I love this headset so much that I bought a 2nd one from Asus. I will use that with my 7.1 sound system speakers that I will add to it. Are I can use it on one of my other computers are laptops. The Asus Strix 7.1 works very well with games, surround sound 7.1 movies, and music. With the 5 speakers on each side you get true 7.1 surround sound in every thing. They are perfect.
- One of the most singularly comfortable headsets I've ever worn. The overhead strap is attached by elastic bands, so it automatically tensions and adjusts for your head position without the sliders that most headsets have. Weight is well balanced. Ear cups fit snugly but without excessive pressure, and fully wrap my ears (which are larger than average, a difficulty in many around-the-ear headsets).
- Sound quality is superb. The directionality of the 7.1 is excellent, and the headset has easy tuning of each channel volume (including subwoofer and microphone) right on the base station.
- Base station includes a connector for up to 7.1 speakers via a 3.5mm jack bundle. It then has a button on the base station to easily toggle between headset and speaker output. This is amazing for those that prefer to use speakers when not on voice comms, as you don't need to disconnect/reconnect the headset or change your default sound default to facilitate the swap (which is particularly nice for games that don't handle changing sound devices well).
- Cables are high quality, with a braided exterior, though they may be a bit short. Both the headset -> base station and base station -> computer cables are ~5" in length.
- Microphone has a very well designed adjustment style. It can be moved around easily and broadly, but still retains its position solidly. It's also detachable.
Cons:
- Mine creaks a bit when I move (brand new).
- The lighting is pretty basic by the standards of gaming headsets. Only has two modes, "on" or "breathing" (a 4-5 second pulsing cycle from off to on and back)
- Base station main wheel works oddly. It has distinctive and tactile "clicks" in it's rotation, but volume only goes up every 5-7 clicks. Same goes for some of the other option modes, takes a few clicks for it to change, when it would seem intuitive for each click to represent a state change.
- Speaker output is weak. The built in amplifier doesn't work on the speaker output, and the volume from that speaker output is considerably lower than my computer's output through its on-board soundcard. Ended up just turning up the speakers, though.
- Poorly documented. The user manual that comes with the headset doesn't explain a number of the features on the headset (like Spectrum mode).
- Base station generates odd low-volume white noise over speakers when in headset mode, which is amplified when I turn on my desk light. May be low-quality or factory-damaged insulation on the cables (or my speaker cables, but issue is not present when speakers are plugged directly into my computer).
- Requires 2 USB ports. Not really that big of a deal, but is not annotated in the item description.
Conclusion: Overall, the pros outweigh the cons. Definitely a worthwhile headset.

The standing control base is much more convenient then those heavy items hanging in wire.
And it doesn't need 3-rd party software (which appeared to be good probably only for Razor), so no problems with it as well - I have those with MSI ones.
So, best for the price for sure! May be even best overall if you not that person who hears difference between golden and steel connectors for headsets )

In definitiva:
