The superior qualities of Gounod Faust and Massenet Werther are mixed with the lesser quality productions of Puccini Tosca and Bizet Carmen. All of the operas tenor roles sang by Jonas Kaufmann are of a world class. Tosca production is the one I will not watch again. Horrible stage lighting. DVD.s are for the eyes too not only for the ears.
I would not by mixed package again.

Es ist schon schön, mal wieder echte Musik hören zu können. Ist durch Abschaum wie Rap & Co. die echte Musik noch mehr ins Hintertreffen geraten. Kaum noch Menschen, die in der Breite des Volkes etwas von Musik verstehen. Vielleicht ändert sich das dank der Elbphilharmonie wieder etwas. Solche Ereignisse haben dann doch auch gerne Breitenwirkung!
Die Inszenierung der Carmen an der Oper in Zürich ist modern und daher nicht jedermanns Geschmack. Mir war es zu karg und unpassend. Aber die Stimmen sind ja die gleichen und auch Dirigent und Orchester sind Topklasse!
