon for two reasons: girl code and his marriage. So when he comes back home and becomes Heidi's boss, I was wondering if Landon was ever going to be able to convince Heidi that she is absolutely what he wants.

These two definitely don't have things easy. From their desire to hide their budding relationship from family and friends, the work colleagues and Landon's soon to be ex-wife things are tricky for them. And when Miranda (the soon to be ex-wife) decides to play dirty, it felt like it was going to be impossible for these two to find their HEA. But Landon proved he'd grown up and was willing to fight for what he wanted, even if the person he wanted (Heidi) was determined to not let him have it.

The chemistry between Heidi and Landon, along with the friendship they developed, made it impossible to not want them to find a way to be together. There were times when Heidi would almost give up that was frustrating, but by the end of the story I realized Heidi's actions were needed to prove that Landon really was going to show Heidi what she meant to him.

I love this family and the series. They're flawed, real and it's hard not to connect to them in some way. I look forward to more book in the series.

I got to 40% and decided to stop torturing myself on this beautiful friday! I just can't get into it, the characters both hero and heroine are just so weak, agh!
The hero is a cheat, who doesn't know what the hell he wants, a big ass pansy - and the heroine is even weaker, accepting the bits and scraps the hero throws at her. If she is so bright, so beautiful, so put together - why is she lusting after a married man, who not only once but twice has hurt her feelings and put a stop to things?!
One brother is an alcoholic, whose family does not support him by getting him help and the other ones I haven't cared much about.
What a waste of my time!

Linde never disappoints me. She always delivers a great romance filled with characters I grow to love and cheer for, and she did it once again with THE WRIGHT BOSS. I am a sucker for these companion series. I love watching all the players pair off and find their happiness, and it was great to see that happen for Landon. My heart wanted him to find real love and to have something solid and sure in his life, after having to deal with Miranda and a career threatening injury.

Yes, this book had all the elements us romance lovers have grown to expect, but the one thing Linde does, which I love, is she goes a little beyond the HEA. Your average romance would have ended once Landon and Heidi had declared it love, but we got a few more chapters after that. One of the chapters was for us to see our heroine deal with some issues, and it was lovely to get this chapter, because I feel like it took Heidi's to another level as a character. We got to see her grow in more than her love for Landon, and I thought that was pretty special. Linde also gave me the thing I love more - an EPILOGUE! It was very sweet too. I may have shed a tear or two.

I am pretty excited for the next book to see what Linde does with the hot mess, which is Austen.

I was super excited to read this book as I really connected with Landon and Heidi in The Wright Brother and I was keen to see them get their HEA.

This was a great read and I read it in one sitting. Landon won me over from the very start and I was delighted when he kicked his conniving wife to the curb. Not that she went easily but I'm glad he had the strength of his convictions. He still had a job convincing Heidi he was sincere but he persevered until she was willing to take a chance on him. She was risking a lot as relationships between immediate management and employees was forbidden in Wright Construction and she was also worried how Em would react. Landon was swoon-worthy in the extreme and I totally shipped them.

Our couple was so hot for one another and their chemistry was explosive. The sexual tension in the first third of the book was delicious and it kept me hooked. Both are dealing with separate issues in their personal lives and it was nice that they could be there to support one another.

I really enjoyed how much of a career-orientated person Heidi was and how she had to work extremely hard to hold her own in such an alpha-dominated environment. I can relate to that. Her career was very important to her and it's why she was so concerned about taking a risk with Landon - she didn't want to jeopardize everything she had worked toward over the years.

It was great to get glimpses of Jensen, Em, and Colt, and to see the other family dynamics at play. I'm intrigued by Austin's background and what demons are driving his alcohol addiction. I'm so looking forward to reading his book even if I'm not overly enamored with Julia, but I'm prepared to be won over. I enjoyed the sample we got at the back of this book and it's most definitely whetted my appetite.

The writing was great and the pacing was perfect and it flowed beautifully.

This was a five-star read right up until the main conflict detonated. I want to share my review without spoilers which is difficult when it comes to this part of the story so, fair warning, this is mildly-spoilery. I found this part of the plot weak and I struggled to accept it as believable when her boyfriend was part of the family who owned the business and his brother (and her bestie's boyfriend) was the CEO. I worked as Head of HR for 12 years and I have to say that Julia is the worst HR professional and a shitty friend. While I understand her personal relationship could have no bearing on the situation, no skilled HR professional fires someone without having all the facts to hand and without ensuring the relevant authority figures are aware of the situation, ESPECIALLY when this person is a well-respected loyal employee and a friend - you would do everything to avoid having to pull the trigger. I actually got really mad at that whole situation because it was a clear plot device and not properly thought out. I would have preferred if Miranda had used different means to cause chaos rather than going that route. Most readers probably won't have any issue with it but given my background, I just couldn't accept it as plausible or in any way credible. What was worse was the scene at the charity event when the Head of HR publicly assaulted one of the owners in front of clients and employees but she's allowed to keep her job? That was a worse scenario than what happened at the golf event, and it brought the brand into more disrepute in my opinion. It just didn't add up to me.

Also, while I understood Heidi's reaction toward Landon, her acceptance of Julia's role wasn't realistic. She should have been mad at her for not handling it properly but instead, she was mad at Landon. And Julia never once apologized for her unprofessional handling of the situation. Gah, I hate saying anything bad about another author's work but this really pushed my buttons and I hate that because I was LOVING this book up until this happened.

Anyway, that is my only complaint. The rest of the book was excellent and thoroughly enjoyable and I still wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. This is a great series and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the Wright stories. I do hope the girls are getting books too as I'm so invested in this family and I want to read more in this world.

Thanks to the author and Insklinger PR for providing an advance copy of this book which I have voluntarily reviewed. This review will appear on my blog in due course - http://myyanabookobsession.com

In the beginning of this book I had mixed feelings because even how awful his wife was I didn’t like the idea of him kissing Heidi. Adding on that he kept going back to his wife is wasn’t a great beginning.

But then the book really started I got really in to it, the story and their romance became really cute and beautiful.
They had obstacles like in every day life and definitely in books, both small and big ones like she was the best friend of his ex-girlfriend and he was her boss now.
Even finding out that her dad was in prison was a interesting aspect it brought drama and even a few tears.

I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next one.

5 Wright is Right Again Crowns

If it is at all possible, I am more in love with Landon and Heidi than Jensen and Em, and I absolutely adored them. The Wright Boss has all the angst and heat that makes a forbidden romance so delectable, and I was captivated from the first chapter.

Landon is a hero that grew on me. In book one, The Wright Brother, and at the beginning of this story, Landon was kind of a push over with his wife/ex, Miranda. I mean how many chances can you give someone who clearly manipulates everything. His growth throughout the novel, though, turns him into a hero to adore, and I ended up really loving the way he stands up for Heidi and their relationship, showing that he won't cave.

Heidi is a pretty independent and somewhat closed off to an extent. She struggles to put herself out there, but her ability to resist her desires out respect for Landon and Miranda's marriage earns her major respect from readers. The inevitable blow-up between the two brings out the more volatile side of her character, but when push comes to shove she defends and supports the man she loves

The chemistry from the very beginning is explosive for these two. K.A. Linde dangles their forbidden courtship in our faces from the very beginning, and like Landon and Heidi, we crave their connection and their eventual exposure to the world. Readers will need these two to get their HEA. The conflict, especially who causes it, is not a surprise, but it was well developed through the plot, and the falling action and resulting resolution to the story really fit with the character development. In true romance fashion, the epilogue is fantastic and will leave readers with that gooey heartfelt happiness.

The Wright family just keeps getting better and better. They are crazy, yet incredibly supportive. Their love for one another is evident, and the way the author intertwines the romance with the familial relationship makes for fantastic reading. The Wright Boss should definitely be making it to your eReader!

The common denominator in almost all of my favorite KA Linde books is a total jerk of a hero that eventually becomes a character I love the hell out of. When Landon Wright agrees to give his crazy wife one more chance AFTER making plans to get the ball rolling with Heidi, I wanted to throw something. I was immediately enraged and that was also the point I decided I was completely invested in this book. There's nothing like a grade-A asshole to make me fall in love with a book, to make me completely obsessed with seeing him get knocked down a peg before fully deserving the girl. While Landon turned out to be more of a nice guy just going through a seriously rough period in his life (read: his wife is a bitch, his career might be over, he just screwed things up with the woman he truly wants...) I still remained totally glued to these pages.

Essentially, this is a friends to enemies to lovers office romance. Heidi and Landon go way back to high school, having remained mostly in each other's friend zones aside from one stolen kiss. But after having her feelings toyed with for the last time at their high school reunion, Heidi writes Landon off for good... Until he becomes her new boss. This crazy dynamic, of course, allows for insane sexual tension, fierce forbidden attraction and tons of snarky banter. The Wright Boss is packed with angst, loaded with steam, and filled to the brim with signature KA Linde drama. With every turn of the page, I fell further and further into this storyline. It's delicious and infuriating and so so sexy.

It's not often the nice guy steals my heart, but the sweet Wright Boss certainly did. Landon, with his swoony one-liners, and Heidi, despite her occasional immature outbursts, together make for a sweet and sexy off-limits office romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. This book is super sexy, super cute, loaded with drama and push and pull, and it satisfies my romance cravings the way only KA Linde can.

This is becoming a fun series. I wasn't sure how I was going to like Landon given his previous relationship with Emery and then his obnoxious wife, but I really loved how fiercely he pursued Heidi. I feel like we got to see a lot more of Morgan in this as well and can't wait for her story as well, but I'm dying to figure out Austin and Julia first.
