Product Description
Air cooling vs AIO cooler - What are the benefits?
Better Performance, Lower Temperatures, Ultra Quiet.
The CPU is a core component of your system, which is why it's important to use the cooling solution that's right for you.
Traditional air-coolers are great for everyday applications, providing a current of air across the CPU to remove excess heat. When running more intensive applications such as gaming however, you should expect an increase in both temperature and noise output as fans adjust to their maximum RPM.
Unlike a traditional air-cooler, the EK AIO utilizes a closed water-loop, running liquid coolant directly over your CPU to dissipate excess heat. Not only is it more efficient, but unlike an air-cooler this excess heat is then expelled directly out of the case via the radiator fans.
Better cooling efficiency means lower running temperatures, better gaming performance and lower noise output.
State of the art engineering
Designed with our industry-leading expertise, the EK AIO offers the key benefits of liquid-cooling, in one compact and easy to use solution. Pros:
Compatible with all modern platforms (minus Threadripper, and lga2011 or other Xeon sockets)
Sleek clean design
Fans provided with splitter adapter
2 thermal paste options available when new
Cons: (mostly cosmetic)
RGB is automatic on when installed
No on block RGB controller or standalone unit
No adapter for the RGB header
My machine is mainly a CAD workstation, it has no windows and isnt built for interior aesthetics, it also only has 12v RGB headers on board which this is not compatible with. Having the spill of rainbow rave lights billow out of my case at night like a tiny daftpunk concert is going on inside is not really something I find desirable. I hope in future generations of this product EK provides an RGB controller with this as it will be extremely useful for those who are like me or even those who enjoy the mini rave aesthetic.
In conclusion. Even if you dont like the RGB thing, this is a very well built and reliable product. I strongly recommend it simply because of its performance quality.
its now december, 2023. which is great for an unopened AIO
its starting to get pump whine (which was always there at full speed) but now its
quite a bit more "prominent" sounding. to which, sounds more like gravel kind of?
so, im searching for a replacement as i dont believe RMA is a thing since i didnt purchase thru EK
let alone how long its been. Never the less, its done GREAT for the R7 5800x i have, with the ek vardar fans that came with it, along with the other case fans i have installed prior. (max temps do get up there now) but before the pump issue i never seen over 80. unless i allowed PBO to just be untamed. now, with a tame PBO (that i know for sure used to be under 75c) now hits 90 without question, so the pump is indeed dying, or fluids have ran dry.
its been top mounted for this entire time, and ive replaced the thermal paste 2x within this time span, as its about due again (as i just do it when i clean the machine with a tear down). never the less, id still purchase again more so now that the pricing has dropped. (ive since added 4x8gb ram overclocked B-die sticks, 3070ti (ftw3 ultra+ overclocked OFC!) and quite a bit more storage to my pc in general.) either way, if your looking for an EK product that gets the job done, this is something to consider, although i wished id gotten the 280mm instead of the 240 at that time.
Photos taken on poco f2 pro thru Amazon app.
Gotta say this over my ml 240l there's a difference in idle temps as well as max temp and how long it takes to get there, will also say the fan quality is inferior to NONE which is know to be almost fact for ek vardar fans. Anyhow if you can get this cooler for around (now is around 80 u.s.d.) in 2023) 120 I suggest getting it. There is one with longer hoses on eks official site I just couldn't find it again when I ordered mine so I ordered here plus ek charged a heavier tax. If you have a small case youll be fine with hose length included . I'll also note I went from artic mx4 silver thermal paste to thermal grizzly kryonot. Unsure if that's where the true temp change lies or not but non the less I feel safer with this aio.

The tubes are pointed in a direction that probably has them hitting the RAM, but you can carefully twist them to re-orient them below the RAM.

The tubes are pointed in a direction that probably has them hitting the RAM, but you can carefully twist them to re-orient them below the RAM.
I'll try to claim warranty but i feel like i should just give up for AIO market and keep using air coolers.
Will edit according to warranty claim result
Edit:
I was able to fulfill the RMA and the EKWB delivered the replacement without any issues whatsoever. They were in charge of both pick up and delivery with a third party company and received the replacement in about 2 weeks after reporting the faulty AIO.
Just make sure to send them a video presenting the AIO malfunctioning if it's the case and make sure you test both PUMP and CPU_FAN headers.
It has been about 2 weeks since i received the replacement and haven't had any issues. This AIO does really cool your CPU since i was using a NOCTUA NH-D15s and when i switched to the AIO temps dropped 20c in max load with cinebench.
Installation was fairly easy, but I do think you should have *some* experience with working in PCs before you try to install it yourself. The instructions that came in the box were clear very clear and easy to follow.
After installing, I played a few hours of Destiny 2 to test the cooling performance and speed. I was boosting to 4.14Ghz the entire time and the CPU didn't get above 60°C!!
Overall I'm incredibly happy with the performance of this cooler and I highly recommend it! :D

Estetica - 10/10. Unico motivo per prenderlo.
Semplicità d'installazione - 5/10. Cavi della pompa troppo lunghi, cavi D-RGB troppo corti.
Prestazioni - 7.5/10. Adeguato, ma niente di eccezzionale.
Software RGB - 0/10. Unico motivo per evitarlo.
Conclusion a acheter sans ce poser trop de question !
