Wasted some time removing the tube checking for holes. Maybe it was a noob mistake... hope this saves somebody some time.

Wasted some time removing the tube checking for holes. Maybe it was a noob mistake... hope this saves somebody some time.
For those curious, one tube weighed 0.56 pounds, or about 254 grams. Considering my bike currently runs tubeless, the weight gain is actually only half of the tube weight. This is due to the sealant, stem, and thicker rim strip being removed when you put in a tube into a tubeless tire.
In simpler terms, your bike will weigh 0.56 pounds more swapping from completely tubeless to tubed. For me, the weight penalty is minimal compared to the extra cost of tubeless (special tubeless rated tire, sealant, stem, and rim strip).
To summarize, these tubes are a perfect fit for 29er wheels between 1.75" to 2.5" wide. Affordable tubes for a 29er wheel.
I use the size 29 x 1.75-2.5 MTB 'Conti Tube' tube with my Maxxis Ardent 29 x 2.4 MTB tires.
I like them better than tubes of these sizes sold under brandnames Bontrager, EVO, and Duro because these particular Continentals have removable valve cores, which enables the use of self-sealants such as Slime.
Various articles written by expert bike mechanics recommend testing any and all new tubes before stowing them in your backpack in preparation for a ride. If you are in distress out in the middle of nowhere and should need a spare tube, you don't want to discover at that time that your new spare is a DOA. So when I test inflate these tubes to about 10 psi (without installing them), it's a little disconcerting to see them inflate quite non-uniformly, looking quite distorted in shape. However, this peculiarity is not uncommon with most other brands/sizes of inner tubes.
I've been using these since spring 2014 and am quite satisfied with them. The only flats I've gotten so far have been double pinch flats due to my own negligence (inflation pressure set too low for high speeds on embedded rocky trail surfaces). These pinch flats occurred whenever I was barrellng down trails having small faceted rocks firmly embedded into the trail, and I had failed to increase the pressure in my tires, leaving them with as little as 16 psi at the front from a just-previous outing on smooth surfaces such as clay or sand. Note that my tires contain thick heavy plastic tire liners and I also fill my tubes with Slime, so those are probably the main reasons why I don't experience ordinary punctures from thorns, etc.
For reference, I weighed the tubes on a precision digital scale:
Size 26 x 1.75-2.5 weighs 7.61 oz (216 g)
Size 29 x 1.75-2.5 weighs 8.25 oz (233 g)
