Publisher's summary

Book six of The K9 Files.

Heading back to Iraq was never in Parker’s plans, but when his brother is killed in action, he makes the journey to bring his brother back home to his final resting place.

When one of the K9 war dogs disappears at the military airport in transit and all attempts to locate him fails, Parker agrees to investigate during the few days he’s there.

Sandy is making the same journey as Parker - both of their brothers were killed in the same incident. Both brothers had been the best of friends, but this is the first time she’s met Parker. From that initial moment, she realizes something odd is happening in his world.

When they find a K9 dog in a rebel stronghold, she’s sucked into a much more dangerous trip than one of compassion and grief. There’s a reason why the first investigation didn’t turn up anything. As Parker rattles cages and shakes up a ring of thieves, the bodies start dropping, one by one.

Always exciting!

Parker is the 6th in this series that I have read. They are enjoyable, action filled and centered around believable characters overcoming issues of their own, with the addition of special dogs. In this book the dog played a part through most of the book. It’s a series of interesting stories of people concerned with special dogs and their stories of adjustment, acceptance and love. I’m happily continuing to listen to the series. Narrators make a lot of difference and I’ve enjoyed the ones in 1-6 for the most part.

Parker and Sandy

Parker is the sixth book in The K9 Files series by Dale Mayer.
Parker is headed back to Iraq to bring his brother's body back home. Parker meets Sandy on base, she is their to bring her brothers body home as well. When Parker goes for a ride to look for the missing K9 War Dog he decides to ask Sandy if she wants to go with him to get away from base for a little while. Little did they know that drive would lead to gun fire and running for their lives while rescuing the missing war dog in the process. Things go from bad to worse, they are being chased at every turn, they don't know who they can trust and who they can't. I loved this book, it had me from page one and continued until the very last page. This is a must read!
