About this item
- iRestore Laser Hair Growth System is a FDA-cleared hair loss treatment and laser hair growth device for treating alopecia, receding hairline, balding and thinning hair to stimulate hair growth for women and men.
- 6-Month Money Back Guarantee – Users can expect to see visible hair improvement in as little as 3 to 6 months (results may vary). If you don’t see results with our laser hair loss products in 6 months, send it back for a refund (less a 10% restocking fee) IMPORTANT NOTE: Contact the seller directly if purchased over 30 days ago as Amazon’s system only allows 30 days for returns.
- iRestore has been clinically studied by doctors and has been proven to promote hair growth for men and women in a recent 2017 research study. In this clinical study, an astonishing 100% of active male and female users saw visible hair growth with an average increase of 43.2% in hair count (Scroll down to the "RELATED VIDEO SHORTS" section below to learn more)
- Whether you're a man or a woman, you can grow thicker, fuller, and healthier hair fast with iRestore's clinical-strength laser hair restoration technology. You can use it on its own or combine it with other hair loss treatments; physicians believe low level laser therapy can be used to enhance the results of other hair loss treatments (such as biotin supplements, hair growth shampoo, biotin conditioner, foam, minoxidil, Propecia, finasteride, and other hair growth products)
- Developed in GMP-certified facilities, this home-use laser hair growth cap is durable, lightweight, comfortable, hands-free and easy to use. This is unlike a laser comb and brush that provides far less coverage AND requires constant hand movement, which is tiring, inconvenient, and prevents you from going about your day

"I'm blown away with the results!"
We know what you’re thinking. Yes, it really does work for most types of hair loss. Just take a look at Christine's results!
"It works!"
James felt hopeless and insecure about his bald spot. He reached for his hat every time he went out in public. Listen to his story and how he was able to get his hair back.
Do only lasers work for hair regrowth? I heard LEDs aren't effective.
It's a misconception that LEDs don't work. Lasers have NOT been clinically shown to be more effective than LEDs. In fact, it's been clinically shown that the combination of lasers and LEDs are effective for treating hair loss.
Why might longer treatment times (25 minutes "iRestore") be more effective than shorter ones (6 minutes, other brands)?
Our engineers believe longer treatment times are more beneficial because more time allows more light energy to be absorbed by your follicles to stimulate hair growth. We don’t recommend other devices that advertise shorter treatment times.
How long until I start to see visible results?
You can expect to see visible results from low-level light therapy within 3 to 6 months of continued use — 25-minute sessions every other day. Results may vary from individual to individual.
Can you combine iRestore with other treatments?
Yes, you can. Or you can use it on its own. Our customers have reported seeing better results by combining iRestore with other hair loss treatments, such as our Max Growth Bundle.
What’s the difference between the Essential and the Professional?
The main difference is the number of laser and LED diodes — 120 vs 282 — and the additional sides and back scalp coverage provided by the iRestore Professional.

Bottom line about the laser cap: it works! - in combination with other treatments, as I will report.
I am a female, mid 70s, never had thick hair, but it started thinning severely after menopause. Several years ago, when my hair loss became really noticeable I decided to go for hair transplant surgery. I knew it would take 12 to 18 months for the hair to grow back in, but I got impatient within a couple months and started using minoxidil (5% foam) once a day in the area on top of my head where thinning was worst. After about a year the results were looking pretty good. For several more years I continued using minoxidil, but eventually it was clear I was once again losing hair. Obviously the hair transplant worked initially but did not give permanent improvement, and the minoxidil was not sufficient to prevent hair loss.
I lost faith in minoxidil at this point, and switched to the popularly advertised supplement Viviscal. I used Viviscal faithfully for a full year (stopping minoxidil). I saw that my hair loss got much worse over this time. I was seeing severe bald spots on top of my head and was pretty desperate. My conclusion about Viviscal is that it had absolutely no beneficial result in my experience.
Based on my experience so far, I concluded that the surgery worked, but the results were not permanent. My underlying condition caused me to still lose hair. I believe minoxidil probably slowed the rate of hair loss somewhat. I reached that conclusion since after I stopped minoxidil completely and switched to Vivisical, the rate of hair loss became much worse.
After that year using Viviscal I was pretty desperate and decided to try the laser cap. This was 6 months ago. I stopped Viviscal, went back to using minoxidil same way as before (5% foam once a day), and started using the laser cap as instructed, 25 minutes every other day. I also started taking a biotin supplement (5 mg per day) at the same time.
The way I gauge hair loss is by "combing" my wet hair with my fingers every morning and checking how much hair comes out on my fingers. During the Viviscal days, my daily hair loss was significant. Within a few weeks of starting the laser cap/ minoxidil/ biotin hair loss dropped a lot, and within a few months it dropped to virtually zero.
I will say that I found the minoxidil led to pretty significant dandruff and scalp itching within about a month's time. I switched to a popular dandruff shampoo and increased my hair-washing frequency to 4-5 times a week. The dandruff & itching came under control pretty quickly and has not been a problem since then.
After about 3 months of using the laser cap I started to feel a little fuzziness under my fingertips when I rubbed the top of my head and thought it might be a sign of new hair growth. I started to see gray hairs emerging and had to color my hair a little more quickly than I normally would. But that was a good thing!
After 6 months, I am definitely seeing good hair growth on top of my head. Other people, including my doctor, have also commented that my hair is looking better. However – and this is interesting – I realized my hair is quite thin in the upper back of my head, where I was not using minoxidil (even though the laser cap does hit that region). I also notice some other thin hair areas in spots where I was not applying minoxidil. This leads me to believe it is the combination of the laser cap and minoxidil that gives the good result. I am now using minoxidil over a larger area.
I hope to see improvements in these other thinning areas over the next several months and will update this review.
I feel like there is a farming analogy here – when you are farming you have to first prepare the soil by tilling or aerating or something like that. You also need fertilizer. I see the laser cap as "preparing the soil" and the minoxidil as the "fertilizer". Not sure about the biotin contribution but I continue to use it.
I plan to keep using the laser cap indefinitely but probably after I feel I have reached my personal best for hair growth I will cut back on minoxidil. If hair loss starts to become apparent I think I will notice it right away and can increase the minoxidil.
One complaint I have about the laser cap is that it does not stay in place during use unless I keep my face pointed slightly downward (which is awkward). If I face forward, the cap tends to slip to the back and fall off unless I hold it in place. There should be a better way of keeping the cap from slipping backward when the user is facing forward.
I also have a concern about the power cord. No matter how careful I am with it, the cord forms "kinks" which I have to carefully untwist every time. So far this has not caused a problem but I think that eventually this could be a failure mechanism. I would suggest either a different type of wire that does not kink so easily, or else change the design so the wire can be easily replaced if it becomes necessary.
I am very pleased with my hair growth using the laser cap.
First thing is first,...I do not work for the company, nor do I have a vested interest in whether you purchase this product or not. I am only writing this review, not for the manufacturer, but for you and others like you, that are suffering from hair loss. Alright,...let us begin.
What you want to know is whether this device works, and if so, is it worth the money. Well,...I can tell you that it works, yes, it does benefit the reduction and also the regrowth of hair follicles. If you want to know that science of what the device does, you can see countless videos made that discuss what light therapy does to your scalp. Is it worth the cash? For me, it was. For you, well,..it's your money, so I can only suggest that it is cheaper and way less invasive that a hair transplant. Now, that being said, if you are bald and have not seen hair follicles in years, this device will not help you. If have thinning hair and want to make your hair thicker and regrow hair follicles that are not gone, but simply dormant, this device will do what it promises.
I want to say two more things and then I am gone. First, you are going to find more expensive and also cheaper machines that promise the same thing as this device. DO YOUR RESEARCH. The more expensive ones are simply that, more expensive. The cheaper ones, well, they are trash. You'll find that the cheap ones are just l.e.d. bulbs and no laser. This type of device will do nothing but aggravate you and waste your time and money. Second thing, and this one you should really take to heart. This device alone, will only do so much. Think of this device as the sun. Think of your hair as the grass. Think of your scalp as the dirt. Your body, more importantly, what you put in it, feeds your scalp. My point is,...diet, namely yours. I'll use myself as an example. I don't smoke. I eat very healthy. I work out. I take the appropriate vitamins and minerals. I clean my scalp with a DHT blocker shampoo. I use a honey based conditioner. I do also use an over the counter minoxidil.
Just know that it will not be one thing that saves you from your hair loss. It will be multiple things, the right things, that turn things around for you. Do your research and stay committed to a specific routine. I hope the very best for you as you go on this journey, but do something today, because once your hair is gone,...it's not going to come back on it's own.
UPDATE : (Date - 08/05/2018)
Where do I begin? My hair has had such a positive reaction to this device, I almost cannot believe what I am witnessing. My hair is thicker and is growing in areas, my crown and my receding front hair line, for the first time in over a decade. I don't know what else to say to you, if you are thinking about buying this device, but are hesitant. Just buy it. You will NOT regret it.

Btw, I must note that this is not the only thing I am trying. I am taking Viviscal supplements and using Viviscal shampoo and conditioner too. I am also oiling my hair, rinsing my hair with green tea after washing and practicing balayam yoga.
Day 1: First impressions are good. The helmet is nowhere as heavy as I had expected, and it was very easy to setup and use. It did start to feel a bit heavy towards the end of the 25 minute session but not overly so.
Day 10: Ok, so I have been using this religiously for the last ten days (25 min session every alternate day). So far I don’t see much progress but then again, I wasn’t expecting to. It is probably still too early to notice any difference. On the box it says hair fall should reduce within a month or two so lets see. On the plus side, I don't see any increased shedding that I was told to expect initially. On the minus side, i do get a slight headache while using it. It is mild and it does go away pretty quickly after the session is done but if you suffer from migraines or regular headaches, you want to be a bit careful.
1.5 months: It has been slightly more than 1.5 months so far, and i still see no difference. My hair continues to shed at the same rate, i still see patches and i am still depressed about my hair loss. A bit disappointing but i am not giving up hope. I will continue using this. Also to be fair, i did skip using it for about 10 days last month as i was on a vacation and I didn’t want to lug it around. I am keeping the 5 star review for now because i think it would be unfair to change it before giving it a proper chance, but i may change it the next time I update the review if I don't see results by then.
2.5 months: Ok, so it has been close to 2.5 months now and I have started seeing some positive results. Yay yay yay!! My hair loss is slowly reducing and I see a couple of new hairs on top of my head. I am still losing hair but while it used to be enough to make me cry everytime I combed my hair, now it looks somewhat normal. I still lose more than I like when I wash my hair so hoping that would change soon. Although I have not seen any miraculous results so far, I seem to be responding the way they said so I am ok.
P.S. - Again, I want to stress that this is not the only thing I am doing. I am still taking the supplements, oiling my hair etc. However, I had been doing those things before iRestore too so I feel somewhat confident in saying that the device seems to be helping. One main thing I started last month was collagen supplements. I feel that has helped too.
Almost 5 months - Unfortunately my hair loss journey has taken a turn for the worse. My hair fall has increased considerably in the last 1.5 month. I must, however note that I haven’t been very disciplined in using the helmet and other hair loss remedies due to some personal issues as well as some travelling i did. I missed a few days of using the helmet, and i forgot to take the collagen on more than a few occasions. My hair feels thin and limp, and i feel a bit upset to be honest. I wish i had something more positive to share but this is how things are at the moment. I plan to be more disciplined in my approach from today and hopefully by my next update i will have better news.
7 months - I have been using the helmet very regularly in the last two months and I have seen some positive results. I am seeing quite a few new baby hairs popping up on my scalp. They are very prominently visible when I wash my hair. That said, I am still continuing to lose hair. That has not decreased at all. However, I now suspect that this could be due to my shampoo and other products. Because my hair has become so thin, I am using a lot of volumizing products hoping they will add some bulk to it. But I think they are making my hair dry and brittle. Recently my friend commented that my hair looks very frizzy. So I have now switched to a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, and hoping that will help. In fact, iRestore recently sent me their new conditioner as part of a promotion so I am really excited to try that. I also switched from Viviscal to Priorin because after almost 8 months on viviscal, I can confidently say that it is not helping much, and it is so expensive. I am still continuing with collagen and all the other stuff. I will report back next month after trying the new supplements, shampoo and the irestore conditioner. But for now, I am happy with the baby hairs sprouting on top of my head. Yay.
Final update and views: I kinda got bored and stopped updating my results but I have been using the machine pretty consistently all this time. It has been close to 15-16 months now since I started using it. Except a couple of times when I went on vacation, I have used it on alternate days very regularly. After all this time, I can tell you that this doesn't give you any miraculous results. My hairfall has reduced a bit and I did see some baby hair growth at one point but I have been doing so many things for my hair that it is hard to pin down the benefits to any one thing. Also, my hair still looks pretty thin, especially on the scalp. I have not regained my lost hair. I have now accepted it and it doesn't bother me much anymore. All that said, in all fairness, this device was never advertised for hormonal hair loss which is what I have.
So all in all I would say that no, this has not given me any noteworthy results. But I do not regret the purchase because a) I had heard a lot about the benefits of laser combs and devices, and atleast now I don't have to keep wondering if I missed out on something that might have potentially helped and b) when I was really desperate about my hair, this gave me a psychological boost. And it did help a little, just nothing miraculous. Whether these benefits are worth spending so much money on is something you have to decide for yourself. But please don't go by the reviews that tell you that the thickness of their ponytail increased dramatically in a month etc. That is highly, highly unlikely to happen. I am keeping the rating at 5 because personally, I did see some benefits and I also feel that people are more likely to pay attention to 5 star ratings.
As my hair is going gray I do color it which also helps the new little ones stand out.
And in general the system seems to be benefitting the rest of my hair as well.
The collage of pictures are as follows:
1 The dots are follicles with microscopic hair but at least they are alive
2 It is very faint but you may be able to see these tiny white hairs in this shot, these are what appear to get replaced with better thicker hairs
3 this is the outer edge of my hairline with little white hairs got darker and thicker
4 a mix of new hair with older established hair at the front edge of my hair line, yes the older established hair is much thicker but the little ones keep getting better and help the coverage
5 another outer edge of hairline with thickening hairs
6 same again this is not new per say but reinvigorated hair that was invisible before
7 sample of hair an inch into my hairline at the front to who how established hair looks, but in there are little ones and multiples coming our of a single follicle
8 is the back of my head in one of the worst spots now thicker (not great) but with multiple hairs in one follicle as well.

Also think it’s made of cheap material because all of a sudden I go to use it and it won’t power up anymore, no matter where it’s plug in. Waste of money.
I hope this continues until the 6th month. Will update.
