Publisher's summary

Weston was at an impasse in his life, after hearing about his unknown daughter, who’d already been adopted by another family. Only the father had since passed away...so...accepting the mission to track down the missing, blind-in-one-eye, limping war dog named Shambhala - in Alaska - was exactly where he needed to be to sort out this other issue in his life. Finding the dog turned out to be easier than Weston had expected, but sorting out how and why this dog’s owners had been murdered was something else again.

Now a widow, Daniela knew her daughter also needed a father, so she’d contacted Weston, not sure if he even knew of the baby’s existence. When he said he was on the way, she was concerned at what she’d started and that emotion then turned to terror when Sari’s birth mother showed up at Daniela’s doorstep, looking for her daughter again.

Things turn ugly when Weston’s war dog investigation impacts his daughter’s life and her new mother. He must do something, or everything he’s finally found will be lost.

Weston, Shambhala, Daniela and Sari - a precious f

Weston gets the surprise of his life when a one night stand ends with a daughter he knew nothing about until the adoption was already finalized. Weston plans to make a trip to Alaska at the request of his daughters adoptive mother Daniela and while in Alaska he has an assignment to locate the War Dog Shambhala who is missing. Shambhala's owner is dead and there has been no sighting of Shambala. Weston is staying with Daniela and Sari so when he locates Shambala it's love at first sight between Shambala and Sari. There are issues Weston never expected to run into, he visits Shambala's old home to collect any of her bedding and toys only to discover a man there who looks a lot like the husband of Shambala's owner, who should be dead. His one night stand came back to town and is causing problems. The adoption attorney is dead as well, then the threatening phone calls start coming to Daniela. How can Weston keep them all safe when they are being hit from all sides with threats? I loved this book. If you like hot protective heroes and amazing dogs this is the book for you.
