Excellent case, with an unnecessary add-in

I found that removing the fingerprint sensor (that they tell you not to) was just as good. I couldn't get the bubbles out when putting the front of the case on. If you look at the settings on the Pixel 8 (including my 8a), you can adjust the fingerprint on the screen to read better when using a screen protector...so it makes using the fingerprint sensor obsolete, IMO.

Using in the meantime until my waterproof one comes because I'm a dog groomer and unfortunately, there are openings on the backing by the camera where dust and hair are going to have fun in. I love how well-made and durable. Haven't dropped it yet, but have tempered glass on the front and the cameras because I'm very clumsy.

I have been using Poetic phone and tablet cases for many years, and I have found them to be the best in terms of both protection and style. I particularly appreciate the fact that these cases come with built-in screen protectors, as I am not very skilled at applying traditional screen protectors and they often end up crooked or with bubbles. This particular case has a clear backing, which allows the beauty of the Pixel 8a to shine through. Additionally, I am pleased that it includes a dust plug cover for the charging port, which will help to protect the phone from water splashes, rain, sand, and dust. It's a breeze to remove and clean as needed, too.

This is quite a sturdy 2-piece style case. Pretty easy to put on. This case is a little thicker than many and that's just the price of extra protection for a $500 phone. The holes and buttons were all in the right places, and didn't interfere with operation. The back is clear polycarbonate and shows off the color of the phone. I believe the rim is made of TPU because it has some degree of give/shock absorption, and has good grip. When using the screen protection, I wasn't able to make the fingerprint reader recognize my already enrolled finger, so I deleted it and re-enrolled it and it worked OK. I don't normally use a screen protector, as they make the screen less responsive to touch, and this screen protector was no different, so I changed out the inner frame with the protector for the one without it.

This poetic guardian case is great!! I got this for my dad, who doesn’t enjoy Apple products. He’s very old so sometimes he can drop things and breaks things very easily. I love how this comes with a built in phone case, which is ideal for protecting the whole phone. Not only is it perfect for him, but he personally told me he loves it and thanked me for it. He did drop it a few times and there isn’t a scratch or dent in it. Overall I love this and would definitely recommend getting this!
