You know how in college there’s that one guy everyone wants to be?

That’s me.

I’m the top dog.
The number one.
The big man on campus.

Some say those things are solid wins.
My new tutor would disagree.

My title means nothing to her.
My status lost on her.

And now my mind? That sucker is stuck on her.

She was told to make our sessions priority over all, to drop everything when I need her, and come to me. She does.

But I don’t want to steal her time anymore.
I want to earn it.

If anyone can do that, it’s me.

I’m Tobias Cruz, the king of the curveball. I don’t lose.
Not the game, and surely not the girl.

Little did I know, this girl has a secret...and it’s the dirtiest curve yet.

THE GOOD

Tobias Cruz (H) ⚾

Honestly, I didn't like this guy at all at the beginning of the book. He was the typical manwhore arrogant, conceited athlete who has women falling at his feet, just because he's the best baseball college player in a long time. Tobias had such himbo vibes going on for him, but not even that attractive, because he would say shit like this
It's like my eyes pull at something in her, probably her pussy strings. I dig it.

but then Meyer started to tutor Tobias more and more and he made such a great character development. It was in all the little details how Tobias would do all these things for Meyer. Scheduling Zoom calls instead of face-to-face meetings to give her more time with her baby, secretly walking her home in the dark to protect her, bringing her dinner, cause he knows she doesn't have anything in her fridge and no time to cook, being proud af when he was able to show Meyer off as his, waking up in the middle of the night to put the baby back to sleep (when he and Meyer weren't even together yet), buying a little baseball for the baby to play with 🥺 Tobias was doing everything he can to make Meyer's life easier with a newborn. He was super patient with her and didn't make a move, rather he was waiting for Meyer to be comfortable enough to make the first move.

Wouldn't call this guy boyfriend material for the first 30% ngl, but once he's dedicated to something, my man is 100% invested heart and soul. And I respect that. 💅

⏱️ Page turner ⏱️

There wasn't anything interesting about the plot that kept me engaged. The plot was pretty much non-existent, because all that happens is Tobias failing his classes and Meyer giving him lessons that his grades are good enough to keep playing baseball on the team. So really nothing new or game changing, but I was invested enough that I only looked up the progress of the book 2 or 3 times lmao 🤣 By now, my standards for books are so low that I don't care if something is problematic/toxic/most horrible characters etc as long as I'm not bored. Therefore, big plus for that.

👼🏼 Baby Bailey 👼🏼

Bailey was such a cute baby 😭 She's the reason why Meyer's character was still somehow tolerable, because she was a great mom and would do anything for Bailey. Otherwise Meyer would be such a dull character.

All the scene of Tobias, Meyer or any of the other side characters playing with Bailey had my heart 🥰🥰🥰 she doesn't even say a single word and has my whole heart in her hands 😌

THE BAD

👩‍🍼 Meyer I-already-forgot-her-last-name (h) 👩‍🍼

There is nothing particular that I find annoying about Meyer, but she reminds me of that "I love her lack of energy. Go girl, give us nothing!"-meme, because that's exactly the vibe she was giving off.

All I know about her is 1. she has a baby girl she would do anything for 2. she's very smart & hardworking to be top student tutor of that college 3. she likes Pizza 4. she has a brother 5. she is quiet and made some questionable choices in her past and that's it. There is a bit more, but those five points pretty much sum up her whole personality. I read a whole book about Meyer as one of the main characters and I still don't know what makes her tick.

Her personality was extremely passive. Especially the romance aspect of this book was so passive. She did nothing. Tobias did all the persuading and work. Tobias texted. Do you think she replied? No. Tobias called. Do you think she answered? Nope. Tobias talked to her (at the beginning). Do you think she replied? Nahahaha. Tobias asked her to be at one of his games. Do you think she went? NOPEEE. It would have been funny if she did all of that because she was so unbothered by Tobias, but it wasn't even that. She was just passive for the sake of being passive.

I get why Tobias fell in the with Meyer's daughter. Babies are cute, but I was wondering what Tobias finds that great about Meyer, cause girl 👏🏽 did 👏🏽 the 👏🏽 bare 👏🏽 minimum. Dirty Curve was mainly told through Tobias' POV, understandably this book is more Tobias' story than Meyer's, but still... she could have been more of an active participant 🥴 Meagan gave Tobias all the personality and left Meyer with this lacklustre piece of, dare-I-say, personality.

🚩 Drama and some of the plot twists 🚩

– the following paragraph contains pretty big spoilers, because I'm going to rant about one of the plot twist that annoyed the fuck out of me. Skip right to the conclusion if you don't want to know –

Meyer and Tobias have a history. When Meyer was pregnant, she went to a party to forget about her shitty life for a while and hooked up with Tobias. They had an one-night stand and had even some deep talk about life and shit, but he doesn't remember anything the next morning, cuz he was drunk af. I wasn't even aware that that's a trope I don't like until I've read Dirty Curve. I cannot get over the fact that Tobias and Meyer slept together, he liked her enough to get her number, but then forgot all about her and went on to live his manho lifestyle, before he meet Meyer again through tutor lessons. I- WHAT THE FUCK?! I love Tobias, he really was like the highlight of the book and with that one revelation I was pissed at him again. What kind of love story is this, that the H sleeps w the h and then forgets about her?! How romantic 🥰 That probably happens at college all the time, but hell no, for the most part I don't read romance books for the realism ❌🤡 Maybe it would been even worse if they had the ONS and Tobias had remember everything and continue being a playboy, but that whole incident irks me 😤

CONCLUSION

After rating Meagan Brandy's latest books 1 or 2 stars, Dirty Curve was a lot better than I expected. Tobias is one of the better Heroes she has written if you can get past his douchy behavior at the beginning. It wasn't great, but would still recommend this book if you're looking for a sport romance, slowburn and single parent book.

this was... pretty bad. so little of this made sense or was realistic in any sense. and tbh i can usually overlook that if the romance is good but the tension/angst was nonexistent and i didn't understand the underlying attraction here.

i mean it's a sports romance so if you're really hard up and have read every sports romance published other than this one maybe give it a go, otherwise skip

the way I was so excited to pick this up because ‘say you swear’ is one of my all time favorite books. i— anyway. this was bad in every sense of the word.

Tobias was insufferable, and he really thought he was a gift to women. sir.. you’re a college baseball player, humble yourself. picture every frat guy combined & that’s him. Myer on the other hand had the personality of a chair! don’t even get me started on the plot and the turns it took.

“it’s like my eyes pull at something in her, probably her pu$$y strings.” i’m sorry… her what? her fucking WHAT? immediately no.

the 1 star is for the Noah Riley appearances. <3

im hijacking the title Himbo King from Phuong bcos this bitch, Tobias, is the ruler of all himbos. along with Emmett Cullen and Luke from Julie and the Phantoms.

right, i think im gonna rate this in two parts lol. bcos the first 50% was not a vibe for me, while the second half was so fun.

first half = 2 stars ⭐️
second half = 4 stars⭐️

first half of the book:

wow this book should just be named “fragile masculinity” instead. my thoughts in the first half were just a rambling slew of insults aimed at Tobias. so enjoy😊

thoughts while reading this:

🏏 wow he’s a smarmy little fucking prick isn’t he?? im waiting with bated breath for a phenomenal character arc, bcos so far this bitch can choke

🏏 i would kick this bitch in the balls for free. repeatedly.

🏏 someone castrate this bitch ASAP. a walking, talking STD who should refrain from the talking. effective immediately.

🏏 the audacity of this man... i suppose lack of brain cells does that to a person.

🏏 take a shot every time Tobias harasses Meyer, grabs her without consent and continues to hold onto her despite being explicitly told to let go?? but thinks bcos she has goosebumps it gives him the green light to not leave her alone and continue touching her? after she told him again to back up and let go??

🏏 shaming women for wearing makeup, huh?? wow nice🤧 (this wasn’t Tobias but still included bcos whyyyyy???)

🏏putting your BARE FEET on the vinyl booth at a public restaurant? i– 💀 i guess now we know where covid originated from.

🏏 least he has the common sense to keep his dick in his pants. the bar is literally in hell.

🏏 this man really does the bare minimum and she acts like he just reversed the climate crisis... like it took this man several weeks of her tutoring him to learn her FIRST NAME. then another few weeks to learn her last name. think that says it all.

🏏 he gets an extra point for making sure she gets home safely every night when she walks home from work.

second half of the book:

i have to preface that im gullible af when it comes to babies in romances so, naturally, i really enjoyed the second half when baby Bailey was about🥰

so once this hit about the 50% mark, after Tobias learnt about Meyer’s daughter, Bailey, i enjoyed this a lot more. im stealing the title, Himbo King, that Phuong dubbed Tobias bcos that bitch truly became the biggest simp. like him calling Bailey “little one” was 🥺🥺

he was just everything id wished he’d been in the beginning— bcos man was he douchey but not in an endearing way. yet his character growth is something to be commended honestly. most of the time, heroes don’t mature or grow all that much in romances: they were either pretty mature to begin with or they’re still annoyingly childish by the end. so i enjoyed the balance of Tobias’ matureness but still playful and fun, without losing that boyish charm of his.

i also enjoyed the playfulness between them too—

”Will you answer the door when I get back?”
“I’ll consider it,” she teases, a flash of delight in her eyes.
“Nah.” I step closer, and her slender neck stretches, allowing her to keep those eyes on mine. “You’ll do it, wanna know why?”
“Why?”
“Cause I’m gonna ring the doorbell over and over until you do.”
“Good luck with that,” she plays in a whisper. “Because it doesn’t work.”

no clue what drew these two together romantically but it was cute enough. ive said before i enjoy single mother romances and watching a hero really grow into a parental role, shows how dedicated and respectful he is to the heroine. so them bonding over Bailey was enough development for me😭

”I wanna look up from my place on the mound and see you sitting there, watching me ... rooting for me.” His focus falls to my lips and his tongue comes out to lick his own. His blue eyes flick up to mine. “Come to my game, Tutor Girl.”

although the second half didn’t come without its faults...

the scene where Tobias punches Meyer’s brother and proceeds to spit in his face bcos he thinks they’re a couple without even talking to Meyer about it... and in front of the baby for god sake was tactless af and could have been completely left out.

especially since Tobias immediately finds out he’s Meyer’s brother, they make out like right there and then as if her brother isn’t sparked out on his arse with his own blood mixed with Tobias’ spit all over his face :/ wasn’t a vibe... especially after i vouched for Tobias’ maturity just now🥴

while the final plot twist was also completely bizarre😭 it was just a lot. that is a whole other ballpark, but i suppose it provided the plot twist all romance books seem to require.

so all in all, it was an easy, quick read that filled my evening and was honestly fun. it kept me thoroughly engaged and i read it in one sitting. it doesn’t take too many brain cells to consume but still gives you some spice, fluff and angst. the epilogue was so damn sweet, made my heart melt.

although, i don’t accept Tobias calling Meyer Tutor Girl though. that right is solely reserved for Haley James by my bitch Nathan Scott... and Brooke Davis.

'DIRTY CURVE' Is a full length sports romance book by Meagan Brandy. Spoken in 'dual perspectives.'

A slow-burn which captured and kidnapped all the mushy feels leaving me craving more.

Tobias Cruz the #PlayBoyPitcher is on top of his game a hotshot number one pitcher in the country at Avix University a man who lives and breathes baseball and is on his way to the very top, there's only one thing standing in his way and that's his grades, they are slipping down a slippery slope which could cost him everything he's ever worked and dreamed for.

Which is where #TutorGirl aka Meyer comes into the story, she's been assigned by his coach who Tobias looks up to, to bring his grades up to where they need to be. She's the hot shot most sought after tutor on campus she's only exclusive to the sports teams, she's good at what she does, and cares deeply for the ones she loves, but this was one job she didn't want to take on and she fights tooth and nail to get out of it. But she didn't factor in Tobias getting under her skin.

There's more to Meyer than meets the eye and I loved uncovering everything there was to know about her she had such an impact on this story which made me love it even more.

“Let me be someone that matters to you, ‘cause you matter to me.”

Oh my stars … DIRTY CURVE is ALL THE WOW! The ultimate baseball romance brimming with heart, heat, and a hero who will bring you to your knees. Meagan Brandy seduces with passionate prose—crafting complex and caring characters in the deliciously decadent Dirty Curve, a love story to savor. I fell fast in love with this baseball romance full of feels. The more I read, the harder I fell. Hands down, DIRTY CURVE is the best baseball romance I’ve had the pleasure of reading.

Set in the college world, Dirty Curve is an opposite attracts meets sports romance romance starring two broken souls who become whole together. I could not help but swoon for the bold baseball hero who is so much more than the hot playboy perception. The tutor heroine is both beauty and brains, shining inside and out. Tobias and Meyer embark on a heartfelt journey with a hard fought romance that touches everywhere. I fell head-over-heels in love with the hero and heroine, and their spellbinding story, one I’m still feeling day later.

A heart-melting and passionately poignant romance, Dirty Curve is a balm for the soul for anyone who has battled stereotypes and self-worth. So beautifully broken and brilliantly told. It’s all the feels … all the things … EVERYTHING! OMG … Dirty Curve tattooed itself to my heart. I was SLAYED … so swept away by this love story that I felt so much! A butterfly-fluttering, soul-slaying, heart-hitting home run!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ all the heart-hitting home ru s

This book is basically atrocious.

And I read the whole thing. Why it atrocious? First the nickname tutor girl did not do it for me. But neither did the politics of sports tutoring. As someone tutored athletes at a prestigious sports & academic school, I felt awful for the pressure Meyer got to have her clients succeed. Imagine having it pinned to you the reason a star athlete and this program can play and or succeed. Frankly, it's not really unusual at all either.

But then there was this whole controlling and abusive coach dynamic. And weirdly, Tobias is stalker trash to the point that he watches Meyer at a baseball game and then without listening to her, punches her brother bc of Meyer & her daughter's interaction has him thinking someone's trying to pick up "his girls". I hope this isn't a spoiler, bc Lord knows I knew who it was. So I had this weird relationship where the hero was hella scary as a human, but also managed to be aspirational in other aspects of his personality.

What was good? He tried. Meyer is the mother of an infant, and rather than freaking out when he learns this, he invests and does these things that could help her. He didn't bat an eye. He just loved them both, carried the car seat, offered to have a zoom meeting or go to her place for tutoring so she wouldn't have to get a sitter and could be with her daughter. I felt like he had this how to help thing down all the while not making Meyer feel the least bit self-conscious about her attractiveness as a mother. And note:

And that part being so well done while Meyer's insecurities were there but not overwhelming were why I kept reading. Because it was fascinating. He acted like an controlling jackass and I couldn't stand his internal monologue *except* when it came to supporting Meyer as a mother and in a sense them as a unit.

Without some of the awful aspects (including the vomit-y nicknames and possessiveness), this could have been such a solid read bc I don't think I've ever read a hero take his attraction to a woman who is a mother quite in such stride (maybe Wrong to Need You but that read less integrated in terms of parenthood than this?)

So it's a bit of a bummer it didn't soften some of the aspects of him that were toxic through and though and that the whole coach dynamic read a bit like a horror book.

This is the tale about Tobias and his only brain cell who is a single mom who works 2 jobs; sex and baseball. There’s nothing more going for him.

“It’s like my eyes pull at something in her, probably her pussy strings. I dig it.”

“She’s fire, I know it, and call me a fuckin’ pyro ‘cause, goddamn if I don’t crave the flame.”

“I love tits. Big ones, small ones, real ones, fake ones, call me Dr. Fuckin’ Suess, and right now, the doctor wants to play, are they or aren’t they?”

Who wouldn’t be enamored with that level of poetry? 😍

Thankfully, when he met Meyer, his tutor, his brain cell recruited help and a new side of him appeared. He became loving, caring and thoughtful.
His adorableness reached a peak when he was with baby Bailey, too cute.

“I don’t care what anyone else thinks, not anymore. Not if you see me the way I heard it.”

The plot was very basic, mainly centered about the H barely getting any crumbs about Meyer’s life; the plot-twists were meh and problematic, and the characters were bland.
It was an okay book, perfect to pass the time.
I didn’t even skim any page, which lately, is rare for me, hence the “high” rating.

Don’t let the cover and the title fool you! This is a slow burn romance with all the feels!
This was different from your typical romance in the sense that while we get POV scenes from both the hero and the heroine, we get to spend a lot more time in the hero’s head. Tobias starts off as the annoying, self-obsessed, and arrogant jock, but he evolves quite beautifully over the course of the novel.
Meyer is a nerdy heroine that works all the time in order to support her newborn daughter.
I don’t want to spoil anything, but there are a few fantastic twists in the book! The banter between the two love interests is top notch. I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a quality opposites attract story.

Dirty Curve is one of those books I thought had a super predictable twist, but it turned out I was completely wrong. I like being caught off guard while reading, and it did just that. It started off a little rocky, as I found the hero, Tobias, rather unlikable. But by the end, I adored him. This is one that has been on my tbr for a while and I'm glad I made the time for it.

Tobias is swooned over so much, I just had to give this a try, even tho the single mom trope isn't my favorite. I do love college sport romances with the nerd/jock theme. I've also had luck with this author in the past. So, it was worth a try.

What I noticed immediately is how similar the premise is to another book I adore. Similar set up. Similar gossipy chapter headings. Same “Tutor Girl” nickname. Even some scenes seemed a little reminiscent.... and I'm not sure the comparison helped this one out with me much. 👀😬😅 Because Tobias was a less charming, less swoony version of the hero in the other book. At least in the first 50-ish% Tobias is a colossal douche-canoe. I guess he was supposed to be fun, but I thought he was just a self-centered creeptastic ego-maniac. About half way through, he receives a .05 second lobotomy and he is a completely different guy. Perfect in every way. Sorta. And I guess if you’re fine with a for-no-logical-explanation-brain-transplant midway, you'll be ok with that. For me, I was just confused. 🧐

We keep being told over and over by Tobias that the "reports" about him aren't accurate... and yet we spend quite a bit of time in Tobias' head, and the reports absolutely seem to be very true. They say he's a self-centered asshole, and he is absolutely that. They say he is a party animal and sleeps around. Also true. Tobias never actually tells us what isn't true. I kept waiting for the big reveal to show us what it was that wasn't true... IS HE ACTUALLY A SECRET VIRGIN WHO SPENDS HIS FREE TIME HELPING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS??? but no. No big revelations are ever served up, so I have no idea where the author was going with that. Does he change and BECOME someone different than the media reports? Yes. Were they wrong about him, based on his previous (before he falls in love) behavior? No evidence was ever given to the contrary, that I could see... soooooo.....

It sounds like I don't like Tobias. And I can't really say that. He's probably the best part of the book. The h certainly isn't a character to get excited about. She's just a boring bump on a log. I mean, she's an exhausted single mom who is an ace tutor... but I couldn't figure out what our lively party-animal Hero liked about her. Other than the fact that she didn't fawn all over him. He was VERY DISTURBED about that 👀🙄.... but I'm not sure that's enough to make him fall in love. It's debatable that he even knows her name for half the book. He doesn't learn her last name til very late in the book. This is not a deep relationship. He isn't even aware she's a mom until midway... and that isn't due to a deep meaningful conversation, he just happens to stumble upon this information accidentally. So, I really wasn’t feeling the connection. 🤷🏼‍♀️

And THIS scene is what brings me to my biggest question about this book. He sees the baby. He knows it's the h's. At this point he likes the h. But he's laser-focused on going to the majors this year. A serious girlfriend WITH AN INFANT would be a major complication to his plans. But does he EVER think a single thing that indicates he has any hesitation or concern with this bombshell? Nope. None. Not once. And while some readers will find this swoontastic, I found this stupid as hell. There is no way a 21 year old college student manwhore extraordinaire on his way to the majors doesn't take a step back from this situation to, at the very least, wrap his brain around the ramification of how pursuing this relationship will affect his future plans. No way. And the fact that he doesn't skip a single beat, made him seem simple to me. I do not like dumb heros. 🤷🏼‍♀️

AND ALSO... there isn't a single thought or peep about condoms. Not one time. We are dealing with a single mom with an infant who is LIVING the consequences of an unplanned pregnancy from unprotected sex and an H who is ready to go play pro ball and is no stranger to jersey chasers.... and they NEVER think about birth control??? He's been manwhoring it up... she isn't at all concerned about his dirty dick? Not even a little? No questions? The thought doesn't even flit through his mind that maybe another a baby wouldn't be a great thing to add to her already overloaded plate? This makes no damn sense in this situation. None.

Lastly, the "twist".... I mean, I figured it out at 25%. So, that was anti-climatic.... and the way its rushed at the end to a tidy conclusion was weird. It didn't make sense that the creepy psycho baby daddy would just roll-over without a whimper, when he's been such a asshole the whole time.

I didn't like how the H just lets a big separation happen. That isn't my kind of alpha. I kept expecting him to say EFF THAT, and find a way for them to be together... I also didn't like that he didn't remember that he slept with her previously. I know that he was drunk/high... but that isn't swoony and left me kind of side-eyeing. It would have been better if he was getting flashbacks, or funny feelings that he knew her... or SOMETHING that indicated that their first time was special to him, even inebriated ... but NOTHING. He's completely blindsided when it's revealed. Meh.

Bottom Line? This was not my favorite book by this author, and while it was an ok read, it certainly didn't leave me swooning. I was more confused than anything. It had it's moments, but those weren't enough make me want to rec this to anyone. It’s fine. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was a tough one for me because I love sports stories - especially when the tutor-athlete fall for each other. But man....this book was all sorts of messed up.

Ok, so up-his-own-ass for 75% of the book is Tobias. King of the campus and narcissist extraordinaire. He needs a tutor to pass and his Coach is offering the #1 tutor on campus, Meyer. He can't BELIEVE she doesn't want to tutor him (seriously, he acts like this through most of the book - and not in a hot Alpha way, more like an obnoxious douche way. It made me want to scream!). Meyer is being forced into it by the coach (right away, super weird creep vibes from him) and is trying to tutor others, work and go to school. It was rude that Tobias didn't even ask her name until 20% into the book. This sweet girl is keeping your conceited ass in school and you don't even know her name? Jerk.

So they start falling for each other (not sure why) and she is becoming immune to his a-hole ways. And we get the first bang - she is a new Momma! Little Bailey is a couple of months old. At this point, I was wondering when does this girl sleep? Tobias finds out her little secret and isn't scared away. This was his only retribution with me, that he was nice to the baby and understood that Meyer is a busy single mom-student so he didn't take up all the time to her baby. Plus she was still breastfeeding, always a plus with me.

Creepy Coach sees they are getting closer and continually threatens Meyer if she goes against his rules. Little things happen like Meyer meets his parents (who favor his brother over him) and Tobias meets her younger brother (after mistaking him for a new bf). There is the odd jealousy angle thrown in and the Coach is becoming more involved in their relationship. Weirdo.

FINALLY Meyer and Tobias sleep together at about the 77% mark (after only kissing a few times) and he finds out that Coach is her dad!! He confronts Coach and Meyer separately and it turns out Coach is Meyer's husband!! PLOT TWIST! And a gross one at that. Turns out he got Meyer pregnant a while back and secretly married her in case anyone found out he is really Bailey's dad. (He literally never comes near the baby ever - thank goodness!)

Apparently, Meyer and Tobias slept together, when she was already pregnant, months before at a house party and he doesn't remember her because he was drugged up/drunk (a flash back scene). Coach already knew about it and made the deal with Meyer that he would provide school for her, but she has to not get involved with his players and not tell anyone they're married or he will take the baby.

This is worse than a soap opera. Like 10 different storylines jammed into 1 story - way too much. The ending was simple though: Meyer moves to Florida with Bailey for school, Tobias finishes out his year, he forces Coach into signing over custody/giving Meyer a divorce and they live happily ever after. Oh, and the Coach resigns after people found out he was drugging his athletes and doing illegal things. They end up pregnant. I will admit I skimmed the rest instead of just putting it down because I was half expecting creepy Coach to attack. Seriously, that guy had issues. Not sure how this book got 5 stars, but it's finally done.

I loved Tobias Cruz 𝒐𝒉 𝒔𝒐 𝒎𝒖𝒄𝒉!! Despite being labeled a playboy that broke hearts and a player who was only in it for the game, my little heart loved him. He was a hotshot pitcher and knew he was good. All while wanting to feel acceptance for more than what he could do on the mound. He wanted to truly be seen and loved. The ones who should have always had his back didn't and the few who did only were in it for themselves. He knew he was more than what they saw him as, but he couldn't make them open their eyes and truly see... 𝑯𝑰𝑴.

Meyer, that girl had some lady balls. Her back was in a corner, but she always fought. Always. She wore herself thin with all her responsibilities, but in the long game it was worth. She had a very real reason for all that she did. She is a college student and tutor to the athletes on campus who need it when she isn't living her own life.

So when Tobias is on her schedule she doesn't know what to think. She isn't impressed with him, with his ball handling skills, with how popular and lusted after he is... just wants to get his grades up so she can disappear into the crowd once again. Tobias has no plans for that... his smirk, his playfulness, his determination won't allow that to happen. He is the campus god and he will do everything to show her that. Things start to shift though and his status on campus isn't important as much. Instead, the shy girl who won't smile, who won't look him in the eyes -- his 𝑻𝒖𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝑮𝒊𝒓𝒍 is what he thinks about and desires.

He just has to make her see... 𝑯𝑰𝑴

The push and pull was very much alive in this. My heart was torn and they were playing tug of war with it. All the feels were present in this book. I am so glad that I gave Tobias and Meyer a chance. My heart is happy!

Meagan Brandy is my unicorn author, i have been obsessing over her books lately and i love them all. Her stories are so unique and interesting, lets not talk about the plot twists at the end, holy wow. And dont get me started with her Heroes. Damn! Tobias fucking Cruz, kill me now or give him to me. At first he annoyed me little cuz he was so cocky and arrogant, he thought that all the girls fall into his feet so he was shocked when Meyers didnt and ignored him. He was egoistic and overconfident towards her but as the story progressed we get to see the real him. I fucking love this dude. Wow wow wow. I thought that he would run away from his problems and commitments since he was so cocky at the beginning, i legit thought he would run away the moment saw Meyer’s real life but I underestimated Meagan Brandy, her heroes are perfection. They fight for their girl like no other and can do anything for them. Tobias is my new book boyfriend, i cant get enough of him. The way he desperately wanted Meyers made me emotional. I also liked how most of the story is narrated from his POV, keeping Meyer’s a mystery which was different and very unique. The heroine was very reserved and quiet, we dont really know about her a lot at the begging, keeping her story a suspense and seeing most of the thing from Tobias’s perspective. I really like that, most of the time we dont see Heroine being mysterious but again, this is Meagan Brandy, she shocks me with her books every time. Now coming back to Tobias, i need more dudes like him. He fought and fought and fought for Meyers 🥺🥺🥺 he was so fucking desperate for her, oh god. Meyer’s life was also sad, i love these two. I am gonna go in a corner and cry, hugging this book.

Opinion Breakdown
The Good: The H (after his douchey behavior). How he took to the h's daughter especially.

The Not-So-Good: The mc's names. Meyer? I personally found it weird for a girl's name and I couldn't get into it in associating it with my h.

The Bad: The drama. It was OTT soap opera and with little to no explanation or closure. I mean It all was actually kind of weird tbh.

Overall: I always complete my review template from the bottom up. This helps me when I reflect on what I need to write here in my opinion portion. This book was kind of a mess. I liked the H and I liked how he was giving people the cocky persona because that is what was expected of him but was really a good guy beneath it all. But otherwise, I struggled with this book. The conflicts were so OTT and never fully explained. I guess we were just supposed to accept that this one character was just evil or something. I hate that. I need to understand people's motives even if it is the villain of the story.

Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Meyer and Tobias' story. Tobias is the star pitcher for the college baseball team and Meyer is the best tutor, so when he is struggling to keep his GPA up, she is assigned to get him back in order. They butt heads at first, but the more time they spend together, the more they see through their initial impressions and see the people they are behind their walls. There are some secrets revealed, some family and ex drama, and some sexy times...and they get a HEA ending.

Point Of View (POV): This alternated between Meyer and Tobias' POV.

Overall Pace of Story: Good until the end. I never skimmed and I thought it flowed well for the most part.

Instalove: No, they become friends to more.

H (Hero) rating: 3.5 stars. Tobias. I liked him more than the h. He was sweet, thoughtful, and protective. He started off as a mega douche though.

h (heroine) rating: 3.5 stars. Meyer. She was mostly likable but she would also do some things that I found off-putting.

Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed

Push/Pull: Yes

Heat level: Good. They have some good tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story.

Descriptive sex: Yes

OW (Other Woman)/OM (Other Man) drama: Yes

Sex scene with OW or OM: Not descriptive

Cheating: Not IMO (see second spoiler tag under triggers below)

Separation: Yes

Possible Triggers: Yes

Closure: This ends with a cute epilogue and what I would call a HEA ending. I would've liked to experience them as working out their conflicts more though.

Safety: This one should be either Safe or Safe with exception for most safety gang readers depending on personal preferences.

Ok...so I will admit, the beginning didn't totally put me off from reading the rest and I'm glad I continued.

Tobias completely redeemed himself (still thought he was a dick at the start though). Loved how the story was building and building and you think it's going in a certain direction but then BAMM nope it gives you a different twist!

I love Meagan Brandy's books and her style. Can't wait for more 😍

If you're scrolling through reviews for DIRTY CURVE, then I'm pretty sure that this one is going to stand out like a sore thumb, and will more than likely be an extremely unpopular opinion. I'm not a street team member or an ARC reviewer, so while it may be an unpopular opinion, it's sure to be an honest one.

I need to start off by saying I'm no stranger to Meagan Brandy's books; I've read everything she has written and loved some more than others. I've had this one on my TBR for some time and there was no doubt I would read it the moment it went live. Meagan's Heroes are very hit-and-miss for me; some of them I have truly loved but others I've not liked at all - Tobias Cruz has just landed himself in the latter category.

Tobias is your stereotypical Jock - the best in his game and a legend on campus. In reality, he is a vile, sleazy and arrogant jerk. The way he talks about and to women is such a turn-off, I didn't find anything attractive about him at all. The way him and his teammates spoke about women just made me feel ill - unfortunately, he was like this for a good part of the book.

I gave this book a 1-star because of Meyer. She was slightly dull but the way she dealt with the shit being thrown at her, all while dealing with her responsibilities, was admirable. I think she deserved way better than Tobias.

The Coach - the less said about that arsehole the better. He was disgusting and highly unprofessional.

Don't even get me started on the plot twist *eye-roll* - I honestly have no words for the ridiculousness of it. I would've found the story slightly more believable if it hadn't taken this turn.

About halfway through I started skimming pages and admittedly, Tobias did start to redeem himself towards the end, but unfortunately it was too little too late for me. The moment he found out an important piece of information that he'd conveniently forgotten, he lost me completely; I just couldn't bring myself to like him at all.

I am disappointed that I didn't love DIRTY CURVE as much as everyone else seems to, but I guess life would be boring if we all loved the same things. I'll just go back to rereading my Brayshaws - they remain top of my "favourite MB heroes list" and it doesn't look like anyone will be knocking them off there anytime soon.

I don’t know how much I can swoooon! And the twist had me gasping!

Because Tobias is EVERYTHING! Gah… is he real? Do men like him exist? He went from a player man hoar to hubby material so fast I couldn’t even blink!

Tobias’s grades are suffering. He’s the star pitcher and needs to maintain good grades in order to continue playing and eventually get scouted. Because his parents his passion for baseball, he’s relying on other means to stay and play. His coach hires him the best tutor on campus, enter Meyer.

Meyer is struggling, working many jobs, full time student and single mother and tutors on the side. The first time Tobias messaged her, he expects her to do his work for him. But, she doesn’t take him seriously or want to give him the time of day. In fact, she doesn’t want to tutor him. However, the coach forces her, threatens her… or else. She begrudgingly agrees, knowing that it’s good money, but she lays out the expectation that he’s going to be doing the work, not her.

Tobias tries to work his charm on her, but it continues to fail left and right. He keeps looking for her; in fact, no other girl keeps his attention. Underneath her baggy sweaters and dark under eyes is a beautiful girl with an amazing body, a sweet heart and an incredibly mind, but she won’t let him get close to her.

As time progresses, they inevitably get closer, and even when he finds out she’s a mom, it only turns him on even more 👀. He loves everything about her… and the way he makes his presence known is so damn swoony and sexy that I found myself fanning my face. The chemistry is 🔥🥵. Sure, sex doesn’t happen until about 80%, but oh my gaaaawd, the tension was soooo delicious 😋😅🔥.

What I loved is how all-in Tobias was, almost from the get go. When Meyer defends him in front of his parents, I was getting emotional. Tobias is soooo swoony, sexy, and especially supportive. He’s understanding and is willing to do anything for Meyer and Bailey❤️. He becomes a rock for Meyer, even when she doesn’t want him to be. He’s willing to do so much to get his GIRLS- that’s right, not only does he want Meyer, but her baby too 🥺😩❤️. I mean, can he get anymore perfect 🥺❤️🥰?

Of course, there are secrets… and complications… and damn, I DID NOT SEE THE TWIST COMING 🤯I mean, I knew something was up… but I should’ve known it wouldn’t be so simple 🤯😳👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. And Tobias handles it all like a freaking champ 😩❤️🥰🥺. I just LOOOOVE HIM!!!!

Loved this book!

⚠️safety squad⚠️
-no cheating between MCs
-mild OW- the H is with OW In the beginning, before he even meets the h. Nothing graphic
-after meeting the h, OW sits in his lap but he realizes he only wants the h and he gets her off of him
-the H was drugged which caused him to forget things that happened in the past

This was a definite hate read. The only reason why I give this book 2 stars is because of the plot twist and how good the shock factor of that one was and because of Meyer, she’s pretty damn awesome.

Other than that, this book was a catastrophe! I have to be honest though.. I didn’t want to stop reading because I was honestly pretty hooked into the plot and wanted to see where it was going but I hated every second of it at the same time lmao.

The MMC was a fucking pain in the ass!! He was so annoying and very misogynistic in the beginning of the novel. He improved himself but he still had so many icks and flaws that I just couldn’t look past… And these icks and flaws aren’t traits that make him a morally grey character. No, it just makes him a total piece of shit and an asshole lmao. He did have some redeeming qualities but he somehow always found a way to ruin his character for me again.

While the plot was very attention grabbing, I still disliked every second of it. I don’t want to spoil anything for the ones who want to go in blind but this book has some tropes which I just can’t stand and I was very disgusted by some of the things that were going on.

Also Meyer and Tobias literally had no chemistry whatsoever. It was literally just Tobias chasing after her in a not cute or adorable way. It was actually pretty creepy and iffy at times. I really disliked their relationship and where it headed.
Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if Tobias was a Andrew Tate listener lmao he was just sooooo bad and I was so annoyed that we got so many POVs by him!! Like normally I love reading through the male characters POV but this dude… istg his inner monologue and thoughts made me want to kick his ass. He’s literally so annoying istg..

I honestly can’t believe that the same author wrote ‘Say you swear’. Because Noah is an absolute daydream whereas Tobias is my worst nightmare lol.

Overall, like already mentioned the only good thing about this book imo are Meyer and the plot twist. Other than that this book is a disaster and I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.

I am torn between 2 and 3 stars on this book. Dirty Curve is a promising book, but the writing and the plot needs to be edited better.

It has been a while since I read NA romance between a sport star and a tutor. Dirty Curve have so much potential. Miss Brandy needs to edited better. The chemistry is lacking at the middle when the characters both started to fall in love.
The dialog, banter is choppy.

I decided on 3 stars. So much potential.but poor execution.

3 stars

Meagan Brandy has done it again. I think this is my favorite book of hers. Yes dang it, I say that after every one of her stories, but I REALLY mean it this time. She continues her wicked ways with this book, starting off giving you enough information to reel you in and yes, of course, leave you wondering what will happen next. I am telling you now, you will guess WRONG. OK enough of that cause anyone who leave spoilers are always on my hit list, so I don’t want to be on my own naughty list, well at least not that kind of one. Wink wink. Oh I got off on a tangent, jumping back on track now. Let me tell you more about Dirty Curve. OMG this title makes so much sense after reading this book.

Sigh! Let me tell you what I love about Tobias and Meyer, for one thing how unique are those names. LOVE IT MEAGAN BRANDY. Tobias, (OMG I GET ALL SQUISHY INSIDE SAYING HIS NAME) he is freaking awesome. I knew from page one I was gonna love this boy and he didn’t disappoint. If you don’t pay attention, he might come across as a player. I knew it wasn’t true. It takes you a bit to figure out who he is but once you do, plan to be impressed.

Meyer, this girl has ONE HECK OF A STORY TO TELL. Everything will unfold in a mind blowing way. WTH! My momma heart loved her tenacity and survivor spirit. She knows how to love well. She is all that is right with the world. Yikes! I wanna say more but once again, I CAN’T. You need to experience her for yourself.

I think I really got my “valley girl” going on writing this review and yes, I am also yelling a lot. Not really sorry. I can’t help it. Back to my “valley girl comment, obviously this book isn’t set in 80s, but because it gave all the feels of my younger days in college (don’t you dare call me old), it brought on the nostalgia making this book the BEST kind of read. I started college when I was 12 by the way… not really but WHATEVER! Eek.

Geesh I could talk about this book forever. I won’t here because it would be wrong to be a blabber mouth. Sigh. Ok now I am off to find and join the spoiler room. I feel this overwhelming need for some spicy discussions, exploring all the details of this fantastic story. Hee hee.

Happy Reading Everyone XOXO.

P.S. This book is a full tribe experience, with intriguing side characters and we had better be getting some other storylines… drop the mic.

Tobias Cruz is Meagan Brandy's swooniest hero for sure and his tutor girl own my heart completely. Dirty Curve was such a power house of feels that I just cannot express it all. The angst and the slow burn tortured me and just slayed me over and over again. This sports romance has endless raw chemistry, breathtakingly intense feels and so many jaw dropping twists. At the same time it had a sexy flirty vibe. My heart is exploding here and I cannot tell you how badly you need this book in your life!

Tobias Cruz is the star pitcher of Avix Sharks and baseball is his life. But he is failing his classes and his coach needs him on line. So the school's best tutor Meyer is assigned to him. And unlike the majority of female population, she is not dazzled by his charm or his sex appeal or his popularity. He wants to know her and she is resisting. But they are becoming more...and Meyer has secrets those can break them forever.

We all know Meagan Brandy writes some exquisite ahloe heroes. Tobias Cruz is all that..arrogant, cocky, super confident, charming, panty melting hot, having a notorious reputation. BUT what made me fall for him so hard is everything else he has hiding. He is a good guy through and through. Hard working, dedicated, loyal, disciplined, honest and with a big freaking heart. He doesn't fight against the dirty rumors but he tries hard to keep his head in the game! He has a lot to prove to himself and everyone else and that is his focus. And Meyer also found out about that part of Toby. Finally, a nerdy cute heroine with awesome fierceness from Meagan Brandy! Oh she is just brilliant. I cannot imagine her pain and her misery and the constant struggles she is going through and she still manages to be so kind and sweet and strong! It's a miracle really!

Dirty Curve was a total emotional rollercoaster. It started with some witty flirty vibes as Tobias tried to understand Meyer and Meyer tried her best to keep her distance. The author smuggled goosebumping chemistry and sexual tension between them and before I know it..BAM the feels hit me square at chest and I went down. The dynamics became complicated to super complicated and my heart was aching...because the secrets and twists were breaking them. And then the author decided to take it to another level and so came the angst hell central. I am still feeling pangs in my heart and it was just too much! I wanted to murder Meagan Brandy for taking me through that hell towards the end but I forgive her for making them happily ever after together!

Dirty Curve by Meagan Brandy is exactly how a phenomenal sports romance should be. Swoonworthy and drool worthy hero with an adorable yet fierce heroine. The sports drama, the adrenaline rush, the sinful chemistry, the sweet bite of angst and the blissful ending. Sports romance doesn't get better than this.
