This book made me so angry that 4 days after reading it I wish I hadn't. After book 1 I will admit that I cheated and read some reviews with spoilers that told me who Lexi picked in the end. I decided to complete the series to see if I could understand her decision and for me I came to the conclusion that she's just not a worthy person. She had true love and threw it away. I was so proud at the end of book 2 I thought the author was going to finally give Lexi some depth and true character, I thought maybe instead of always being the taker she might give back but in the end she is just a selfish bitch who doesn't deserve Ramsey. I'm not even sure she deserves Chyna who has been loyal through and through but whatever. I truly wish I hadn't read this series it left me angry, disappointed and I guess truly sad. I know the author gets to choose her own writing but for me I go into a book hoping to find people that have depth and moral values and I just never would have expected this to end the way it did. The author has a great ability to tell a story that is very believable and describes scenes very well and for that I applaud her writing abilities I'm just not sure I can read anything else by this author after feeling so empty and let down by this book.

SOOOOOOOO SAD, WISH THIS BOOK HAD ENDED WITH I HIGHER MORAL CODE BUT I GUESS IN THE END CHEATERS WIN THE GAME.

ANNOYING CHARACTERS

I've heard lots of good things about this series, so when I saw this box set I just had to read it. Wow this was a bit of a disappointment, I won't go into details, suffice to say I just didn't like the characters nor did I care what happened to them. The switching from the past to the present interrupted the flow of the story as well. So overall this was just okay.

DNF: 75%

SPOILER

It's not very often that I write a review but I was just so angry to find out you Lexi decides to be with!!!

SPOILER

After reading reviews from other goodreaders I just couldn't continue with the book anymore and have made up my own story. Only being a chapter into the third book made it much easier. As soon as Lexi received the phone call from Jack and went to meet him I knew what was going to happen and was immediately angry ha!

SPOILER

I guess she deserves Jack they are both ridiculous! I imagine the author will get some hate for the lack of HEA especially where Ramsey is concerned!!

Although now my rant is over I see that she didn't deserve someone as nice as him. I would like to read a novella on Ramsey after this with absolutely minimal mention on Lexi and Jack.

DNF.
This is getting one star because I waited to read this series until they were all out. I wish I hadn't because I would never have read the second book, which I have finished. I didn't read Chyna's story nor did I bother with 1.5 or the last one. Just nothing but back stories with a "bitch" and "whore" thrown in to assure us that the female characters are truly awful people. It is almost as if the writer watched Jerry Springer, sent the characters to big buildings with learnin' and threw in a country club. WTF does Bridges Enterprises do? Bridge your troubles, seriously?!? All the sudden Bridges Enterprises (Ramsy and Bekha's company) is in the medical field. Eye roll and a whatever.
I have never wanted to shake a person to death, but our pathetic heroine Lexi makes me want to. Umm, you make poor choices, you have to live with them dumb dumb. She really deserves to be jerked around by Jack.

One of the most dynamic love triangles books I've ever read. This book has it all, love, angst, sadness, happiness, well developed characters, and a strong storyline that is nothing but crisp and fresh.

DNF: I’m tapping out after book 2. I feel like that’s where it should end and after reading a couple of reviews of book 3 I’m not willing to put myself through it. Jack is an unredeemable character for me and I don’t want to see him tear her world apart again and I definately don’t want to see him get the girl. #team Ramsey

I can't even find the words that I need to explain my love for this story right now. KA Linde murdered my soul in the best, most achingly satisfying way possible. If you want perfect, unflawed characters with a simple love story and no mess - pass this up. But if you love real, flawed, imperfectly amazing characters - don't look any further. It doesn't get better than this!

I'm an angst lover, and to me, this was angst heaven. The little looks, the touches, the words left unsaid... sigh! All of it. I just ADORED it. The best thing is the Linde makes you feel exactly the way she wants you to along the ride. Sometimes you're yelling at her to choose one guy over the other, but then you have a scene with them and think well wait a dang second. You love the man, you hate the man, you love another man, you hate that other man - it's constant confusion and ache. The steamy scenes are HOT and fresh, the romance is sweet and touching, and Chyna may just be the best friend I've ever read in a book.

Overall, this was an insanely well-written and developed story and if you're an angst addict like I am, then I know you'll thoroughly enjoy it. 5 stars!

I wanted to give this series only one star and I am not completely sure if it really deserves two - this was just a bad reading experience for me. The characters are so annoying and I could not connect with any of them at all. DNF.
I won't say any more cause I do not want to bash authors and apparently there are many people that enjoyed the series BUT I cannot recommend to read this series.

Horrible! The lesson learned here was that good guys do finish last. The heroine was an idiot, the "hero" was a total jackass!! but in the end I guess they deserve each other. I love Ramsey!!!

I liked all the books but the last one. Avoiding Temptation was a train wreck from the moment Lexie got the call from Jack. I was team Ramsey from the moment he was introduced. I just thought that Jack was a douche and always chose someone else besides Lexi. He kept talking about how he loved Lexi so much but he never put her first. Ramsey did everything for Lexi. The author completely ruined the last book. I don’t know where she thought it was ok for Lexi to choose Jack in the end. The only reason he wanted her now was because Bekah left him. If it wasn’t for that then he would still be with her. By the end of the book I hated Lexi and Jack both. My only concern was Ramsey. I wish that we would have found out Ramsey’s fate and that he would have got a happy ending. Lexi and Jack deserve each other after all the cheating and lying that they did through the years. Ramsey was too good for Lexi. He deserves someone so much better!

Well I went on amazon and looked at some of these reviews and I am thinking did you not read the same books I did. I loved this series everything that happened in these books. Yes they made mistakes and couldn't be together but kept coming back to each other. Sometimes in real life things like this happen. And yes there were really great men in this series and the man who ended up with Lexi at the end was the right choice. She tried to move on but guess what it didn't work. People change if you really read this series you seen how these characters changed over the years. And for me I want a book that is going to piss me off and have me falling for the characters. I loved Jack, Ramsey and John. Lexi couldn't help who she loves. I would have not liked the books if they had been boring and no angst that was what drew me to the series. I want to say I love your writing Kyla you know that keep being you and bringing me all the good stuff love you

So disappointed

I wasted all this time reading this series...there is a reason a man is an ex or ex lover. You would think after the fourth and fifth time she would have learned her lesson...nope, not this "lawyer"...
The ending of the second book was awesome and I was excited for the continuing of Ramsey and Lexi but once that SOB screwed with her head again...I already knew the ending.
I understand the logic of her not being with Ramsey and that was probably the only mature decision Lexi made...Ramsey was adorable and had his issues but damn....

First off, I scored the box set for $0.99 so that is why I opted to finish the series. Otherwise, I had heard about the ending of of the last book and was not happy so I decided it didn't get finished, which I hate not finishing a series. I rated each book individually so this rating is for the whole series, all 5 books. My average is a 3.8. The book I liked the most was Chyna's (Avoiding Intimacy)she really grew up in that book. Lexi, not so much but I digress lol.

Do not read this review if you don’t want spoilers
First of all, since I’m hopeless romantic, i don’t mind reading a romantic book as long as there is That kind of bond/romance. I really don’t care if there is cheating, forbidden aspect as long as i can tell they belong together.
But here is the thing, Lexi was totally in love with Jack. I get it. I also sympathised with her when she gave him million chances, sabotage her romantic relationships. I still was hoping of her to get him even when i was still looking for that connection between them. She loved him, i don’t have doubt. But him? I never felt for a sec he loved her, i felt he didn’t respect her and just took advantage of her emotions.
Not going to Danielle, lets give him benefit of doubts. But then Kate? Jack respected her enough that they didn’t sleep together. But he would kept going to Lexi for his needs, but won’t break up with Kate. As if since he was fulfilling his need from someone else, he kept his gf all happy and committed. Jack couldn’t keep his hands off Lexi and that they couldn’t be just friends. But wouldn’t be with her. He should’ve tell Kate the truth when Clark got to know about them. And when Lexi told Kate the truth only then Jack said he loved Lexi. It truly felt like, oh no i lost Kate, but I don’t want to be alone so lets tell Lexi i love her. I’m not saying Laxi did right by telling Kate. She shouldn’t have. If Clark wanted her that much, they had to work on their relationship on Jack and Kate’s.
But then hey I know relationships can be messy! So lets give them another chance. Jack cheated on Lexi. Am I surprised? Not at all. He didn’t have any issue with being in relation with other girls. But he would not be with Lexi as partners, just never. Even when he cheated on her, if he really wanted her, all he had to do was stick to her and she would’ve forgive him. But he ran the opposite side as soon as they were in trouble! He even was with his previous gfs through rocks, but not with Lexi.
He wouldn’t commit Lexi even when they knew each other for 6 years but he called for her help to convinced Bekah that Jack wasn’t afraid of commitment. This was low even for him.
But then he couldn’t keep his hands off Bekah knowing Lexi could hear them. And He Talked to Lexi like they did before only when Bekah wasn’t with him.
Then he promised Lexi, he wanted her, would chose her.
I was still hoping to read about Jack’s feelings for Lexi. he fucked her and let her alone then went to propose Bekah!
Was I surprised? Not at all but I lost my patience. I get it Lexi was hopelessly in love with him. But she was never his choice! Never! She didn’t stand a chance against those girls. Lexi was more like backup for his needs, nothing more. All Jack did was with her was physical. They had lack of chemistry. Where was romance/ bond? Not even for once i felt like, may be he loves her!
I am not saying Ramsey was a better choice! He had his issue with Parker, kept secret his past from Lexi. But at least he tried to be the one for her. Even Jack! I felt like he shined in the last book. He kept trying for her, even tho it started as Chasing. I truly wouldn’t mind if she chose his as to get out of her engagement and well…Jack!
I am mad and frustrated cause what she saw in Jack? It wasn’t like he decided to divorce Bekah because he wanted Lexi and that he was in love with her, wanted her back. Nope! Bekah was bored with Jack so decided to divorce. Still then he wanted to fight for his Wife!!!!
Now can Jack be happy for Lexi for once? Nope! He had to sabotage her relationship this time too! Jack was like, so what Bekah left me? Lexi would look into my blue eyes and take me back in sec! Thats actually happened! Also he only decided to move form Atlanta cause Bitch B ruined his life there. Remember how Jack didn’t choose Lexi was he had his life at Atlanta?
I just wish, at least in the last book, we could see some improvement/ maturity in Jack. For once only if we were convinced of his love for Lexi! I kinda pity her, even when she made her share of mistakes. Atleast she truly loved Jack and put him on top of her priorities.
I completed the series in 3days i was hooked from the first. So you can guess my frustration when i had to read Lexi go blind all those times Jack didn’t chose her, he not only sabotaged all her relationships but also when he was with her.
Having said that, I believe heart wants what it wants. But seems like Lexi decided to ignore all the red flags (it still okay since we all do ignore red flags) , disrespect, not being priority for once or being rejected all those times. Lexi more like fantasied and romanticised Jack, didn’t actually look at Jack or his decisions to never choose Lexi over other girls.
I would say Jack had his cake and eat it too. He dated other girls keeping Lexi as side-chick, married beautiful, rich Bekah. Experienced a married life. Even before proper divorce had Lexi for his needs. Nice!
But did enjoy the writing? Yes!!!
Just am frustrated with the heroine’s stupidity! Lexi didn’t seem like a doormat, but she was unfortunately.
I really didn’t care if the hero was as asshole as long as he loved her! Jack didn’t!
P.S. I’m m not in any team. Just wanted Lexi to find a man who loves her, choose her and didn’t hide stuffs from her..

Avoiding Commitment Review: I hate giving reviews like this but sometimes it's a must. In my opinion there is only one character in this story likeable that is Chyna. The main characters Lexi and Jack are just disgusting people. I learned a long time ago if somebody shows/ tells who they are believe them. Jack has no redeemable qualities, he can't keep it in his pants and has no self control. Lexi is just delusional. She needs to put on her big girl panties and learn the word no. In my opinion not worth reading unless you like cheating/lies/secrets then this is for you.

Avoiding Decisions Review: I couldn't stand Jack in Avoiding Commitment. Avoiding Decisions is Jack's point of view when first getting involved with Lexi. He is one selfish pig.

Avoiding Responsibility Review: If you enjoy lying, cheating and the most unlikable characters then this book is series is for you. Lexi needs to learn the word NO! Jack is a complete loser. Ramsey doesn't know how to tell the whole truth. The only good thing about this book Is Lexi is starting to grow a little. In my opinion the only likeable character is Chyna, she tells it like it is and she is who she is.

Avoiding Intimacy Review: Avoiding Intimacy is my favorite story of the Avoiding Series. This is some of Lexi's best friend Chyna's story. This is what happened while Chyna and Adam were broken up and she was in Milan. Chyna takes a journey of figuring out what she wants. In the process things get a little kinky. In my opinion Chyna learned a lot lessons about herself.

Avoiding Temptation Review: After everything I hate Jack, Lexi, John and Ramsey. They are all liars, cheaters and manipulators. If you are into that then read, if not then don't read. Not giving the whole story that is lying by omission. The only characters I liked were Chyna and Adam. I found nothing likable about this series. In my opinion not worth your time.

In my opinion don't bother wasting your time and money.

Awesome 👍 If I could I would Give 7 Stars Perfect

Avoiding Commitment.. Check ✔️
I read the first book in the series as a single book and then I looked to see if their was a boxset and there was. It was a good enough for me to either purchase the rest or find a boxset with it all. The so story of Jack Howard and Lexi
Avoiding Responsibility ✔️
Avoiding Temptation ✔️
Then we have the extras Jack's POV and Ramsey's POV and Avoiding Intimacy👍✔️✔️✔️
I really enjoyed this series. Along the way we see what happens with the other characters. Chyna, Alexa's best friend. Chyna the trust fund child, young lady, whose parents were divorced but both were rich. She saw more of her father than her mother. Bekah, the snob, Ramsey's sister and a very mean person. Then their is John, Adam's brother, and Chyna's friend and eventually, husband. Piper, Lexi's doppelganger. This story had all kinds of twists and turns. Secrets were revealed and lies were told to make the drama and more drama so sweet. If you have ever read K.A. Linde books or book you will love this series.

Roller Costner love story

I had a hard time with this story/ies. There was this roller coaster effect that you road with the characters. For me I didn't like it. I felt mad a lot of the time and then didn't like the ending, even though it was a good story and well written. But I do like others books by this author. I was glad it was in a box set or I wouldn't have bought the other books.
Overview. Alexa (Lexi) has always had a bond with Jack. Their history has always held them back from relationships. But Jack is now going to marry someone else and takes Alexa on a roller coaster ride of the past. That is until Ramsey (Becka jacks new girlfriend/ brother) steps in and helps side track her. Ramsey and Lexi slowly build a future together. They have several ups and downs with their ex's (Jack and Parker). But the two keep a strong bond, until past issues keep knocking and Lexi finally breaks. Will Lexi ever find the love that she wants or will she settle for something?

Wow! looking for an emotional roller coaster from beginning to end? This is the series for you.
In the note to reader at the end K.A. Linde says "Life is messy. I like my fiction messy. I like my characters flawed." She did an amazing job creating flawed characters. I went between loving these characters to despising them to kind of liking them, all of them, not one of them were perfect. All of them made me cry and want to reach through my Kindle and strangle them.
I don't know if it ended the way I wanted to, that's not the road I would have had Alexa take, but I think after giving it some time to sink in, it was the only way it could go.
These are the first K.A. Linde books I've read, but they definitely won't be the last!

Lots of Ups and Downs

This review is for the Avoiding box set. I read all four books and two short stories in just a span of one week. First of all, this was a great story filled with engaging characters. I couldn’t put it down. I know some people don’t like who Lexi ended up with because of the cheating aspect, but as the author points out, this is a book about life and life is messy. People make mistakes and yes, people can change. I absolutely loved this story! Great job!

Always been jack!

It all started when jack met Lexi. When they fell they fell hard but as life goes things never really goes smoothly and jack screws up royally and Lexi always forgives, until jack finally commits to her bf's sister. But truly the whole time they spent apart was nothing but fake but educational to bring them back stronger. In the end they were going to make it or fight till they died.

THE AVOIDING BOXSET by KA Linde
Lexi, Jack and Ramsey's story
Avoiding Commitment Book 1, Avoiding Responsibility Book 2, Avoiding Temptation Book 3
Oh my goodness, the angst is incredible. Misunderstandings galore, cheating and broken hearts. This boxset has it all! Jack and Lexi just don't seem to find each other when the time is right. I would have given this book a higher rating but the cheating was over the top for me. Otherwise, I enjoyed the story

I'm not sure what to say about this series. None of the characters were all that likeable or trustworthy. I'm not sure they changed all THAT much from the beginning of the series to the end. I mean, there was SOME character growth, but I have to say I'm still not all that sold on any of it.

I will say I think Jack and Lexi totally deserve each other and I didn't feel all that bad for the other guy either.

Overall, I can say I think this could have been wrapped up in 2 books and a novella, maybe even less. It just went back and forth and on and on with the same thing for too long. It wound up being annoying. By the end, I didn't care all that much if anyone wound up with anyone.

That said, the writing wasn't bad and I guess I didn't totally hate it, so I gave it 2 1/2 stars.

Soooo, here's my deal. Lexi & Jack. Jack & Lexi. On WAAAY more than one occasion in this book, I wanted to take them by the back of the head and knock their skulls together like a couple of coconuts. The crap Jack pulls over and over...and OVER again, just drove. me. NUTS. And the fact that Lexi just took it? She had no spine whatsoever when it came to Jack -- and all the other guys like Ramsey, Clark & John, too...and perhaps that's what irked me the most. LEXI. Someone needed to teach that girl to 'grow a set' and figure out what the hell she WANTS. Not this beat around the bush, wait for over a DECADE for Jack to make mistake after mistake, never commit, change his mind and literally string her along. I know love can make you do crazy things, but really. Who DOES that?! Not only that, but I can't quite figure why it seems like every man in the story worship her. Did I miss the part where it said the girl had golden nipples?! I just wish Lexi was a stronger character and not so dependent on various men in her life, all the while comparing everyone and everything to Jack and things about their relationship.

I'm surprised with myself that I was Team Ramsey on this one. I'm a firm believer that you should NOT be judged by the likes of your siblings and Bekah screwed her brother over and played HIM like a fiddle, just like she did Jack & Bekah. They do say karma is a bitch though...and that is one part I quite enjoyed in this series. (Booyahhh, Bekah -- in your FACE! lol) I genuinely felt a little bad for Ramsey. He really did try hard to be a good partner for Lexi. I understand her having an issue with the whole Parker thing, but I think Lexi just made EVERYTHING into this huge ordeal. The lying issue with Ramsey -- I mean, the dude did NICE stuff to surprise her, and she was all ticked off that he didn't TELL her, and said he was a liar. C'mon. If you pull that crap in a relationship, there's no WAY it's going to work out.

In the end, I think it worked out right...because MANNN. If this book didn't end the way it did, I probably would've been ticked off. LOL With how much angst and drama went down, she BETTER have ended up with the "right guy" for her. Bright side -- I really did enjoy the friendship between Lexi and Chyna -- because of Chyna. She wasn't afraid to call Lexi out on her junk. I was thrilled for Chyna and Adam...they were a great pair.

If you're into the back & forth, angst-ridden love story...this is a good read for you. I'm not disappointed that I spend the time reading the book, but I'll say there were a few times that I wasn't sure I could keep going. Again, I think blame that on feeling frustrated with Lexi's character and the decisions/reactions to various situations she found herself in.

This review will contain spoilers so don't read if you don't want to know in advance!!
I honestly don't know how I feel about this series. It was good but it was bad at the same time. The way Lexi CONSTANTLY kept going back to Jack, no matter what he did or how he treated her started to drive me nuts. I mean, how can someone take so much hurt and pain from one person and just deal with it. Because of a psychical attraction?! Come on now.
I wanted Lexi to end up with Ramsey SO bad. But you know what? I'm glad she didn't end up with him because she did NOT deserve him. I don't know why Jack could do no wrong in her eyes, no matter what horrible thing he did to her, but Ramsey could do no right in her eyes no matter how sweet his reasons were for doing something. Every little detail she wanted him to disclose to her was just unrealistic. He did everything for her and she was never grateful.

I know an author has every right to write the book the way they see it in their head. But it just sucks when I don't get the ending I wanted. I know some people can be stubborn and will constantly go back to a person that hurts them, but I just don't understand it. I would have even rather seen Lexi end up with John over Jack!

I did love how Chynna's part of the story was explained more in depth. But if I were Chynna, I would have smacked Lexi upside the head for constantly going back to Jack.

I would REALLY love to read a novella about Ramsey FINALLY getting his happily ever after (but not with Parker!!!). Ramsey was an AWESOME character and I would love to read more about him. He needs to find his true love!!

Roller coaster ride in a book - some spoilers in review

I had avoiding commitment on my kindle for months. Tried to start it numerous times but couldn't. Finally forcing myself to read it, I was drug into Lexi and Jack's world. As KA Linde states in her thank you, you want to throw your kindle (iPad) out the window so many times. Lexi to me is an immature, confused girl who wants to be loved by a man who can't commit. She makes all the wrong decisions because the right ones don't make sense to her. Jack is an arrogant young man who wants love but doesn't want to commit to Lexi until someone else does. Bekah is the ultimate bitch and I'm glad she got what she deserved in the end, but shocked how she got it.

There are so many twists and turns in this series it was frustrating to think any woman could be like Lexi. She made so many stupid decisions through the entire story you just wanted to reach through the book and grab her and shake the crap out of her. Her BFF was a rich kid from NY and knew what Lexi needed but had to let Lexi figure it out on her own.

There are a lot of players in this series and they each have a past with one of the others. Between the chapters going back to the past and then to present day and keeping up with who is sleeping with who, it took me longer to read than most.

I am glad I got the box set and I'm glad I'm FINALLY done with this series.

Avoiding??

K.A.Linda is one of my favorite authors. Do I like everything she writes, well pretty much. I was inbetween several new books,so I decided to reread the Avoiding series, again. Every time I have read it,I see a a little more, and things a little more with depth. Overall, each time I read it,I knew who she should be with.It was a long, horrible, heartbreaking road, but one needed to get there and grow. There was a lot of growth, but true faces came out too.I felt bad for Ramsey, but I think someone could pick up the pieces and heal him. John,he's another story.I love Chyna and Adam. They had a story within a story, and came out good.
This series has everything.Growth, despair, heartache, anghast, regret and revenge.
Now after this book being published for several years, seeing Ms. Linda is ready to write Savannahs story in the Record series, how about,at last thinking about it a follow up on the Avoiding series. So much more could come out of this series.Would absolutely love to see all these people a few years down the road. It would never be easy, there are always complications, but I think an awesome story.
Overall, this is a great series, definitely worth the read

4 1/2 stars for this one...my only reason for not giving this book 5 stars was because Lexi really annoyed me! Really good story of how life often takes some strange turns of fate and decisions to get you there in the end.

Lexi's story is not a fairytale, but a much more complicated life over a 10 year period in this boxed set. Some of her decisions made me really want to get hold of her and give her a damn good shake and reality check! That said, the writing style was excellent to make me feel that much emotion. Lexi's story weaves around Jack, Ramsey, and in part John, but the constant niggle in the back of her mind is always Jack (this is where the shake some sense comes in).

I don't like to give any story away in my reviews, so that's as much as I will give, only to say that I don't know if I agreed with Lexi's final choice, but as the author said, it was Lexi's choice to make. Would recommend.
