Crossing the Pond: A Transatlantic WLW Romance Kindle Edition
How clumsy do you need to be to fall in love?
Fired, divorced, and broke, Piper Garland is all out of hope. Until she inherits a house in a village she's never heard of. A house that's all the way across the Atlantic.
Building contractor Camilla Fabbri spends her life pleasing others: her friends, her clients, not to mention her enormous Italian immigrant family. Which is probably why she's still single and living in a van on her parents' farm.
But when Cam quite literally fishes a strange American tourist out of the village duck pond, everything she's ever known is turned upside down. An instant connection is formed, even if it's not one that either woman particularly wants.
Sometimes the best things in life are the ones you don't plan for. And with a cast of six burly brothers, a mysterious penfriend called Twinkle Toes, interfering friends and grumpy neighbors, assorted ER staff, a slimy real estate agent, plenty of ducks, plus an enormous Great Dane, Piper and Cam are going to find that plans can only change...
Crossing the Pond is the first in a new series of Transatlantic WLW romances from Sienna Waters, the bestselling author of The Wrong Date, Tea Leaves & Tourniquets, and A Quiet Life. The books can be read in any order and are standalones featuring only the happiest of endings.

About the author

I've always loved romance, any kind of romance. But growing up, I could never find the exact kind of romance I wanted, the kind of romance about people like me. So I decided to write it myself. My books are about two people falling in love, just like all romances are. But in my case, those two people just happen to both be women. And all my stories have a happy ending, because I truly believe that there's a happy ending out there waiting for everyone.
When I'm not writing I'm spending far too much time online shopping, trying to persuade my cats to dress up, and trying to persuade my wife that I'm not as crazy as I sometimes appear (she believes this about half the time, the other half of the time she just puts up with me with endless patience).

- great cast of characters
- cute and fun story
- some good laughs for me
I really enjoyed this one and I'll definitely be reading the next in the series.
Each woman has a true-blue best friend, and they share taking care of Piper’s irascible nonagenarian neighbor and Billy, the Great Dane Piper inherited with the house.
Piper and Cam’s meet cute occurs when the duck-chasing Billy drags Piper into the pond and Cam drags her out of it by her collar. It’s the first glimpse we get of Cam’s altruism and Piper’s accident proneness, which sets the pair up for a few stopovers at the National Health Service.
Waters offers a relatively uncluttered storyline for the lovable couple — there isn’t a fake relationship, yawning age gap, or long-lost love to be sorted. It’s just an endearing, sincere love story.
I'm not saying where so there's no spoiler, but a seat should probably be reserved for Piper.
One more thing. Is it actually true about the dishwasher? Just joking.
Sienna Waters just seems to be getting better and better. I can't wait for her next release!

But ngl at some point I wanted to pull my hair and scream so bad at Cam. OMFG, you dimwit, stop pushing Piper away, saying she should do this or that. Urgh! They both are a bit of pushovers, Cam more so than Piper but nothing extreme. Nonetheless I wish I could've slapped some sense into her, actually both if I'm being honest, but I'm happy I haven't had to and they got their sheet together AND their happy ending, they so deserve it.
There's a "coming out/toaster oven" bit here and if I'd know beforehand I probably would've skipped it for a while (it would've been a shame), because I'm a bit saturated with the whole bunch of drama usually brought by the trope. But hear me out you guys, there's none of that stuff here, once Cam realises what her feelings mean to her sexuality, with a nudge of her bestie, it was very simple, we moved on. The conflict came from elsewhere, thank fudge!
Anyway, I think y'all should give this one a try, totally worth it if you like something light, even though I may have made it seems otherwise hahahha.
Now, if you don't want bad spoilers you may want to avoid the next bit, because I may or may not have spilled some.

And finally... two things in the epilogue actually got to me: Piper and Cam talking with Beth and Joey about the engagement and Piper's job. I get that we need to learn about the 2 years gap since we last heard of them, but it did sound as if both friends didn't know sheet about the last couple of years and were just learning about these with us and that's very unlikely if they are besties. Actually even if they were something else.

It was my first book from the author but definitely not my last.
I read it with kindle unlimited but I bought it - because I’m sure I read it again.
