In the tradition of all Black and Decker products, this one exceeded my expectations. Not only was it easy to assemble by myself, but I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it is to use. Make sure you have a place to put the clippings as it doesn't have a mulch function and if you don't attach the bag the clippings will build up and cause the mower to shut down until you clean it out. Came with two 40v batteries which is nice, but I have a third 40v battery which allows me to mow even longer. The built-in battery tester allows you to quickly and easily check how much time you have left before you need to switch it out, so if you've been mowing for a while and it stops all of a sudden just flip up the battery cover and press the button to see if it's the battery. Also, the bag fill indicator is great. No more having to stop and peak into the bag to see if it's full, just glance down at the bag and if the orange flap is down it's full and needs to be changed.

I would recommend this mower to anyone needing to maintain a very small to small yard that is not in an overgrown state. I got it late in the season and enjoy looking at a lush, thick, well-maintained lawn all summer so I leave it at a higher setting as a personal preference. This requires me to mow more often, but doing so is a breeze with this mower.

Amazing for maintaining small yards!

I was nervous about moving to a smaller mower after owning the 36v selfpropelled model with a 19" deck. I didn't want to go back to pushing bit what this mower does great is MOVE! It is super easy to push due to its light weight and it is mush faster at mowing my lawn then the larger mover. I haven't pulled my old mower out on months so I guess it's going on Craigslist now that I have this little 40v wonder! 

PS: Yes, it's expensive but that's because it comes with (2) 40v 2.0ah batteries and the quick charger. Your paying mostly for these expensive items.

Don't let it's small size fool you!

I have a 46" riding mower to mow my 1 acre yard but for smaller jobs this is perfect. When I bought it the first yard I mowed was a 1/4 acre yard the grass was 2- 3' high and this mower with 2 batteries did the whole job!  I mowed slow had to empty the bagger a lot but I was surprised how well it handled it. The rear bagger works great and my wife loves it because it is light easy to start it folds for transport,  excellent product.  Highly recommended.

Love it!

Using this on ROUGH yard neglected by renters for 6 years, after hand-clipping blackberries and removing thatch with my Black & Decker battery-powered weed trimmer.  Works better than I expected.  Handle is a little awkward to put together, but once done, it folds for easy storage and transport.  Battery run time approx. 20 min. in 50-degree weather.

It is a good product

I was skeptical about the power of this lawn mower before buying it and sure enough when I tried it, found it quite disappointing. It will shut down everything you try to cut grass at 1,2 or 3 setting. It just doesn't have enough power to cut thick grass or under 3 inch setting. Battery also doesn't last more than 10min max each so that was a hassle too.
I guess electric/corded one would have better power even though handling the cord would be inconvenient but at least one can get the job done.
Luckily, I bought it from Walmart so return wasn't an issue at all. I will not recommend this one unless you need to cut few feet of grass.

I don't know how there are any reviews above 1. First of all, it takes 4 hours to charge 1 battery. The battery barley last 10 mins. I have 3 batteries, can't even get the yard cut. It's a small yard. It took 3 days to cut the front yard. With the amount of charging time. Still working on the back yard. On day 2 of mowing that. It's not worth any money. It barely cuts grass and stalls if you have the setting below 5. Completely waste of money and time. Trust me do not waste your money. I spoke with my neighbor who recently purchased one also. Her lawnmower started smoking after 2 months of purchase.

Definitelly Gas still is the best or at least corded motors. This batery one I would not reccomend unless using on a very thiny small grass spot. Even with two batteries they didnt last for a small bungalow backyard.. I'll wait new and better batery technologies.

This lawnmower was missing a washer that keeps the handle in place. Also, the batteries provided only last about 20 min. However, the lawnmower maneuvers and cuts well. I suggest looking for something with better battery life. Furthermore, I only used this a few times last year due to the lack of cutting power, with short battery life, and on the first mow this year, the wheel fell off. This lawnmower is genuinely a defective product by this company.
