Celestron Travel Scope 60 DX Portable Refractor Telescope

Well-suited for both day and night viewing, this highly portable Celestron 60 mm f/6 Travel Scope DX Refractor Telescope will give you a completely new outlook when it comes to nature and the Universe. Comes with a manual alt-azimuth mount, adjustable height tripod, and several additional accessories, including an adapter that allows you to capture images and video via the eyepiece using your smartphone. Assembly of both the telescope and its accessories is a piece of cake, even for the total novice, and won't take up more than just a few minutes of your time. This allows you to quickly begin observing the night sky whether from a remote location or directly from your own backyard. In addition, the height of this telescope can be modified thanks to the tripod's adjustable legs, or lowered for use on a table or other raised surface.

Smartphone Adapter and Bluetooth Shutter Release

Create your own images and video of both celestial and terrestrial objects via your mobile device using the smartphone adapter. With its light, rigid frame, this accessory allows you to connect any smartphone to your Travel Scope’s eyepiece. The additional magnification provided by the eyepiece allows your phone to capture great images of the Moon and planets. Installs easily by clamping over the top of the eyepiece and is held in position with the help of tightening knobs that securely lock your phone in place.

Please note that some large and/or bulky phone cases, such as folio cases, may need to be removed in order to allow your phone to fit in the adapter.

Celestron has also equipped the Travel Scope 60 DX with a Bluetooth shutter release for optimal image capture. This enables any Android or iOS smartphone's camera shutter to be activated remotely without your phone or telescope's placement being disrupted for a thoroughly stable shot.

Manual Alt-Azimuth Telescope

Explore the sky with conviction using the Travel Scope 60 DX's intuitive pan handle. Smooth tracking and precise pointing comes courtesy of Alt-Az control with clutch. Similar to a photographic tripod, the clutch can be adjusted up, down, left, or right to allow you to track your targeted object in the eyepiece at all times.

Deluxe Accessories Included

This Travel Scope 60 DX package also contains a full complement of optical accessories in addition to the smartphone adapter and Bluetooth shutter release, including 20 mm and 8 mm 1.25" eyepieces with contrasting magnifications for viewing at either low or high power, an 1.25" erect image diagonal, a 3x Barlow lens, and a finderscope. The erect image diagonal produces right-side-up images while facilitating a more comfortable observing experience, and the permanently fixed finder allows for quick object detection and centering in your telescope's eyepiece.
