This is a great way to get kids of any age interested in science and plant. It comes with everything you need, the instructions are very short and simple. Ours didn't take to well but is still somewhat growing. The kids did everything themselves, so im sure they did their own project.

Very cute

I have two sons ages 5 and 7. We all sat down together and went through each step and built this terrarium with all the included contents. My boys had no problem following the directions with ease and doing this with a little help from myself. All contents were packaged good and we had a lot of fun making it. It started to grow within 3 days and every single morning they checked it and checked it again that night. My boys tended to it like it was an animal, making sure it had proper watering what's a day and enough sunlight in the window. The LED light on the lid is a nice touch! Within a week the plants had grown so much some were peeking out the little star holes on the lid. I especially loved that it's rechargeable and comes with its own cord! That in itself is a rarity. Batteries are so wasteful and expensive. This was not only a fun learning activity with my kids..but it also sparked interest. We are currently building another terrarium with a jar. Highly recommend as either a gift for kids or just something fun to do together. My only warning is if you have a cat, try to place in an area they cant get to. My cat started chewing the tops that stuck out of the holes.

Sooo much fun!

My kids had lots of fun with this Terrarium Kit. If they're on the young side, they may need a little help, but I think they will really enjoy it. It doesn't take long to start seeing some results. We had some plants germinating in about a week. It's a great science lesson for children.

Loved It!

This terrarium is great for kids to learn about how ecosystem work and learns about science. This is also a fun way for kids to be creative and design their own growing area. We put sand, rocks, and sand in different layers. After we sprayed the soil to make it moist. Next we placed little figures close to the outside so they can be seen once growth starts. We placed two different kinds of seeds in the soil and pushed them down just abit. Once we completed the inside we could add stickers to the outside for extra decorations. Once that was done we placed it in the window seal to be in the sun durring the day. At night you can plug the terrarium in and turn on the light to see it. This has been an exciting and fun activity for my kids to do and watch it change daily. After 4 days we started to see growth and it continues to grow daily.
