I bought this last week, and have fun with this toy. However, if touch screen is ready, this must be more useful to use it.

My original garmin 530 crashed. After a frustrating time trying to find answers on line I talked to my local bike shop and they put me in touch directly with the service center in KC.  Previously had been communicating with London? Spoke with excellent tech(after getting through the phone tree - I didn't realize Garmin had so many products!) who concluded my device was dead. Said pack it up and we'll send you a new one. I am super stoked! and back on the road. And connected to tracker so that my wife can follow my route - she's super stoked, too. She originally suggested I get a garmin. I was reluctant but sure do love it now. Thanks again. Phil Filbrandt

Purchased my new Garmin 530 3 weeks ago.

I got this bike computer,about month ago,still trying to understand how to use it,but for the most part it's a VERY GOOD bike computer!! PS your customer service rep name Paui-very,very helpful!!

Very good bike computer

I used it for about 18 Months. It is a great gadget. 
It greatest helps is on climbs, when I was using a course it keeps me on track about the ascension. 
Having 10 field in real time is also great. 
BUT... while on bikepacking countest, or just on tours the Edge 530 turns off and than back on again. No too often but enough to give one a short anxiety kick when in middle of nowhere... a forrest in the middle of Transylvania, where I live...

For bikepacking and day tours

Been a Garmin Edge fan for many years. I stick with the 500 series due to its compact size and battery life. My main thing is cycling related features so I can track my training and riding performances.

Best Computer for biking

With Speed, Cadence, Remote, HRM sensors and the Rally RS200 Power-meter pedals, this robust compact cycling navi really becomes a connected powerhouse for serious analytics both live during training and later analysis via the Connect app and -portal. Battery lasts forever.

Though its routing capabilities, available apps (via the mediocre ConnectIQ store) and its UI (through soo many functions via too many button presses), feel outdated compared to modern Smartphones.

Setting-up data screens after many firmware updates sadly still can't be done drag-drop via the Connect app yet only via zillion button presses in the 530. Once finally setup though, no need to reconfigure this luckily ever again.

All things considered, a very handy versatile bike-computer. Recommended

Edge 530 is a wonderful product. Unfortunately, the elevation gain recording doesn't work properly. Did reset the device as advised, no change. Doesn't work properly, means - the real elevation gain is e.g. 1,100 m and my Garmin shows 550 m. My friends with Edge 530 have the same issue. Seems to be a buck with the 530. That is very unfortunate for such a great product. Next to that, a wonderful device. I'm receptive to any good suggestion!

Elevation recording doesn't work accurately

18 month old Garmin 530, screen bubbles with a bit of rain then falls off and put the unit in alarm. And it is supposed to be IPX7. Was a great unit but not if it can't even last 18 months with only a 12 month warranty. Wahoo next!

Poorly constructed - not buying Garmin again
