4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 1,362 ratings

From Amazon top 40 best selling author Giana Darling comes the highly anticipated conclusion to The Enslaved Duet, a dark love story between a runaway bride and the ruthless husband who is determined to win her back by any means necessary…

It was the worst day of my life.
I know most people say that about something obviously horrific—a first heartbreak, the discovery of a fatal illness, or the funeral of a loved one—but my situation was a little different.
Not only was it my wedding day, but it was also the day I chose to die.
Two men.
The first, my Master, my captor, and my impossible love.
The other, his brother, a mafioso I was meant to ensnare and ruin.
If I had any hope of living a normal life reunited with my family, I had to make a choice.
End my old life as I knew it and start fresh, or take down the monsters that hunted me and haunted my Master.
In the end, the decision was never really mine to make. Because Alexander Davenport would come to claim me even in death.

I loved this book and series. This is the second book in The Enslaved Duet and you MUST read book one, Enthralled first to get the complete story and not end up lost and confused. This duet gives readers Cosima and Alexander's hot, dark, twisted and very painful romance. I will say that this duet is not for all readers. As, I just said this series contains content that will be simply too dark and disturbing for some tastes (BDSM) or very big triggers for others. These include but are not limited to: kidnapping, human trafficking, physical, mental and sexual abuse, rape and torture. Trust me when I say that this duet has some of the vilest evil that I have ever experienced in a book. So please, if you have doubts or concerns, you should stop and consider before buying and reading.
The second piece of Cosima and Xan's was a long time coming but it was totally worth the wait. Plus, I also felt that we as readers got to experience just a small sliver of the longing and desire that this couple had to endure as their complex and complicated story unfolded. I'll tell you right up front that these two and their epic story are going to break you. There is simply no way to prepare yourself for the intense storm of heartbreak, angst, betrayals, drama, raw emotions, jaw-dropping twists, stomach turning disgust, nail-biting suspense, vengeful rage, terror and sizzling passion that are going to bombard you while you are reading these books. This couple's journey and story are like a skillfully woven web that will ensnare you and pull you under and keep you there until at the last minute, when it lets you break free into the light, gasping for breath, stunned and forever marked by the experience.

Giana really knows how to capture me from the start with her fabulous writing, but as with all her other books, sometimes she goes a bit wild and I get lost in her words and thrown off course of the story.

I loved the dark and cruel, as well as the powerful dynamic between Cosima and Alexander in the first book Enthralled, so I was very excited to get my hands on the conclusion to this dark story. Though, while there were some darkish parts in this second book, it had a generally lighter feel to it, with hardly any cruel scenes. I didn’t expect this sudden change of feel in a story which threw me for a loop.

I wasn’t sure how to rate this book because I really loved most of it but I felt that the secondary characters interrupted the flow of the main story too much. I mean, I absolutely loved the secondary characters and I can’t wait to read all their own stories but I really wanted Cosima and Alexander’s story to have all the focus like it did in the first book.

Also, some things seemed rushed and only explained instead of experienced, whereas other things were drawn out and too detailed. For such a complex, powerful and secret society, I was surprised at how easily they got the Order out of their way.

Of course this was a well written and fabulous story, and I loved for Cosima and Alexander to finally have their happily ever after, but I just loved the first book more. What can I say?! The devil in me likes to see some suffering and pain. Sorry, not sorry. =P

To be honest, after the first book, I wasn’t sure if Alexander really deserved Cosima and I was unsure on how he could atone for what he’d done to her. But in this book, I felt like he really learned his lessons, and their gravitational pull towards each other wasn’t to ignore. So naturally, Cosi and Alex belonged together.

I was very happy about the cameos from characters of The Evolution of Sin Trilogy. I was giddy with excitement when Sinclair appeared, I blushed and felt hot around Dante, and I was very happy about Salvatore being a part of it. I can’t wait to read Dante’s and Sebastian’s stories, especially after this book because it gave me so much to speculate about their books and I love these characters more and more with everything new I learn about them.

I got to know Giselle, Elena, Sebastian, Sinclair, and all the other characters I already met in the author's previous books, from a different side. I felt sympathy towards a character I didn't think I could ever like one little bit. But Cosima's big and loving heart showed me the cracks and depths of people I thought shallow and selfish.

There was a bit of an up and down in this book. When I thought there was an ending in sight, it took a turn for better or worse right after. It felt a bit jumpy because of it, as if the author wanted to put more into the story and kept adding and adding without paying attention on how it flowed and fit together. Talk about being all over the place, there was just so much happening.

As I mentioned above, this book was different than the first. It wasn't as dark and showed Cosima's development into a strong and independent woman, still plagued by heartbreak and worry for her loved ones and still careless and blind to people who only saw her as a plaything. She's a shell, void of all the things she felt when she was with Alexander. Their reunion was bittersweet and took longer than I expected for him to last without her. I really liked that it wasn't rushed and that the story was woven into a construct of family, friends, enemies, intrigues, love, hate, and not to forget the scorching hot sex scenes. Although I was missing some of the cruelty from the first book, I know that it would have held Cosima back to grow like she did in this book and form an even tighter bond to her family, friends and her husband.

dark romance sings a siren’s song to my heart, and with this duet especially, no wax in the world could prevent me from needing it’s call. my adoration for Giana Darling and her books knows no bounds. i’m completely, utterly obsessed with each of her books, and Enamoured was no exception. this book ripped my heart to bits, so vicious in its torment and its near-lethal dose of angst. it was shoddily stitched back together with the sweet finale of alexander and cosima’s story, but i fear i’ll never recover from this book. it’s a lush, sumptuous continuation of a hades & persephone retelling of wicked anti-hero and brilliant heroine. it’s chock full of decadent filthy, steamy BDSM elements, and the storyline is heavily stamped with mafia influence.

this novel picks up where its predecessor left readers hanging, with Cosima running away from Alexander on their wedding day, having been threatened by his cruel, imperious father. she is forced to start life anew, reimagine herself, under the keen eye of her mafioso brother-in-law, Dante, and her father. having made her choice, months flake away, and though their love is epic, they remain separated. Alexander bides his time to snare Cosima once more—forever this time—and elects to focus on bringing down the order of dionysus, carefully rearranging the chessboard so as to make his greatest play. Cosima carved a name for herself in the real world, having found the strength to face the insurmountable, though she still desperately holds onto her dream of reuniting with Alexander. but their connection is too strong to deny, and two years later, they reunite to take down the cruel monsters that have long haunted them. though victims of circumstance in every which way, they stake out to conquer a future they would die for.

this book was a dizzying kaleidoscope of angst, betrayal, drama, pain, heartbreak, and an indefatigable love that endures through the twist and turns of every page. characters evolved, simultaneously strengthening and softening. the plot pitched towards a terrifying darkness. beloved side-characters made magnetizing cameos. this tale made heroes out of both Cosima and Alexander, and i found myself tumbling in love with them more than i ever had before. walking the line of morally-grey and quite gritty, this book was a thrilling read from start to finish! 💫

In this book, a lot goes on regarding Cosima and the order. She goes thru a lot (TW: ab*se), but she proved she is stronger than ever.

Just when you think they will finally get their HEA, a new villain gets into their path and they have to stay apart. But after all, they get they well deserved HEA!

I recommend you to read only if you love a heavy dark read.

5 big stars!
I loved this book. So much going on. I enjoyed the suspense, the drama, the darkness and the brightness, the dominance and the submission that is the story of Cos and Xan. The heat and chemistry between these 2 characters is palpable. I couldn't get enough of the hot sex scenes too. So awesome! I can't wait for Dante's book.

I’m flabbergasted, blown away, completely enamoured and awed by Giana’s epic conclusion to this duet.
It is long but there is soo much to happen. This is an epic battle against all their foes- plus a few more that were unexpected, a battle of wits, the long awaited moves on a chess board to finally get that checkmate that you’ve been dying for, the bitter sweetness of revenge and retaliation against evil. It’s what we’ve been waiting for and needing after Cosima ran away battered and bleeding.

This book picks up with Alexander’s awareness that his wife has gone. And we watch him grow as he slowly moves his pieces into play to take down the Order of Dionysus so that he may one day again be with his wife.

We watch Cosima grow up in the real world, to understand the she herself was her reason for living, but that she could use other people for her happiness. She bides her time with the fantasy that her husband will come back to claim her.

The love between these two is epic. While it began as purely physical, Cosima’s love and kindness was able to leech beneath Alexander’s hard exterior to show him that he did have a heart after all.

Be aware that there will be many moments of loud cursing and exclamations and you enjoy his journey that Giana sends you on.

PS,I can’t wait for Dante’s story, I think he’ll make us swoon so hard!

This is the second book in the Enslaved Duet, and the conclusion to Alexander, and Cosima, epic love story. Forced apart in order to keep herself, and her Master alive, Cosima's had to move on with her life, and try and put the pieces of her shattered heart back together. When Alexander comes to claim back his wife, Cosima has tried to forget him, but their connection in undeniable, and their souls are forever connected. This book was amazing, so well written, and the characters captivated me, and their chemistry exploded from the pages. This book is dark, depraved, intense, twisted, action-packed, suspenseful, dramatic, gripping, raw, emotional, and steamy. I highly recommend this duet. 4.5 Stars
