Wall Street Journal & USA Today Bestselling author, Nana Malone writes Sexy Feel-Good Romance and loves of all things romance and adventure.

That love started with a tattered romantic suspense she "borrowed" from her cousin. It was a sultry summer afternoon in Ghana, and Nana was a precocious thirteen. She's been in love with kick butt heroines ever since. With her overactive imagination, and channeling her inner Buffy, it was only a matter a time before she started creating her own characters.

East Bound
Hear No Evil Trilogy #2
By: Nana Malone

REVIEW ☆☆☆☆

East Bound, second in Nana Malone's Hear No Evil trilogy, delivers with her signature never-a-dull-moment-style that readers have come to expect and love. Myself included.

East and Nyla-such a dynamic pair- continue on from the previous book, East End. FYI, you do need to read the series in order if you want anything to make sense and for the full effect. A lot has happened and is continuing to happen because the angst, betrayal and drama never stop. The plot is complicated and all kinds of twisted with characters who have individual motives but collective goals.

East and Nyla are both reeling from the sting of betrayal. Where do they go from here? Obviously, trust, or the lack of, is a problem. I seriously like all of these characters, past and present, and this is maybe my favorite aspect of Nana Malone's work. The characters are authentic, complex, relatable and familiar in such a way that we are now like friends. Or, I'm crazy. Whatever. The point is that I genuinely want good things to happen and am totally invested. Thus, I love these books!

No matter what, somehow, things have a way of turning and shifting and working out all the way to the edge of the cliff. Every dang time. And, the waiting commences. Not a fan of waiting. Can we have answers now?

Holy crap that was an intensive mind blowing and suspenseful adventure. Oh it was so dam good that it had me talking out loud to my iPad and when the battery died on it I switched to my phone at 2:00 a.m because I had to finish it. Wow, the ending was spectacular! Really Nana your killing me. I have some theories about some things and I can’t wait to find out if I’m correct in the final installment. Nana Malone is the Goddess of romantic suspense. Until next time y’all happy reading.

One thing is guaranteed when I read any Nana Malone book. I won't be able to stop and if I try, the pages will keep on calling my name till I get lost in them. East Bound is the addictive combination of supense and steam that I call Brand Nana Malone. Her writing is that unique and obviously, dangerous to my heart. Dangerous like her alpha heroes, her sassy heroines and their intoxicating love story.

London Billionaire and elite hacker East Hale has one mission in his life. To protect his friends and to help them avenge their dead friend. And they are on a complicated war with the most powerful and corrupt secret society. Means he cannot trust anyone. But Interpol agent Nyla Kincade has breached his wall. East and Nyla are tangled in a web of dangerous missions, dark secrets and life threatening dramas. And in middle of all this, their relationship is having a trying time too.

God I just love these kicka$$ bada$$ female leads Nana Malone writes. I sincerely pray she never stops writing them. I have a ridiculous girl crush on Nyla. I mean what's there not to like? Smart. Sexy. Beautiful. Witty. Strong. Lethal. Loyal. Passionate ( in and out of bed). The perfect combination of hard and soft. And at the same time, she has her own insecurities and issues those make her more relatable. I am sure I was drooling over her action moves and clever mental games. And East Hale has it bad for her. Like I have it bad for East. Look there cannot be any man more perfect that East. His confidence and ultra smartness are such aphrodisiac. Other than the fact that he is charming, drop dead gorgeous, annoyingly alpha and has that enticing edge. So you can expect fireworks. Nuclear explosions. Because both are hot headed, stubborn and reckless. East cannot stop being overprotective and uber possessive. His first instinct is to save Nyla from every possible threat whereas she is more than capable herself. It did create very interesting conflicts and even more interesting make up sex. This story has endless adventures and my nails are very angry for the abuse I inflicted on them. The story kept me glued to the pages and I didn't dare to blink in fear of missing anything. The whole entertaining crew of London Lords added to the magnetism of this story!

Nana Malone doesn't know how to do simple stories. And thank god for that. Otherwise we wouldn't be the lucky readers to get addictive reading experience like East Bound.Swoony, steamy and all consuming.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Some say I can be ruthless. Nyla Kincaid is abut to find out. I allowed her to get to close and in the end, she burned me. To keep the secrets of the Elite, I seduced her. The distraction worked, but like a moth to a flame, I singed my wings. She will pay for my mistake. And I will never repeat it. Meting out my revenge will be so sweet. And this time, I will not take care with her heart.

This is the second book in the Hear No Evil Trilogy. You have to read East End first or you are going to be lost. East if feeling betrayed and if that has ever happened to you, you know that it is not a great feeling at all and you want pay back. But Nyla feels the same exact way. They both feel like they have been betrayed by the other. But East wants payback, big time. Nyla though only wants her father to respect her and not look down on her. This lead to her getting her job back with interpol because she had limited sources to finish the job that she was suppose to complete. And in that she is helping the London Lords finish their goal but they are running out of time. I just don't know how to tell you about this book and not give something away. It is a really great book that you will not put down. There are so many twists and turns in this book it will keep you guessing to the very end. Don't however forget a but East....never ever count him out.

I loved every minute of this ride! Can’t wait for the next book!

Fast paced, intense and full of action,
East Bound is the continuation of East and Nyla's story.

With jaw dropping twists, mind blowing suspense and palpable anticipation, this book is a total page turner, that will keep you hooked and engaged from the first to the last page.

Ending with the requisite Nana cliffy, I can't wait to find out how Nyla and Easts convoluted story end, though I'm sure there are many more surprises ahead before the truth is finally revealed.

5 stars and a stolen painting.

This is an amazing written story.
It's sweet and swoony, but also full of action, conspiracy theories, spy missions and secret societies for rich and powerful people.

Nyla works for Interpol and is investigating a secret society called Elite. She and her partner Amelia are on the mission to bring them down.

East and his friends are members of the London Lords, a secret society which is on a mission to find the murder of their friend Toby.

This series is a well written story with a lot of danger, suspense, action, twists and humor.

Nyla and East are a really nice, sweet and hot couple which of course bring a lot of steamy scenes.
She is a badass and smart woman.
He is a sexy, dirty talking, computer specialist and is rich.
That should be enough to love it, right?
Unfortunately, I couldn't connect with the characters 😕 and I don't even know why 🙄
I know I'm in the minority with my opinion here, again 🙄 but it just didn't work for me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh East, I go between wanting to smack you upside the head and then hug you soooo many times. Nyla is just EVERYTHING, and when her and East are together, the pages burn. The secrets, the mysteries...I have all the theories! Every book makes me just want more, and that’s what a book should do. No one does it like Nana Malone...just perfection!

4.5 Heartpounding & Steamy Stars!
Wow, what a breathtaking continuation to East and Nyla's story! Their story picks up at the stunning ending in book one and hits the ground running! As the story continues East feels comletely betrayed and cuts Nyla completely out of his life. Nyla doesn't understand why he won't talk to her and is determined to never be fooled by his charms again. She tries to convince him that she is not his enemy, but believes in his nobal cause. But when a mutual enemy forces them to work together for a common goal, they are helpless to refuse. As they work together to unravel a mystery by the gentleman thief Theroux, there are more players that enter the game and are deadly threats. Their partnership reveals that they still have a fiery chemistry and are unable to deny their feelings. Nyla is a rebel, learning not every goal has to be accomplished in black and white. She has learned to play in the gray areas like East and his friends. But East is a fierce protector of his close friends in the London Lords and that includes Nyla. She is a well trained Interpol agent, and is more than capable of taking care of herself. She wants to be East's partner in all things, and feel appreciated and loved. The more he tries to sideline and smother her the more he pushes her away and maybe lose her for good. As they find their way back to each other there are deadly forces that seem to be a step ahead of them at every turn, and will stop at nothing to kill them all. This story was fast paced and full of action, and comes to a fevered, heart pounding outcome! There were some questions answered in this second book, but so many more secrets that need to be reveled. I can't wait for the conclusion to East and Nyla's exciting and sizzling story!

Anticipation at its finest!

This is the continuing story of East & Nyla. Feeling betrayed is never good. That’s just how East feels. That’s just how Nyla feels. Each feels betrayed by the other. Trusting each other is the hardest thing of all, especially when you’re boyfriend and girlfriend. The London Lords were walking a very fine line. Nyla had to get back her job at Interpol because her sources were limited to finish the one mission that would make her father look up to her, instead of always putting her down. She’s also helping the London Lords trying to finish their goal. She also runs into problems with her best friend who is also an Interpol agent. She also has issues with her team manager, who is also her ex-boyfriend. East and the London Lords, and Nyla, her best friend, form an alliance because their missions align with each other’s. There’s lots of action, lots of suspense and mystery, lots of excitement, and lots of love and steam in this story. This is a great second part to this series. Nana Malone knows how to hold the reader’s attention with her writing. There’s a cliffhanger, too., and what a cliffhanger it is! Now I can’t wait to read the conclusion.

And Nana Malone delivers again. She’s more dependable than your favorite delivery service. This book brings it all, intrigue, heat, smiles, love, crushing moments, sadness, more questions than you started with, and at times seems like it’s the third book but ends up giving us more questions, also did I say heat?
East and Nyla both have their own individual issues to figure out. Now they have their couple issues to figure out along with their friends issues and their work issues. That’s A LOT to figure out but it all works.
They’re chemistry is off the charts but they are also so darn cute and funny. It adds a whole different element to the story. I can’t believe I have to wait for the last installment. It feels like such a long time coming. Patience isn’t my strong suit.
Within this book we get to see some of our favorite characters from the past. If you haven’t read any other books of this author I assure you once you read this series you will definitely want to go back and check out her whole catalogue.
As usual I’m always trying to figure out where the story is going. My track record is pretty bad but every once in awhile I figure at least one thing out. Can’t wait to see if I get anything right this time.

In the meantime I’ll wait as patiently as I can for the next book. The one thing I already figured out is that the next book is going to live up to my expectations and be fantastic.

I waited a lot for this after the cliffhanger in book one and damn it was good!! We keep reading where we left off East End and I was hooked since the beginning, it’s full of action, drama and suspense.

I loved East and Nyla’s steamy scenes, they couldn’t keep their hands of each other and their chemistry was always there, despite them trying to fight their feelings.

I always love the banter between East and his friends, especially their weird jokes. I love how they all have each other’s back and how they complement each other.

A lot of things were going on and everything got really addictive, I need to know how it all ends and I hope they all get safe and sound. I also want to know more about Emma and Bridge and why Drew acted weird most of the time.

I’m dying for the next book and to keep reading about East, Nyla and their friends, especially after that ending.

Talk about a rollercoaster ride. Have you ever looked at a word and didn't make a connection? Well, for me it was TRILOGY. I know what trilogy means. I know that this was book 2. Why I spent the majority of this book on the edge of my seat waiting for the big finish is anybody's guess.

It hit me around the time the gang was bobbing and weaving through Grunwald Square. All the while waiting with bated breath for East and Nyla to work out their issues. The light bulb came on. I realized that I was in for another one of Nana's infamous cliffhangers. She absolutely did not disappoint.

This book was fast paced, full of action, danger suspense, and intrigue. It was sexy, sweet, steamy, and romantic. My emotions were all over the place. Everyone seemed to be in their feelings, or had something mysterious going on that they weren't sharing. East and Nyla, Nyla and Amelia, something strange with Drew, Bridge and Emma. Let's not even talk about the Nyla and Interpol situation.

I can't imagine how things are going to work out in this story. I can't wait for book 3. (See, I told you I really knew trilogy meant "3".)

I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

The Queen of Cliffhangers does it again! Why do I start a trilogy by Nana Malone knowing the story won't conclude with the first or second books?! It's because I love the characters she creates and their stories ALWAYS contain twists, turns, "say what?" moments and hard-fought happily-ever-afters! This second book in East Hale and Nyla Kincaid's story has his feelings about her sling-shotting back and forth on whether he can trust her or whether she's out to gut him, his best mates and the secret Elite. East and his three friends started their plan to avenge their friend, Toby's death, with just the four of them. The team has now grown to include royals from Team Winston Isles and many others, which means the more people who are privy to their plans, the harder it is to contain the secrets. Add in a world renown jewel thief, a spiteful ex and dirty members of the Elite, and the suspense factor ratchets up even further. The dynamic bond East has with Ben, Bridge and Drew demonstrates their strong loyalty and the friendly ribbing they share with one another. Can't wait to see how East and Nyla's story wraps in the final book!

East Bound is the second book in the Hear No Evil Trilogy, and this book gives you just as many twists and turns as the first book. Following East and Nyla's story will definitely keep you on your toes. I look forward to reading the third book in the series. ~Dawn

I have to say that Nana really knows how to grab a person by the short stings and keep them pulled into the story from the very first word to the last. That ending was CRAZY!!!! All I can keep thinking is... Is it time for the next book yet??? I have to know what has happened to Nyla and East and all of the rest of the gang. The London Lords and the Elite and all the rest of them have so much going on and this book just shows that with all the twists and turns that are taken in this book.
East Bound is the second book in this amazing trilogy. You have to read the first book as it sets the scene and tells the story of East Hale and Nyla Kinkade and how they met and what is going on with them, and you will love that book as much as you love this one.

She does it again – fast paced, steamy times, a story that weaves together lots of threads and leaves so many strings hanging. Nana has a way with words that yanks you into the story, seats you on the shoulder of your favorite character, and takes you on a hair raising ride that never ends! This is the second in the series and ends. With. A. Cliffhanger. Again! She’s an evil woman this author, but you are going to become addicted to her writing and grab them all. It’s the kind of story you read once, twice, three times because there is so much happening that you are bound to miss something important! Enjoy!

This is the second book in this intense, edge of your seat trilogy. You must read East End first before reading this book. Wow! East and Nyla's story is seriously giving my mind and heart a workout! In a world with a whole lot of gray areas, stunning twists and cross-purposes, your nerves are going to be stretched to the breaking point. This duo was clever and combustible. The sparks are always flying in every single interaction they share. Suspense, romance, emotion, steam, humor, action, adventure, drama and excitement are woven throughout the skillfully crafted and totally captivating storyline that grabs you and never lets go. A super delish book/series that has me desperately needing book three. All thoughts and opinions in this review are my own and freely posted.

Oh my goodness Nana Malone has done it again! I loved Ben Covington but I have to say East Hale might be the bloke for me. This book was such a ride, it was so much angst and that is my jam. With that cliffhanger from East End I expected Nama to clean this up quick and move on. But no. She had to slow torture us! I loved it so much. The back and forth between East and Nyla was so terrific. And I always adore seeing my favorite characters Ben and Livy show up! This is such a great book that had me laughing out loud and then fanning myself against all the hotness of East and Nyla. I cannot wait for The Fall of East!

I thought this 2nd book in the Hear No Evil trilogy was very good - till I got to the end-then I thought it was flipping fantastic! It is definitely a cliffhanger and I wish Lucas could steal the manuscript for The Fall of East to get it to us earlier than the end of April! Looking forward to the finale of another great trilogy from Nana Malone.

Absolutely LOVED every delicious word from one of my favorite authors! This book was a dizzying thrill ride about love deception and devotion and my only complaint is that it ended so soon! Truly, this author takes us on a journey with East and Nyla, I love that its not JUST about them, there is a mystery and bigger motive behind it all that moves the narrative. I also LOVE that we see some recurrence of our old Winston Isle friends (who doesn't love seeing old friends?) Ms. Malone fleshes out her characters so well you do truly feel like you know these folks so their appearance in the meetings is definitely welcomed and appreciated. Nyla and East continue to set the pages on fire in this one, their chemistry is off the charts! I can't wait for the conclusion, I NEED ANSWERS! Also, side note, Amelia's the bomb!

Malone continues to deliver irresistibly wicked romance. East Bound reintroduces a sinfully suave renegade that colors outside the lines and his sassy, independent nemesis that refuses to fall for his charm. Breaking the rules has never felt so HOT! Once a bad boy steals your heart, there's no hope of getting it back.

What??? I knew it was part of a trilogy, but I wasn’t quite ready for the cliff Nana drove me to. The back and forth between East & Nyla is INSANE! Can I just say how much I LOVE the relationship interjections by Livy, Telly, Benna, Lucas and all the London Lords! I love when Telly sets the two up to reconcile... or attempts to anyway. I still have so many questions... what is up with Bridge and Emma? Could Drew be any more suspicious? When will Lucas & Brenna ever marry? What is going on between Nyla’s Dad and the douchebag Denning? So many questions, I tell you. PLUS, I need resolution with Theroux. Oh and of course, an HEA for Nyla & East. Nana, why do you do this to us? You turn us into greedy, needy, romance junkies desperate for a hit of your latest conCOCKtion. 😂 WE NEED MORE NOW!!!

Nana Malone’s Hear No Evil series is hands down my new favorite series.

East Bound is the second book in East Hale’s trilogy and can NOT be read as a stand-alone. East End must be read prior to this novel.

The wonderful thing that Ms. Malone granted us is that East Bound picks up immediately at the close of East End.

East, feeling he has been betrayed, used, and had his trust broken yet again works swiftly to clear Nyla from his life. Reacting on emotional response alone, East invades Nyla’s privacy in order to the point where she has none while also blocking her from contacting or seeing him.

The rest of the crew are confused, and not completely on board with these maneuvers. Attempting to be a voice of reason, Livy reminds East that normal people talk their problems out. East tries to talk the rest of the crew around to seeing Nyla as he now does, but is unsuccessful.

East’s mission to cut Nyla out is thrown completely when Theroux re-emerges in their lives; demanding that Nyla return to Interpol through any means necessary and then demanding she and East partner together to track down a nemesis of Theroux’s who has vanished for some years.

This book provides quite a bit of movement on the overall plot while also peeling back layers of Nyla and East.

Nyla and Amelia have a falling out which leaves Nyla completely alone. Forced review herself and her life, she is also forced to make up with her father in order to gain her job back. She’s just able to convince Amelia that she isn’t gunning for her job. Denning is acting even more cagey and things are increasingly tense across the board for Nyla.

Amelia finally learns the depth of Bram Van Linsted’s proclivities and depravities. Although, meeting with Bram does provide Nyla with an opportunity to help the London Lords and show that they can trust her.

Ms. Malone writes a fantastic suspense plot where the reader is questioning everyone’s motives outside of the Lords and their circle. She provides us with movement on Theroux’s background while casting members of the Elite into a new spotlight.

Denning is now running a thin line between stalking Nyla and hamstringing her at work. Wether his actions are due to his own loss of control over her or if he is up to bad deeds remains to be seen.

As the book races towards an incredible suspense moment of charades and disguises being exposed ..... we meet with this end of East and Nyla’s story.

I honestly don’t know what I’m looking forward to the most in the final book of this trilogy. If it’s discovering who or what Theroux is after, if it’s determining who at Interpol is working above the line or who is on the take. We get an incredible small peek at Drew’s issues as well as a fight between Bridge, Mina and Emma. I’m adding “Who is the next Lord to be written” to my list of questions I can’t wait to have answers to.

Ms. Malone has an absolutely well written, well plotted, interwoven series that has me firmly in its grip. I’m okay with this.

Amazing second book in the trilogy!!

Wow, Author Nana Malone thrust me straight back into the action where it had ended in book one East End, so I’m telling you now, it is imperative to have read that book first.

There are more plot threads than you can poke a stick at, and how she keeps everything in line is beyond me, because I have to take notes while I’m reading, even if I hit it in one sitting, otherwise I forget what’s going on!!!

It is great to again see more of these rich and influential young Lords of London and the changing dynamics of the group. They are still the same privileged, cocky and loyal friends, but the group is growing and changing, and one character in particular who I thought was weak in the last series, definitely seems to be weakening further. Then again, this could be one of Ms Malone’s red herrings... With these close friendships though, there were some hilarious moments where the friends inconveniently put themselves into East’s business to give him advice and help him out whether he needed it or not. That is what friends do, and I am really enjoying this second trilogy where we are getting to see more of these guys.

The best thing though?? Agent Nyla Kincaid is one of Ms Malone’s very capable and very well-trained female characters. Like so many of her other heroines that I absolutely admire, Nyla is a protector, and East more often than not ends up insultingly patronising her or butting heads with her on a mission. This was just awesome. Kudos, Ms Malone on your consistently independent capable and strong heroines. I love them.

Annnnd, with the maximum impact obtained by the seasoned and successful author that she is, Nana Malone ended this book with me shouting at my tablet ... “whaaaaaaaat???”

Do not, I repeat, DO NOT let your fear or abject hate of cliff-hangers deter you from reading Ms Malone’s books. She is only one of two or three authors that I will EVER consider cliffies for, she is that gifted a writer. 5 stars for the second book of this Hear No Evil trilogy 💙
