Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Received a leek with all green tops removed from curbside pickup. I never would have selected such an item myself. I expect more from Whole Foods. Removing leaves is usually done by stores when their inventory is starting to go bad, the leaves wilt first. For the recipe I was making the green tops were essential. Please stop this practice. If you want to use up your old inventory, create a separate option for "last chance produce", charge less, and describe it clearly as "stem only".
When it comes to adding that extra touch of magic to my culinary creations, Organic Leeks are my secret weapon. With their slender, elegant form and mild yet distinct flavor, they possess a transformative power that cannot be denied. When combined with potatoes, they create a symphony of taste that dances upon the palate, leaving one craving more.
In the realm of leek soup, Organic Leeks reign supreme. Their delicate yet robust essence infuses the broth with a depth of flavor that is both comforting and invigorating. As I simmer the leeks, their aromatic presence fills the kitchen, wafting through the air like a gust of culinary inspiration.
But it is not just their culinary prowess that captivates me; it is their organic nature that truly sets them apart. Knowing that these leeks have been cultivated with care, free from harmful pesticides and chemicals, adds an extra layer of satisfaction to every bite. It is a testament to the commitment to quality and the environment that shines through in every Organic Leek.
If you have never heard of the French Leak skinny soup you must look it up! This is a French women secret dieting trick. Books have been written about it and so it is easy to learn more. Amazing easy, delicious and nutritious way to tweak your dieting routine. It is a clear light soup of very few ingredients and very easy to make.
Then.. there is also vichyssoise soup.. a creamy divine silky smooth soup that is a staple of the royal tables around the world.
Leek is very unassuming veggie that few people buy and the rest have no idea what to do with it let alone how to handle it. There are those virtuosos of the kitchen who know all about it and its secret and use it as an amazing dish enhancer, or as a main star.
In any case, do read more about the leak. Leak is a very powerful veggie that is a king of European soups but also has many other uses.
Once you learn how to use it, you won't be able to do without it.
Leak is VERY forgiving comes to keeping. it really does not go bad easily.. you can keep it for weeks on end in a Ziploc bag with few punched holes for breathing and it will keep and keep and keep.. use a little.. use a lot.. but have it and use it.
In case you ever wondered about the name.. there are some theories and then there are legends.. but consider that it is diuretic.. that's all I am saying :)...
Clean, delicious, fresh, good for people and the whole planet, too. Make sure you understand this item is sold by weight (the price is given per pound, and what they call a bunch is actually one leek). Wonderful for soups, stews, salads, quiches, appetizers... Haven’t come up with a dessert recipe for leeks yet, but who knows?! “Conventional” leeks are grown industrially in sand or low quality yellow soil soaked with chemical fertilizers. Leeks always have some dirt residue at the base of the outmost 4-5 leaves, which is washed off very easily. Having a little real, dark dirt there is a good sign that these “organic” leeks were grown right. I wash and use the greens too (thinly sliced as well), they are not only yummy but filled with nutrients.
Wonderful, wonderful. Inasmuch as only one leek was depictured, I only expected one plant. Wonderful, wonderful. Just what I wanted.
I happen to enjoy Ramen Noodle; a few shredded pieces of leek further enhance this dish. Yes, I enjoy Ramen Noodles, but I also enjoy 'fine' foods/meals.
