Need to chop up onions, celery, and carrots for a quick mirepoix? How about some tomatoes and cilantro for a salsa? Or nuts for a batch of brownies? The OXO Good Grips Chopper can handle all these tasks much faster than your chef’s knife. (It’s safer, too.) It features a sharp, stainless steel blade that rotates with every single press of the knob, resulting in perfectly even pieces. Load it up and then just press the knob to start chopping. It’s comfortable and easy to use, and the large catcher cup has convenient measurement markings. Of course, the whole thing comes apart for cleanup. Dishwasher safe.

We use this chopper almost daily as a matter of fact I think it is better than the one I had from Pampered Chef. It has a good spring action when you chop so you don't struggle and food does not get stuck. Easy to clean by hand or in dish washer.

We bought this to replace/supplement a rather ancient Pampered Chef unit we have had for years. I was surprised at the design and quality of the Oxo unit. It shows some advantages over the classic Swiss-made Pampered Chef chopper. It produces a consistent cut and is easy to disassemble for cleaning. The bottom "lid" snaps on and stays in place, a feature lacking on the Pampered Chef design. Greatly appreciated! It does require a bit of initial familiarization to disassemble and reassemble, but the design is well thought out and intuitive. We noted that it is also available in Whole Foods stores, if you have one nearby. Overall, we are quite pleased with this chopper.

I have been using this thing for about a year. It is efficient, easy to use, and easy to clean. Dates and raisins are too sticky to chop easily tossing them in flour first helps some. It does great on most veggies and nuts including almonds.

Was tired of handchopping onions and red cabbage, so I got this. It is excellent for chopping..... but only for small amounts. If you overload it, it is really hard to chop the food up. As long as you don't completely pack it, it works well. Another thing I really like is that is all comes apart to be washed in the dishwasher. That is a lifesaver in itself.

This does it's job well- it quickly dices up things like onions, chocolate, nuts etc. Will it chop it perfectly uniform like a food processor would? Not really, but if you just want to quickly and roughly chop a small amount, it's perfect. Could you use a knife? Probably, but if your knife skills aren't great it can take forever and if you don't want to pull out the big ol' food processor, this is the perfect easy in between option. I love using it for making soup, quickly chop celery, onion, pepper, carrot- dump it in the pot. Then you disassemble the chopper and wash each part, the blade is a little tricky to clean because it is oddly shaped and sharp, other than that, cleaning the rest is easy peasy.

To be honest, the only reason I'm not returning this is that it was a present from my kids. They are fascinated by the chopping action and love chopping onions and garlic for just that reason.
That is, however, where the positives end.
Here's what I don't like and why I wouldn't recommend buying it:
1. Chopping is very uneven, you will end up with mostly finely chopped bits but also some sizable chunks, so you may end up either throwing those out or go after them with your knife.
2. Fairly limited capacity, I found putting more than one medium sized onion in the little container will prove taxing
3. Most veggies you'll chop with this contraption will need to be cut to more bite sized pieces so they actually fit, meaning you'll need you knife nevertheless ...
4. Cleaning is somewhat of a pain, too many nooks and crannies were stuff gets stuck and will be difficult to reach, plus the blade is sharp and will have to come out of its safety cover
5. If the kids aren't watching I will always use my chef's knife instead, it doesn't take any longer especially when chopping greater quantities, the end product will be much more even, I get to decide how finely or coarsely things are cut, and my knife is waaaay easier to clean and takes only a fraction of the space of this gadget ( just don't tell my kids)

I bought this as standing up is immensely painful for me, especially standing and leaning forward. This device does in a few seconds - with surprisingly easy physical action - what it was formerly taking me hours to do as I couldn't stand and chop things in the kitchen very well. This thing lets me dice things faster and more consistently, I can achieve all of the necessary chopping in one or two sessions instead of a dozen or so. The ease of cleaning is immensely important too, it comes apart remarkably easily and cleanly - it's a genuinely superb piece of industrial design. Compré la picadora de OXO después de ver un anuncio viejo de teletienda con este concepto. Lo cierto es que a menudo me encuentro con la necesidad de picar verduras con distintos fines (una pasta, una tortilla, nachos, quesadillas, un gazpacho).

Picar en trozos pequeños pimiento, tomate, cebollas, etc,... suele generarme algo de pereza. Sin ser complicado lleva algo de tiempo y al final genera un poco de suciedad en la encimera. Hasta el punto de comenzar a comprar la verdura congelada troceada en el supermercado.

Con la picadora de OXO no tengo ese problema. En 1 minuto tienes picado lo que quieres, y si lo haces sobre la tapa que lleva no ensucias más que el aparato.

Es fácil de desmontar y va entero al lavavajillas. No ocupa demasiado (aunque algo ocupa) y la verdad es que lo estoy usando muy a menudo. Una buena compra, y como siempre OXO no falla.
