From the manufacturer

Zero distortion. The ultimate 14-24mm wide-aperture zoom lens.

Image captured with the SIGMA 14-24mm F2.8 DG HSM | Art lens by Lea Tippett

Setting a new standard for excellence in ultra-wide-angle lenses

Leveraging major manufacturing advances at the Aizu factory, SIGMA is now producing ultra-high-precision molded glass aspherical lens elements as large as φ80mm and incorporating them in new products. This premier optical technology promises to set a new standard for excellence in ultra-wide-angle lenses.

For the Art line, SIGMA began development simultaneously of two ultra-wide-angle lenses offering the key focal length of 14mm: one prime, and one zoom. In 2017, the company launched the 14mm F1.8 DG HSM | Art as the ultimate ultra-wide-angle prime lens. This lens offers outstanding image quality in combination with F1.8 brightness.

Now SIGMA is introducing the 14-24mm F2.8 DG HSM | Art as the ultimate ultra-wide-angle zoom. While minimizing distortion, this lens offers outstanding F2.8 brightness throughout the zoom range and delivers top-level image quality at every focal length and every shooting distance. For these reasons, it is the definitive large-diameter ultra-wide-angle zoom lens.

Highly effective dust- and splash-proof structure

Like SIGMA’s Sports line lenses, the 14-24mm F2.8 DG HSM | Art features a highly effective dust- and splash-proof structure with special sealing at the mount connection, manual focus ring, zoom ring, and cover connection, allowing photographers to work in all types of weather. In addition, the front of the lens is protected by a water- and oil-repellent coating that makes cleaning easy. The high-speed, high-accuracy autofocus helps photographers react in an instant to get those special shots.

This premier optical technology promises to set a new standard for excellence in ultra-wide-angle lenses.

Smooth bokeh and minimised flare.

The 9-blade rounded diaphragm creates an attractive blur in the out-of-focus areas of the image.

From an early stage in the lens design process, flare and ghosting have been measured to establish an optical design resistant to strong incident light sources such as backlighting. SIGMA’s Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces flare and ghosting to help photographers produce sharp and high contrast images even in backlit conditions.

Made in Japan

All Sigma products, lenses, cameras and flash units are manufactured exclusively by Sigma in Sigma’s own factory in Aizu, Japan. No Sigma Corporation product – lens, camera or flash – is manufactured outside of Japan. This is very unusual these days, as most companies have at least some of their products produced outside of Japan because of cost considerations.

There's a reason why SIGMA continues to insist on the very highest quality in its product manufacturing: our love of photography is second to none.

We deeply appreciate the photographer's desire to record and express—the passion of the photographer.

Front Conversion Service (Optional)

To support the needs of virtual reality creators engaged in multi-camera videography, SIGMA is offering the new Front Conversion Service for the 14-24mm F2.8 DG HSM | Art lens . With this service, SIGMA converts the petal-type hood of the lens to an exclusive round component that lacks a light-blocking function. The new front helps prevent the lens from interfering with other lenses or from casting a visible shadow during multi-camera work. This is a for-fee service performed exclusively by SIGMA.

This lens was purchased Dec. of 2020. I wanted to use it on several shoots before making the review. This is my first Sigma lens, and so far, it's preforming great for my business. Shooting Real Estate gets you in to tight spots, the 14mm wide gets me what I need. Moving up to the 24mm end, I can get more specific features of a house. Color renditions are on par with any Canon lens I have, or better! Auto focus works good, just need find a focal point the camera can detect in low light. But the lens works great on auto focus. Focusing on wide angle lenses is not as critical as other focal lengths, unless your pixel peeping, most of the frame will be in focus. Two draw backs that I have notice: First is no IS. All my shots are on a tripod, so no big deal, but if your into landscapes or astrophotography, stabilization in a BIG plus! Second, is vertical distortion. Typical with wide angle lenses. Correctable in post processing. I will be purchasing more Sigma lenses in the future.

I have had very good luck with matching my Canon cameras with Sigma lenses. I was pleased to see that Sigma started a new line of ART lenses. I ordered this one to replace my old Tokina wide angle. The image quality from the Sigma is much improved over the Tokina. Yes, in both cases they are heavy aspherical lenses but the build on the Sigma is sturdy and the action is smooth. Focusing is also quick. I bought the lens primarily for real estate and so far very pleased with its performance. Attached is one shot from a Senior session.
