Windforce 3X Cooling System
The WINDFORCE 3X cooling system features 3X 82mm unique blade fans, alternate spinning fan, 6 composite copper heat pipes, heat-pipe direct touch and 3D active fan functionality, together delivering an effective heat dissipation capacity for higher performance at lower temperatures
Unique Blade Fan
The airflow is spilt by the triangular fan edge, and guided smoothly through the 3D stripe curve on the fan surface, effectively enhancing the airflow.
Product Description
Alternate Spinning
The GIGABYTE “Alternate Spinning” is the only solution that can solve the turbulent airflow of three fans. The biggest problem with the three fans is turbulence. Since the fans rotate in the same direction, the airflow direction is opposite between the fans, which will cause turbulent airflow and reduce heat dissipation efficiency. GIGABYTE turns the middle fan in the opposite direction, so that the airflow direction between the two fans is the same, reducing the turbulence and enhancing the airflow pressure.
3D Active Fan
The 3D Active Fan provides semi-passive cooling, and the fans will remain off when the GPU is in a low load or low power game. It allows gamers to enjoy gameplay in complete silence when the system is running light or idle.
Heat Pipes Direct Touch
The shape of the pure copper heat pipes maximizes the direct contact area with the GPU, enhancing heat transfer. The heat pipes also cover the VRAM through a large metal plate contact to ensure proper cooling.
Composite Heat-Pipe
The composite heat-pipe combines thermal conductivity and phase transition to efficiently manage the heat transfer between two solid interfaces which increases cooling capacity.
RGB Fusion 2.0
With 16.7M customizable color options and numerous lighting effects, you can choose lighting effects or synchronize with other AORUS devices.

It's quieter, faster, and runs about as hot (72c max) in my fractal core 500 case as my old GTX 1070 with a less aggressive fan curve ( my case has 2 120mm intake fans and 1 140mm exhaust fan). The 2070 super also has 3 fans whereas my 1070 has 2. Short attention span review concludes, this card is worth $539 at time of purchase in March of 2020. Real time Ray tracing may cause unintentional jump scares for the uninitiated.
Novelization version of this review begins here
I received this GPU a day earlier than expected (On Saturday March 28th), and to be blunt, this was not my first choice for a RTX 2070 super, but rather, my ONLY choice. The shipping time on the rest of the GPUs was a month or more, apart from an EVGA blower card, and a triple slot card. Blowers are loud and my ITX case can't fit a triple slot card. Don't get me wrong, I like Gigabyte products, I just try to buy the card with the highest clock speed. This one boosts to about 1995MHz stock (Color me impressed), and doesn't get above 72c in my PC out of the box. I'm gonna tune the fans to be more aggressive as they're near silent at 75%, which seems to be the stock fan limit.
So on to performance, so far I've only had the time to play a few games on this card, I run my games on a 27 inch 1080p 144hz monitor (see below). I upgraded from a GTX 1070, EVGA superclocked model, and holy hardware magic Batman, how do they get so much more out of the same amount of VRAM? I know the VRAM is pretty much 2x as fast on the 2070 super as the 1070 but still... I'm impressed!
I've run these games so far
Control everything maxed, RTX on full), runs butter smooth, I mean I'm getting startled by Jesse's reflection in the windows smooth. Man real time relections mess with my brain... I can see Jesse's reflection when I'm watching the threshold kids on the little TV's... The difference with RTX in this game is almost subtle until you shoot a window cause your reflection startles you.
BeamNG Drive runs smoother too, I can really crank the reflections and other details, I can smash things with prettier details now.
GTA Online about the only online game I play online, not much of a social gamer, it runs way smoother, same settings, can't turn the game any higher.
My PC is as follows
Core i5 9400F
Gigabyte RTX 2070 super
MSI Z390l gaming edge ac ITX mobo
16gb DDR4 Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 2666
HP EX 920 512GB nVME SSD
Be Quiet Pure Rock heatsink
Seasonic focus gold 550w semi modular ATX PSU
2 uphere branded 120mm fans (top intake fans)
All of this is stuffed in a Fractal Core 500 ITX case
Now, if you're wondering if this GPU fits in a fractal core 500, the answer is, technically, yes. I had to move the magnetic dust filter to the outside of the case. It isn't pretty but I don't build PC's to stare at, honestly I barely have the time to game. The GPU never got hotter than 72c, which is about the same temp my 1070 ran at, I'll probably make the fans a bit more aggressive.
This GPU worked right outside the box. I had no driver issues, my PC recognized it normally, clock speed is as advertised. I don't overclock my components, so I can't really speak for overclocking performance. It's not really noisy. At least in my experience.
FRAMERATES, GAMING PERFORMANCE:
I'm able to maximize all settings at 1440p and maintain a 70 minimum FPS in most games. I'll give you a brief list in high-max settings (Notice that my CPU is a Ryzen 5 3700x):
Gears of War 5 - 80fps
F1 2019 - 70+fps
Kingdom Come Deliverance - 80-100fps
COD Modern Warfare 100~fps
Turn down some useless graphic settings (like anti-aliasing in higher resolutions), and you have 100+fps in most games. You won't notice a difference.
As far as 4k gaming, this isn't the right card for 4k high-max settings. HOWEVER, you can easily achieve 4k60fps by turning down settings to low. Consoles (and new gen) already do this, so you're not really behind consoles. But 4k gaming is doable with this card.
PRICE:
Nvidia... If you're a PC gamer, you know about Nvidia's pricing. Price/performance is very very poor. This card should not be this expensive, considering how close the 5700 XT is to this card in performance. But AMD'S driver are still very, VERY bad. If you're on a budget, I'd suggest waiting for RTX 30xxx series, so this card (and probably the 2080Ti) goes down drastically in price. If you have the money though, go for it. It is a really good card.
Hopefully this review was helpful. I don't go overboard with details... This is more of a gamer's perspective rather than a PC enthusiast-component expert.
P.S. make sure you get this card when it goes on sale, which it frequently does.
My set up is MSI MPG X570 Gaming Plus Motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 3700x, Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16 memory, Samsung EVO 960 120Gig SSD, Corsair 850 watt BQ power supply and a GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC 8G Graphics Card, 3X Windforce Fans, 8GB 256-Bit GDDR6.
This Card with my set up plays all new PC games on high or very high with no problems at all! 1080P rez. and it looks great with no heat issues with 3 fans and huge fins on the graphics card!!!
Top reviews from other countries
In terms of performance, this card EATS everything I throw at it(Resident evil 2 remake, gamecube & ps2 emulators, LoL, overwatch, csgo, FF 15). Some games are just so under powered that the card doesn't even reach 40C+ so the fans don't turn on. I believe the fans kick in at around 50C but I've never seen this thing go over 65C on full load. It's also surprisingly quiet.
I have two cons for this card.
1-Its THICC(not an issue for me, but can be for some). Make sure your PCI 3.0 or 4.0 slot doesn't cover anything else like the chipset fan on x570 motherboards or any other PCI or network slots.
2-PRICE. THIS THING IS EXPENSIVE. However, this card is probably the 2nd best card you can get for your money(assuming 2080TI is for enthusiast). The 2080 super's price isn't justified for the amount of performance boost you get over this.
Overall very solid card, as a first time builder I am EXTREMELY pleased with my purchased. I was debating between this or the 5700xt and with all the driver issues being reported, the 5700xt doesn't seem worth. Like seriously this thing just works right out of the box. Hell windows will even install the drivers for you right away and you can use it perfectly, have had 0 issues with it.
