Thirst Trap

Rate this book
Rule #1 of social media: Don't post anything you might regret.

Rule #2: Don't fall in love with a thirst trap.

Definition of a thirst trap: A sexy photograph, video or message posted on social media for the intent of causing others to profess their attraction.
Thirst traps are meant to entice. To make women wish for something they can’t have.
You’re not supposed to fall in love with one.
In my defense, I didn’t mean to. It was just supposed to be one night of fun. One night where I could forget my responsibilities and family name. Where I could just be a girl in a bar.
I didn’t expect the sexy small town cop to come sliding into my life on his knees. Literally. Or his dance moves to sear themselves into my memory. Or that kiss...
To his millions of followers he’s Officer Sexy. To me he’s just Jake. The only man who has ever made me want more. The only one who has ever seen me for me.
The man I wasn’t supposed to fall in love with.

If you’re not familiar with TikTok you should be. I loved this story. When I started reading this book I automatically seen Kingery the dancing cop some might remember from LivePD. JJ (Justin C) and his Fanny pack and a guy by the name WesFitness (not sure of his exact username). This is a pretty fast paced story and instalove but such a good read. I’ve known Miss Sloan many years from Facebook groups I’m in but never actually sat and read any of her books and for that I’m ashamed to say. Now I can say I can’t wait to read more of her books and see what she has to come. Y’all go check her out on the ole Tikky Tokky. She’s awesome!

This was nice. It wasn’t anything groundbreaking but I enjoyed myself. I really liked the focus on their relationship and the effect his “hobby” had on it. I’m sure it applies to quite a few people in this TikTok era. Some parts felt underdeveloped but I was still pleased with the final result.

I'm in love with this novella by Chelle Sloan! There wasn’t a dull moment the entire time!

This was an instant attraction romance that finds trouble because of social media.
Jake and Whitley were so much fun and were so hot to read.

Thirst Trap is a little spin off of her Nashville Fury series but you don't have to read the series to get this one. Thirst Trap is able to stand completely on its own. (But I highly suggest reading the series because Chelle Sloan can write a sports romance like it's nobody's business!)

Chelle Sloan's writing is incredible. She paints every scene so vividly with her words. There's a lap dance moment in the story and she writes it in such detail that I can picture EVERY move made during the dance. (It's the guy giving the lap dance and it's HOT!)

If you are looking for a fun, HOT read, I highly suggest this one!

Thirst Trap is a standalone novella. However, Whitley(h) is the little sister of Hunter the H from the first book, Off the Record, in the Nashville Fury series. Thirst Trap is the first book that I have read from this author.

The book is told in dual pov

The story begins with Whitley McAvoy (h age 26) at this bar in Nashville for her friend Ella Mae’s bachelorette party. This is where Whitley meets Jake Evans (H) aka “Officer Sexy”. Jake is a police officer and got the nickname “Officer Sexy” from a dare he once did. While at the bar, Jake’s friend Trent dares him to go over and give the bride to be a dance. Jake ends up spotting Whitley and thinks she is the most beautiful woman that he has ever seen. Being one to never turn down a dare and wanting to talk to the most beautiful woman Jake has ever seen, he accepts. The bride to be is shy so she volunteers Whitley for a dance. Jake’s determined to give Whitley a dance that she will never forget. He proceeds to give Whitley a Magic Mike style dance. Sparks fly and there is an undeniable connection between the two.

Whitley is a part of a famous family. Whitley’s father was a pro football player and her brother is now a famous football coach. Unfortunately, Whitley learned from an early age that people usually want something from her once they find out about her family. She is used to men just wanting her for tickets to game etc…. Also, Whitley was Miss Teen Alabama so she is used to some men just wanting to date a former beauty queen. Therefore, she has never had a serious relationship or brought a guy home to meet the family. Whitley just wants a man to want her for her.

“I want to meet someone new. Someone like I’ve never met before—someone who doesn’t want me to get them an autograph.”.

She never shows public displays of affection and has never had a one night stand because she doesn’t want a potential scandal. Jake doesn’t seem to know who Whitley is, so she decides to cut loose for a change and have a one night stand with him. The two end up having the best night of their lives. The next morning, neither is eager to leave. Unfortunately, they live two hours away from each other (Jake lives in a small town called Rolling Hills and Whitley lives in Birmingham) so they agree that it is best to go their separate ways. However, neither one of them can get the other off their mind.

It turns out; Jake’s friend Trent filmed him doing his “Officer Sexy” dance that night and posted the video on ForU(it’s like Tik Tok). Jake has become a thirst trap an instant viral sensation. Initially, Jake isn’t thrilled about it because his friend didn’t ask for his permission before posting the video. Trent says that Jake can make money by posting more videos. Jake needs money as soon as possible to help his mother get a new roof. He decides to make more videos to help his mom. Plus, he does enjoy dancing. What could go wrong, right? Jake and Whitley reconnect after Whitley’s friend gives Jake Whitley’s phone number. They start a relationship. The two have to navigate this new long distance relationship along with the ups and downs of instant internet fame.

I really liked Jake and Whitley together. This was a bit of an insta love kind of story. Their relationship did move fast, but it seemed natural. Jake was a really great guy and was considerate. Whitley was a sweet girl that just wanted a guy to love her for her. Jake was a good match for her. Jake loved Whitley for who she was and had no ulterior motives for being with her.

“You listen to me,” I say, breaking away just enough so I can say what I need to. “I don’t care if you are the Princess of England. I don’t care if you are the president’s daughter or that your brother is a big-wig football coach. All I care about is you. Because you, sweetness, are the only one for me.”~ Jake to Whitley

They also had a great group of friends. Trent needed to stop springing stuff on Jake though. It all worked out in the end.

There is a tiny bit of OW drama, but it’s a misunderstanding and gets cleared up fast.

Whitley’s famous family kept getting mentioned, so I thought there would be some scenes with her family but there weren’t any scenes in the book with her family. The author did write a bonus scene of Jake and Whitley meeting her family for the first time, but you have to sign up for the author’s news letter to get the bonus scene. It was a nice and funny bonus scene. I wish the scene would have been put in the book as an epilogue. Also, I wish that Jake’s family would have made an appearance in the novella. He mentions his mom, sister, niece, and nephew so it would have been nice to get a scene with his family.

Overall, I think it was a nice story. This was a novella so the story was only one hundred some pages long. I like that there wasn’t a ton of drama and the drama was cleared up fast. In the acknowledgements for the book, the author said this isn’t the last readers have seen of Jake or the Rolling Hills crew. I think I’ll read Whitley’s brother’s book Off the Record.

Thirst Trap by Chelle Sloan is a quick and fun read that had me smiling the entire time. Whitley hides who she truly is because she knows sometimes others take advantage. All she wanted was a night to be herself and to have fun. The last thing she expected was Jake, the charming and sexy cop to come into her life, even if it was for one night, right? I loved their chemistry and connection. Could this be more than either expected? This was a very sweet and steamy read with great characters.

Happy reading!

(ARC Review) This was such a fun and modern story and WHEW this novella was spicy.

It's a total standalone but we did meet Whitley in Off the Record as the younger sister of coach McAvoy. She doesn't like men to find out about her famous football family, or they become more interested in tickets than her. When she has a surprise interaction with a real life thirst trap, she finds she can't resist her Officer Sexy.

This definitely felt like a fully formed and delivered story, which is not always the case with a novella but this felt like the perfect length for this story. It was fun, super sexy, and hard to put down!

From the beginning to end Chelle kept the story going with humor and sexiness. It was a short novella but it was not short on story. It was a fun a flirty story wrapped up in the modern day and age with all of social media. Chelle weaved a story that people could relate to and get a few laughs. I mean who hasn’t beenn mesmerized and fallen down the rabbit whole that is Tik Tok. This funny and spicy and a quick read but you will not be disappointed.

This was such a fun and easy to read novella. Form start to finish there were plenty of laughs, I was smiling the whole way through.

I just loved Whitley and Jake. What a perfect match these two are! From the instant attraction to the way they fell for each other without even realising it was happening - these two might just be couple goals.

Now I need to go back to read Chelle Sloan’s Nashville Fury world!

Super cute

Full fan now after finding Chelle on Tik Tok and hearing about this novella. The writing was clean, the sex scenes were good, and the story was good. No drawn out fight over the typical misunderstanding plot twist which I appreciated! Maybe because it’s a novella, maybe because it’s the first one of hers that I’ve read, maybe I was just impressed overall! Can’t wait to read another.

This is an honest review for an arc received.

“Are you coming or are you going to keep flirting with Wish.com Magic Mike?”

Whitley McAvoy has always felt like an afterthought when compared to her father and brother. She learned from a very young age that a lot of people only befriended her to get to her famous family members, or to get tickets to the Iron Bowl. When in Nashville for her best friends bachelorette party, she’s thrust in the arms of a gorgeous man that offered up a dance.

That is how Officer Sexy started in the first place. A dare.

Jake Evans (aka Officer sexy) is a police officer in a very small town. When he first lays eyes on Whitley he’s captivated by her beauty. Determined to give her the dance of her life, all he really wants is to get to know her. When his video goes viral he becomes an instant sexy, dancing sensation. But will an ill-timed video destroy what he and Whitley are building? Will he ever learn to say no to a dare?

Because that feeling—this feeling—you dont let it go, no matter the obstacles.”

5 fantastic and sexy thirst trap stars!! Chelle Sloan will dance her way into your heart with this sweet, sexy and steamy novella. It’s the perfect feel good story. I’m so happy she decided to give us Whitley’s story. Jake, lord knows women love a man that can dance. I fell in love with these two characters instantly.

This story everything! Instant attraction, humor, and sexiness all rolled in to a fun flirty novella.

Whitley has trouble finding a man that wants her for her instead of her name and family. Jake is a police officer in a small town where is coined "officer sexy" after dancing for a couple of elderly ladies on their birthday. These two meet at a bar in Nashville where Whitley is for her best friends bachelorette party, and Jake is having a night out with his friends. An instant attraction and a dare lead to one amazing night between these two, but it also leads to a video going viral and officer sexy is now a sexy, dancing, viral Thirst Trap.

These two are absolutely perfect for each other, and their chemistry is instant and hot! This is a feel good, sexy and fun story that you definitely don't want to miss!

Even better than expected

Okay, I admit it. I was excited when I heard about this book. I am on TikTok, I follow Chelle, I know about Thirst Traps... I tag her in them! So yeah, I was excited about this book. But then when I saw it was Whitley!!! I about lost my mind! Whitley was introduced as Hunter's sister in Off the Record! Loved that book... read it if you haven't yet... but now we get a peek at Whitley's life! Yaaay! And she is just adorable. And Jake. Wooohoo I could see soooo many creators from TT being the inspiration for him. The story was great, the characters were relatable, as usual and it felt real. This could have been a real life situation and I would not question it one bit. Hot, sexy, fun, and funny (and more!) Everything I have come to expect from Chelle... who, I must say is becoming one of my favorite authors!

Chelle Sloan has knocked out another fabulous story! This is a fun and quick novella and it left me wanting more of both characters.

Whitley and Jake were very relatable characters and all the situations they faced were very realistic.

Whitley doesn’t let loose often, but a weekend in Nashville for a bachelorette party changes her life. Jake, the sexy cop/cowboy who gives a dance on a dare is mesmerized by Whitley’s beauty. One night just wasn’t enough. Navigating haters, social media, and long distance made this fast paced story a real page turner, and one I’d definitely recommend!!

Thirst Trap is the perfect novella to kick off the summer with! Chelle Sloan knows her audience, and she packed a whole lot of steam into a short, quick read.

Whitley is an accomplished, successful woman that’s always afraid of what people might want from her. Especially seeing as her brother, and dad, are both BFD’s in the football world.

Jake is a sweet, gorgeous cop who loves to dance, and never turns down a dare from his friends. He’s also a fan of my favorite football team, so it immediately upped his hotness factor for me personally.🦅

This novella is a must read!

Okay, so I didn't really know what a thirst trap was. I'm not on tik tok, but chelle sloan is my newest go to, automatic read, so I went for it. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was even though it was so short. The whole "pony" scene, you couldn't have wiped the smile off my face if you tried. This book had everything a full length romance novel has minus the time commitment. Not to mention, it's part of the Nashville Fury series, so there's a couple of sports references tied to the other books.

A hot and sexy novella! I loved Jake and Whitley! Jake was so hot and I could just imagine him dancing like Magic Mike. I admit, I was a little jealous of Whitley that she got to experience the lap dance from "Officer Sexy". They had an instant attraction to each other, but both thought it was a one-time thing, until they tried to go about their every day lives and couldn't stop thinking about each other. Would they be able to make a long-distance relationship work, or would Jake's internet persona get in the way? This is the first book I have read by Chelle Sloan, but it definitely won't be the last!

Of course Chelle Sloan writes a book about thirst traps! She is the queen of sharing them 🤣. This was such a cute and quick read about Jake and Whitley who had a chance encounter that turned into a relationship. Whitley just wanted to be a normal girl that wasn’t known for her families ties to the football world and Jake gave her just that. I totally pictured all kinds of moves in my head when I read this story. Loved it!!

Man does Jake remind me of a few guys on the Tok. Please tell me there will be a continuation of this story. A part 2. I need more of this couple. This was such a cute story. I read this in less then an hour and a half. Between getting my kiddo on the bus and starting my own school work. Perfect way to de-stress for me. I love the way you tell a story and love the way you build a world. I can't wait for everyone else to read this book!!

Fast Love

This story is an instant love story that starts at a bar. Whitley is famous because of her beauty pageant days as well as her link as the sister of a famous coach and a daughter of a famous football player. So men are often not just after Whitley as a person, they’re in it for her family. But that’s all put to the side when she meets Jake Evans during her friends bachelorette party. He doesn’t know who she is, so she feels she can let her guard down.

I feel the story was just a very simple story, little conflict and just brushing the surface of what it could’ve been. I didn’t love it but I didn’t hate it either.

This was such a fun, steamy read that I now need something to cool me off. I love the story and the characters. Their banter and the instant connection was hot, hot, hot. It also left me wanting so much more of Jake and Whitley. I have not read much by this author but will now be binge reading her backlist. Make sure you grab this story if you haven’t already.

This new author continues the scoring run of stories with this new novella set in the Nashville Fury world!

This lovely and too short story features Whitley and Jake.

Whitley is just enjoying time away from her world, to just be Whitley and not just her family's name and legacy. A weekend away and an absolutely smoking hot meet-cute with Jake aka "Officer Sexy".

Jake can never say no to a dare and what a dare this was!

I loved the dual POVs in this story, the dialogue was on point and Ms. Sloan has a great way to write humor into her story.

You get a bit of angst, a ton of heat and swoons aplenty with this cute, funny novella. I just wonder...was Jake's character based on a real thirst trap?

Loved this novella. I originally found Chelle on TikTok, so this was a perfect first book to read and it certainly wont be my last. This was such a fun read with plenty of "thirsty" moments. If you've been on TikTok even a little bit, there was several details that I KNOW I've seen in videos on there. Well done!! You are one of my new favorite authors.

So good

Such a good book. I loved that the author raised the issue of consent with guys. It seems that women don’t think about touching men without permission. It goes both ways. Love the book it was funny and cute.
