Hard-rocking Electric from ESP

The E-II Viper from ESP represents the premium edition of their popular asymmetrical double-cut Viper electric guitar. Designed and hand-crafted by master luthiers in Japan, the E-II features a set-through mahogany neck on a beautifully resonant mahogany body for a warm sound and plenty of sustain. A pair of EMG 57/66 humbuckers deliver classic hot, humbucking tone and push-pull controls let you coil-split for vintage single-coil sounds when you're in the mood. A smooth ebony fingerboard with extra jumbo frets are instantly playable and responsive — great for fast leads and big power chords. Rounding out the features is a Gotoh Tune-o-matic bridge, a favorite among guitarists here at Sweetwater for its stellar sustain.

Classic humbucking pairing

The EMG 57 and 66 at the bridge and neck respectively are sought after by a wide range of players from metal to rock. Both come loaded with Alnico V magnets, but the 57 features steel pole pieces for that signature PAF-style tone, while the 66 comes with ceramic pole pieces for a warm, smooth midrange and wide-open lows. With a 3-way pickup selector and push/pull pots for coil splitting, you get an expansive array of tone-shaping options as you explore your own unique style.

Impeccable neck designed to play

The thin "U" profile mahogany neck on the E-II Viper is incredibly smooth with a responsive ebony fingerboard, making it ideal for fast leads as well as varied chord forms up and down the neck. In addition, the 24 extra jumbo frets on the E-II support easier bends and overall comfort for hours of play. Cool banner inlays on the ebony fingerboard are stage-ready and eye-catching as well.

ESP E-II Viper Solidbody Electric Features:

  • All-mahogany solidbody electric with cool offset body shape
  • Designed and hand-crafted by master luthiers in Japan
  • Pair of EMG humbuckers deliver classic hot, humbucking tone with coil splitting
  • Smooth ebony fingerboard with extra jumbo frets provide a comfortable playing experience
  • Gotoh Tune-omatic bridge and tailpiece provide stellar sustain
  • Gotoh locking tuners look classic and provide stable tuning

E-II Viper is badass

First thanks to Ryan Clapped, and Sweetwater for hooking me up with this fine axe.
I've had this guitar for a few months, and it has become my go too. I wanted a 24 fret with easy access, and this is it. The parts and pickups are top notch, the craftsmanship is second to none. I am not a fan of active pickups, because I always forget to unplug my guitar. So that can get annoying when the battery goes dead, but these pickups sound great. If your looking for a 24 fret SG style guitar, definitely try one of these out.
Music background: Lifelong guitar player, amateur recording engineer.

Had the rest now own the best !,,,

I have had many guitar in my life ,and found my self being a SG guy , had all Gibson sg's they make specials, standards ,supremes ,61 reissues and custom shop SG's all have been passive pickups ,and never been a fan of active pickups ( sounded to nasally ) . Boy was I wrong I just got this esp eii viper with 57/66 emg pickups this is by far the best guitar I have owned . First off the the fit and finish is second to none , neck frets setup perfection, now we get to the sound , thought I was playing a passive pickup it sounded so good I just couldn't believe it , then the volume and tone control make a Hugh difference in sound and over all tone , you could play jazz to metal and everything in between. Then you can split the neck and bridge coils with both the tone and volume knobs for unbelievable tones . The sounds and quality of this built make this guitar THE BEST SG I HAVE EVER PLAYED PERIOD. Thanks again to my sales guy CRAIG MILLS for having me take a chance on this guitar soooooo glad I did...
