Control: An MM Mafia Romance (Mafia Doms Book 2) Kindle Edition
I've been taking care of myself for as long as I can remember. Kicked out as a teen, I’ve gone from living on the streets to earning money in any way possible. My life has never been easy, but it’s still mine.
Now Evan, a mafia enforcer, has taken a liking to me. He thinks he can “save” me. Well, he can fuck right off. I'm never going to be dependent on anyone else ever again.
Because if I start to fall for him, if I start to rely on him, it'll hurt even worse when he inevitably decides to dump me just like everybody else does.
This is the second book of the Mafia Doms series. It can be read as a standalone, but it is best enjoyed after reading Submit. Content warnings include stalking, sex work, and violence. Control is an 83k word “mid-gray-to-dark” hurt/comfort novel from Adara Wolf & R. Phoenix. Please look inside for more detailed notes.

About the authors
Adara writes almost exclusive m/m, but she has a fondness for bisexual protagonists. She enjoys a lot of darker themes, so you'll see a lot of that in her works.
When Adara isn't writing, she's reading, painting, playing video games, and rescuing cats. She also enjoys learning about languages and other cultures.
If you're ever curious about the specific content of her works, there are content notes for each story on the website (http://adarawolf.com).

R. Phoenix (code name: Raissa) has an unhealthy fascination with contrasts: light and dark, humor and pain, heroes and villains, order and chaos. She believes love can corrupt, power can redeem and that the best of intentions can cast shadows while the worst can create light. She agrees with those who say that the truth is best told through fiction — even though fiction has to make sense while reality can be utterly baffling.
Her dark paranormal books explore a world where humanity has become prey, subjugated by “supes” — vampires, werewolves, and witches — who have seized control. They range from romance to dark erotica to horror and everything in between, exploring different aspects of the Fate of the Fallen universe. She’s even published something she calls “playful dark erotica.”
Her tendency to explore dark topics isn’t limited to a supernatural world. Her contemporary romance, Too Close, deals with the difficult topic of domestic violence. She is passionate about the need for greater awareness and understanding of an issue that’s often misunderstood.
She loves chatting with readers, though she often awkwardly rambles. No matter how much she tries to keep her bad and often perverted sense of humor in check, it seems to escape at the most inconvenient moments. (Thanks, universe.) Feel free to friend Raissa on Facebook and chat or send her an email!

I find their story to be a sweet love story set in a Mafia world.
The quote: “You’re like a genie, you know that? Has anyone wished for your freedom before?” absolutely broke me 💔

Evan Griffin, who is the head of security for Silvano Cresci, becomes obsessed with Helious. It's lust at first sight. He becomes so infatuated he stalks Helious and wants anyone who harms Helious to pay for the pain they have caused.
Helios has had a very difficult life after being kicked out from home by his parents. He doesn't trust anyone for good reason. Life-changing events one after another have made him lose any hope of ever getting out and having a normal life.
Evan will do anything to provide stability and protection for Helios. He crosses many boundaries, Evan is not a nice guy but when it comes to Helios he melts and becomes this golden retriever who will do no harm.
Evan doesn't relent on Helios. He needs him to survive. Helios will not only know and feel loved by Evan and Chorizo, he will also feel safe like he never has ever before.
Once again another book I enjoyed from these two authors. The continuation of this series keeps getting better and better. Seeing previous characters make an appearance is great Silvano, Kyran, Cristiano, and Fox. So now I'm curious to see who's book is next...👀

The bosses are having a meeting at a gay strip club, and Silvano is annoying Kyran by teasing Evan with the twink and giving him a dank from the lithe Latino dancer, Helios.
Thing is, after the private dance, and a bit more, Evan is obsessed.
He's sending gifts, turning up at his work and outside his home, and though Helios sees it as stalking, Evan just wants to take care of him and date him.
And his dog - though it's only a street dog, the animal has imprinted on Helios.
Helios isn't used to being treated kindly and he's stuck in the job with pimp Steve because of a debt he owes.
Evan might be big and scary but he's also sweet and sort of adorable, with Helios calling him Papi.
The washing of the dog scene is hilarious, the scenes with Fox being Fox are great too.
I look forward to seeing what Knives is about in the next book and we get a HEA - after a lot of vengeance that is.
Evan is just the right balance of good and bad to be the papi that Helios needs. It takes a while to get through the walls Helios has built but it’s worth it in the end.
