Every other oil I've tried has left my beard dry and/or flaky. Honest Amish even keeps my split ends to a minimum.

We bought this because my husband was starting to grow a beard and couldn't handle the itchiness. It helped relieve the itchiness. He would apply it several times a day.

Provides itch relief

Gave it to my husband as stocking stuff. He has used it every day since Christmas and loves it. The best part is no coconut oil. Most products like this now contain coconut oil. It will likely become his regular product assuming they don't change the formula like many comparable products have.

Smells like cloves.

This is the first beard oil I've ever purchased or used and I've just started using it so I have nothing to judge it against. However, I will say that just using a few drops doesn't seem to do much except make your beard smell like cloves, so $12 for 2 ounces seems an expensive proposition.

Judging from the ingredients it's mostly just various kinds of vegetable oil, so why not just use vegetable oil? The ingredients list includes oils of avocado, pumpkin seed, almond, apricot, jojoba, argan, and kukui. About the only kinds of popular oils it doesn't list are peanut, coconut, canola, soybean, linseed, and safflower. And olive oil, which is what the ancient Greeks and Romans used in their beards (and hair), and Odysseus and Caesar seemed to do pretty well with women.

So I might just decide to save some money and mix together some olive and avocado oils, and maybe a bit of coconut oil because I like the smell.

So that's my (somewhat offbeat, true) take on it so far. It's a bit pricey, but I won't ding it for that. Four stars instead of five only because it doesn't list cloves as one of the ingredients and it should because that's what it makes your beard smell like, and people should know that before they buy it: some people don't like the smell of cloves.

I may update my review (if that's possible) as I use it more.

Smells like cloves.

No matter where I order this beard oil from, I never get a sealed box. The one I got today has a broken seal at the bottom of the box. The one from Amazon had no seal at all. Last time I'm ordering this product. I feel it's a returned item but will never know.

The smell of this oil is horrible and upsets my stomach. I smell it all day when I use it and don't have to eat because it ruins my appetite.
