microSD card came preloaded with raspberry Pi OS installer.
I bought it mainly for Ubiquity/Unfi controller. Very stable, running for 3 days straight and no hiccups. Installing PI Hole later. Plenty of memory and CPU power for other network services.
I would buy this again.
I purchased it for a variety of reasons, but mostly because of a recent extended power outage. My regular computers use too much power, and the UPS system is only able to keep them running for a few hours. With the Raspberry Pi, I can keep the computer running from a smartphone-charging battery pack. So, if there's another power outage, I'll be able to work for many days from battery power.
Another reason for purchasing the Raspberry Pi was that I wanted to be supportive of the community. I like the idea of having a computer people can own for about $100 total cost including some used parts (HDMI display or TV, keyboard, mouse). Computers should be as affordable and accessible to as many people as possible.
For my own Raspberry Pi configuration, I'm using a Logitech K380 bluetooth keyboard. My mouse is a wireless Logitech mouse. You can see the USB Logitech wireless adapter in the photo. That's the adapter for the mouse. I'm using a USB 3 Flash Drive for file storage. I also upgraded to a faster microSD memory card to have a quicker load time when starting up. I'm using an HDMI cable to connect the system to a 42" Samsung 4K display, which I also share with another computer. The included Raspberry Pi power cord works well. I like that it has a power button. I usually count about 7 seconds after shut down and then press the power button to turn off power to the system. Otherwise the power cord light stays on.
The fan shown in the photo is a USB powered very quiet cooling fan that provides airflow to the Raspberry Pi and some other electronics that can't be seen in the photo. I don't work the Raspberry Pi CPU very hard. Initially I was checking the system temperature to make sure overheating wasn't a problem. I decided to use the included heat sinks, but no internal cooling fan. I want the system to be very quiet and I found the tiny internal fan was noisy. So, I chose not to use that.
For beginners, you'll want to follow the instructions that come with the system. It may be a little unfamiliar initially, but you will gain proficiency over time. Keep in mind that an advantage of the Raspberry Pi is low cost of ownership and low cost of replacement or upgrade as time goes on. The "hard drive" can be completely re-created using a free utility from the support site. So, a rebuild is faster and lower cost than Windows in that regard.
I hope you enjoy your Raspberry Pi as much as I've enjoyed mine.

I specifically bought this to load an image of RetroPie 4.6 and had some issues the first time around, but I was able to get it to work on my second try. It wasn't the kit, it was more so me and downloading the correct image to my Pi. It works flawlessly. I now have a complete retro gaming kit with almost every arcade game from the 80s to early 90s, all on a single board machine that's the size of a credit card!
I would highly recommend this kit to anyone looking to buy a Pi. There's almost no limit to what you can do with these little machines.
The Raspberry Pi 4 stopped booting after 2 months working with the kit. It was clear that the problem was a board/component issue after following on-line troubleshooting steps.
Upon contacting Canakit and describing what I saw, I was told to ship the board back via UPS for replacement at no cost to me.
Only a few hours after emailing a copy of the UPS receipt and tracking number, I was notified I would be receiving a new replacement board via overnight shipment.
Superb customer support!
