Yes, we shared one kiss in a darkened office to make his ex jealous. But it wasn’t real. Was it?

I’m sure I can get through this. Until we get to the house and there’s only one bed.

I love the Wright family so much! This is one of those fictional families I will never grow tired of reading about. After reading Jordan and Annie’s book, I was so excited to get to Jordan’s brother Julian and Annie’s friend Jen’s story!

Jen and Julian are friends and run in the same circle. Jen needs a date to take to her brother’s college graduation and Julian needs someone to come to a gala with him since his wicked ex will be present. The solution… they go together as boyfriend/girlfriend, even though they’re just friends. For now anyways.

I love a good fake dating romance. My favorite part about these types of books is watching that fake relationship turn into something real. Witnessing that is so beautiful! This was such a sweet and romantic book and I loved watching Jen grow and change. I feel like she gained her confidence back through this story and it was amazing to see!

Julian and Jen were a fantastic couple and I loved them together! This book held my attention from start to finish. These books are always so enthralling and easy to read. If you’re looking for a steamy and fun romance that has such great family/friendship elements pick this one up! It can definitely be read as a stand alone, but I recommend checking out all the ‘Wright’ books!

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.I am glad for the chance to re-visit the Wright clan. This time we are getting Julian and Jennifer’s story. Serves Me Wright. The events of this installment occurred three years after Wright With Benefits.

After a string of bad dates, Jennifer created her ninety-day rule of no guys and no dating. However, she never counted on her fantasies in relation to Julian Wright coming to life. Her attraction to Julian has grown over the years, but he did not know she felt this way, and she never knew her feelings were reciprocated. Because of misunderstandings, their relationship never went beyond friend zone. Occasions arose where they both needed dates and so they agreed to fake date. However, their agreement to fake date to appease her overbearing mother and make Julian’s toxic ex jealous would open the door to the real thing.

Jennifer suffers from social anxiety, but is most comfortable when behind her camera. Behind the camera she achieved success despite negative feedback from her family. Thank goodness for the support of her friends. Julian appears to have it all together. However, the deeper one gets into the story, one discovers he too has his share of issues. A toxic ex-girlfriend who would stop at nothing to get back into his life and family secrets which will shake up his world.

I loved Julian and Jennifer as a couple. Despite being opposites, they brought out the best in each other. All was not perfect between them, though. Secrets on both their parts threatened their budding relationship. I enjoyed the romance, which was  a mixture of sweet and steamy with humour and a smidgen of  drama added to the mix.

I had fun catching up with the characters from the previous books. Seeing where they are at in their relationships and what has been happening their lives added to the enjoyment of the story. Introducing new characters also added a little intrigue.

Despite its predictability, I had a great time with the story. I loved how the Linde dealt with the issue of anxiety and depression. I saw the reason Jennifer would hide that part of her from Julian. When you are raised to believe that such issues should be kept hidden for fear of being called crazy, then you would want to keep that part of your life secret.

Conclusion/Recommendation

Serves Me Wright is a wonderful addition to the series, and I had fun revisiting the world of the Wrights. Readers who enjoy contemporary romance may want to consider adding  this to their reading list. This review was originally posted on Totally Addicted to Reading

“You’re a gem. A revelation.”

I’ll never get enough of the Wright world that K.A. Linde has magically and masterfully brought to life. Serves Me Wright is the latest sensation in the steamy and dreamy Wright saga, and oh my did this story sweep me away! I was head-over-heels in love with the Jordan, Jennifer, and everyone and everything Wright.

Serves Me Wright is the classic opposites attract story simmering in a friends-to-lovers meets fake dating trope. The heroine and hero need a fake date partner. For these two friends, it seems like a win-win situation.

The photographer heroine, Jennifer—sweet, shy-ish, stunning, and smart—is relatable and I adored her. I loved witnessing this heroine morph from reserved caterpillar to bold butterfly, gaining confidence, courage, and strength as she slayed every demon that came her way. The wine owner and soccer player hero, Jordan, is Jennifer’s perfect match, bold, fun, and oh so handsome.

From the first page to the last, I felt the surge of electricity from this hero and heroine, zapping me with heat and hope anticipation. Jordan and Jennifer are a fusion of fire and feels who burn together, stunning and special soulmates whose story I’m glad K.A. Linde told. I love the depth Linde brings to her characters, casting a spotlight on not only the hero and heroine, but their friends and families too.

Serves Me Wright is as sensual as it is sweet, and so much more than a romance. This spellbinding story shows the strong bond and value of family and friends who are family, featuring characters that tackle tough topics as they rise after falling. Full of charm, compelling characters, and combustible heat, readers will fall hard for this heart-hitting love story that’s oh so Wright. I wholeheartedly loved this relatable romance.

Julian and Jennifer frustrated me at times with the lack of communication. Other times I was swooning. This story is heavier than some of the Wright books but it is balanced with funny, sexy, and sweet moments.

Fake? I don’t think so….

As everything between Julian and Jennifer felt warm, real and oh so heated! Junifer (or Jenian – can’t make up mind which yet) had sparks from the beginning. Friendship, real friendship, may have been where they were but where they were going was a lot more complicated…

The Wright family has always been about loyalty and love. Secrets have plagued them and that is evident in Julian and Jen’s story. Fake or not, they were getting to know each other deeper and their sweet, humour-filled back and forth was going to get steamy and even sweeter. With secrets roiling beneath the surface, they would be sorely tested. Throw in the pressure of a new business, exes and family, family, family and I devoured their story.

Catching up with the whole Wright clan is always a bonus in every instalment and this revealed even more layers in their tight family. With a tension-filled climax, this story ended in a great HEA and with a promise of more to come. Oh yeah – bring it on! ~Diane, 5 stars

Serves me Wright was DREAMSICLE!!

K.A Linde once again got it Wright! I love the Wright family and feel like I’m part of their inner circle. It was great to meet again the Characters and I couldn’t wait to read the story of the cousin Julian with Jennifer.

Julian and Jennifer are friends and there’s nothing that they won’t do for each other. Julian is the guy that girls dream about and Jennifer always had a crush on him- “all her friends know that but Julian.
After splitting up from evil Ashley, Julian grew closer to Jennifer but finds it hard to read her.

They are attracted to each other but don’t know how to cross the line… so why not start a fake relationship?

Julian is hardworking and don’t want to let his family down… things got a bit complicated when someone from his past reappears.

Jennifer … I love her so much and I could feel her insecurities and battle with mental health.
I would have loved to have a word or two with her mom!!

“I was always the girl who wanted the guy to see the real me, but it never happened that way.”

Julian completes her but to give their relationship a real go they are going to need to be honest with each other and more…

Gorgeously romantic, as well as a story about friendship and secrets; I never wanted it to end.

I really enjoyed Jennifer and Julian's story.

Jennifer struggles with anxiety. She is very relaxed and comfortable when she's behind a camera. I felt for her at times. Ashleigh was a nightmare of an ex to have to deal with but I think she handled her well for the most part. I love that Jen fits right in with everyone even if she doesn't see it. Julian is a good match for her.

Julian is one of the Wright cousins. He's pretty laid back for the most part. He's coming out of a 'toxic', for lack of a better word, relationship. His ex Ashleigh is horrible. I wanted to slap him at one point when it came to her. He was really being an idiot...lol He opened a winery with his brother and cousin. He has a lot of pressure on his shoulders and we see him struggle a little. Jen is a good match for him. They both ground each other.

There were some twists in this one I didn't see coming. I felt for Julian and Jordan in this one. Overall it was a great book!

2.5 ⭐️ the premise was good. I liked Julian. Jennifer being a budding photographer was good. My sister has lived in Lubbock for years and I’ve been to some of the places mentioned in the book so that was amusing. But there are just too many issues. Grammatical errors. Switching from first to third person and then back to first all on a single page. That sort of editing issue is maddening. And then suddenly there was a page or two that got political and it didn’t have to in order to make the point. Not my thing in an escape read.

While I have seriously loved some of the Wright series books, for me, this was not my favorite one. This is Jen and Julian's story. The last book left us with Julian's ex betraying him and breaking up. I have to say I was not a Julian fan in that book. His story did sway my feelings for him. Jen and Julian have hid feelings from each other for a few years now. They have steadily remained in the friend zone but secretly pined for each other.

When circumstances have them both pretending to be each other's significant other, those feelings for each other start to surface. Neither is sure how to handle them. I will say I could see this coming and had me skimming a few pages. But this was a solid book and will look forward to the next in this series. However, Julian's story was not my favorite one.

I love reading about the Wright Family, with each book we get to know a little more about one of them, and of course we get the chance to review the entire clan. In this book it's Julian and Jeniffer's turn to tell their story where it all starts with a fake dating.

The story of these two characters is predictable, but lovely to see how these two already felt something for each other and through this fake relationship managed to let the feelings speak louder and we can see the beginning of a romance between them. Their story is sweet, fun, romantic and just the right amount of anguish.Jeniffer is a great girl who feels like the black sheep of the family, throughout the book we see her finally able to let go of her insecurities and gain confidence. And Julian is a perfect good guy. Together they are great.

Serves me wright brings a captivating story to read, and even though it's not my favorite of this series, it's still a solid read and left me curious about the next book.

So, if you are wondering if you can jump into this series in the middle and still know what is going on, the answer is YES. I have several of these on my TBR and jumped in with Julian and Jennifer and was alright.

This was pretty good. There were A LOT of side characters here. Some from previous books, some will be in upcoming books. I kind of felt that I missed some of the bonding between characters from not having been with this family from the beginning, but I still kept up ok.

I liked Julian and Jennifer. I especially liked watching Jennifer become a stronger woman in here. I am going to have to go back and read some of the previous books now that I have gotten a taste :)

I received a free copy of this title to read and review for Wicked Reads

Serves me Wright is the 9th installment in the Wright series. I would suggest against reading as a standalone, as the connection between the hero and heroine started in previous installments. I have not read all the novels in the series but I did read the previous installment, so I understand the dynamics, which may help reduce any confusion a new reader would experience. That being said, one of these days, I must sit down and start at the beginning, curious to see if the emotional payoff is better once I read the novels back-to-back.

Julian has issues, the type of issues that will either resonate with the reader or not. I was able to connect with Julian, understanding the layers because they hit close to home in some ways, personality wise. Well-meaning with his heart in the right place, yet emotionally closed off, putting people at a distance, Julian is a reserved soul. To add insult to injury, he has trust issues due to his ex, an ex who just will not scram. Worse yet, he has his own version of daddy issues, fearing he'll behave as the man has in the past. Because of these issues, Julian refuses to connect with anyone on an emotional level, driven by fear and trust issues. This combination makes for a dynamic hero.

Jennifer is a classic wallflower, sweet and innocent, shy and a little bit unsure of herself. Beneath the insecurities is a spine of steel that will reveal itself once challenged. Intelligent, a beauty who doesn't realize she's beautiful until Julian comes along. Anyone who suffers from even the mildest form of anxiety will immediately understand Jennifer's struggles.

Two of my favorite premises, fake-date and opposites attract. Julian and Jennifer are a perfect balance, challenging the other to break out of their respective shells, so to speak. The romance was front and center, but a bit too predictable for me to call it a page-turner. Just the right amount of angst to make the heart clench, loads of pining from past installments, but a classic romance where you didn't have to worry about the HEA.

Where Linde shines with this series is with the family dynamics, which is what has me wishing I'd started from page one of book one to truly immerse myself in the Wright family she's created. While I love me the tension and angst of a fake-date premise, am warmed by the opposites attract balance, I'm a total sucker for large family drama.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

This is the ninth book in the series. I have read many of them, and whilst each is rich in its own right, they are even better with some context and understanding of the family dynamics and business links!

Julian Wright is a serious man. He works all the time, and is insistent on not repeating the sins of his father. He cannot help but deny himself any serious relationship, in the fear that he will behave badly and leave his family too. His last girlfriend, who betrayed him in the worst way, is still trying to worm her way into his life.

Jennifer works for the Wright Vineyard as their in-house photographer. Although she had the glamour of international assignments, she has decided that she needs time with her friends and the certainty of work close to home. The only downside is being near her very negative Mum, who still believes that she should have been a pharmacist, not play at taking pictures. Being with her friends makes it worthwhile, although it also puts her in a position to see a lot of Julian, the subject of a long time crush. The did have a moment, four years ago, but nothing since. Living with anxiety, mostly under control thanks to medication and therapy, Jennifer is nervous of even thinking about the man, that is just how much he affects her.

One evening, and they find themselves in a fake relationship. Initially set up to provide cover for upcoming events - now they both wish it were for real and don't know how to escape from the deal.
As they allow each other little steps into their private lives, it is quite difficult as a reader to not want to give them advice about how far to go, and when to keep quiet. Jen's friends do a good job of being supportive, but both of them are very private people, and also very respectful of each other.

We get to catch up with previous couples, and even attend a wedding. There are more Wright family revelations, which will be interesting in future installments ... as always an engaging and enjoyable read.

I love finding my way back into the Wright world with every new story- stories that are always steamy and swoony, with just the right dash of laughs and heart. With the charming and so endearing Wright family at the center, we have a rich cast of characters that make up this dynamic and engaging world, and now we get to see what happens with the intriguing Julian.

Both Julian and Jennifer are in the throes of avoiding their exes, and they soon discover that a fake dating arrangement between them would solve all their problems. Julian can go to his charity function and not have to deal with said horrid ex, and Jeninfier can hopefully escape the parental judgement that seems to come with her singledom. What could go wrong? Well, a single kiss and a series of forced together fake dating fun make everything all confusing.
Jennifer’s long pining over sexy Julian doesn’t make it any easier, and Julian, finally out of a long term relationship, can admit he’s attracted to Jennifer. Cue all the sparks.

I really enjoyed both characters, and we have some great opposites attract/friends to lovers dynamics at play alongside the fake dating trope. Jennifer is endearing and relatable as a heroine- sweet, clever, at times reserved, and Julian ends up being quite lovable. While they each shone in their own right (and I particularly enjoyed watching Jennifer come out of her shell and into her own), their chemistry didn’t have quite the same sizzle- that soul mate draw you’d expect from two people who already, in theory, know each other and are finally leaning into their feelings. But, they were still very adorable and super sweet together- and I found their love story to be very charming and a fun, sexy read. And, as usual, we have the lovable and addicting Wright characters making all sorts of magic as part of the story. A great addition to the amazing Wright series- chock full of that sweet, swoony, and steamy KA Linde charm.

Jennifer prefers to stay in the background rather than take center stage which is why her career as a photographer is a perfect choice. She has always felt like she doesn’t measure up to her accomplished and perfect family so having to attend her brother’s graduation alone is something she would rather avoid. She has had feelings for Julian for a while so when he suggests that they are each other’s dates for social events they are both dreading it seems like the perfect solution.

Julian is focused on his career and has learnt the hard way the consequences of giving your heart to the wrong person. He is more than willing to help out Jennifer as he has been attracted to her for a while and this will be a win-win for both of them and it might just be impetus they need to see what they could have together.

The characters of Jennifer and Julian draw you in and you will empathize with their pasts and their presents. Their love gives each other the strength to face the challenges in their lives and become the best versions of themselves.

Serves Me Wright can be read as a stand alone book in the Wright #9 Wright Vineyard #2 series. It's part of a series with interconnecting characters but they do not have to be read in any particular order. I did like this book but the editing errors was distracting and the political references was in poor taste and should have been left completely out! This book was my least favorite for those reasons and my rating is 3.5 stars

Jennifer has had a crush on Julian Wright for a few years now but suffers from anxiety and is only completely comfortable in social settings if she is behind a camera. Julian is part owner of the Wright Vineyard and Jennifer is the photographer.

When both need dates for different functions, Jen's brother's graduation and Julian a Charity gala. The idea of fake dating is thrown out and its only for a month, no harm and each of them can play interference.

A kiss has already happened in a dark office to thwart Julian's ex but to share a double bed? No problem until to many drinks are had and bad decisions take place.

So, once is not enough and let's keep is casual and fun turns into more with more bad decisions will serve us Wright...

Serves Me Wright by K.A. Linde was an intoxicating fake romance treat that I couldn't get enough of! I had been eagerly anticipating Julian and Jennifer's story, and once again Linde delivered! I devoured this book in one sitting because the allure and the chemistry between these two characters was so strong! I loved every bit of Julian and Jennifer's journey from fake to forever!

Julian and Jennifer have this connection that hooks you right from the start. By a chance steamy encounter, the two realize that by "fake dating," they can help each other out. However, there are underlying feelings that neither one of them have the courage to say. As the story progresses there are several motivating factors that lead these two to admit their feelings and find their HEA. Julian is totally swoonworthy, and is the perfect gentleman always knowing when to come in and save the day, and makes Jennifer feel like a queen! Of course this makes me love this couple even more!

I just love the entire Wright family! I love this series that K.A. Linde has created with such memorable and appealing characters that you can't help but fall in love with! Serves Me Wright was a steamy, delicious story that that left my heart feeling super happy! I'm looking forward to Hollin and Piper's story next!

With every book, this series keeps getting better and better. I love the Wright family tree and all the limbs that it has. Serves Me Wright has all the steam, heart and realness K.A. Linde is known for.

I have been anxiously waiting for Jen and Jillian’s story and getting more into the Wright Winery. They’re connection is unmatched and one of my favorites. Jillian is finally free of his lying ex and has always noticed the shy and quiet Jennifer. A travelling photographer, she’s back in Texas to work as the full time photographer for the Winery. The chemistry can’t be deny and when the two agree to “fake date” for a couple events, it quickly turns into something more.

Jillian is easily one of my favorite Wright family members. He’s sweet, caring and a hard worker trying to make his mark on the world. Jen is uber sweet and I instantly wanted her to be my friend. Her struggles are so relatable and I loved that Linde wasn’t afraid to touch on the subject.

I can’t wait to listen to the audiobook version of this. Teddy Hamilton and Erin Mallon are the perfect choices.

Yes, yes, and YEEEESSSSSS!!! I think I say this every time. Now [insert current book boyfriend name here] is my new favorite. I’m sure it gets old. But when K.A. Linde serves up a dish as hot as Julian Wright, you best say that he’s your new favorite.

Julian and Jennifer dance around each other a bit. He doesn’t think she likes him. She doesn’t think anyone like him would ever go for someone like her. You know the tune. To be honest, I think Jennifer is a bit too good for him, but Julian has this charm about him that could literally make the most miserable person like him. These two just work. They balance each other out. There relationship is not to be outdone by the venomous snake that is Julian’s ex though. Don’t worry, she’s still around.

I loved the dynamic of all of the Wright family. Brothers, sisters, cousins, you name it. This is the family we all wish we had. So the question still stands ...where do we sign up to be adopted?

I loved Jennifer and Julian so so much! 5 Wright stars for this one!

Jennifer has crushed on Julian for a while now, but it's never been the right time for them. Now, both in need of fake dates, they turn to each other for help. Julian goes with her to her parents house for her brothers graduation, and what a time they have. Her mom is odd, and treats Jennifer as if she's not proud of her. Julian see's this and goes out of his way to make her feel wanted.
Now faced with going to Julian's gala, where his ex girlfriend will be is going to be hard. She's not a nice person and always acts like she doesn't even see Jennifer, also letting her know that she's not the right woman for him.

Read along as you get the background on what Julian and Jennifer are each facing in their family lives, and if they can get past them and be together.

I loved this couple and seeing other previous characters in this book. Don't miss out on this great story!

KA Linde did an amazing job and I want to say with all my heart thank you writing this book.
My review is spoiler free, BUT The main female character Jennifer is my favorite by K.A.
and Jennifer's brother is a sort of hero to me as well.
They were raised to believe you always have to hide any and all issues you may have. And that was true back in the day. I am not naive enough t say that not everyone thinks this way. My mental health is something that was hush hush. Your not crazy and it's not all in your mind. It's as real as it gets and most people suffer alone.
Jennifer was lucky enough to not only have friends to understand her, but she had Julian Wright. Julian was very understanding when he found out. Her brother is dealing with with something else that I wont reveal

Jennifer and Julian are friends, right? And friends help each other out? So, it makes sense that they would agree to fake dates to make Julian's poisonous snake ex jealous and quiet Jennifer's overly critical mom, right? The fact that they both secretly have feelings for each other won't complicate this favor at all.

I loved Jennifer and Julian's story -- the journey from fake dating to casual fun and then forever. This series keeps giving us more to love.

Jennifer is hardly the nerdy, anxious girl hiding behind a camera that we saw earlier in this series. Behind the camera, she's come into her own and found success with her photography. With Julian's love and support, she blossoms even further. She finds her voice and advocates for herself.

Charismatic Julian is battling my favorite Wrights (Jensen and Austin) for top billing. Julian doesn't always do the right thing, but his heart is always in the right place. He's an excellent match for Jennifer as he knows just how to soothe and support her.

As always with this series, the secondary characters play a critical role in the story. They are at their matchmaking best helping Julian and Jennifer. I can't wait to read Hollin and Piper's story. The sarcastic banter between those two is everything!

Get ready to be charmed! Serves Me Wright is an enchanting story about finding your place in this world and acceptance.

Was worried this would be a long slow burn but gladly proved incorrect.

Friends to lovers, fake dating, quick shared bed plot.

Hidden anxiety always feels realistic yet horribly sad and overused in books, to me.

And the book randomly jumps from third to first person way too frequently to not be massively confused.

I love a good fake relationship romance. Feeling it bloom in to more is always so fulfilling! This was the perfect example. I loved Julian and Jennifer so much! This book had it all! Feels, heat, and humor! If you love this trope, don't miss this one!

Jen and Julian’s love story did not disappoint. I loved being back in the Wright world, and seeing all the awesome characters again, along with seeing where Jen and Julian’s story took them. I’d highly recommend this book!

I am loving this series filled with the Wright men and the women that steal their hearts. Julian and Jennifer are friends that may have been keeping secrets from each other. When a series of events find them needing a fake date the obvious solution is right in front of them. Although when all the pretending soon becomes too much for either of them to handle the truth soon comes out and surprises them both. I loved the great group of family and friends that surrounded them and added to their journey of discovering the new them! This couple is real, funny, emotional and just wonderful together !

Serves Me Wright is a great fake relationship, and friends - to - lovers story.
I adored Julian and Jennifer, they are so cute together. Their chemistry is sizzling. I also liked that we get to see past Wright characters too. I'm really enjoying this series, and I'm looking forward to the next book.
