A Beginner’s Guide to the Care and Feeding of Demons: A Demonic Disasters and Afterlife Adventures Novella Kindle Edition
When Jon's safety is threatened, Beel can't help making an appearance in his human form. Now Jon's eyeing him with suspicion (turns out his cover story wasn't that great), Gabe and Az are up to their matchmaking antics, and Beel really just wants another kiss with the adorable pet shop owner. (Oh, did we forget to mention they shared a kiss? Spoiler alert: it was magical.)
If Beel’s meddling family can stop interfering, Jon can stop being so suspicious, and Beel can stop being so scared of outing his true identity, these two might just get their own happily ever after. (Hopefully with more kisses, because Beel really does like the kissing.)
Tags: Beel despises romantic comedies, but maybe he's about to star in one; Jon's got a troublesome ex and could use a knight in shining armor – Beel's more than happy to oblige; Az keeps weaving fairy tale and frog references into their lives, much to everyone's chagrin; Beel's cover stories are laughably bad; coming out as your true self is tougher than Beel imagined, but sometimes it’s worth it.

About the author
Shannon Mae began her journey in the M/M romance world as an avid reader, then a beta reader, and eventually an editor. When a dear friend suggested she should write her own book, she decided to do just that. She gravitates to writing paranormal romance, since that genre is her first love, and her books tend to be low-angst and filled with happily-ever-afters. She is an unfailing optimist with a side of snark and sarcasm. Life is a place full of mysteries and wonders, and she hopes to capture that joy and fun in her writing. Happy reading!

- Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2024This short is so much dang fun, and wow, these two are so adorably akward I loved every single page of it. Beel has been Gabes' pet now for 20 plus years, and he's perfectly good with that. Thank you very much. But Gabe & AZ want their friend to find someone to make him happy, so they leave him to be pet set by Jonothan, who is the sweetest human ever. When Beek steps into comfort Jonathan's ex , Beel has to come to terms. Maybe being a pet full time isn't always the best.
These two are so sweet and so much fun and are just right for the other to make them truly shine and be their best selves. What a great filler side story of an already fun series.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2024I was so excited when I learned we would get a story centered around Beel! I’ve adorned Beel ever since we met him as Gabe’s pet frog. This story certainly didn’t disappoint. The humor was terrific, and I especially loved the scenes where Beel communicated through ribbits, which only Az could understand. Beel and Jon are also adorable together, and I enjoyed seeing Beel become more confident and comfortable in his skin! 🐸😈
With each new story in this universe, I fall more and more in love with the world! I can’t wait to see more of Beel and Jon in future stories!
- Reviewed in the United States on January 13, 2024Beel is one of my favorite characters in this series and I was really looking forward to reading his story! While Beel's human form is not how I envisioned him, he is exactly what the other MC, Jon, needed - a contemporary with a bit of a bad-boy vibe. The story was cute and satisfying.
- Reviewed in the United States on November 27, 2024Loved this story so much! It was so original and the characters were just chef’s kiss. Beel was just the cutest! Gonna go devour ALL of Shannon Mae’s books now!
- Reviewed in the United States on October 28, 2024Sometimes you have to kiss a frog to get your man. Or at least pet sit a frog. This is an adorable story of how Mr. Frog, aka Beel, gets his soulmate.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2024Mr. Frog has his day! What an adorable awkward demon wrapped up in a frog form. 🐸 When Beel finally becomes human in front of Jon, sparks fly in the most romantic and sweet way. We still have the hotness factor. But this was an incredibly sweet story
- Reviewed in the United States on January 16, 2024Beel is a demon, who has spent 20 years living as a pet frog after being summoned. His owner, Gabe, who found out he was really a demon after Gabe started dating another demon named Az, is worried Beel might be lonely. He wants to get Beel a companion, but Az instead convinces Gabe to let the pet shop owner, Jon, pet-sit Beel for them while they go in vacation.
Beel is very attracted to Jonand wants to figure out how to date him. His opportunity arises when Jon’s ex shows up and Beel secretly transforms and scares the ex away. Afterward, he kisses Jon, who seems to be equally attracted to him. When Beel returns in human form the next day, the two quickly start dating. Beel then tries to figure out how he can balance being Gabe’s frog and date Jon.
‘A Beginner’s Guide to the Care and Feeding of Demons’ is a novella that tells the story of a demon who has been living as a frog and a pet store owner. The novella is a heartwarming and humorous tale of two unlikely lovers who overcome their differences and find true happiness together. Although the book is short, we still get some sexy scenes between Beel and Jon. Based on plot and steaminess, I rate this book four stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing
I absolutely adore this series and this latest instalment is just fantastic.
I loved Beel when he was Gabe’s pet frog but seeing him find his soulmate in this book gave me a whole new appreciation for him and he is quickly becoming a firm favourite. I love how protective he is of Jon and how well they work together. It was great seeing more of Gabe and Az as well.
This series just goes from strength to strength and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved the single POV
Shannon Mae always comes through for me when I’m in a slump or read something too heavy. This was laugh out loud funny and I freaking love beel. He makes me want to get a hot rock to nap on. He has so much personality.
