There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
My slight complaint is the protect from freezing. It's understandable since you could potentially have water in the filter I imagine and damage the membranes. I recently took a trip and it dropped slightly below freezing, forgot to bring it in my hammock with me. It passes the blow test, so I think I'm okay, guess I should try some water sources at home before my next backpacking trip.
Water has a very minimal change in taste, but so far all of my sources haven't been that terrible. Streams which are running pretty well. Back as a kid, if there was enough whitewater, they used to tell us it was safe to drink. Oh those days have changed.
One of the other guys in my most recent trip was using a lever filter. He was in the market for a new system. I recommended this product over a lever system because it's one less thing to break. Granted you could theoretically rip your bag (I probably just jinxed myself). Now I want to go check if I leave the water bottle attachment in the little bag, if I could use a nalgene bottle in reverse as my dirty source in an emergency situation if the bag was punctured.

Cleaning is a breeze, and its easy to backwash the filter when you get home.
This filter is perfect: light, easy, flexible, affordable, with the confidence of safe water available on the go to lighten your pack.
