One of the best features of this smartphone is its long aspect ratio. I can browse while chatting which is a fresh experience on a mobile device like this. It also still includes all the ports you might need, like AUX output and SD Card slot. The fingerprint scanner is also in an ideal location, such that whenever you turn on or unlock the phone you don't even notice your finger was scanned.
Battery life is great, and stamina mode just extends it further. You can easily go 2 days with moderate usage. I can see why it's one of the selling points on this device. Not sure what people see in Apple or Samsung. Sony has had the secret sauce for years.
They really have mastered the art of "Executive Cool" if that makes sense.
Anything else is average
Fingerprint bad
All looks fine on the phone considering VoLTE implementation, and phones being rejected that are not equiped with VoLTE capability here in the US.
Sony phone with the newest Saifish OS (Jolla) will work and make and receive phone calls utilizing T Mobile SIM card (Redpocket). Tect messaging will not receive media.
Phone looks elegant and looks like Sony device.
However, the reason I returned my unit is that the colors on the screen were off. I first noticed it while playing a game. In the game, certain menus cause the background to darken. On my Nokia 5.3, this all looks normal, but on the Xperia 10 iii, some of the darkened colors stood out more. I decided to install a screen test app on both phones. Side-by-side, it's pretty obvious on some of the tests that there are color issues with the screen. One particular test includes dark to light gradients of various colors. On the Nokia phone, this all looked normal, but on the Xperia, several of the dark end colors stood out, and appeared more redish than black. Also, the blue gradient was not smooth, as it had a couple spots where the blue colors changed drastically between the bars.
I've included pics of both phones (taken with a 3rd phone) in this review. On the Nokia, everything looks pretty good. On the Xperia, pay particular attention to the left side of the horizontal gradient bars, as you'll notice that the left-most edge stands out quite a bit on the red, pink, yellow, and white sections. Also, in the area of the blue bar just to the left of the middle you can see a couple spots where the dark-to-light transition is pretty stark.
Other than this color issue, the phone seemed decent for the little amount of time I spent using it. The screen seemed like it had a good range between dim and bright, low-end volumes did not seem to crackle like I've noticed with other phones, and performance was good.
A lot of other reviews complained about the lack of 5G, but I did not do any network or call testing to comment on this.
