It’s perfect on my hours long bike rides, load enough to hear but not so loud that it drowns out upcoming traffic. I hope it lasts as long as my last one.
The inaugural use was on a weekend hiking trip. I strapped the light speaker to the outside of my pack, linked it up, and had my ears blasted with crunchy splotches of music. Evidently, Mr. Buckshot couldn't connect too well, given the fact that my phone was in my front pocket, roughly 3 feet away. To test, I moved the phone closer and, behold, it worked!! So, for the remainder of the hiking trip, I had to stow my phone adjacent to the speaker on my pack, which meant: no pictures, no telling time, no changing songs/playlists. (Who needs to manually change songs anyways??)
Since then, I've given it another field test or two, with the same results. The bluetooth on this speaker is so bad, I almost enjoy it. Being a masochist, if the thing talked down to me in between its awful reception ("you like that sh**ty connectivity, don't you?"), I'd likely keep it. But it doesn't, so it's like gratification denial without any of the fun.
Overall, the weight is good, the size is good, but it literally cannot perform its only task. As they say, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice....can't get fooled again.
I had no problems mounting it to the handlebar using the supplied strap. It seemed secure enough for my road riding. The battery lasted the duration of the ride, I couldn't have asked for more. The volume was loud enough for me to hear it, and hear traffic around me; it was the perfect balance.

The idea of a rugged portable speaker for outdoor use is really cool. I wanted to use this on my bicycle for especially long rides to break up the monotony. The Buckshot 2.0 seemed designed pretty much exactly for that at first.
Unfortunately there are a bunch of problems with it, both in quality, design and usability.
* It has a built-in weird quirky voice that tells you in a rather comical way when it is turned on/off, when connected and when volume is maxed out. It doesn't really affect usability, but after the first few giggles it gets pretty annoying.
* The texture on the speaker body makes it really difficult to feel your way to where the buttons are without looking and even harder to know if you've found the correct button or not. You can basically not operate this speaker at all without proper lighting and looking at it. This might not affect you, but for me it was a pretty serious drawback, using it on my bike on night rides...
* The mounting options look good in the pictures but are pretty fiddly and cumbersome to use in practice. The plastic "clip" is made from a super hard plastic that doesn't flex anything at all, so you can't actually clip it onto anything without a serious effort. The elastic strap that you get with it is pretty thin and needs to be stretched almost to the brekaing point to keep the speaker in place.
All these things I can deal with. But the fatal flaw is the battery. It didn't take long for mine to die. It just won't charge anymore after a few months of not using it. I suspect that there is some small trickle of power drain even when turned off and that there is nothing that protects the battery to become drained to the point where it can no longer hold a charge. Once it gets into this state the speaker is completely unusable. It cannot even be directly powered over USB.
If you choose to buy this speaker you should make sure that it can never fully discharge! Neither through use or disuse!
I now use a Tribit StormBox Micro instead.
teléfono.. Para mi muy útil
