5 stars!

After the shocking way Emeralds ended, and seeing Trihn in the other books, I was anxious to read Platinum. I wasn’t sure how things would go for her, but this book more than exceeded my expectations. Let me give you just a bit of a warning here- once you start this book, make sure you have a clear calendar because you won't be able to stop reading! I read this one cover to cover and lost lots of sleep one night because I couldn’t put it down!

After the heartbreak of Trihn’s first love, she’s settled down with Neal. Things go south with Neal (we all saw that coming from a mile away) and she meets Damon. Damon is a sweet, sexy, British DJ. He’s supposed to be Trihn’s rebound, her one night stand. But Damon isn’t the kind of guy you just rebound with…
“I just got out of a relationship. You’re an amazing guy who deserves a really great girl. I’m… not that girl right now.”

“I’m going to change your mind.”

Trihn is very distrustful of men and doesn’t want a relationship. And she has good reason for this. But Damon slowly works his way into her heart. Seriously guys, he isn’t the type of man you could turn down or turn away. As Trihn is finishing school and Damon’s career starts get bigger, their lives become even more complicated. Trihn has to learn to trust again. To be able to give her heart away and believe that it will be treasured and kept, not stomped on. Can she do it? Can Damon break down those walls?
“I told you I’d fight for you and that it meant something to me. You do, and I won’t stop. That’s a promise.”

The entire time I was reading this book, my nerves were on edge. It is a totally different kind of angst than some of Linde’s other books, but I was biting my nails just waiting for something to happen. I was so stressed. But it’s the good kind of stress. The kind that when you finish the book, you take a deep breathe and think… That was so worth it.

Damon and Trihn together are wonderful. You would think with all of Trihn’s distrust it would be annoying, but it wasn’t. I totally understood where she was coming from and why she felt the way she did. And the fact that Damon understood too, was always patient with her and such an amazing man made me adore him even more. Honestly, some of Kyla’s heroes are not for me (aka Jack…) but Damon is her best since Brady. I honestly couldn’t tell you who I love more!

Platinum is by far the best book in this series to date. It's angsty, steamy, smart and full of heart. Linde's writing is impeccable as always and her characters are interesting and strong. This is a must read!

”I am not a puppet, and you no longer control me. I pull my own strings.”

description

In the prior book of this series, Emeralds, Trihn fled the toxic situation between herself, Preston and her sister, Lydia to a college across the country in Las Vegas. Now among the characters of the first book of this series, she has a girl group and has settled into a relationship with a guy named Neal. Neal’s not what her friends have envisioned for her and though she’s destroyed when she's dumped by him her friends’ show her that they were never that great of couple to begin with. Couple the failure of her relationship with Neal to Preston and poor Trihn doesn’t trust anybody of the male persuasion.

Enter sexy British, DJ, Damon, who she meets at a local club. He’s a breath of fresh air in this series though at times his immediate fall in love and dedication was a bit much for me to swallow. Still he’s the best thing that has ever happened to Trihn.

”At some point, you’re going to have to see that I’m not like the guy who messed you up.”

description

Damon’s career takes off landing him touring and in the media spotlight. Trihn’s fashion designing skills get noticed at school and she’s asked to participate in a big show. Her trust issues come to light when the female popstar that has rocketed Damon on the map causing a lot of distress and insecurity for Trihn. Still Damon remains steady in his love for Trihn and his willingness to wade through her trust issues to something spectacular.

”I know you’re struggling with trust issues. You told me that, but please don’t hide what you’re feeling from me. I need to know, so I can be there for you.”

“I’m not talking about my issues, and I feel incredibly stupid about having issues when your dreams are coming true.”

Damon reached out and took her hand. He looked her dead in the eyes. “You’re my dream come true.”

description

Overall, Trihn is perhaps one of the most likable heroines K.A. Linde has written, while Damon is perfectly written for her and was a total sweetheart, though at times I was like this guy's too good to be true. The story was entertaining just lacked the umph for me or the excitement I usually gobble up in this author’s work. To be honest, I would say this is K.A. Linde gone chick lit. Still, it’s a good conclusion for Trihn.

”You’re the reason for it all. You’re my platinum girl, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

I swear, Linde knows how to put me on the edge and give me heart palpations like no one else. I swear the anxiety she gives me isn’t normal, but I get so addicted to her stories I have to read them. In true Linde fashion, Platinum is full of angst and will have you dying to turn the page, so be prepared to stay up to finish it!

We first met Trinh in Emeralds and my heart immediately broke for her. You don’t have to read Emeralds first, but I highly recommend it so you can get the backstory and understand Trinh. I was so ready for Trinh’s HEA after seeing all her heartache with Preston. Then seeing her with Neal throughout the series I just needed this girl to finally have her moment, she deserved her moment.

In the beginning of Platinum Trinh finds herself single again and she plans to stay that way. She tried to stay away from her type and dated the “safe” guy and it just blew up in her face. She decides she will just stay single, that plan goes out the window when she meets Damon.

Damon is British, sexy and an up and coming DJ. He has had his eye on Trinh for awhile and decides to finally make his move one night at the club. Trinh is looking for a one night stand, but he is looking for more. First, I loved this little switch and I completely bought into his desire for Trinh. I was so happy that a guy was pursing Trinh and wanting more.

I loved this book, but I truly struggled with the angst. This will seriously not be an issue for most, but I truly loved Trinh, so my heart hurt for so much throughout this story for her. As someone who has struggled with these similar insecurities it just got to me. That is the only reason this book wasn’t a complete win for me. I loved her growth and felt at the end she was even stronger, but the sucker in me just wanted a break for her. I didn't want their to be any behaviors that were questionable. She deserved someone who wouldn't put her through that.

The character development was top notch and just pushed this one over for me. Trinh is definitely one of my favorite characters, she is vulnerable, genuine and a fighter. I absolutely recommend this one. Like all Linde’s book it’s a page turner, sexy and full of feels.

5 DJ Loving stars!!

This is hands down not only the best book of this series but the best book K.A. has ever written. I can hear all the Jack lovers gasping is shock now, but it's TRUE!!

We left off in Emeralds with Trihn being heartbroken and ready to start her new life in Vegas. Since then she's a play it safe kind of girl. Her boyfriend is a douche but she puts up with it because he's "safe".

Enter Damon. *sigh*
He's a popular DJ that spins at the club they all frequent. He has his sight set on Trihn and refuses to take no for an answer.

She wants to live a little and have a one night stand. He wants more.

What could go wrong?

You'll have to read and see. The angst queen is still in full effect but this time I didn't want to punch her..lol

I loved Trihn's story of redemption. She comes full circle and discovers her self worth.

PS: There's a few subtle cameos in this one. See if you can spot them :)

Can I start off with a declaration of love to Mrs. Linde? Okay. So I’m head over heels in love with this woman. Her words. The emotion. The way she causes you to feel strung out. Waiting in anticipation, sick to your stomach... just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Platinum is the continuation of the All That Glitters Series that focuses on Trihn’s story (Emeralds should be read first). Trust. It’s not something that Trihn gives easily, if at all. She’s been burned once... and now twice. But with Neal out of the picture and a sexy new man stepping in – Trihn is having to face all of her fears when it comes to having faith in someone else not to break your heart.

One night. That is all it was supposed to be. A rebound. But Damon Stone wanted so much more. When Trihn gives in to him to see if they can have more – she never expected that his life would be changing so drastically, so quickly – and that all of her insecurities would be tested.

I loved this. I felt sick through most of it. I was in knots. The queen of angst was in full force, giving us these little moments where you were riding the wave of anticipation of what was to come. What bomb would be dropped? The other shoe was bound to fall, wasn’t it?

I loved Eric. But this series quickly became all about Damon. I loved him from the moment he pulled Trihn close to him and said hello. He was pure swoony perfection!

But this isn’t just about these two. I loved that this series is about all of the characters. I loved that the parts with Stacia and Bryna weren’t just glossed over – that the story did not just revolve around the Damon and Trihn – but all of them.

If you love angst. You need to read this. If you need your romances to be smartly written, with solid characters that have depth and storylines that will keep you on your toes – you need to experience this author. She does not give you an easy road to a HEA. She makes you work for it. Sweat for it. I can’t wait for Stacia (although I might need to wrap my Kindle in bubble wrap during that read)!!

Platinum, the latest story in the incredible All That Glitters saga by K.A. Linde, danced its way into my heart where the music played a mesmerizing melody, never skipping a beat, as this beautiful and brilliant book was in perfect synchronization with my soul. My pulse pounded like a drum as this sensational story seduced me, drawing me in from the very first fabulous page and never letting go until the enticing end.

Beautiful Trihinity ‘Trihn’ Hamilton is back and better than ever! In Emeralds, we saw those green eyes glare a bit where Trihn rocked her bold and badass side. She also got severely burned by a first love gone wrong. In Platinum, Trihn ditches her second love, the slimy eel, Neal, for hot dancer, DJ, musical master, and singing sensation, Damon Stone. Did I mention that Damon is tall, cut, hot, and a Brit?!?

Trihn has always been a boyfriend-type gal. Sensitive. Sweet. Sexy. Done with putting herself in second place, it’s Trihn’s time to shine. Trihn Time. Trihn decides a one-night stand is just what she needs to make a comeback and feel desired. Damon is going to be her dirty DJ for the night and what a hot night it is…swoon!

“I want you to feel every ounce of pleasure I’m giving you, and I want you to remember exactly who gave it to you.”

Holy. Hot.

“Shh, love. If you’re going to talk, I want to hear you crying out from coming on my face.”

Holy. Panty-melting hot.

Damon is my new favorite All That Glitters guy. So sexy with his wanton-inducing words, sweet in his endearing acts where he treats Trihn like a goddess, he is also smart and successful. While Damon is happy be Trihn’s boy toy, he has other plans…longer ones.

“Look, Trihn, I don’t want to be some rebound. This isn’t a one-night stand, Trihn.”

I love that Damon is the whole man candy package---heat and heart.

“Well, I’m not ready for a relationship.”

Trihn is so real and relatable; I adore her. Her heart is broken and she’s afraid to let love in as it will shatter like it did when the last two players played her for a fool.

“I’m not letting you go this easy.”

Damon is no fool. After being a manwhore, he is ready for more and Trihn is his more. He just has to convince her to be his permanent dance partner as they make beautiful music together.

K.A. Linde struck Platinum in this beautiful, broken, and brilliant story that shines like a star, searing your soul and heating your heart in a must-read masterpiece. This gem glitters in greatness. Achingly addicting like a soap opera, I left this super star of a story wanting more…needing more. The All That Glitters series feels like my dirty little secret. My guilty pleasure. Oh am I guilty of devouring this pleasure-pleasing book like chocolate cake. Sooo good. Silver can’t arrive quickly enough.

Holy FREAKING WOW! K.A. Linde's writing NEVER fails me. Never. With Platinum it was no exception.

What I loved most about Platinum was not only was it just as angsty as only K.A. Writes, but it was so different as well. The angst is different with Trihn and Damon. My stomach was in knots and my heart was in my throat for pretty much the entire book. I'm an #AngstLover so of course her writing is one of my favorites.

There's so much I want to say but don't want to spoil anything so I'll have to wait until the discussion group is started. Be prepared for swooning, because Damon is one HOT BRIT! And I think he's moved Brady Maxwell out of my top book boyfried! Get ready ladies, Damon Stone is going to melt your hearts ;)

3.5 STARS

I really had to step away and process before I could write a review for Platinum, something I rarely do. It's usually immediately clear what I thought as soon as I close the last page and this book needed some reflection.

Here are some things I know for sure... Platinum is a delicious combination of quintessential KA Linde angst, characters that I REALLY loved, and some super hot steamy scenes. As far as the All That Glitters series goes, Platinum is one of the most memorable books in the bunch.

What I loved... I loved how real Trihn was. I've been where Trihn is, the girl that's been betrayed and has been pushed right over the edge into an endless pit of emotional turmoil and profound distrust. There were times I wanted to shake Trihn and tell her to just STOP being so paranoid, so insecure, so over-the-top emotional... but then I remember what that feels like, the ugly reality of such heartbreak and such betrayal. I remember clearly what it feels like to be so hurt, so afraid to put yourself out there again, to let yourself trust a really great guy after you've been dragged through the mud by men in the past. Her reactions were authentic and even more heartbreaking after I really thought about it for a while. Trihn is a real girl, Damon is a real guy, and their story is (mostly) very believable.

The bumps in the road... I'm a reader that prefers a very realistic storyline and there were moments of this book, pieces of dialogue, that strayed into the territory of "this would never happen this way." I realize I'm a pain in the ass, that I'm a fictional author's worst nightmare because, seriously, what reader demands realism in their fiction? I know. I get it. I don't know why I am that way, but I am and so there you have it. I'm a real person with real reactions, who says real things in real situations so my brain unconsciously rebels against those moments of "I wouldn't say that" or "that scene was missing something to make it feel more real." Whatever. I'm weird. With that said, there wasn't a lot of that in Platinum, this story felt mostly very fluid and believable. But there were moments.

As the story evolved, Damon's career is catapulted into an unexpected direction that I really loved. Platinum was reminiscent of some of my very favorite rock star romances. This story is packed with all the things I love about that kind of storyline... painful separations between Trihn and Damon where insecurities are given the opportunity to sneak in, paparazzi creating drama, an overly flirtatious pop star, success that you both desperately want and secretly loathe for your leading man... Platinum hit all those spots for me. I'm just not sure this story felt distinctly different from every other rock star romance I've read before. I was waiting for that BOOM moment to make it feel different, make it feel distinctly KA Linde, and it stayed in the realm of comfortably familiar. Is that bad? Of course not. I never wanted to put this book down and I haven't been able to not think about it since I stopped. Platinum is simply a good, sexy, angsty romance by one of my favorite authors.

I was super stoked to get the opportunity to review this book because I have mad love for the author and her angsty way of writing. I had not read all of the books in the series, so I reached out and asked if I could read as a stand alone. I was encouraged to read Emeralds before reading Platinum, and I am so glad I did, because I don't think I would have gotten the root of the story. That being said, I think that I did miss some of the nuisances of the novel, because I didn't know the previous characters and story line. Not sure how they all connect, but I will def go back and read Diamonds and Gold.

This book picks up Trinh's story from Emeralds and after her heartbreak from Emerald's, I must def say, I was on edge! I needed this girl to get her moment after she was torn to shred in the previous book(which I LOVED, BTW). Not soon after this books starts, Trinh finds herself a victim of yet another BAD breakup. UGH! I just felt her pain. She had this despondency about her continued poor decisions in picking the wrong guy for herself. MAN! Does she ever. Trinh is that ONE awesome girl we know, that keeps picking the aholes! You know what I am talking about!
I felt that Trinh was written in such a genuine way, that there is not really a way to connect with her. I found myself constantly cheering for her. She matured and evolved so much in this book, that it was really exciting to see and get to experience.
Enter Damon....the good guy WITH a British accent and can we say, HELLO!! Where do I sign up for that?! There was such a truthfulness to who he was. It was just refreshing to have him show up and love Trinh the way that he did, even when she was pushing him away. The way he comforted her fears and worked at getting her trust was just too sweet for words.

This story is about new beginnings and being open to love even after you have been hurt. It's about taking a chance and not being jaded, even when everything points to bitterness. It's about faith, love, a good man with a broken girl and how he gets her to trust again.
Loved and def would suggest to anyone in need of a fun, lighthearted read.

***Arc kindly received from the author for an honest review.***

This book was actually a really sweet romance. Trinh has had enough with failing relationships. She refused to allow her heart to become involved with anymore men in her life. I'm sure you already know how that idea turned out.

This book was well written although the story was just a little too sweet for my taste. To be honest, this felt like a young adult read with plenty of sexy times.

Damon was hot and amazing. I loved his character and would definitely take him for myself. Trinh's past had her questioning Damon to the point of annoyance.

This is a really good story for romance readers. It's a little drawn out but the ending is worth it.

Although this is the fourth book in this series, it reads as a stand alone.

Enjoy.

FUCK PRESTON!!!! That is literally what I want my entire review to be.

As always I hate how multi dimensional the 2 main characters are and how bleh and predictable every other character is. What i did love is how talented Damon and Trihn are. Also I am such a sucker for popstar/musician/rockstar characters of any kind so yay for that

This was my first introduction to K.A. Linde. I was not disappointed and she will be added to my ever increasing, list of favourite authors! From the very first words on the page she had me lured in! This story was breath-taking and heart pounding and left me wanting more!

Trihnity Hamilton moved to Las Vegas a couple of years ago looking for a fresh start and to escape her cheating boyfriend. Life is good until she finds herself in the same predicament that brought her to Las Vegas! After breaking up with her boyfriend, Neal, her girlfriends decide that she needs to get out and enjoy herself, possibly have some rebound sex. A certain sexy, British DJ had danced his way into her life and into her thoughts the night before. She was startled away by the directions her thoughts were taking her and fled before anything could happen as she was still with her douche bag of a boyfriend at the time! But today was a new day and she was looking for a rebound guy! She tracked Damon down and was very upfront about what she wanted... HIM, no strings attached!

Damon of course has other plans for them as he has been interested in her for quite sometime now, but didn't approach her because she had a boyfriend.

“I noticed you a long time ago. Yesterday was just the first time I got up the nerve to talk to you.”
“What took you so long?” she joked before taking another drink.
“Well, I thought you had a boyfriend, so I tried to steer clear. Then, when you were alone with your friends, I thought that might have changed.”

What happens next is a battle of wills! Trihn is hesitant to get back into a relationship and Damon is fighting for his chance to prove himself worthy of her trust and love.

“Trihn and Damon stood there together with a sexual tension that she couldn’t deny. His eyes drank her in, as if he’d been dying of thirst during the week apart. She could feel need rolling off of him, and she wanted to lean into him. It made her want to forget all the rules she had constructed for herself about the one-night stand and rethink those walls she had just rebuilt around her heart. But she needed those for protection. A hot guy with a few charming words was more destructive than a nuclear bomb to the heart."

“Did you get the flowers?”
“Yes.”
“And the Kiss?”
She turned to face him with a sigh. “Yes.”
“You know why I sent it, right?”
“As a joke?” she guessed.
“Because I plan to earn back the right to your kisses. In the meantime, I’ll just send you chocolate ones to remind you of me.”
Damon held out his hand and passed her a Hershey’s Kiss."

Gushing right?! I was completely and totally seduced by K.A. Linde's story telling! I just love these two together their chemistry is undeniable. Damon is so patient, understanding and encouraging, every woman should have a man like that in their corner and in her bed! Trihn is confident in so many ways that you really can't help but love her and root for her!

This is a MUST read story and I can't wait until I get my hands on the other books in this series. Totally giving this 5 shining stars!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Really enjoying this series. Trinhity's (Trinh) story fits right in with the young college girls experiencing first loves, first heartbreaks, and finding out who they are that this series has been all about.
I love Trinh's character in that although she is well-off and has had a privileged life, she wants to do things on her own merit and hard work. While vulnerable in ways of the heart, she is confident in her intelligence and what she has accomplished and can accomplish. She speaks up for herself but is humble and grounded. I love the trio of Trinh, Bryna and Stacia. It's like the perfect balance.
Damon... DAMON! I love him. His character is one who has the potential to be a player, manwhore, jerk but he is the opposite without losing his swagger. He's all bad-boy without being bad. I love his casualness yet he has intensity about him that is so attractive. He's modern chivalry in jeans and a ball cap. He is crazy talented but isn't arrogant about it and like Trinh is vulnerable with his heart. He doesn't want just anyone to have it and they sure as heck better be deserving of it.
Trinh and Damon are a perfect coupling because they are so incredibly similar yet come across as opposites- and opposites do attract.
If you're looking for a fun, sexy, fashion infused read then Platinum is right for you. I can't wait for Silver (Stacia's story).

So we finally get the conclusion to Trihn's story. I'm normally used to the lead female being strong and secure but Trihn is the complete opposite. She has a lot of trust and insecurity issues due to her past relationships. During a girls night she meets Damon and everything changes. I loved the way Damon showed and proved he wasn't like the other guys. The way he showed his love, support and devotion was absolutely amazing. He's my number two after Brady Maxwell (For The Record Series).I highly recommend this series if you haven't read it yet and remember he's mine!!

“Yeah. And it’s all because of you. None of this would have happened without you. You’re the reason for it all. You’re my platinum girl, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

Throughout this book we are taken through a roller coaster of emotions and their relationship is put to the test. I was so happy that Trihn finally became more secure, learned to trust Damon and not compare him to the other guys she dated. I love when we see a character grow in a series and find their way. A lot of issues in this book got resolved and I'm glad everything worked out for the best. Every book in this series keeps getting better and I can't wait for the next one!

Received from the author for a honest review. I have this really bad habit that when I see a book to be reviewed by an author I like, I sign up right away. So when one of my favorite author, K A Linde had a book to review, I jumped on it. Now when the book is the third in a series, I feel obligated to read the first two books before I review this one. Reading All that Glitter's (Diamond & Gold) first helped and I'm glad I read them but it isn't necessary. Where those were Bryna story, this is Trihn's story.
We start with Trihn being dump by her not so nice boyfriend in the worst way. Her friends think this is for the best for Trihn and they feel a one night stand would help her get over him. Damon is the guy of choice but he doesn't want to be a one nighter. Damon is on the rise and Trihn is losing herself in self doubt all because of her past.
Trihn's story is about the age old problem of trust and no one does romantic angst better than KA Linde and it was my pleasure to read this book. I look forward to the next in the Glitter Series about their friend Stacia.

After Emeralds I could not wait for Trihn’s story and this did not disappoint. After all she had been through she had written off love and didn’t ever think she could trust again.
But as a certain British, swoony man, entered her life she had a choice to make. Would she take that blind leap of faith and trust that her heart was in the right hands or would she let her past control her future? I found Trihn to be so relatable. I mean I’ve been there. It’s not fun, it’s not pretty. The growth that her character showed was tremendous. I found myself cheering her on. This book wasn’t as angsty as Ms. Lindes previous books but that took nothing away from this story. The sexy scenes were scorching, the writing flawless, and the story intriguing! 5 Hershey Kisses stars!

We have another great romance with Trihn and Damon. It was nice seeing Trihn grow from the person she was to the person she became. We finally get to see her stand up to Neal because let's face it he was not for her. After trying to move on from that disaster, she meets Damon. Things become pretty intense for them, and since everything is still a little bit fresh in her mind with what happened with her ex-boyfriend, she has some major trust issues to overcome with Damon. Without spoiling the whole story, I will leave it at that. It was a quick read, with a great ending. If you like growth in your romances, then this book is for you!

Cheating is my hard limit.

The only thing I truly fear.

My heart was shattered once before, and I swore it would never happen again. This time I chose the safe guy who wouldn’t destroy me. Turns out…they don’t exist.

So when the sexiest Brit I’ve ever met dances right into my life, I offer him a one night stand. No strings attached. My perfect rebound, with zero chance of betrayal. It’s everything I hoped for. But he demands more than I’m willing to give.

I refuse to be fooled again, because I know a man I can count on is rarer than… Platinum.

Follow the conclusion to Trihn’s story in this sexy, heart stopping fourth book in USA Todaybestselling author K.A. Linde’s All That Glitters series.

*This is the book 4 in the All That Glitters series, but can be read as a stand alone. Although characters from the rest of the series appear throughout. ATG order: Diamonds, Gold, Emeralds, Platinum, Silver.

Review:

This is the fourth book in the All That Glitters series. Although it says that it can be read as a stand alone book, I really recommend reading the rest of the series. At least read the third book Emeralds since it gives you the background of Trihn’s story. If you only read the first two books, Diamonds and Gold, you will meet Trihn as a secondary character in book 2 Gold. I know confusing, but K. A. Linde pulls it all together nicely.

The plot of this book is Trihn’s return to school after winter break of the second year at the University that she is studying fashion design. She attends Las Vegas State with her best friends Bryna and Stacia. After she arrives back to school she finds out that her moody, controlling boyfriend Neal, of the last year and a half in cheating on her when he calls an end to their relationship. Bryna and Stacia convince her to pursue the sexy DJ that she was dancing with on their “girls night out.” Sparks are evident, but Trihn can’t seem to get over her insecurities after her first failed relationship with Preston, from book 3 Emeralds, and Neal, both of which have shown her that men are cheating slime. Now Damon Stone will try anything from chocolate Hershey Kisses, sexy dance moves and a beautiful song to convince Trihn that not all men are cheating asses and all he wants is her. Yes, the chemistry in this book is hot and steamy as well as the sex between them. The pacing of this book is fast. As I have already mentioned, if you have not read the 3rd book of this series, Emeralds, you may be a little lost, but you can definitely figure out what is going on. There is enough flashbacks and references to the past to keep you up to speed. Loved the ending to this story. Yes it is the ending to Trihn’s and Damon’s story or maybe the beginning setting the stage for book 5, Silver. Stacia’s story. The development of the characters takes place over the four books of this series. We get to watch the relationships between best friends, lovers, and family grow.

Platinum  was my first book by K.A. Linde, and I have graciously been granted an ARC of this title through Goodreads.

Platinum is the story of Trihnity Hamilton (aka Trihn), a fashion design student and ex-model, with a bad history of being cheated on by her boyfriends of the past. Incidentally, straight after her latest breakup, she meets sexy Brit Damon Stone, who regularly DJs at a club Trihn and her friends like to frequent. Damon is coming on to her very strongly, forcing her to set her fears of commitment aside - that is until Damon unexpectedly becomes the popular DJ touring with the hottest pop act in the country, Chloe Avana. Will history repeat itself for Trihn?

As explained before, I wasn't familiar with K.A. Linde or the  All That Glitters book series before reading  Platinum . But that wasn't a problem at all, since this book can easily be read as a standalone. I understand that many of the characters that come up in  Platinum had been featured earlier on in the series, and their story is skilfully hinted to in this title. The author gave just enough information to understand everyone's situation without clouding the main story around Trihn and Damon.

And well, this story was... interesting to say the least. It was obviously filled with drama. And I mean: a lot. Perhaps a little too much, even. And even though I liked both main characters, because they both seemed quite peculiar, I didn't really appreciate the setting of the story at all.

The story would have been plausible if Damon suddenly hit fame, and Trihn and her group of friends had to deal with the adjustments of that. But the whole "posse" actually bathes in glitter and glamour. One of Trihn's friend is a movie-star and her father is a famous director, another friend is super wealthy and only dates draft-worthy quarterbacks. Trihn herself comes from a wealthy family, with her father being a fashion photographer and her mother a fashion magazine editor.

In other words, it is quite difficult to relate to the characters in this story, because they are so far removed from normal life. Their whole scene and and their behaviours are very plastic. And aside from the passion for the things they do, the characters do not show much intellect, which is sad. The whole book felt very much like a New Adult version of Sex and the City. And the plot was unfortunately too predictable.

So all in all, I wasn't very excited by this book, and will probably not go back to discovering the previous books in the  All That Glitters series. But that being said, I like the author's writing and would consider reading other K.A Linde books with less "new-adulty" plots.

Platinum begins with Trihn being with her asshole boyfriend Neal, who know of her friends like. You learn early on that things are not going to end well and Trihn is once again hurt by a guy she thought she could trust. So what’s the best way to get over heartbreak? To find a seriously hot guy to have a sexy rebound with, and that’s exactly what she does with the sexy as hell British DJ, Damon. But Damon refuses to be Trihn’s rebound guy. He has noticed her before and is not going to give us so easily now that he finally has his chance with her.

“I told you I’d fight for you and that it meant something to me. You do, and I won’t stop. That’s a promise.”

After everything Trihn has been through she has a hard time trusting and opening up to guys, but no matter how much she tries to push Damon away he is always there willing to be there for her in any way that she needs, until Trihn can no longer deny the feelings she has for Damon and decides to give him a chance.

Everything goes great for a while, then Damon get his big break and goes on tour with a gorgeous pop star. While Trihn is so happy that Damon is living his dream, she can’t help old insecurities that arise while he is one the road. While Damon tries to be understanding to her feeling, the distance and fighting puts a strain on their relationship.

“Say you’re mine. Say you have no reason to doubt me because I would never, ever do anything to hurt you.”

While reading you knew something big was going to happen and I was glued to my kindle just waiting for the moment to come.

“There’s no room in my heart for anything except you. You’re the person I want to share every moment with.”

Platinum was my first book in the All that Glitters series. I was worried I would be behind and confused going into Platinum because I knew Emeralds (All that Glitters #2.5) was a prequel to Platinum and how you found out about why Trihn was the way she was in Platinum. And in the beginning I was a little confused about what happened between Trihn, Preston, and her sister, but it wasn’t enough to deter from the story and eventually in Platinum it was revealed what went down between them. I really enjoyed Trihn and Damon’s story and would recommend even if you haven’t read the other books in the series.

This book could be read as a stand-alone. Reading Emeralds could give you more background, though.

In this book, we start with Trihn settled into a relationship with Neal, a guy who is not what Trihn's friends envisioned for her, and just when he returns from a trip their relationship ends which cause Trihn, pressed by her friends, to look for the rebound guy which turns out to be a very attractive British guy named Damon who is a DJ at a local club. However, Damon is looking for more than a one-night stand which makes Trihn face her own fears, insecurities and the demons of past relationships. When a sudden twist in their professional life happens, Is their love strong enough to face what future brings to their plates?

Something that caused me not to give the book a full five stars was that at the beginning the book was kind of slow for me and the way the first interaction between Damon and Trihn occurred was like super insta-love, I mean, I am such a sucker for insta-love, but, this time was like .. really?

Things really pick up for me when Damon takes the relationship seriously and forces Trihn to take him seriously.

I told you I'd fight for you and that it meant something to me. You do, and I won't stop. That's a promise

Also, something that was a nice change was that Damon, at the beginning, I didn't see him as the typical alpha-male who takes the woman no matter what, but we see a very dedicated and cautious man who understood Trihn's insecurities and always keep her reassured and letting her see how she should be treated. Of course, It doesn't mean that Damon doesn't have a wild strong side, of course, there is passion here too! ;)

Trihn, throughout the story, develops nicely turning into a strong and likable character, while Damon is perfectly made to stand by her side, sometimes maybe too perfect, though. All in all, the story was entertaining but I find it lacking that "something" that makes it impossible to put it down. Still, it was a nicely developed story with well-written characters that, at the end, won't disappoint you.

K.A. Linde, you are a phenomenal story teller! I love this series, I love this book, I love Trihn & I love you as an author! You really know how to evoke emotions in readers and get them invested in not just the story but the characters as well. Bravo!

In Platinum, the follow up to Trihn’s story we first read in Emeralds, we get to see what happens next in her story after her heartbreak from her first love, Preston. She was hurt deeply by Preston, and has had a hard time forgetting it entirely. Trust has defiantly been a new character flaw that she has to work on in order to progress forward in any relationship after he took that from her. Her sister, Lydia, is still with him nearly two years later and just knowing that has really put a strain on any sort of relationship with Lydia and made her distance herself from her family. Two years later Trihn has moved on and is dating someone out in Las Vegas where she now attends College, and all finally seems well in her bubble.

Until a sexy Britt walks into her life, or rather dances in, at a the local nightclub the girls favor, Posse. There is chemistry between them, but she pulls back due to her relationship status with said boyfriend. She has been on the other side of that situation with Preston and doesn’t want to be THAT girl. Little does she know that her relationship status will soon be changing. From the moment her relationship ends, her one-night stand she offers up to Damon begins to slowly feel more like a relationship.

I love him and everything English, so this story just made me fall in love with them both and the sparks between them. It is fun and flirtatious and I can hear his British accent in my head while I read his dialogue, so it just makes for a much more telling read.

Damon is a DJ and Trihn is a up and coming fashion designer. Can their worlds possible work? Can she trust him? Can she move past her hurt from the past and be with him with an open and trusting heart? This installment of the All That Glitters series wasn’t as full of angst as some of the others, but knowing our writer I was still on edge waiting for a big twist to happen. While there are several, Trihn’s story won’t disappoint!

"You’re the reason for it all. You’re my platinum girl, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

The. Best. Book. In. The. Series!!!!

K.A. Linde always knows how to put me on my toes! From the very first book of this series, I've been put under the I-think-this-book-will-ruin me state every freaking time. But with Platinum , Miss Kyla just totally swept me off my feet. Trihn was a different streak and I love the variations Miss Kyla is giving me in this heart-stealing series!

Since reading Emeralds, I was extremely intrigued with how Trihn's story was going to push through, anxious who will be her man. And God, K.A. Linde did not disappoint! Damon was a hot, sexy, Brit that definitely filled my mind days after reading this book. Trihn was bolder and yet vulnerable in this book and feeling with her was an experience to remember. Her chemistry with Damon was a total heart-stealing, panty-dropping one.

My favorite thing about K.A. Linde's writing in this series is that she surprises me in every book. Every character is a new experience and there's always an element of oh-my-fucking-god-what-is-going-to-happen on every book. Platinum was more than what I expected and totally a book I highly recommend!

My Review: (copy provided)
3 stars

I liked this book but I really wanted to love it. Damon and Trihnity's relationship felt very rushed. I wanted to get that off the charts chemistry and connection but unfortunately I didn't. I really liked the premise of the story. I liked both H and h but I just wanted more. I 100% understood her insecurities and jealousy with her relationships. I did think the Preston issue should've been addressed more and earlier in the story. I felt like her sister got off too easily and her parents just turned a blind eye, her mother should have been more apologetic. The whole family thing really frustrated me.

Throughout the story I felt like I was missing something, I think I wanted more of a back story. I know myself and wish I would've read the first two books. I realize this is a standalone but I think I would've gotten more out of this story if I knew more.

Overall this book kept my attention and flowed quickly, it was a pretty good read but I wanted more passion, more angst, and I wanted to get to know the characters more, because I really did like them.

Thank you to the author for providing me a copy of this book
