About the Author

TOM FLETCHER is one of the UK's bestselling authors for children and creator of the incredibly successful Who’s In Your Book? picture-book series. His first book The Christmasaurus was the biggest debut middle-grade novel of 2016, and The Creakers was a number one bestseller. The Dinosaur That Pooped picture books, written with his bandmate Dougie Poynter, have sold over a million copies. I have a 15 month old I take care of and I got her this book for Christmas. She has about 70 books if not more and this is by far her favorite book! She picks it up and brings it to me multiple times a day. I think she loves the interactive aspect of it. Definitely getting her more!!

Author Tom Fletcher has written a text that will delight young children and call for their participation in the story. “Oh, Look! There’s an egg in your book! It looks ready to hatch. Whatever you do, don’t turn the page….” The story is filled with instructions like this and then some catastrophe happens when the reader turns the page.

Greg Abbott’s illustrations also call for interaction from the students – showing just what happened when the page is turned against the instructions of the author.

There’s a Dragon in Your Book is a Children’s Choice Award finalist. .

I purchase the book to add to our library collection so that my students can participate in the voting process. I’m glad I did – it is a fun book. I think it will make a great addition to our picture book collection.

Possible area of concern – some audiences might have a problem with dragons. If that is your library, please read the book first before purchasing it.
