    Replaced a WD 1TB HD with the BX500 1TB SSD for a HP Pavilion 17 that was 9 yrs old (years ago, I increased its RAM to 12GB with Crucial chips). Planned on upgrading from Windows 8.1 to 10. Drive was easy to physically install. Acronis cloning software did not work. Cloned SSD drive had boot errors, even after running HP BIOS boot repair analysis. Finally ran the Windows Recovery partition on the cloned SSD which reinstalled Windows 8.1. That worked...my personal files were intact on the cloned SSD. Upgraded to Windows 10 and re-installed apps. SSD runs great and fast...boot from shutdown takes about 30 seconds and saving an extremely large data base file dropped from 35 seconds to 3 seconds. Very happy with purchase and value. Would buy again...I've always had success with Crucial's products.

    This is an inexpensive SSD drive that will dramatically increase the performance of an older laptop. A perfect upgrade for a casual PC user.

    However the BX series is a value oriented SSD, and is not the best choice for users who do heavy write activity like video production, some games, large databases or backup storage. For applications that involve a lot of disk write activity or for users who want a little better performance and possibly longevity the MX series is probably the superior choice.

    The crucial BX series is a significant performance upgrade from a traditional hard disk, and will provide a noticeable speed benefit for an older laptop. You'll also get silent operation, and a little longer battery life.

    Installation was so easy, my Dell laptop has an external bay for the HD so after cloning the old 128G SSD onto this new 480G drive, I just swapped the drives and plugged the new drive in, booted right up.
    Speed wise I checked with Crystal mark and it was decent, similar to other machines of this vintage. I use this machine for programming machine control systems so I need to keep the old girl running.
    Price was very good and Amazon had it delivered next day early morning.
    FWIW I like to keep with name brands when it comes to SSD’s and flash memory. Not saying that the no name brands won’t work fine but the number of reviews on this drive was an order of magnitude greater than the lesser known brands.

    SSD top e por um preço bem em conta. Comprei logo 2, pois é arriscado ter seus arquivos em um único SSD de 1 Tera. Um deles com o S.O. e dados e outro para fazer o backup dos dados. Não tenho paciência para backup na nuvem e outras coisas "do clima". Se um bichar, beleza, tenho outro. Se o computador bichar e só tirar o SSD e colococar em outro micro e recuperar os arquivos. Simples.

    This is my 2nd purchase of this drive and a 3rd is likely. Boosting startup times on your laptop ir PC is as simple as swapping out your HDD for a solid state version. Typically boosting startup times by a factor of 4. They require less power to run (great for battery dependent laptops) they produce less heat and have no mechanical parts to have fail. Installation is dead simple and there are numerous software options out there for doing a complete transfer of all your system files and data. To protect my system against total losses due to drive failure, secreting one of these drives and making it a system drive, is a great option.

    Crucial is a well known name in the memory business and has been around for years. These drives are one more piece of evidence, as to why.

    Highly recommended.
