    There is no question about the fine quality of this dash-cam. I works as advertised. I also purchased the Suction Cup Mount for the front camera because I didn't want the included mount permanently stuck to the windshield. The suction cup mount works well. The rear camera has no option for removal once attached, so I mounted a magnet to the back window, and a thin metal plate to the camera mount and bent the edges up to prevent it from shifting position while driving. (see included photos) It works! Thinkware should design a quick release out for the rear camera.The reason for the 4-star rating is, the firmware update does not work as indicated. The instructions say 'format the included microSD card, copy the firmware files to the card, insert into the webcam and power up. It will automatically update.' No! It kept saying, 'format the SD card' again and again. I did format the card! I followed their instructions to the letter. I finally gave up. Another reason for the 4-star rating is, you have to use their proprietary SD cards, which are three times more expensive than other equivalent brands. Otherwise, it's a nice dash-cam.

I also found out it records voice inside, you hear everything once you download and watch, it also smooths out the video when you download it. Overall a very nice front and rear camera for when one of you speeders hit me I’ll be able to prove it was not my fault.

    The video quality is good but a little on the bright side, which is configurable. The only thing stopping this cam from getting a 5/5 is the app. The app you have to use for this dashcam is horrible. However, once configured, you really only have to connect to it when you want to copy videos to your phone. The videos are recorded in a span of 1-minute intervals. I kind of wish this was configurable, too. The nighttime video capture is good as well. I just wish the app was better built and more user-friendly.

If you use the car diagnostic plug for power source make sure to check the camera connection after taking your car to the repair shop. Sometimes those guys don’t put the plug back in and you’ll lose power to the camera. Just make sure to check the plug is inserted properly for constant power.

    I had the Pro 200 for two years along with the Extreme micro SD card. It has performed flawlessly- both front and back rear cameras. I attribute the performance due to the commercial upgrade SD card.

    It has been in my windshield in FL, SC, NC, and VA in direct sunlight.

    What’s more, in the summertime I install a silver heat reflecting screen to reduce interior heat. The camera is trapped between the screen and the windshield in direct sunlight. It must be over at least 120 deg F.

    IF, and I’d there’s a suggestion (like all card readable tools) the Thinkware software can stand some improvement. But as an engineer my theory is that SW is never FOC. It’s always IOC, always overly expensive, and labor intensive. Just run with it.

    If you’d looking for a solid dual cam setup this is the one.

    BTW, I did buy the external power cord plug that fits into the diagnostic car system. The fuse box connection made me Squamish on car warranty should an electric problem arise.

The issue I've had is two rear cameras fail, both times right after the one year warranty was over. Thinkware support couldn't determine the exact reason why they failed. Could possibly be the constant heat from Phoenix summers but I would hope that something designed to be in a vehicle would be designed to withstand the temperature fluctuations that vehicles experience.

    I have had several dashcams in my truck now and I have found that the screen inside the car can be distracting at night and is not useful outside of configuration (that is usually not very intuitive onscreen anyway); this dashcam is small and discreet, and has no bright light in the cabin at night. The picture quality is pretty good, and the 'Pro' kit included the hardwire and plug in adapter. Overall, I am quite happy with this dashcam.

    My only complaint is that the GPS antenna was not included and had to be purchased separately.

    I bought this camera not expecting a lot as I have had some terrible experience with other cameras but the thinkware surpassed every expectation. I also got the gps sensor and the OBD2 power plug. The camera was easy to install, setup and use (powers on and off with the ignition). Video quality is amazing.     I was hesitant because I saw some one star reviews. However I liked the design of this so I bought it.

    I got to be honest, I am not disappointed at all. This is a well-designed good working DashCam.

    I purchased the camera, the GPS, and the power cable that plugs into the OD port.

    Installation was very easy. I especially liked the cable that went to the back camera. I ran it along the seams in the headliner and it literally took me six minutes. It was a nice clean install.

    I updated the firmware, went through all the parameters and set them to my preferences, and the camera just works.

    I find the parking mode works much better than my old system, and, I liked that it can accept a 128 gig card. Lots of room to store videos.

    I used to be an auto mechanic and I felt my expertise would help with the install. I really did not need it. Just take your time read the directions and look at the video feed in the app when you were ready to place your camera on the windshield. This way you will get a perfect install.

    A definite five stars. This review is not the result of any promotion I am just really happy with the product.

    Install was fairly straightforward. Long back camera cord. I ordered the plug for under dash diagnostic port so just plugged it in and go. Only problem was installed back cam upside down and had to peel the sticky thing off window. Should have some kind of indicator (?). Camera is fairly small and fit well on my window.

    File size fixed at 80 mb - only 1 minute long? That's a LOT of movies to look through
    Camera quality is mediocre. You would think HD @ 1180 would be OK but you can't really see fine detail like licence plate numbers at any kind of distance.
    No volume, can't turn voice off, can't turn internal mic off (?)
    No on off button at all

    Overall, OK quality at OK price but if your requirements are more professional like a company vehicle or something you should get a 4k camera. This unit sadly requires some more programming into the options. Very annoying.
