Publisher's summary

Wanted: American nanny for an adorable four-year old. Must be able to handle a moody, brooding, sexy British boss.

I’m a single father, a lawyer, and some say the most serious man in London. I’m completely focused on raising my four-year-old daughter.

Since my wife walked out three years ago, the only woman who has ever caught my eye is the strictly off-limits sister-in-law of my best friend, Autumn Lumen.

But temptation is easy to resist because Autumn is only visiting London from Oregon.

Until she moves to London. The nanny quits. And she’s the only woman for the job.

Mr Smithfield is a stand-alone book in the Mister Series.

My Thoughts on Mr. Smithfield

This was another amazing story by Louise Bay. It’s the kind of book you finish in a day because you just don’t want to put it down. And with great main characters like Gabriel and Autumn, it makes perfect sense why it’s hard to stop reading. Gabriel was a loving, attentive father who makes his daughter his number one priority. He was hurt by his wife walking out on him and their child years ago so was determined to only focus on providing for his daughter and spending time with her. But even that gives a good idea of what a good guy he is. He fought his feelings for Autumn but it was a losing battle. She was so fun and upbeat and really just exactly what he needed. The secondary characters were also fantastic. Not only did I love seeing more of the characters I loved from previous Louise Bay books, but I’m also excited for what’s to come. Gabriel still has a few single friends and I can’t wait to see them meet their matches. The characters overall were probably my favorite part of this book. There were several different personalities, and even the one that I thought I had pegged turned out to have more going on then I expected. This was just an excellent book that I would highly recommend to fellow contemporary fans. Especially those who like a good British hero.

Narration on this one is perfection. I love Shane East and Andi Arndt so I had not hesitation when I saw them as narrators when it came to spending the credit on this. They did not disappoint. I loved listening to them and the way they really brought the story to life.

Started Promising

I love the narrators, and I like a good subordinate boss love story, but it just took a dive for me after the ex wife came back into the picture. What women in their right mind would let another women try again with her husband after she left for 3 years. It just made no sense and then that he actually was like ok I’ll try again was just the stupidest end to a good storyline. And after all that you don’t even give Suva proposal or together married in the future deal. You give us a what do you think if I’d ask you to marry me scenario. I pretty much had checked out at that point anyway. Don’t waste your money. Try another book.

I can’t

I have 3 hours left of this book and I’m struggling to finish. It’s pretty bad. The storyline, the cheesiness. Don’t get me wrong I love these type of books so I know what good is supposed to sound like and this one just dragged on and on and was pretty bad. I read the reviews and everyone seemed to say it was amazing. I’m so confused LOL. Buy at your own risk.

Love!!

Another great book from Louise Bay! Autumn is a fun loving, full of life and happiness nanny to an adorable 4 yr old Bethany. Gabriel is a hard working sexy lawyer who is a devoted Dad. Autumn and Gabriel both are attracted to one another but don’t want to act on it until they can’t hold back anymore. They have some hurdles to get through but overall low angst and drama. Very enjoyable audiobook

will be asking for money back

I have read a ton of romance novels and generally love them and get through them in a day or two, but never had it been this difficult to get through an audibook. Tedious and boring, just goes on and on and on with mundane conversations and nothing really happens. the storyline doesn't flow and feels first too rushed and unnatural and then just drags on forever. a terrible book that just left me annoyed and irritated for wasting my time, the only reason I finished it is I hate wasting a credit. I will not be buying any more books by this author for sure!!!

Kinda Slow!

Good story, however it was a little slow getting to the point. Autumn was kind of a pain at times with the "oh it's best for you".

I tried

I love Louise Bay and her books and the narrators were spectacular (as usual) but this was just a hard book for me to get through, in fact I couldn't finish it. I thought I could power through the last couple hours, but I find the whole self-sacrificing "It's for the best" stuff quite frustrating. Maybe it would resolve itself in the end, I don't know, but I just wanted to pull a Cher and tell Autumn to "snap out of it!"

Another Cute London Love Story

If you are looking for a cute HEA, look no further. As a third story in this Misters series, it was nice to see all the previous characters come together.

Autumn and Gabriel

A sweet, endearing, heartfelt and steamy romance. Shane East and Andi Arndt are fantastic narrators. I enjoyed every single second of this adorable story.
